Beverly looked at the resumes. There were a couple who she could trust to run the factory. The name of one struck her. Stuart Raft… Raft… where had she heard that name?

Of course. It the movies. George Raft had been an actor back in the thirties who specialized in interpreting gangsters… And she had seen quite a few of those old movies...

Dinah came in, and Beverly was struck how happy she looked. Just the day before she had looked so despondent, and now…

"You look great." She commented.

"I feel great. And I think that Albert wants more than a professional relationship with me… and so do I… and…. And I think that I finally will have a life."

"Good for you."

"How about you? I thought that you and Eagleton…"

"It is still up in the air." Beverly voice was curt. Professor Romney had told her that Flynn would be back soon in Benchley Town. But what was his definition of "soon"? And after the time they were apart, did she feel about him the same way?

"I wish it works out for you."

"So do I…so do I."

"As for me". Wendy continued "I had made my decision. I would confront Frank and tell him that if he did not cooperate with the D.A. and left the drugs behind for good – no matter how much money it gave him – we were through. And after I decided that, I went to sleep"

"Hang the Papist! She killed Reverend Moore!

The mob came close and closer. Soon they would be there. Soon, she, Margaret Lafferty would hang from a tree.

She must get away. She must run…

The door stood in front of her. If she opened it, she would be safe. But the door would not open and the mob came closer.

"I will not let Frank Carruthers bring me down" she said between clenched teeth. "No more drugs, no more drug money"

The door opened and Danny was there.

"I will take it up from here."
