Part 21

Zoom growled as he watched as his men set up camp. They had to retreat into the Winter Woods. He hated that they could not take out that small unit of soldiers from the Central Kingdom that had come to aid the Snow Kingdom army. But what really angered him was that he had to leave his whore behind. He should have killed her before he fled. But he was sure that the girl now carried his son. A son he had been planning to raise to lead his army in the future. Though the only son that would really matter is the one that he fathered by Princess Caitlin. But the fact that the girl was alive was a problem. She had seen him without his mask and knew who he was.

"Sir, what is our next move?" asked Mardon

"Mardon, I am working on a new plan. One that will ensure I get everything I want. But first I need to find out who betrayed me. That is the only way that those idiots could have gotten so close without us seeing them until it was nearly too late."

"What makes you think that you were betrayed?"

"I know I was. I just need to find out who it was. I know it wasn't you. You hate the King as much as I do."

"He is responsible for the death of my brother. I want that man dead for taking my only family from me."

"You will have your revenge I promise you."

Mardon smiled. He could not wait until he had the chance to shove his sword through the King.

Leonard Snart was not a good man by any means. But he was more a thief than a killer, and he sure as hell did not hurt women. He had watched as his own father had beat first his mother and then his sister. His sister was now missing and he was sure that Zoom had something to do with it. That is why he had joined Zoom's army to find out what he had done to the only person he cared about more than himself. In fact that is why every chance he got he dropped clues about where they were headed to hopefully stop this monster. But he had to be careful he couldn't let anyone find out what he was doing or he would be dead. Zoom was much worse than his father was. But until he finds Lisa he was not going to be able to fully stop the monster. But he was not going to let him hurt the Princess. Even though she was not his type he knew that she was one of the good ones in the world.

"Don't worry Princess, while I may not be a good guy, I am not going to let this monster hurt you." said Snart softly

Caitlin smiled as she handed a doll to a little girl at the hospital. The girl was in a bed being treated for an injury on the farm she lived on. Her mother sat next to her looking happy for the small gift.

"Thank you Princess." said the woman

"You don't need to thank me. Don't worry about the bills. They are going to be covered." said Caitlin

Barry stood back with Ronnie and Eddie watching her with the kids. She seemed so at ease with them. That told him that she was going to be much like his mom has always been hands on with any kids she had.

"Looks like she is enjoying herself." said Ronnie

"Yeah. It is too bad that she can't let anyone know about her gift. I mean don't you think these kids would like to get icicles in any shape they can think of?" said Eddie

"We don't know that she can make icicles in different shapes. I mean Cait doesn't like to talk about her powers much. I mean I know that she can lose control when she is angry." said Barry

"She can make anything out of ice." said Patty joining them

"Really?" asked Ronnie

"Oh yeah. I mean I have known her since we were kids. I have known about her powers since she got them. She made us an ice fort in the garden after the spring thaw when we were ten." said Patty

"That had to have been cool." said Eddie

"It was until Queen Carla saw what Caitlin had done and yelled at her. That was the first time I remember seeing her lose control. Her brother was the only one that could calm Caitlin down."

"She and Charlie are close aren't they?" asked Barry

"Very. The only thing that she is not looking forward to about going home for his wedding is the fact that she may have to admit that he was right." said Patty

"What is he right about?" asked Eddie

"That Cait would like me. She has not had any luck with finding a suitor back in the Snow Kingdom. Only Lord Hunter Zolomon and some arrogant jerk named Julian Albert." said Barry

"Zolomon is scary and thinks that women only have one place in the world. That is to provide a man with a proper heir as he puts it. Which in case you are wondering is a son." said Patty

"Uh he does know that he can't have a son without women right?" asked Eddie

"No one ever said that Zolomon was the sharpest knife in the drawer. Julian, while not the worst in the world, only has been after Caitlin because it would get his family closer to the King. Something that they have been trying to do for a very long time." said Patty

"I take it that King Thomas is not in favor of either one of them for his only daughter." said Ronnie

"Let me put it this way, Zolomon would not have his blessing to Marry me if he were the last man on Earth. As for Julian, my father sees him for what he is, and will not force me to marry him. Besides I know that my father has signed a contract for me to marry Barry in exchange for the help of King Henry's army." said Caitlin joining the group.

"Only if we both feel that we will be able to get along if we are married and like each other. Maybe even grown to love each other." said Barry

"Well, that is not an issue. I do like you Barry. You know that. I might go as far as to say that I am falling in love with you. Not that I am in any rush to marry." said Caitlin

"I feel the same way." said Barry

"If you two are going to kiss, maybe you should wait until you are in the coach. We don't need to have anyone spreading rumors about you two." said Ronnie

"He has a point." said Patty

"Ready to head back Princess?" asked Barry

"Yes. Maybe we can go for a ride tomorrow?" said Caitlin

"That would be great." said Barry

They headed out unaware that they were being watched by someone that wanted to do nothing but harm to them.
