I don't own Fate/Grand Order or it's related fandoms and characters. The same applies to any other fictional work(s) that may be referenced. And be warned that some non-OC characters might be OOC.
From now on, a lot of the POVs will be focused on Chaldea, and there won't be many changes in the beginning of the plot of each Singularity, if any at all, as those changes will start when they meet Jacob.
And yes, the first Singularity will be with Foreigner Jacob, with Caster only appearing later on. Enjoy!
Chapter 16
"Fou? Kyu, fou?" The privileged life-form allowed to roam Chaldea's halls, Fou, awakens the last master of humanity.
"I think I just had a bad dream…" Said master sighs to himself.
As Fou tries to comfort him, Mash enters the room, without noticing Fou.
"Good morning, Senpai. It's finally time for the briefi-Eek!"
After apologizing to the small fluffy ball, she asks Ritsuka whether he had a good night of sleep, to which he answers that he slept like a log, so as to not worry her.
"I'm glad to hear it. They say it takes talent to get a good night's sleep. I know you just woke up, but it's briefing time. We should hurry."
"Shall we, then?" Fujimaru asks her, and then both of them leave the room to go meet the others.
"Good morning, Ritsuka. Did you sleep well?" As soon as they reach the command center, doctor Roman greets them. After getting an affirmative nod from the young man as an answer, he continues. "Let's get right to the briefing, then."
The doctor then explains once again what is expected of Ritsuka once he departs to his first singularity, which is to investigate it and correct it, as that altered moment is a turning point in human history, and without it, humanity wouldn't have reached as far as it did.
"…Otherwise, 2019 will never come. Humanity will be extinct in 2018. That is your first objective. The basic principle of the upcoming operation. The operation's second objective is to Investigate the "Holy Grail".
Then, he explains how the singularities might be caused by the Holy Grails, and further explains what those objects are. And then he finishes his explanation about the subject by reiterating that his secondary objective is to either secure the Grail, or destroy it.
"Those are the two objectives of this operation. Is everything clear so far?"
"Crystal clear." The master nods once again.
"Glad to hear it." The doctor sighs in relief, as he won't need to explain it all over again. "…And now, there's one other thing I want you to do in addition to the mission."
The black haired master looks curiously at the doctor, who scratches the back of his neck while smiling nervously, since he is still not used to the position of director.
"That said, it's nothing major. It's for after you Rayshift to that era. I want you to find a leyline and make a summoning circle. Just like you did in Fuyuki." He then closes his eyes in frustration. "Unlike Fuyuki, we could probably make da as-is if it's just telepathic communication…But to transport supplies, it won't work without establishing a summoning circle."
Then once again he enters his explanation mode, as he tells Ritsuka that once Mash sets up her Noble Phantasm, it will act like a catalyst, and just like before, he will be able to summon Servants at will which will most likely be related to the place and time period that the singularity is affecting. And that they should use that as an opportunity to bolster their forces.
Mash agrees with him, and then suggests that they should try to establish a base camp first.
"What we'll need is a place to relax, a structure with a roof, a home to come back to. Right, Master?"
"Yes, I'll be counting on you."
Of course, Mash blushes a little at his answer, before stuttering her gratefulness to his confidence in her, and assures him she'll give her best. Fou suddenly appears, as always, and Roman expresses his amazement at the girl's growth.
"Hey, get over yourself. How long are you gonna keep me waiting?" The resident italian genius, Da Vinci interrupts the moment, sounding exasperated.
"Oops, you're right. You didn't show any interest, so I forgot that you were there." The doctor sweatdrops, scratching the back of his neck nervously. "Allow me to introduce you, Ritsuka. He…no, she…er, it? Um, who? Sheesh. Standing there is Chaldea's pride and joy, the head of our Engineering Department, Leonardo." He side glances at the now pouting genius. "As you can tell they are quite unusual. Of course, they're not a human… Let's not get into that. The reason being-"
"…A Servant." Mash gasps. When Ritsuka turns his head to her, she continues. "Senpai, this is incredible. This person is a Servant!"
"Right you are~🎶" The now cheerful Servant agrees. "I'm Chaldea's honorary tech advisor, I normally go by Leonard here." Then she smirked. " But as you can see, I am the proud inventor of the Renaissance! The one-and-only, Leonardo da Vinci in the flesh! You can just call me Da Vinci. You don't get to see many pretty ladies like myself around here right?" She smirked even harder at the master's dumbfounded look.
"Da…Vinci?"
"This is strange. It's abnormal. It's wrong! I mean, Leonardo da Vinci should be a man-" Mash protested, but was interrupted by said genius.
"You should always question conventional wisdom. But, is it really that important?" The genius now rolled her eyes. "Who was the first one that claimed I was a man or woman?"
Then she proceeded to explain that, since in life she pursued beauty, and to her the ideal beauty was her painting, the Mona Lisa, then her manifesting as a woman was simply the result, only to be criticized by Roman, who said she was the the only pervert twisted enough to turn into the Mona Lisa, just because she loves the Mona Lisa.
"Heh heh. Are you sure about that, Dr. Roman? As cultures mature, anything is possible. The desire to become a beautiful girl might one day be the norm." She said smugly.
The doctor, however, remained unimpressed.
"That might be true, but which time period's Heroic Spirit are you?"
"Genius has nothing to do with time period, doctor. Ritsuka, you'd do well to remember that too. You will encounter many Heroic Spirits who were artists. Every one of them is as splendid and eccentric!"
The doctor facepalmed at that statement.
"Are you kidding me? Still, I can see that being the case!"
Mash, although somewhat confused, still thanked Da Vinci for the advice, who proceeded to pet the girl's head, praising her for being understanding, before she decided that was a good enough introduction, and went back to her duties. Not before explaining what they were, and why she wasn't accompanying them to the singularity, for the sake of the new young master. After saying that might change in the future depending on the master, she finally, truly, left.
"Wow, he really did introduce himself and then ran off." Sighed the doctor, looking at where the genius left for, before turning back to Chaldea's last master. "Now, as I was saying…I'm sorry, but we don't have the time to rest. We're going to start the Rayshift, ok?"
"Of course. I'm ready to go at any time."
With some final advices, Roman wished the master good luck, and then just like Mash, the japanese boy entered his Coffin.
"Unsummon Program start."
"Spiritron Conversion start."
"Rayshift starting in 3, 2, 1…"
"All procedures cleared. Grand Order commencing operation."
And so, with the beginning of the First Grand Order, now the Chaldeans were in Orleans.
Yes, as I said, the beginning will be basically the same. When they meet Jacob, is when the story really starts. I will fast forward a few sections because of that.
Hope you guys enjoy it.
