"I looked at the place" Dinah explained to Amos "It has a motion activated alarm. Anything moves there, the alarm sounds."
"So how are we going to get in and not get caught?"
"We will have them turning it off after several false alarms."
"How do we do it?'
"The usual way is releasing a bird. But we got something better than a bird. We got a bat."

"Yes. That was my introduction to a robbery caper. Get in and fly around triggering as many lasers as I could, and then hide in a corner when they came to check."
"And did you like it?'
"It was exciting. I was using my vampiric powers, but I was not hunting for blood… I was just conducting a secret mission. And for the first time I did enjoy flying. Tried all kinds of acrobatic tricks. It was so new to me."
"You discovered the joy of flying."
"Yes. I did not realize how awesome it could be."
"If only they had shown that in the show. It would have made a difference in the tone. Something fun instead of unending doom and gloom. Always on the cusp of disaster. Always ready for the next crisis. That was not it. Yes, we had crisis, but in the meantime, we had stretches of normalcy where we muddled along, and we had fun, and…and behaved like normal people. You cannot live on constant high alert, sometimes you need to relax." Beverly commented.
"And that is advice from the writers' group?"
"They taught me a lot."
"And when will your book be done?"
"When I get over my writers' block."
"We hope it is soon"

Amos flew into the deserted room, erratically as if it was truly a trapped bird. The alarm blared, and he kept flying until they came to check. Then he hid in a corner and watched them look things over. He waited until their back was turned and flew triggering the alarm again. He continued doing it until they left, convinced that the alarm was defective or something like that. Then the alarm was off.
He went to the window where Dinah waited, all clad in black ninja gear. "All clear now."
Dinah found the cabinet where old records were kept and opened it. It was not even locked, as those were historical records that few would care about. It was the more recent ones that were protected.
"If they did not care about the old records, why didn't they allow us to look at them?"
"Because they are jerks."
