The Samson aircraft went flying in the sky as the pilot was driving while Grace and Mirabel were sitting in the passenger seats. Mirabel looked through the window and saw nothing but the misty cloud.
"We won't be staying here for too long at the camp. We are stopping at some place that I want you to meet. You brought your camera with you to film it, right?" Grace asked.
"Yeah?" Mirabel answered as she looked confused.
"Good."
Mirabel still looked confused. Doesn't know why her mom told her to bring her camera for. Which some of the scientists told her to. She might get her answers soon, once the helicopter landed. Mirabel watched through the window as she was only looking at the mist but as they cleared up... something that made Mirabel's jaw dropped.
Floating mountains in the sky. Mirabel has never seen anything like it. Even on Earth has never have mountains that can float. She even saw some waterfalls but never knew how the extra water was coming from and that is a mystery for her to discover.
"Mom... the floating mountains. Are they the Hallelujah Mountains?" she asked, and Grace smiled.
"That's right. I remember my reaction when I first came to Pandora."
Mirabel couldn't take her eyes off of the mountains. She was just admiring the beauty, even thought like she was in a fantasy story. Suddenly, she noticed that the aircraft was going down. Mirabel watched as it was landing on a grassy ground and could hear the engines stopped. She saw Grace started getting off but had her mask on. Mirabel quickly got her mask on and her bag and got off the aircraft with her mom.
Once she's now off, Mirabel looked up at the sky to see the floating mountains and smiled.
"Stay here, I'll be right back." said Grace.
"Okay." Mirabel replied as she watched go in the camp.
Mirabel put her bag down and starts reaching in to get something. She grabbed one of her cameras out and starts taking pictures of the mountains. She did took a couple of them and starts going through them. Seeing some shots looked perfect.
"These be perfect for my next video log." she said to herself until she heard Grace's voice.
"Kyle, can you take Mirabel to the location?" she asked.
"Sure thing."
"Wait! What location? I don't..." Mirabel tried to ask but Grace went back in the camp and the pilot dragged her back in the Samson. 'Is there anything mom wouldn't tell me?' she thought.
The Samson starts its engine and the propellers started to spin fast. Mirabel can feel the helicopter starts lifting up off the ground. She looked to see how far it has gone up and starts flying straight. Now more confusion questions came to Mirabel's head. She doesn't what location the pilot was taking her. Don't know what she wants to see but it has to be interesting.
A couple of minutes later, the Samson landed somewhere in the middle of the forest. Mirabel looked at the surrounding and from the look of it, a helicopter or maybe to where she's on now, must have landed to the spot before.
"Once you go out, go straight." the pilot spoke as Mirabel put her mask on.
"Why? What's out there?" she asked.
"You'll see."
"Didn't my mom told you where I'm supposed to go?"
"She did but she wants you to see it for yourself." he answered as he put his mask on.
Mirabel just looked at him for a moment, but as she turned the oxygen on, Mirabel grabbed her bag and start leaving the Samson.
"I'll pick you up before the eclipse!" the pilot shouted.
Mirabel stood a few steps back to watch the helicopter go but she has to go to the direction where the pilot pointed. She start walking as she felt the power of air blowing from the aircraft until it was gone.
She kept on walking as she looked at the nature of Pandora. Seeing such interesting plants, she had ever seen. If Isabela was with her, she might be fascinated or curious about them. As Mirabel kept on walking, she stopped at her tracks as she saw something. She saw that look like a wooden house that is nearby. Curious to her, she wondered who lived there. Couldn't be a human because there won't be any spare packs of oxygen for the person.
Once Mirabel got close to the house, she inside to have a look around. From what she was seeing was a large table, a shelf with some books, a mobile carrying planets and stars, and a board that have alphabet letters.
"This is a school." Mirabel spoke softly as she looked at the letters. "But why there be one here?"
"Something for the Na'vi to learn." a female voice answered.
Mirabel recognized it was her mom's voice but as she turned around, she saw a Na'vi dressed in a red tank with light brown shirt over and light brown shorts. She knew it was an avatar but as she looked at her face, she recognized the face but in a different structure.
"Mom?"
"Who do you expect?" she asked.
Mirabel smiled as she looked at her. She was wondering if Grace has an avatar and now she's meeting one for the first time.
"You look great." she said to her, and Grace smirked, "And you're also a teacher?"
"Yep. Been teaching the Na'vi to speak English and also reading to them. And I even thought that the children should experience with you. Playing I mean. Also, the camera I asked you, I just want you to film it on how you experience with them."
"But if I'm playing with them, think you could hold the camera?" Mirabel asked.
Grace nodded until she heard something. She came to the doorway and listened until she smiled. Mirabel watched as she exited the school, she started to wondered that maybe...
She quickly got close to the doorway and peeked to see her mom outside but to her surprise. Something that she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
The Na'vi.
She finally got to see them. They're like the avatars but more wild and they only have four fingers. Also, their hair and how they dressed look something like how historic tribes were like in history books. Mirabel wanted to greet them but worried on how they'll react to when they see her. But as she looked at them, she spotted two females that are the same size as Grace including an elder one. She listened to their Na'vi language as she understands what they were saying until she heard what Grace just said.
"I have brought someone with me, but she is only a child that came to me." said Grace until she spoke more, "Mirabel... come on out."
Mirabel's heart pounding and her palms were getting sweaty, but she took a deep breath and slowly walked out of the doorway. She saw the Na'vi with surprised look on their faces. One child who is a female stood beside her and to Mirabel's surprise: the Na'vi child was a little taller than her. In fact, most of the children might be taller than a human child but could be the same size a human adult.
"This is my daughter, Mirabel. She just somehow arrived here a couple of months ago." said Grace.
Mirabel looked at them as they were looking at her. She felt nervous until she greets them in their native language, also an honor of meeting them.
"This sky child speaks well." the elder spoke as she smiled.
"She has been learning a lot, but she's still learning." said Grace until she spoke in native tongue to the children. Telling them to go and play for a moment. "Mirabel, go play with them."
"Okay." the young girl replied and quickly went off to join them.
"Tell me my friend, where did you find the sky child?" the elder asked while she and two young women stood with Grace.
"She somehow came on the ship by accident, Mo'at." Grace starts explaining. "Her home is from where I'm from but her family... done something terrible."
The Na'vi women looked at each other and looked back at her.
"Her family are different with special gifts that can magically do. Mirabel, however, didn't receive a gift. They abandoned her. Somehow, a gold butterfly lead her to a ship and now here she is on Pandora and decided to raise her. "
"This butterfly... is she here for a reason?" the oldest girl asked.
"That's what Mirabel told me. When she saw the avatars she wanted to learn about them, Pandora, and the People. So my friends and I decided to taught her but I thought of bringing her here to experience with you and the others."
The young Na'vi women looked at each other and then looked at Mirabel as she was playing with the children.
The human child finds it interesting on the games that the children play. For Mirabel, she is quite a fast learner on getting the hang on the games, but she spotted one that wasn't playing. A Na'vi boy. His hair was spiked short, but the braid was still there, and he was wearing a simple loin cloth. He was curled up in a ball as he was looking at the other kids. Mirabel wasn't so sure if he's shy or not wanting to play but decided to go towards him.
"Hey... aren't you going play?" Mirabel asked but in native Na'vi language.
The Na'vi boy looked at her and then looked away. Mirabel couldn't tell if he was blushing or not because of the shades of blue.
"My name is Mirabel. What's your name?" she asked and then heard his answer.
"My... name... is... Nowu." he spoke but it was in English.
"Nowu." Mirabel repeated the name and then smiled. "It's nice to meet you. How come your not playing with the others?"
"Um... um..."
Mirabel waited for another answer, but the boy was still shy to speak. She smiled again and grabbed his hand.
"Come on. It won't hurt to play." she said and starts dragging him.
The Na'vi boy looked at her by surprise as he walked with her to join the other kids.
Grace and the other grown Na'vi watched as they played but Mo'at... she somehow fascinates the human girl and smiled.
A moment later, Mirabel sitting by the corner of the wall, using her camera to film the class. The girl smiled as she watched her mom teaching and reading to the children. This was something that she will never forget especially becoming a friend to the Na'vi.
