Hanging On The Edge-Ch 17
Over the next several weeks Derek and Penelope spent all of their free time together, they had been on several in home dates and enjoyed every minute that they spent together. Fran had called Penelope's doctor and got a list of the exercises they wanted her to do for therapy and had been helping Penelope with her rehab for her broken foot.
Penelope was staying busy with therapy and helping her team of heroes from home, she loved being with Fran and the girls but she couldn't wait to get to go home again. She really missed her apartment and being able to actually go to the BAU to be with her family, even though she wasn't working side by side with them they could always feel her with them.
The team came over several nights a week when they were in town to spend some time with her, Fran and the girls and over the weeks everybody had grown a lot closer, especially Derek and Penelope and Dave and Fran.
Penelope had managed to arrange several dates for Fran and Dave and they were hitting it off amazingly well, they were so in tune with each other that she couldn't help but smile when thinking about how hard Fran had fought against a relationship with Dave at first.
The unsub, now he was a piece of work, every third day he was causing an accident, he would never cause two accidents in the same area, always different places, he didn't want the police to be able to get a pattern and catch him, not yet anyway, not before he was with Penelope again, he had fallen in love with her the first time hd saw her and he just had to have her.
He had been watching the FBI building and of course JJ and Reids house because that was the last place he knew for sure she was, he noticed people still coming and going but not the man he'd met when he was pretending to be a delivery man, sitting there watching the house he couldn't help but wonder if they had indeed aught on and moved her somewhere else.
The unsub knew every member of the BAU team he knew where they lived, if they had any kids, their routines when they were in town, he had to know who was with and taking care of his girl because he couldn't let just anybody take care of the beautiful creature that had stolen his heart all of those months ago.
He knew that Penelope had broken her foot in the crash so he knew that she would be off work while she recovered, ohhhh how he wished he knew where she was because he needed to see her, he wanted to see her but right now her team/family was doing a good job of keeping her hidden from him, a fact that he hoped to change in the near future.
JJ and Reid had pulled up footage of security cameras to see what the man looked like that had delivered the gift to Penelope but sadly he was wearing a mask because of Covid regulations, even though they couldn't see his face they got everything else like his approximate height and weight, body build, hopefully that would be enough for them to be able to catch him soon and the sooner the better.
Meanwhile across town at Fran's house Derek and Penelope were sitting on the couch talking after he therapy session, they were talking about their day and how much they'd missed each other, they were cuddled up on the couch relaxing when Derek suggested when Penelope got better that he give her a few lessons in self defense and he's also promised to show her how he does some of the things he does at work.
She had promised to indoor rock climbing with him, she hated to admit it but she was actually looking forward to trying it, who knows maybe she'd like it, she knew one thing though she would definitely like spending time with her boyfriend, her boyfriend, ohhhh she would never tire of saying that.
