I was inspired to write this Fanfic from two stories...
Archive of Our Own
Westeros Watches A Different Future byTheNecroKing44
Westeros Watches A Different Future-Female/Adoption byShadowSinner02
Both versions is about the people of Westeros, more importantly, the main characters brought to a theater to watch their future with a twist. When I was reading both versions; I checked to see if there was an actual A Game of Thrones: In the Land of Monsters.
There wasn't and I made a comment about writing a version, and I got the blessings to write one with a female Jon Snow; Lyarra Snow. I'm also honoring the writers' idea of Ashara Dayne and Ned Stark being the parents of Lyarra Snow (Jon Snow); something different from the usual R Plus L Equal J and I hope to do this idea justice.
I'm also writing this as a TV show of sorts but still maintaining the book format; instead of story parts it'll be story arcs and the chapters are turned into episodes with a set of acts. I'm honoring TheNecroKing44 and ShadowSinner02 but I would also like to make the story my own too.
House Dayne were once Kings of the Torrentine until they swore loyalty to Nymeria and House Nymeros Martell. It'll be interesting as House Dayne are considered to be of the First Men; they might have some Magic in their blood.
Lyarra Snow will still have the blood of Kings from Dayne and Stark; it'll be equally interesting to have her inherit Magic from both sides. She is still going to be a vampire and Paladin but I don't want her to lose her connection to her First Men heritage.
So I thank you for reading this Disclaimer, I hope you'll enjoy the story and without further ado I give you...

Introduction
SHE WAS THE Bastard and Snow of Winterfell; known as Lady Snow and the Winter Rose. Lyarra Snow was the natural daughter of Eddard Stark; Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, she was his firstborn daughter despite being born a bastard.
Lord Stark loved Lyarra; she was his joy, he also loved his children by his wife equally and yet it was clear that Lyarra was his favorite. She may not bear the Stark name but Lyarra was truly a wolf and her Father was honoring the Old Ways by raising his daughter with her half-siblings.
Yet Lyarra Snow had fallen to a cruel fate; Lady Stark found a way to rid her-self of her husband's bastard and the living symbol of her shame.
What was Lyarra's cruel fate?
It took place after Lyarra made a discovery...
Act One
Catelyn Stark nee Tully watched the Bastard of Winterfell with narrow blue eyes. The girl was six namedays old in the Year 289 AC and the little tart was surpassing Lady Stark's trueborn daughter in not only beauty but skills in the womanly arts of sewing, embroidery, spinning, weaving, dancing, singing, etc.
Granted young Sansa Stark was starting to learn the womanly arts but Lady Stark did not like how Lyarra Snow was helpingher daughter in the lessons. The girl was an outsider; she didn't belong being raised in House Stark, Lady Stark would rather have the girl raised somewhere else or simply be killed likeany mongrel.
Lady Catelyn was a Tully of Riverrun in the Riverlands;Family, Duty, Honor are the words of House Tully. She was also adevoted follower of the Seven; she was raised to be a faithful wife to her husband upon marriage, to bear and raise children to be just as devoted as her to the Seven.
Her Father, Hoster Tully, instructed his eldest daughter that shemust do her duty to convert the North to worship the Seven and find a way to destroy the Godswood, and eliminate the worship of the Old Gods. At the time; Catelyn Tully was betrothed to Brandon Stark at age twelve and she was looking forward to becoming Lady Stark.
Catelyn was beautiful and she knew it; many men wanted her to be their wife even her best friend Petyr Baelish but Lord Tully wanted to convert the North and his firstborn daughter was the instrument; hence she was promised to the Wild Wolf. She was slender in figure with fair skin, long auburn hair and blue eyes; she also had high cheekbones and long fingers.
But she was also prideful; she was proud, honorable and honest, yet it was said that she looks down on the smallfolk and she was pious. Lady Catelyn practically raised her siblings; Lysa who is two years younger than her and Edmure, her younger brother and Heir to the Riverlands.
She knew how to run a household and to act as regent if her son was to young to rule. She looked forward to wed Brandon Stark but that never happened when her betrothed and his Father was murdered by the Mad King and the rebellion began!
Act Two
Lord Tully had his daughters wed as the price to join the rebellion; Catelyn married Eddard Stark and her sister Lysa married the elderly Jon Arryn. Three Moons later and the new Lady Stark found her-self pregnant while her new husband was fighting to overthrow the Mad King.
Six Moons later Lady Catelyn gave birth to a son whom she named Robb Stark and by then the rebellion was over. The Mad King and Prince Rhaegar Targaryen were dead, House Targaryen was overthrown and Robert Baratheon was now the new King of Westeros.
It took another few Moons for Lady Stark to travel into the North with the infant Robb. She was impressed when she entered Winterfell and pleased to see her husband waiting but everything changed when she brought their son to the nursery.
A baby girl, a few Moons older than Robb, was sleeping in a crib with a wet nurse nearby. She was wrapped in a lilac blanket embroidered with white direwolves howling at fallen stars and Catelyn felt a shiver go down her back.
"Who is this child?" She asked as she laid Robb in another crib and Lord Stark answered honestly: "My daughter, Lyarra Snow, she is my blood and I will raise her!"
"You broke your vows to me in siring this bastard girl;" exclaimed Lady Stark in anger. "Who is the whore who bore thisstain to my honor?"
"Lyarra's Mother was no whore;" Eddard said in defense, "she killed her-self out of grief when I broke my word to marry her. I married you out of duty, though I did not say the vows, I was drugged to consummate the marriage and I will honor our false marriage but I willnot abandonmy firstborn daughter!"
Catelyn Stark nee Tully felt like she has been slapped; but her fury at being slighted by Lyarra Snow's nameless Mother. She was Lady Stark and no bastard was going to usurp her children's inheritance.
"Your bastard daughter willnever bear the Stark name, I willtakeno part in raising her and she willnever inherit anything before thetrueborn children of House Stark;" hissed Lady Stark furiously, "Family, Duty,Honor...aremy House's words!"
"You will blame a motherless child for something that is not her fault?" Eddard spoke and his wife replied in contempt: "She's your bastard; she'llnever be a Stark but a thief to our children!"
Act Three
Lyarra Snow grew up with her Father's love; she and Robb Stark were close as two peas in a pod. It was her brother who helped her take her first step; it was her brother's name she spoke first followed by Father and Lord Stark embraced his daughter.
She heard Robb say Mama and watched Lady Stark embrace her brother, and hoping for something similar she also called out Mama to the red haired woman. The woman stiffened with Robb in her arms, she set the boy down and approached the girl.
Lyarra smiled up innocently at the woman and held her arms up hopeful for the embrace; but it never came. Instead Lady Stark struck the child hard to leave a bruise and the blow also knocked the little girl down.
"Never callme Mother, you little beast, I am not your Mother;" Lady Catelyn practically screamed at the shocked girl. "You arenot my child...you willnever be a Stark but a Snow; you willnever be family!"
Lyarra broke down crying after the woman left the nursery; it was Robb who comforted his sister by embracing her and giving her a brother's love. She didn't understand the difference as her brother bore the name of Stark and she had Snow as a last name; they were brother and sister.
But it wasn't long until Lyarra learned what her status as a bastard meant that broke her heart in a way. The young girl sensed Lady Stark was with child and she dreamed of a girl-child with fire hair, eyes of water and skin white as snow.
Lyarra told Maester Luwin that Lady Stark was going to have a girl; the Maester asked: "How do you know the Lady is bearing a girl, Lady Snow?"
"I dreamt of her; my sister will have fire hair, eyes of water and skin white as snow;" answered Lyarra matter of fact with a smile, "and she'll be named Sansa!"
It wasn't long until Lyarra's dream vision came true; the Lady of Winterfell gave birth to a daughter and named her Sansa. Robb and Lyarra snuck into the nursery to see their new sister, and the now elder sister was happy to see her dream was right.
But the siblings' shared joy was interrupted when Catelyn entered the room; the woman didn't notice her son was present as she was focused on the living symbol of her shame. Lyarra was holding her baby sister's hand with her finger and baby Sansa was smiling as she gripped the finger.
"Get your dirty hands away from my daughter, filthy bastard;" exclaimed Lady Stark startling the children and causing the baby to start crying.
The wet nurse on duty was a loyal servant of House Tully who migrated to the North with her family, other loyal servants and a small garrison of Tully soldiers to serve Lord Tully's eldest daughter. The woman had dozed off and didn't notice the children enter the nursery; she was startled awake by her Mistress and noticed the Snow girl next to the crib, and like Lady Stark, the wet nurse didn't notice Robb Stark.
"What in the name of the Seven are you doing to the baby, bastard?" The woman said as she moved swiftly and knocked Lyarra to the floor with a smack to the head, and a shove.
Lyarra was dazed as she was roughly picked up by her arms and held in bruising grips between two guards wearing blue and mud red with a leaping silver trout; colors and sigil of House Tully.
"Take the bastard and lock her in a dark closet to reflect on her sins untilI say to release her;" ordered Lady Stark in fury as she went to calm her infant daughter.
Lyarra Snow was still in a daze as she was dragged from the room by Lady Catelyn's guards.
"What's a bastard?" Lyarra asked once she found her voice.
"Bastards are wicked creatures born on the wrong side of the blanket and are unnatural;" answered one guard with a sneer. "Bastards are born from lust, lies and weakness; they symbolize broken promises and bring shame to any Great or Noble House who acknowledge them!"
"Bastards are dangerous to the trueborn children and it goes against the Seven to raise such creatures with those who arelegal children born to legal wives;" adds the second guard in contempt. "Your kind will covet what is not yours to have, you'll doanything to steal from your half-siblings, lie, cheat and even murder!"
"No one knows who the whore was that seduced the Lord Stark to create you and the Lord of Winterfell refuses to name your Whore Mother;" continued the first guard with a shake of his head. "What was Lord Stark thinking in keeping a mongrel like you around?"
Lyarra was thrown into a windowless room and she was plunged into complete darkness when the door was slammed shut, and the sound of the lock was heard. The girl crawled until she found the door there was only a small bit of light from the keyhole and no handle where she knelt.
"Please let me out;" begged Lyarra as fear began to set in, "I'll be good!"
"A bastard like you cannever be good;" said the guard as he and his partner gave mocking laughs, and the second guard added: "Now besilent and think on your sins!"
Then a cloth was stuffed into the keyhole and Lyarra was truly left in the darkness!
Act Four
Young Robb Stark followed his Mother's guards, overheard them talk about bastards and called his sister a mongrel before tossing her into a room. He watched one guard lock the door, heard Lyarra beg to be let out, the guards cruelly laugh and one of them stuffed a rag into the keyhole.
Robb ran to his Father who was holding a meeting with his heads of staff in his solar; Maester Luwin, Ser Rodrik Cassel and Steward Vayon Poole was slightly startled when the Stark Heir barged in. The red headed young boy was a bit out of breath but he managed to say: "Mother had Lyarra locked in a windowless room, she and those who wear Tully colors called Lya a bastard!"
"What?" Ned exclaimed as he stood up from his desk in a fury.
Robb explained what had happened as he led the men to where his sister was being held; the young boy knew that he and Lya were half-siblings. Maester Luwin had explained why his sister was called Snow and he was a Stark; natural children born of or sired by nobles grow up faster because of the stigma.
But Robb Stark didn't care if he and Lyarra were half-siblings; she washis sister and he will protect her fromany harm especially from his Mother. The only difference is that his sister is all Stark but she has unique hair and eye color from her birth-mother, andhe has his Mother's coloring.
His Mother's Tully guards noticed their approach, both men paled at Lord Stark's furious look and ran away very fast with the key still in their possession. But that didn't stop Ser Cassel from kicking the door in followed by a scream and Lyarra crawling from the room as she blinked her eyes at the light.
Lord Stark felt his heart nearly break when his daughter's amethyst eyes still held fear and sadness. Lyarra Snow was the perfect blend of two houses that once held the titles of Kings.
Lyarra inherited the long face of the Starks; her hair was long and black as night, and, in certain lights there were hints of gold, amber and ember hidden until shone. Her skin was white as snow and her lips were soft, and tinted like the finest pink tourmaline; but it was her eyes a haunting violet so dark they look like amethyst.
His daughter reminded him of her late Mother whom he lost; Lyarra's Mother was the woman Eddard truly loved and wanted to marry. His current wife hehad to marry in his brother's place (more like tricked); even Brandon wanted to marry someone else but their Father wasn't going to pass up the chance to forge a better bond South of the Neck than through marriage.
Except Lord Rickard Stark and the Wild Wolf got them-selves killed in facing the Mad King when Lyanna Stark was kidnapped by the Bard Prince. Ned had to give up his heart to secure the Riverlands through marriage and his true love left him their daughter.
"Am I a bastard?" He heard his daughter ask near broken, "Who is my Mother?"
"You are my daughter and I loved your Mother very much, Lya, she was the woman Ichoosed to marry but I couldn't; instead I was forced to wed Catelyn Tully, I was drugged into consummating the marriage and your brother Robb was conceived," answered her Father sadly. "Your Mother sent ravens to tell me of her pregnancy followed by your birth but none of her messages reached me and I didn't know about you.
It was after Robert's Rebellion when I saw your Mother again and she presented you to me with such joy. But not only did I break my word to her, I also killed her brother in battle and it practically destroyed her; all our dreams were shattered by that war and your Mother fell into such despair, she tried to take you with her into death and I managed to save you but I couldn't save her!"
"What was my Mother's name?" Lyarra asked curiously and her Father shook his head as he answered: "I cannot tell you, I still love and mourn her; you are all I have left of her and I will do everything to see you grow up!"
Lyarra was silent as she walked away and found her-self in the Godswood of Winterfell; here she felt safe and she was just Lya. The Weirwood tree with its carved face silently watched the young girl's approach; the five-pointed blood-red leaves and the leaves of the surrounding trees all rustled but there was no wind.
"Robb isso lucky to have a Mother who loves him;" sighed Lya sadly, "yet Lady Stark hates me because of who my Mother was to Father but he refuses to say who she is. I wish I knew who my Mother was and know her name!"
Suddenly she caught a scent of copper like blood mixed with the scent of turned earth. It came from the Weirwood tree; the carved face was weeping blood-red sap and out of curiosity Lyarra went to the tree.
She held cupped hands below one of the carved eyes and fresh blood-red sap poured forth, and filled her hands. Lya stared at the sap, before she knew what she was doing, the young girl drank the sap from her hands.
The sap tasted like blood, earth and honey for it was also sweet; Lyarra took two more handfuls of Weirwood sap and drank them. Suddenly she felt both cold and hot; her body freezing in winter before burning in fire.
The Snow girl fainted before the Weirwood tree but her eyes were glowing complete solid white...
Act Five: Year 283 AC (Lyarra's Vision)
Robert Baratheon had won the Rebellion and was now the new King; Lord Eddard Stark, also known as Ned to family and friends, was now Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North. He was journeying through the Red Mountains of Dorne with six companions; they made their way towards a round tower that was foolishly called the Tower of Joy.
They found three members of the Kingsguard guarding the tower; Lord Commander Gerold Hightower the White Bull, Ser Oswell Whent and Ser Arthur Dayne the Sword of the Morning. Lyanna Stark, Ned's sister, was held prisoner in the tower and neither of the knights were letting anyone in.
It was seven against three; the fight that followed was fierce and deadly, five of Lord Stark's men fell to the Stranger but they also took the White Bull and Whent with them. Only Ned and Howland Reed remained to face the Sword of the Morning.
Lord Stark held his own against Arthur Dayne; the Valyrian Greatsword Ice and the sword made from a fallen star Dawn sang a deadly song. It was Reed who noticed that his Lord was going to lose and struck Dayne with a poison dagger that killed him.
The two men rushed into the Tower of Joy; they found Lyanna dying from blood lost and fever. Turns out Rhaegar Targaryen did rape Ned's sister, the Bard Prince was obsessed with prophecy and was desperate for a third child, and Lyanna was imprisoned within the tower once she became pregnant.
She had given birth to a stillborn baby girl who was malformed; Lyanna passed after her brother promised to take her and the child back to Winterfell to be buried together. Eddard Stark took a look at his stillborn niece; she looked like a humanoid lizard with wisps of white hair and her eyes were closed as if asleep.
Ned felt pity for the child and knew Rhaegar had been mad; he will honor his sister's last wish and no one will ever know of the stillborn Visneya Snow. He and Howland buried seven bodies, using stones of the tower to build cairns over them and placing shields as markers; Eddard personally escorted the body of Arthur Dayne and took the sword Dawn to Satrfall.
He was met by Ashara Dayne; the woman whom he loved and wished to marry, and now betrayed upon marrying Catelyn Tully. Before Ned could tell her anything; Ashara dragged him to a room and he saw the baby girl asleep in a crib.
"Our daughter, Ned, I named her Lyarra in your Mother's honor;" said Ashara as she took the child into her arms. "She was conceived before the Battle of the Bells; I sent you a raven when I found out I was with child after the Battle and I sent another on her birth when word of the Rebellion had ended came!"
The child was born after his marriage to his Tully bride and she became pregnant with his son; making Lyarra the eldest before Robb. Eddard felt his heart break when he finally told Ashara everything after their brief secret meeting thatone night of creating their child.
"You broke your oath to me when you married thatTully woman, despite the fact you were forced into it;" exclaimed Ashara in both sadness and fury, "I see now why my messages never reached you, someone meddled in something that wasn't their business. Our Lyarra is now a bastard and thattrout bitch stole you from me!"
"I wasn't planning to stay married to Catelyn Tully nor was I going to consummate the farse marriage," explained Lord Stark as he paced. "Yet I was drugged with an aphrodisiac somehow, it clouded my mind and now I have a son born of a Tully!"
"I know you didn't kill my brother but you still betrayed me;" said Ashara Dayne as she left the room with their child in her arms.
Eddard Stark followed his lover until they were on a tower overlooking the sea. He suddenly realized that the Mother of his first child had been battling depression after the birth or during the pregnancy; everything that has been said and done has finally taken its toll upon her.
"Ash;" he said rushing over as he embraced his love and child.
For a moment the lovers held their daughter between them...
"Goodbye my love;" was whispered before Ned was pushed back.
When Lord Stark realized what was happening; Ashara Dayne was falling backwards off the tower, their daughter was tossed high and almost followed her Mother. Eddard moved quickly and caught his daughter, rolling the child down his arms to his chest and falling to his knees away from the dangerous edge.
Lyarra was crying from being shocked awake and Ned managed to comfort his daughter. Ashara was wearing a purple dress, the bodice and skirt was decorated with star sapphires; it was her favorite dress for it looked like she wore actual stars.
Sadly she chose to wear that dress when she willingly fell from the tower and nearly took her infant daughter with her too. Her body was found broken upon the rocks; she was buried in the family crypts of Starfall.
Lord Stark was allowed to take his daughter and raise her in the North, and a wet nurse went with them. He also escorted the bodies of his sister and niece; no one noticed the tiny bundle laid to rest along with its Mother in the same crypt.
The North respected their Lord and Warden for claiming his natural daughter under the Old Ways of the North. It became a secret war between the northern servants of House Stark and the southern servants of the Lady Stark ever since the southern lady struck Lyarra for wanting a Mother!
