Naruto could be seen laying on his back panting with Jiraiya standing over him. "While that was good Naruto, you have a long way to go before I can teach you the good stuff. He sat up and huffed. "I've been training for 6 months! My chakra control is good, my taijutsu is great, and I'm finally starting to differentiate the seals you showed me. I think I deserve to learn ninjutsu now."

Jiraiya just sighed. "While you aren't doing bad for your age, I still want you to master all of the basics before I can train you in ninjutsu. We can figure out your nature affinity but until you can land a hit on me or create a fully functional sealing scroll, there will be no ninjutsu. Am I clear?"he said.

"Yeah, yeah I hear you old man" Naruto said as he slowly stood up. Jiraiya pulled out a piece of paper and Naruto immediately knew what it was. He grabbed the paper and they watched in anticipation. To their shock, the paper split into 2 pieces. One burned to ashes and the other crinkled into a ball. "Hm 3 chakra natures off the bat huh brat, that's quite impressive" said Jiraiya.

Naruto looks smugly at his father. "That's more than what you had at my age." Which resulted in a bonk across his head. "Ouch!" as he glared at his father. "Being cocky won't get you anywhere in life. You may have loads of untapped potential but without proper training and hard work, you will just be a civilian who can use chakra"exclaimed the Sage.

Naruto sighed "fine". As he readied to head back into the house they were currently staying at, his dad called out to him. He turned around only to catch a scroll. He raised an eyebrow in his fathers direction but chose to open it anyway. He gave a cheeky grin when he saw that it was a fire jutsu. "It's one of the weaker fire jutsus but it should be a good starting point"said Jiraiya.

"It's fine, I'll master this in no time!"said an ecstatic Naruto. After chuckling, Jiraiya gained a serious expression. "I will be going to Suna to talk to the Kazekage about that mercenary group I told you about, would you like to accompany me to get the hang of how shinobi villages operate?"asked a knowing Jiraiya. Naruto's eyes widened and he quickly nodded his head. Seeing this, Jiraiya smirked.

"We will be leaving for Suna in 2 weeks, if you can perform that jutsu by the time we are supposed to head out, I will give you a scroll for a wind jutsu." Naruto accepted those terms and went inside. As Jiraiya saw him close the door, a small monkey poofed in front of him. He looked at it and quickly took the scroll that was in the monkey's hands. As he read over the scroll, he just sighed. "Sensei and his vague messages"he muttered. He burned the letter and went inside the house to help Naruto get ready for bed.

Next morning

In Konoha, The third hokage could be seen sitting at his desk glaring at the paperwork. "Sometimes i wonder why i took this job back" he thought frustratedly. A knock on the door was heard and Hiruzen allowed them in. In walked a man that Hiruzen did not want to see at the moment. Said man had a cane, half of his body covered by a black cloak and an a bandaged eye.

"Danzo, what do you want?"asked the hokage. "Any word of the kyubi resurfacing?"he replied in a monotonous tone. "Not yet. The biju was defeated little over a year ago. It'll take a little while longer than that before the chakra starts to resurface." Danzo gave a nod.

"And of the Uchiha clan?"he asked. The third just glared at the crippled man. "They are becoming restless and more and more irritated day by day. We've recently moved them to the outskirts of the village so they'd have more privacy but i think that has done more harm than good." "Nonsense, as of now they can't be trusted. Their police force have been abusing their power as well. I suggest you take action and have them penalized"advised Danzo.

Hiruzen slammed his hand on the desk and growled at the man. "You are the reason we are in this mess. And you do not tell me what to do. I am the Hokage and my word is law! I will handle the uchiha clan if things become worse but until then, you stay away from them. Am i chear?"asked Hiruzen.

Danzo just nodded and walked out of the office with a blank face. After he left, Hiruzen bit back in his chair and sighed. "You know, i never liked that guy"said a voice from the window. Hiruzen chuckled softly. "Be that as it may, he is still an important figure head in the village." Jiraiya just rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah whatever"he said flippantly. Hiruzen gave a small chuckle. "It's good to see you Jiraiya."

"It's good to see you to sensei but is there any reason you needed me back in the village?" "Hm, normally you wouldn't question me about calling you back. Is there something or someone needing your attention?"the old kage asked knowingly. At this the sage lowered his head. "I could never hide anything from you huh?" "Not for long at least. I know you like the back of my hand Jiraiya."

There was a pause for a moment before he spoke. "Naruto." Hiruzen looked at him confused. "My son, his name is Naruto"spoke the man with a small smile. Hiruzen's pipe lay flat on the desk and his mouth agape. "Y-you have a son!?"he asked in shock.

Jiraiya chucked. "Yeah, he's turning 6 soon and he's a little ball of joy but the brat is deceptively clever i tell you." "Is young Naruto here? Can i meet him?"asked the hopeful man. "He's not here with me at the moment. He's probably learning the jutsu I gave him. I'll be sure to let him know that you wish to meet him though"he said.

Hiruzen smirked. "5 already and he's already learning ninjutsu, you're trying to make quite the shinobi, huh Jiraiya?" Said man just grinned sheepishly. "Believe it or not, he doesn't even want to become a ninja." At this Hiruzen was intrigued. "And why would that be?"he voiced his curiosity.

"It was a promise made by me and his mother. She passed shortly after his birth but she was aware of how special Naruto is"he said with a sad smile. "Hiruzen was surprised once again but said nothing. "And now I train him wherever i can and i plan on taking him to the sand with me, so he could meet some friends." "Hiruzen have a laugh that Jiraiya hadn't heard in ages.

Calming down, he turned towards his student. "I never depicted you as a family man. Nor ever did i think you would have time for that but I'm proud of you Jiraiya." He grinned and gave a thumbs up. "Of course. He's my son and I'll do anything to assure his safety"he said.
