Chapter22
As Octomush reaches for Nick and an unconscious Arjet, a green bubble appears around them.
The Morlock tries to break through, but finds it difficult.
"Xandread if you could deal with the other one while I handle this" he shouts while blue tendrils surround the barrier.
Xandread grumbles and turns to finish off Zolda, but he can't even turn a full 90 degrees before he hears a shout.
"Royal Arms!"
With a flash of red, the royal red ranger morphs and strikes Xandread in the leg. It does not break his skin, but it sends Xandread flying off into the rocks
"Ha!" Octomush laughs as he sees Xandread getting up, and Zolda uses this time to press the book.
"SUMMON CANNON, ROKKET, SHIELD, PYRAMID!"
The cannons fire a blast of pink wind that manage to pick Xandread up, lifting the nighlok high in the air until the gust stops.
As the Nighlok falls, Zolda let's lose everything, hitting Xandread with all the fire power he has.
Unfortunately, As soon as Xandread lands, he recovers. The Nighlok lands feet first, making a break for Zolda and using the same attack he used on Jaden.
Once more there's a loud crack, and every weapon but Zolda's sword is broken.
The royal red ranger is sent careening into the rocks around him, all the wind leaving his body as he fails to find breath.
Xandread gives him no time to recover and jumps in the air, landing his two feet directly on Zolda's chest. The man almost looses consciousness, but he manages to hold on and press the sword once more.
"SUMMON SWORD"
an energy blade comes out the book blade first, this one cutting through the Nighloks leg like butter.
Xandread jumps off the man, which allows Zolda to breath and pick up the new sword. The hilt is mechanical and has a wire attached to the bottom, said wire attaching itself to the bottom of his main blade's hilt, causing it to gain an orange glow.
He now dual wields and moves with shaky legs.
His body moves on instinct,doing moves he never could before. Xandread brings his hand down and Zolda parries, then Nighlok tries to trip Zolda up, but his stance is perfect.
"You're moving like Jaden, weird" , is all Xandread says before he kicks it up a notch.
The two white sash's on his shoulders lash out and grab Zolda, but both blades cut through them with ease. Zolda can't celebrate however as the sash reattached themselves, almost they were made of flesh.
Xandread raises his hand, and what materializes is a bullzooka, identical to Jadens.
The Nighlok fires and the blast is to big to dodge, it could possibly destroy anything in its general direction. So Zolda does the next best thing.
He crosses his swords together and hopes for the best.
What should have been an instant death for the royal red ranger doesn't pan out that way. Instead the energy blade retracts, the blast of energy being sucked in and traveling through the wire into Zolda's main blade.
Xandread fires again, but Zolda slashes the blade down, a wave of energy coming out and slashing the bullzooka in half, while loping off one of the nighloks arms.
Xandread wails in agony as the injury won't heal, the arm disintegrating into dust.
"What is that blade!?" Xandread screams, but Zolda doesn't answer, instead he goes for the kill.
Xandread tries to block, but he makes a mistake. He tries to block with his dominant hand that was attached to the arm Zolda just chopped off.
A metal blade slashing through the shoulder of Xandread is what Zolda envisioned, but that's not what happens. Instead, he was grabbed by blue tendrils and brought to Octomush.
"What an odd blade" he says while reaching out to touch the tip of the sword. Sparks fly as his hand is pushed back by some unknown force.
"Magic? Tech? No it's a bit of both, there are several different power sources inside the sheath, which charge the blade. How truly curious "
Zolda struggles against the blue tendrils as Xandread finally calms down from his recent dismemberment.
"Give that brat to me, Octomush, I'm swapping every hole in his body."
"That's…unnecessarily brutal " Octomush replies as he begins to hand the bound red ranger to the Nighlok.
Just as Zolda thinks it over, a blue jeep slams into Xandread.
All the remaining Royal rangers are here, all but Kyle are fully morphed. Toxala jumps out of the vehicle and tries to slam down on Octomush with an overhead strike.
The tendrils grab her, but Octomush is unprepared for the sheer strength the Yellow Royal has. She runs in the opposite direction, pulling Octomush along with her as she begins to spin rapidly.
As the Morlock is stuck in a cyclone of his own making, he releases his hold on the woman, flying into nearby rock and mud.
Dialect comes out of the vehicle normally and presses her book, five vehicles coming out and sworming Octomush, the samurai zords joining in.
Octomush tries to blast the annoyance away, but Jaden slams his fire smasher into the Morlocks back.
"H-how?" Xandread groans out, trying to push the car off him.
Kyle peeks his head out the jeep, "hey Zolda, did you know these Morphers can heal other rangers?"
Zolda, who has broken out of his bindings, answers. "No, I didn't know that. Can you heal Arjet?"
"Don't think so, I think this thing has recharge time? I can't even morph right now." He says while running to Arjet and Nick's side.
Thruster calls the vehicle back, it folds and shrinks back into its book form as he presses his book five times.
As the smaller versions of the turbo zords appear, the sudden disappearance of the vehicle Xandread was using all his one armed might to push causes him to fall forward.
Thruster takes his blunder as the opportunity to strike, kicking the Nighlok in the chin and sending his summons to grab Xandreads joints.
Zolda sees this as his chance, using all his might and whatever charge the blade has left to slash at Xandread.
The Nighlok is just barely able to move his arm in the way. The strike cleaves through his arm and hits his face, but whatever boost the sword got from absorbing Xandreads blast wears off there.
Blue tendrils come out of the ground and grab Xandread, pulling him to a recovered Octomush.
"The loss of both of your arms, how embarrassing" Octomush shakes his head as the tendrils wrap around both he and Xandread.
"No!NO! DONT YOU DARE!! Xandread howls as the tendrils squeez the two together.
Jaden and Nick know what's coming, the former rushing to stop it, the latter trapped in the strange bubble.
None are able to stop however, and with a sickening sound combined with a cloud of smoke.
The two monsters fuse.
The smoke cloud fills the area, it feels almost solid as speed it comes out causes the bubble protecting Nick and Arjet to break.
As soon as the smoke appears, it disappears, leaving everyone to look at the newly forming Octomush.
"He looks kinda like…?" Kyle begins as he looks at the monster.
"A ranger" Zolda finishes.
Sure enough, the new form of Octomush the master looks like a flesh armored ranger, it's color red and black with bits of blue. He is covered in fireheart's armor, but also has the cloak of the super samurai, although that too is black with red and blue trimming.
Octomush raises his hand, and Jaden demorphs. Both his and Nick's Morphers went to the Morlock's side.
He doesn't move, he seems to be engrossed in his new form.
Sensing the change in tide, Zolda runs to Thruster and gives him the samurai book.
"Why are you giving this to me?"
"It goes in the middle slot, mine is already filled by the zero book, you have an empty space.
Thruster takes the book, and Zolda rushes to Octomush, Toxala joining him.
"Eat this!" Toxala shouts as she shoots lightning at the Morlock.
The lighting circles around Octomush as it seems he still hasn't realized what's happening.
Zolda screams out, "Toxala shot lightning at me!
"What?"
"Just do it! All you got!"
The yellow Royal obeys, fires all the lightning she has Zolda. The red royal holds the hilt out, absorbing the lighting and letting it travel through the cable and into the blade.
With this new boost, Zolda swings the blade and strikes Octomush in the head. There is a loud clang and the shock wave topples trees miles ahead.
And doesn't even leave a scratch.
"Hmh…" Octomush has finally noticed the two, and simply waves his hand.
The two are sent flying away, and the mystic Force book flies out of Toxalas pocket and tries to go to The Morlock's side, but it stops half way.
Kyle holds his hand out, and the book flies to him instead.
He is joined by Thruster, who opens his new book along with Kyle, the robot placing his blade back in the sheath.
"SAMURAI FOREVER! A POWER PASSED DOWN BY BLOOD, THESE RANGERS MIXED THE NOW WITH THE PAST!!
"LET'S GO LET'S GO LET'S GO LET'S GO!! A GREAT LEGACY SPARKED BY ONE SMALL DEED. BELIEVE IN MAGIC AS THESE RANGERS DID!"
The two place the books in the middle slots.
"POWER RANGERS: SAMURAI"
"POWER RANGERS:MYSTIC FORCE"
As both rangers pull their blades free, a new call comes from the morpher.
"TWO VOLUMES! UNLOCKED!"
