Chapter 23: well isn't that interesting
The twos morph wasn't a flash of light like before, instead it was more akin to a pillar of blue and pink. From the outside, all could just vaguely see bits and pieces of the samurai and MF rangers stories respectively. Like a movie showing on a fuzzy screen.
Two figures propel themselves out of the pillars of light, swinging their blades at Octomush.
Thruster's suit is now sporting blue armor at its center, identical to Zolda's center armor, but with the samurai rangers symbols on his chest.
Kyle is the same, pink armor in the center with various symbols representing the mystic Force rangers.
There's a loud clang as the Morlock blocks the attacks with his bare hands, the fleshy armor of his feeling more like metal than actual meat.
Both pink and blue rangers spin and attempt to slash their targets abdomen, but once again he blocks. Octomush doesn't even move as two tendrils spring out of his back and try to grab the rangers.
Almost immediately, both rangers slam down the center books, but unlike the others, there's no summon. Both books just ask "WHICH ELEMENT?"
"Fire" both rangers respond, and both tendrils Octomush send out immediately burst into flames. However Kyle clearly did more damage.
Octomush raises his arm, and the ground shakes. The mountain behind him raises out the ground, his intention to crush the remaining rangers.
Once more, both blue and pink press the book and call out "wood".
Vines wrap around the mountain and pull it back down, the ones Thruster summoned being as thick as a king sized bed, while Kyle's were as large as a house.
No time is offered for Octomush as the rangers move Infront of him just as the mountain makes impact with the ground again.
Both rangers join hands as they call out "Wind", and two large vortexes converge into one, sending the Morlock high into the air.
Octomush breaks free just as the two jump high enough in the air to be right above him.
With hands still joined they call out, "Water".
Water comes out of their hands with enough pressure to cut diamond, it doesn't break Octomush's skin, but it does send his m plummeting back down to earth.
Once more there no time offered to the Morlock, blue and pink don't even begin falling before they call out "lightning"
Night turns to day as the sky brightens from the oncoming attack, a giant bolt of lightning strikes the spot where Octomush is.
Zolda and the others are just barely able to run away as the lighting strikes, a deafening rumble being followed by the breaking of earth. Nick and Arjet remain fine thanks to the barrier.
"Again" both say as an identical attack hits the same spot, at this point the trees have long since burned away.
"Again"
The air shakes and the terrain is ruined from the attack, the once dead forest area, covered in mud and moss, has turned into nothing more than a crater of dried dirt.
"Again"
The dirt has been essentially glassed over from the intense heat, the spot where Octomush was is now smoking and exiting a foul smell.
When both rangers finally fall to the ground, Thruster lets go of Kyle's hand and takes a knee, the exhaustion of so many large attacks taking a toll on him.
However Kyle seems unaffected.
"HOLY SHIT!!" Screams Toxala, looking at the now glass crater.
The other rangers slide down into the crater, most having trouble walking on the freshly made glass.
"Is he dead?" Toxala asks as she stares into the craters center, she can only see smoke, and the smell is causing everyone but her to gag.
"Not dead"
Everyone turns to face the crater, but Octomush is behind them all already. One of his wings is gone, and his visor is broken, revealing a myriad of eyes.
Both Thruster and Kyle try to send another lightning strike, but Octomush knocks Thruster away.
"You are not suited for magic…machine"
He grabs Kyle by the throat, lifting him up and taking a close look.
"But you…you are to suited for this, it's not natural"
The other rangers try to save their team mate, but the Morlock dashes away, still observing Kyle.
"Oh ... .OH" He exclaims, the eyes all moving in different directions as he examines the royal pink ranger.
"Did you know magic is somewhat seniant, it helps only those who believe in its power"
Octomush's hand clasps tighter around Kyle's throat. The pink ranger sends a blast of wind in the Morlocks face, this takes out a few eyes, but Octomush stays his gaze, all the eyes completely fixed on Kyle.
"With you it's different, the magic isn't allowing you to tap into it because you believe in it, but because it's genuinely terrified you'll tap into something worse if you can't use it"
Octomush pulls Kyle close, all of the Morlock's eyes moving erratically again.
"So this leaves me with one question, What. Are. You?"
Just as things start to go black for Kyle, Octomush is swallowed by a giant T-Rex.
Toxala grabs Kyle and runs off just as Octomush uses an unknown spell to free himself, said spell causes the T-Rex summon to explode.
Octomush wastes no time going for Kyle again, completely obsessed with finding out the pink ranger's origin.
"What are you!?" He screams, and Kyle only responds by pressing the book twice.
"BIND" the book calls out as chains of various sizes wrap around Octomush.
It takes the Morlock 5 seconds to break free, and in those 5 seconds the red, blue, and green Royal rangers, as well as the red samurai ranger slash down at his remaining wing.
The wing goes flying off, and Octomush's screams are cut off by three blades striking his head.
All but one of his eyes are gone, and Jaden uses the massive blind spot of his to jam his blade into the Morlocks head.
The sword goes in just enough to where the other end is poking out the back of Octomush's skull. He goes dead silent, not moving a muscle as the other rangers can only assume that was the killing blow.
Until the screams start.
A howl that's the combined noise of Octomush, Xandread, and fireheart. With the intense scream comes a wave of energy that forces everyone down to the floor.
No one can move while the deafening whale is filling their ears, no one except for Toxala, who is moving through sheer muscle.
She forces herself right in front of Octomush, grabbing the hilt of the blade penetrating his skull…
And pushing it down.
In one fell swoop, the red samurai ranger's blade travels from the Morlock's skull to his neck, then his chest, then his stomach, and finally his groin, only stopping when it hits the glassy floor.
The royal yellow ranger cut the Morlock almost completely in two.
Two things happen the moment Toxala does this. One is the bubble surrounding Nick and Arjet finally pops, both of which have mysteriously healed thanks to it.
The second is the seemingly dead Octomush flies into the sky. Purple smoke fills the horizon as Jaden and Nick's Morphers fall from sky, along with the black box and an exhausted fireheart.
The cloud shrinks in size and takes shape, revealing a megazord sized Xandread and Octomush.
Octomush immediately tries to crush the rangers, but is stopped by a giant fist to the face, it was Xandread.
"You betrayed me!"
"Xandread, we are on borrowed time right now, we can settle this later, but for now we need to absorb those powers again.
Xandread doesn't listen, pulling a giant blade out of thin air and striking Octomush.
Jaden watches the Titans fight, but he is drawn away as he sees Nick with his black box and morpher, placing an still unconscious Arjet on fireheart's back.
"Take her home, and stay there, alright bud"
The dragon lets out a ragged breath and flies off. Nick throws the black box and samurai morpher to Jaden, not even looking in his direction.
Nick and Jaden morph once more, legendary warrior and Super samurai mode respectively.
Jaden places the special spin disk he and Jaden made into his sword and spins it, causing the ground to rumble.
A giant red bull megazord comes from the north, flames surrounding its body.
As Jaden spins the disk faster, the bull megazord changes, or rather its legs do.
Rather than its black color, the legs change to a white gold and red.
Jaden stops spinning the disk, and he and Nick are whisked away into the zord, and something else happens.
Flaming bird wings some out the zords back, and a staff is formed by its side.
"Flaming bull megazord!!" Both red rangers scream out as they go to finish off the two villains.
The royal rangers regroup, Zolda already making his decision.
"We gotta help"
"WHAT!?"
Everyone jolts from the sudden scream of Toxalas, who keeps yelling.
"THAT SCREAM MESSED ME UP, I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING!!"
Dialect sighs in annoyance, "that…will get aggravating fast"
"WHAT!?"
Zolda flinches again as he grumbles, "just call your zords, she'll catch on."
"WHAT!?"
The others ignore her as they call the royal Zords and prepare to finish this battle.
