Code Lyoko: Evolution Season 2

I am writing a second season to Evolution. It will explain the backstory of the supercomputer, the mysterious organizations hinted through Aelita's flashbacks, further the story of the Lyoko Warriors and the characters surrounding them, add new characters, and is guaranteed to have a satisfying ending. I hope that people will like it and want me to animate it at a later point.

I. HAVE. RETURNED!

So, I did not expect to take this long of a break. I really wanted to keep up and continue writing after my short break. However, to explain why I haven't been back, I'd like to share a story.

When I initially started this series, I wrote 7 episodes and then realized those were complete garbage. That's when I decided to write a literary bible to organize my ideas into a series. What you've read so far is a result of that planning and organization. During the break, I took a look at my design document for the series going forward. I realized it didn't contain the original spirit Code Lyoko had that drew me and so many others to it. Enough so that all these years later, we, as a community, still want to contribute to it.

So, I essentially started over from scratch. This meant getting advice from beta readers, reworking the backstory I had designed to answer some of the questions to the series, planning ahead for what I wanted to do with all the characters and their development, but importantly, asking myself what would make me want to read/watch the story I'm writing.

What has happened in this time? özberk özen has started animating his Code Lyoko story which has lit a considerable fire under me to get back to writing so I can start animating mine, IFSCL has gotten a story mode that is coming close to a Code Lyoko game that recreates the feeling of the show into game form.

In a lot of ways, you can consider the story going forward my third draft. I've learned to let go of a lot of my ideas and to prune the story into not just a manageable shape, but great story to explore and read and not just a big melting pot of every possible idea for the series. I've learned to simmer things down, not make the story so complex as to require Sherlock and Einstein to combine forces to figure things out. (Not saying that won't happen in the future)

So when are the next few episodes going to come out? Well, I will say that the plan for 5 episodes split between the arcs is still in motion. And I said it would take 2-3 months from when I returned to put them out. I'm approaching the finish line of the newly refurbished design document for the series and have rough drafts for most of the episodes written. And since the thing that I know will get me to work is a timetable, expect the episodes published on October 1st, 2021. In some way, shape or form, they will be up by then.
