Finally I'm posting the tenth chapter! Ah I'm so excited! I hope everyone likes where I'm taking this. I may end up editing this in the future so stay tuned for updates. Happy reading!

Chapter 10 (Danny's POV)

"What are you working on?" Tucker's voice comes from my left, startling me out of my focus.

"Just one of the stories for Abby. I'm trying to write this scene but I can't figure out how I want it to go…" Sam, Tucker and I were sitting in a secluded area of the park waiting for Cheyenne and Valerie to show up. After class, we decided to have everyone meet for our usual park meeting. Though this time we're actually in the park.

"What's it about?" Tucker scoots closer to me while he speaks, leaning up against the side of the tree I'm resting on.

"It's the death scene for the main character, but I can't figure out how I wanna write it. I know what I want it to be like, but the words aren't coming to me." Sam looks up from her resting place on my legs to reach towards the journal.

"Can we read it? Maybe we can help you brainstorm." I hand her the journal as she reaches for it.

"Sure, any help I can get on this would be great..." Leaning my head against the back of the tree I close my eyes and listen to the sounds around me. At the sudden sound of footfalls to the right I tense, readying myself for action.

"God could you have picked a more out of the way place…?" I hear Valerie's voice grumbling past the brush. Nodding to my friends we stand, putting the journal back in my backpack.

"Glad you guys could find us."

"Me too, what's with the path to get here? I swear we were walking in circles for twenty minutes…" Chey looks back on the path they just came from and I watch as Sam and Tucker share a grin.

"Do you want the technical answer or the english one?" Tucker says from beside me with a mischievous grin. Valerie huffs a laugh before replying.

"English will do." she says, rolling her eyes fondly at the techno geek.

"Basically, this part of the park is so heavily submerged in ecto energies that it causes the natural paths to move around. This is actually a hotspot for natural portals, however we have a… device that can counter that, so there's nothing to worry about." Tucker smirks at me while he says the last part and I struggle to contain my grin. A device, right.

"So are we ready to get started?" Sam speaks up for the first time since they got here, slowly moving us to the center of the clearing. Sitting in a small circle I watch Chey give Valerie a nervous glance before looking towards the ground.

"So… what are we here for?"

"We need to come up with a plan for the disaster of a trip Danny's parents are planning. But in order to do that we need to get a better understanding of each of our positions. Who wants to go first?" Sam smirks at me as I cringe. I hate this part…

"Chey, what do you know about the ghost boy?" Is how I start my explanation. Glancing toward her with a gentle smile.

"You mean Danny Phantom? Well… I know he's been the town protector for almost four years, along with the huntress. I know he's a scientific anomaly who seems to change his appearance as the years go by. Most people in the scientific community don't know why this happens, however I have a theory..." At this she trails off and looks at the ground.

"What's your theory?" I hear Tucker ask from beside me.

"Well… it doesn't really seem possible… However, it's the only thing that really makes sense. Danny Phantom changes his appearance over time. Specifically, he seems to grow older. The dead can't age, so the only thing that makes sense is that he's not… fully dead... I don't know if that's really a possibility though… It's just the only thing I can come up with. On the other hand I share the majority of the public's opinion on him. I think he's trying to help. In fact I'm pretty sure that's his obsession, saving people." Cheyenne looks squarely in my eyes as she finishes, and I can't help but think she has a better inkling of why I was asking then she explained. I smile at her and nod.

"That was a brilliant deduction on your part. Even the biggest names in the scientific community haven't put together that Danny Phantom is still alive. Well, half alive. I had a feeling you were smarter than you let others see."

"Why did you ask about Danny Phantom?" She seems curious even through the blush on her face, I smirk at Sam who's practically drooling next to me. The glare in return is worth it.

"Well, that's our secret. Sam, Tucker and I fight ghosts. And I-"

"Am Danny Phantom, right?" Cheyenne cuts in. I smile and nod, standing to transform in front of them. The white rings slowly encase my body as they change me from ordinary Danny Fenton to superhero Danny Phantom. I smile at the awed look on Cheyenne's face, floating to sit cross legged a couple inches off the ground.

"I think it's my turn now, show off." Valerie smirks at me while she says this, standing up to touch the bracelet around her wrist. I watch as Cheyenne's jaw drops at seeing the Huntress transform.

"Oh my god! The Huntress is my favorite!" Cheyenne says loudly, garnering a pout from Sam. I smirk at her as I transform back, watching Valerie do the same.

"So, I think it's time you told us your secret." Tucker says, moving the topic to Cheyenne. I watch Cheyenne turn three different shades of red before glancing toward Valerie, who's giving an encouraging smile in return.

"Okay… so… I went to a self defense class a while back, near sophomore year. I lived in a rough part of town so my parents wanted me to be able to protect myself. The thing is. I was nearly undefeatable in class, but not because I was a good fighter. There were some… incidents… that kept happening…" She trails off at this, prompting Sam to smile again in encouragement. Cheyenne smiles back hesitantly as she picks up where she left off. "Basically, whenever I had to fight someone, something weird happened. Sometimes people tripped over stuff they swear wasn't there before, sometimes something fell over and distracted them, but it was never consistent and I couldn't really control what happened. It just did, and I was able to win the fight because of it. That's how I got the nickname Jinx…" Her blush was radiant as she told us her old nickname. I want to laugh at the look on Sam's face.

"So… Can you still do any of that? Like, obviously you don't know how to control it, but does it still work?" Tucker speaks up from beside me.

"Not that I know of, but I'm a better fighter now, so it might just be that I don't need it anymore. I haven't had the chance to fight someone who was stronger than me in a while, so I don't know if it's still… a thing…" Valerie grinned from across from me, speaking up for the first time since Cheyenne began her story.

"Well, there's one way to find out." She says, glancing between me and Cheyenne.

"I'm down. It's important to know whether you can still affect things like that. Never know when that could come in handy." I start to stand up, holding my hand out for Chey to take. I watch Sam walk over to our bags to take out the couple of flashlights we brought and a whistle. Why does she have a whistle on her…?

"If we're gonna do this we're gonna need to set some ground rules. First of all, Cheyenne, don't use all your strength to hit Danny. He's more durable then the rest of us so you could hurt yourself if you hit him too hard. Danny, don't use all your strength, we don't want anyone getting hurt. Also, no powers for you, Danny. Anyone want to add anything?" Sam asks, walking around the clearing to place the flashlights.

"So long as Sam is refereeing I think we'll be fine. Just make sure to whistle when they need to stop." Tucker adds, taking his PDA from his pocket to record. I watch as Cheyenne starts to stretch before closing my eyes to connect with the ecto energies in the air. To my left I hear Valerie whispering to Tucker.

"What's he doing?"

"He's connecting his ecto energy to the energy around us, it gives him the ability to sense where everything is. In a planned fight this is an advantage because it allows him to maneuver easier. In a fight where he can't do this there's the chance his clumsiness will come into play." I can hear the laugh in Tucker's voice as he says the last bit. Finally, I open my eyes to see Cheyenne just finishing up her stretches.

"Are you ready?" She nods at me and begins to get into a fighting stance in the middle of the clearing.

"Remember guys, if you hear me blow the whistle you have to stop. No powers for Danny and don't use all of your strength, either of you." Sam took up position across from us to have a good vantage point of the fight. Tuck and Valerie sat down next to each other by the tree line to watch.

"Ready?" Sam asks one last time. At both of our nods, she brings the whistle to her mouth. PHWEEET!

And now, they fight! Oof I'm so excited to finally be able to update. I hope everyone liked this chapter! Make sure to send me a message with any ideas you have for the story. I'm super open to adding things. I'll post the next chapter soon! I've got a good amount written now so I'll try to keep updating somewhat regularly. Thank you guys!
