Charlie groaned as she sat near her bedroom window, surveying her dystopian world. It had been a few weeks since her argument with her father and things had taken a downward plunge.

Despite her best efforts, no demons they advertised her idea to seemed to be interested. They were met with mockery and hate whenever they approached others and no matter how nice or sweet Charlie was, all the demons merely brushed her off once they heard what she was selling.

The ideal plan in her mind was to get a customer and THEN advertise it on the big screen however reaching step one was a lot harder than she and Vaggie anticipated.

They spent countless hours trying to find someone willing to give the Redemption Plan a chance, but no one was interested in what she was advertising. Her optimism and patience had waned, and she was trying to figure out what she was going to do now that things weren't going to go on as planned.

Charlie flinched when she noticed her phone buzzing. She picked it up and tensed when she saw it was Lucifer.

'Fuck..what does he want? Maybe it's an apology...Probably isn't but I should keep my hopes up for once...' She sighed before reluctantly answering the phone, "What do you want with me this time?"

"Charlie, is that anyway to speak to your Father? I expect some respect…"

"Not in the mood to kiss your ass, Lucifer. I've got bigger problems and I don't have time for your bullshit. You better be calling me for a good reason else I'm hanging the fuck up…"

"Well, I was just calling to check in on you. Lilith insisted I talk with you since we didn't exactly leave off on good terms."

"Oh gee, I wonder why that is? Perhaps it had something to do with you putting down my ideals…"

"Your ideals are childish hogwash. The hotel is doomed to failure, Charlie, I'm just trying to get you to understand that your dreams are bound to fail. There is no point in trying to get demons to improve, they are incapable of changing and trying to make them change will get you nowhere. Tell me, have you even found anyone willing to give your project the time of day?"

"That's not the point-"

"Answer me, Charlie. Have you or have you not found anyone willing to give your idea a go?"

Lucifer was me with silence on the other end, Charlie refusing to answer. The Princess clenched her fist as she could practically sense her father's grin widening from the lack of a response, his ego boosting faster by the second.

"I thought as much," He chuckled, "Figures nobody would sign up. I can hardly blame them, the denizens of Hell take pride in their sinful nature and the idea of trading that for some pipedream in Heaven would be absurd. Don't tell me you're still trying to advertise, not even the most desperate soul is going to sign up for your absurd idea, Charlie. Your idea is a joke and nobody is going to sign up for something so laughable. You may as well close up shop here and now and come back home so we all pretend this never happened-"

"No," She said firmly, "I'm not giving up just because you want me to. I don't care if everyone alive is against me, I WILL make my ideals work, no matter how long it takes…"

"Oh really? And how do you expect that to work when no denizen of Hell is willing to give you a chance? Your ideas are so absurd not even the most desperate demons are willing to take it. Do you really think you're going to change anything? Because I'll tell you what, Charlie, you will be nothing but a failure if you keep believing in these nonsensical delusions about 'self-betterment' and 'hope'. That doesn't exist down here and the faster you get with the program, the sooner we can put this tedious chapter of our lives behind us."

"Funny, am I listening to the man who defied his own Father for his own ideals? A bit hypocritical to put my ideals down when you stood up for yourself ..."

"My ideals made actual sense, I desired freedom, you just desire some nonsensical pipedream…"

"To you that is, but unlike you, I usually give a damn about someone other than myself and I'm tired of the endless cruelty of this realm. If you can't understand my dream, the least you could do is not berate and judge me for my ideals because I'm at least trying to improve this hellhole…"

"Heh, is that so eh? Well then, Charlie, know this, you'll realize that I'm right, one way or another. Eventually once this backfires you'll be right back where you started, back with me. So enjoy yourself while you can, maybe once it finally dawns on you how absurd your idea is you'll realize your true potential and recognize your place amongst the rest of us adults…"

"Adults?" Charlie snapped in an offended tone, "I'm not a child, Lucifer. I'm well over two hundred years old and I don't appreciate being infantilized."

"If you want to be treated like an adult, Charlie, then perhaps you should act like it and abandon your childish ways before it gets you hurt. I'm only trying to protect you…"

"Protect me? No, you're trying to protect your ego. You just don't want to look bad and you're trying to put me down before my idea gets on the news. Don't think I can't see through you and your lies. You may be able to fool others, but you cannot fool me…"

"Even if that's the case, do you really think this hotel of yours won't cause damage to our reputation? We're the Royal Family and your idea is going to make us look pathetic and weak. It'll make us look bad and we're trying to warn you before it backfires on all of us. Do everyone a favor and just give up, Charlie. You're only going to make things worse for yourself the longer you keep this up. And in the end, you'll be nothing but a disappointment, a failure in spite of what you could've been…"

"If that's the case, then I guess we aren't so different, Lucifer…"

There was a pause, Lucifer's tone darkening slightly, "What do you mean?"

"Because I bet you'd understand what it's like to disappoint a parent, wouldn't you, Lucifer? Or should I say...Samuel?" She asked, recalling the private tutors her parents had paid for educating her about her father's past eons ago. She knew the story like the back of her hand and only now did she bother to mention it against him.

"Charlie, don't you dare go there...I'm warning you…"

"Why? Wouldn't you know what it's like to disappoint a parent? After all, I'm certain if I ask Grandpa what he thought of you that he'd reply the exact same way about how you turned out. After all, you were probably his little disappointment too, so I guess we both have that in common, eh, Sam?"

The next thing Charlie knew, she was suddenly facing the brunt of Lucifer's rage and he began shouting at her like never before.

"Why you little...HOW DARE YOU! DO NOT SPEAK OF THINGS YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CHARLOTTE! HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO YOUR FATHER THAT WAY! APOLOGIZE THIS INSTANT!"

"Apologize for what? Speaking the truth? That's a new low, don't you think? Trying to silence your own daughter simply because you don't like what she said. Are you that sensitive that you can't handle the truth being thrown back at your face? I've dealt with far harsher words from not only you, but other demons . I've been called the meanest names in the book and yet I'm not losing my temper over it. Guess you're not as mature and smart as you thought you were…"

Lucifer seemed ready to scream however he cleared his throat and through thinly hidden rage he said,"Hmph. So you truly think that way, Charlie? Fine then, let's see how long you survive without me and we'll see who comes crawling back. You NEED me Charlotte and once you realize that, the better off we'll be. It's unfortunate I have to reach such lengths to get you to listen to me, but I suppose this must be done. So I'm giving you an ultimatum, either give up on your dreams now or suffer the consequences later. Once Extermination happens I'm cutting off financial aid so you'll be on your own…"

"You know I won't forgive you if you do…"

"I can live that, after all, you'll eventually realize how right I was and I am immortal, Charlie. I can wait as long as I want for you to come around. And one more thing, if you STILL insist on being stubborn...don't come back until you grow out of this childish nonsense."

Charlie froze before lowly saying, "If that's what you want...then I'll make it so. Have it your way, if you wanna play hardball then I'll make sure to up my game as well. Mark my words, you'll regret ever saying those words to me, one way or another…"

Before he could say anything else, Charlie hung up and quickly blocked his number.

The Princess narrowed her eyes as she stared at her cellular device, her breath heaving due to her racing heart. Anger and betrayal coursed through her veins as the realization took its toll…

"Son a bitch…" She growled, " I cannot believe him! He cares more about his ego than he does about me! I'm TIRED of his bullshit, I'm tired of everyone looking down on me like I'm an idiot!" She threw some of the photos off of her counter in a fit of rage, horns protruding from her skull, "I'm sick of my parents, I'm sick of this realm, I'm sick of EVERYTHING!"

After heaving for a few moments, Charlie slowly calmed down, eyes still gleaming red with fury. Just then, she heard a small voice whisper, "Hun? A-Are you alright?"

She turned around and Vaggie flinched at her expression. She must've looked rather intimidating as Vaggie looked genuinely scared by her appearance, as if she was staring at the spawn of evil right in the eye.

Charlie's expression didn't waver as she said, "Yeah. I'm fine, Vag...Just fine…"

Vaggie's eyes darted to the phone Charlie was clenching in her hand as she asked, "Charlie...who were you talking to?"

"Oh nobody important. Just my jackass of a Father, that's all…"

"I take that it didn't go well…"

"Oh it was fine actually, you know, ignoring the fact he basically is trying to pressure me into giving up my dreams because his ego got knocked down a peg."

"Hon...what did you say to him exactly?"

"Nothing much, just told him that disappointment must run in the family given how he turned out the exact opposite of how God intended him to be...As you can see, he got a little...upset about that and is basically trying to punish me by taking away my resources."

"Charlie, we just got this hotel a few weeks ago, you're telling me we're already going to lose it?"

"Yeah, Lucifer's got really pissed at me and he's trying to tear down my dreams before it even starts. But I'm not gonna let him have his way so easily. If he thinks I'm just gonna roll over and come crawling back to him then he has another thing coming…"

"So what do you plan on doing? Maybe your Mom can convince him to back off. If you plead with her surely you can-"

"No, I'm not relying on Mom to bail me out again. It probably won't work anyway, Lucifer isn't a moron, he's gonna tell Lilith to sit this one out so I can't turn to her for help. He wants me to come crawling back and our funds end the moment Extermination comes to close meaning we'll have to act with the time we still have…"

"But how are you doing that, Charlie? You can't support yourself with the funds. What are you going to do, run away and start anew until you can figure yourself out?"

Charlie grinned, "Great idea, Vag!"

"What? Charlie, I was just joking-"

"But your idea is perfect! What better way to show Lucifer that I can handle myself than to drop off the grid? If he thinks I can't function without him then this is the ultimate way to prove him wrong!"

"Charlie, you can't do that…"

"And why not? What's stopping me?"

"Oh I don't know, your parents? Do you really think Lucifer and Lilith will appreciate you dropping off the grid without contacting them? You don't even know how long you'll be gone, this isn't something you can do willy nilly…"

"Relax, Vag. I've already got a plan cooking up. You gotta trust me on this, I know what to do…"

"You sure?"

"Yeah, I got this covered…" The Princess then pulled out an extra phone from her pocket.

"Where did you get that?"

She shrugged, "I bought an extra phone not too long ago on the off-chance I lost my original one. Never used it up until now but considering I'm on the clock it's best I use this to start over. I've got all my finances and personal information on this phone so I have to transfer it over to this one under a new name so nobody notices anything…"

Charlie then began transferring specific information into her phone, mainly her money. Her parents had loaded her with tons of money so Charlie privately transferring this money into a different account took little effort as she was stacked with funds.

She then created an alternate identity for herself, her next thought was going to google and researching how to fabricate an alter ego for herself so she'd be able to hide from her parents longer.

With the help of the internet, Charlie researched ways to obtain a false ID. It was incredibly common in Hell for people to get new IDs, sinners and hellborns alike often did so to get away from whatever past plagued them and Charlie was far from the first person who thought of doing this sort of thing.

It was rather easy, Hell's standards were rather lax and if you had money people were willing to hand you things without too much resistance.

The only issue was...what would her identity be? Charlie had a fairly recognizable face so she wasn't quite sure how to hide herself in a convincing manner….

"Hmmm….I wonder how to pull this off in a convincing manner? I'm too recognizable as I am and they might report something if my parents ask…"

"Hell if I know. Maybe you could disguise yourself as a guy, maybe they'd fall for that," Vaggie suggested in a half-joking manner before pausing when Charlie grinned, "Wait...you're not actually considering it are you?"

"Course I am, your idea is genius, Vag! This'll be perfect! Though I don't really have any boy clothes. Do you think you can get some for me? I'll hand you money so you can pay for it…"

"I dunno Hun, this sounds really reckless…"

"Hey, if you want, you can always come with me! That way we can travel together!"

"That sounds...nice but I'm still worried about your parents' reaction when they realize you're gone…"

"They'll live…" She said, "Trust me, this is gonna be worth it. Trust me, Vag…"

"I...I'll try. I just hope nobody notices anything before we leave…"

"They won't…" Charlie assured, "Just remember the plan. Get me those clothes and I'll go out and get myself an ID/Birth certificate so I can sneak out undetected. Once that's through we'll be all set considering you don't have much of a reputation."

"Fair...I just hope you know what you're doing, Charlie. There's no going back once we do this…"

"I know, but this is for the future and I gotta show Lucifer who's boss. By the end of this he's gonna regret saying those words to me if it's the last thing I do…"

Vox growled as he sat in his watchtower. He, Velvet and Vark had been staying at the watchtower for the past few weeks. With Extermination close, Vox was trying to take his mind off the fight he and Val went through.

Normally he would've just gone back to Val by now, but this fight was different. Whenever he and Val fought it was usually over some petty bullshit that was just between them, Velvet never really got involved, let alone physically getting hit. Even if it was an 'accident', Vox refused to trust Val around Velvet.

Over the few weeks, Valentino had tried to guilt-trip Vox into coming back and threatening him over the phone. Whenever Vox uploaded a picture on his Vox-stagram Val insulted him in the comment section.

Hell, it was becoming clear Val was stalking him everywhere on social media. Val was constantly following is every move and wouldn't leave him the fuck alone, sending him disturbing DM's and saying the nastiest things from the comforts of his Studio.

By now, Vox's patience had waned and no matter how hard he tried to ignore Val, the fucker always came back. Block Val's account? He creates another one. Block his number? Creates another one. Change your number? Somehow gets your number and spams you threatening texts by the dozens.

No matter how hard he tried, Val just wouldn't quit it.

'Dammit!' The TV Demon hissed as he stared at his phone that was blown up with threatening texts, 'He won't leave me the fuck alone! Why won't Val take the fucking hint and fuck off?'

The latest text was basically Val unloading a rant on him and viciously tearing through him at his vulnerable points. Normally Vox would brush it off but what Val said on the text still made him gape in disbelief.

He then peered at the phone as he reread Val's text…

Val: You know you can't ignore me forever babe. You think you're slick by blocking me, don't you? You think you can avoid me, don't you? You know you can't hide from me, Voxy. I know where you live, you can't hide in that Tower forever. You know you NEED me, why don't you quit hiding and come back? Baby Doll no doubt misses her Daddy and you hoarding her ain't good for her mental health…

Vox knew he shouldn't respond, he knew he'd be giving Val what he wanted but he was so sick of Val's bullshit that he just wanted to show him what for. So, Vox sent a message in response.

Vox: Will you just fuck off, Val? I don't need your sorry ass in my life. Why can't you take the hint and go fuck yourself? Don't you already have a bunch of whores to stick your pathetic dick in? Vel don't need your ass and I sure as hell don't need you. Stop fucking contacting me and fuck off…

Val: Aw, so you finally decided to speak up, huh, baby? Just couldn't ignore me any longer, could you? Think you're tough but we both know that without me, you wouldn't be who you are. I'm the one who built you up, Vox. If it weren't for me showing you the ropes you'd be just like the other sinners in Hell, scrambling for scraps to survive and this is how you show your gratitude? You ungrateful little wench! After all these years you decide to leave me? After everything I've done for you?

Vox: Done for me? Bitch, you fucking treated me like trash for decades! I've been putting up with your ungrateful bullshit for years! I've done everything for you but even when I bend over backwards to appease you, it's never good enough for you! I've bought you gifts, I've paid for all our dates, I even canceled meetings for you and how do I get repaid for my gratitude, smashed screens, emotional bullshit and fights over shit the pettiest shit imaginable. You've cost me thousands of dollars for screen repairs you jackass and you never even bother to fucking apologize you piece of shit!

Val: Only because you anger me, baby. If you hadn't made Daddy upset I wouldn't have had to punish you…

Vox: Punish me? What the fuck is wrong with you? I'm not your damn whore jackass, I'm your fucking boyfriend dammit!"

Val: Whore, boyfriend, what's the difference? The ass still belongs to me at the end of the day, the distinction is irrelevant.

Vox:...Fuck you, Val... I'm done with your bullshit. We're done here. I pray the Exterminators descend upon you and your precious little Studio and burn that damn place to the ground. I'm done with your mind games, Val. Know those whores will never love you and that you'll never find another fucker willing to put up with pathetic existence ever again. Goodbye.

The moment he exited out of the app he chucked his phone right out the window and let out a frustrated scream. Moments later, Velvet came rushing down upon hearing the noise, the doll peeking her head through the hallway, "Vox? Are you alright? I heard a noise over here and I wanted to check if you were OK…."

He heaved momentarily before turning around, the doll's concern growing when he didn't respond. She crept closer, a bad feeling growing in her gut with each step.

"Vox? Are you OK?"

She slowly reached out for his shoulder only for Vox's head to snap around with a glare, a pained expression on his face.

Velvet backed away for a split second, "Vox? What happened?"

"Val happened," He growled,"Bastard can't take the hint and refuses to learn his goddamn lesson. I'm sick of his bullshit, Vel. I'm sick of putting in effort only for this fucker to throw his fist in my face over not getting the drink he wanted. I'm tired of this shit and I'm not doing this bullshit cycle anymore…"

"What'd he say, Vox? It couldn't have been that bad right? You sure it's not just another disagreement?"

"It stopped being a disagreement long ago, Vel. Val's been doing nothing but ruining my life since we broke up. Bastard thinks he owns me...I'll show him...I'll show him that he doesn't know who the fuck he's messing with…"

"Vox...what are you going to do?"

"I'm cutting him off," He said, "Val wants to play rough? Then I'll fucking play." Vox then stormed off to his computer and Velvet followed with morbid curiosity. Vox opened his computer and Velvet watched as he began removing himself from Val's assets and his connections at the drop of a hat.

"Vox, you know Val's gonna be really mad right?"

"Then let him be mad. I'm done with his bullshit and if Val thinks I'm gonna put up with him then he has another thing coming. I'll prove I don't need him and if he thinks he can guilt trip me back then he has another thing coming. By the way...mind letting me do the same to you? Don't want Val trying anything with you either…"

"Fine…" Velvet let Vox do the same to her and within a few moments, both V's were completely separated from Val in every business aspect imaginable. No shared bank accounts, no aid, nothing. All of it was gone and Vox had gone through the effort to erase all the files permanently.

"There we go…" Vox chuckled, "Now all we gotta do is wait…"

"Wait for what, Vox?"

"Wait for Val's inevitable temper tantrum when realizes we've cut him off. Oh, how I'd love to see his face when he realizes I ain't coming back." The TV Demon grinned," He's gonna be SO pissed when he sees the loss of revenue. I can't wait to see the reaction."

"So, what do we do now?"

"Hell if I know, all I know is that I'm gonna enjoy myself before Val loses his shit and has a massive meltdown that'll generate meme worthy views. Honestly with the amount of stress that bastard caused me I think I should take a goddamn vacation. What about you?"

"I could use one honestly…"

"Good, I'll try and find one we can go to. Give me time and I'll find a place we can go to. Hopefully it's before the Exorcists descend down on everyone like they usually do…"

"Good luck with that, Vox...Just hope that you know what you're doing. You know what Val's like when he's angry and he could try hurting you…"

"I'd like to see him try…" Vox said, "Because if he thinks he can treat me like a punching bag then he's got another thing coming…"

As Vox sat back in his chair, Vark approached him. He pat the shark on the head with a slight smile on his face, the shark adoring the affection given to him. 'Heh...good boy…'
