Seviathan and Helsa had been on the run for several weeks by now. They had packed their bags and continued to be on the move, going as far as their legs could carry them. By now, they had somewhat adjusted to life on the run.

Truthfully, it wasn't that hard.

They had lots of money so Seviathan and Helsa could afford to buy food and keep themselves fed and clothed.

So the twins stayed out on the streets, they knew Hell was a dangerous place so it wasn't like they were going around willy nilly like a bunch of fools.

They knew how rough Hell was and were constantly on guard of their surroundings, being sure to attack anyone who thought of messing with them.

Seviathan and Helsa walked down the streets by themselves down the Envy Sector. It was fairly different from the Pride Ring in terms of living, having a visible ocean and beach.

Due to how long Seviathan and Helsa had been on the run, they had run into a mix of characters on the streets. All of them were sketchy and Seviathan and Helsa desired as little interaction as possible, only tolerating their presence if their presence was beneficial to them and becoming hostile when they tried to pick money off of them.

Their goal was to get as far as possible from their home and never stayed too long in one location out of fear someone might catch them and snitch so they stuck to the more impoverished areas since they were less likely to recognize them.

The twins didn't know where exactly they were going and had no concrete destination in mind. As far as they were concerned, they were just going as far as they could to a place where they didn't have to worry about their past catching up with them.

By now, the Envy Sector's harsh winter storms made traveling the streets dangerous. The ice covered the streets and most demons were seeking shelter given the Extermination was tomorrow. Seviathan and Helsa found every damn motel/inn was fucking crowded and event the damn dumpsters had been taken by homeless demons who used them to hide…

'Damn bastards hogging everything…" Seviathan grumbled, a chill surrounding him."Can't believe everything was already taken.."

"Maybe if someone had just listened to me we wouldn't be out here," Helsa remarked,"But no, apparently you 'don't need' help, am I right, Seviathan? Just had to insist we keep moving because you were being stubborn..."

"Oh be quiet, Helsa. You're not helping…" He growled, shivering from the cold,"How the fuck are you so calm out here? I'm freezing my ass off and you aren't even flinching!"

She chuckled,"What? Can't take the cold Seviathan?"

"It's literally in the negatives dammit! How are you fucking walking around in that tiny ass jacket without freezing?"

"I've trained out in the cold and I've developed a resistance to it since my tutor thought varied environments would help me. Not that it mattered, even at that age the cold never bothered me anyway…"

"Don't you fucking dare start singing that damned song, Helsa.." Seviathan snarled.

"Who do I look like? Charlie? Sorry Sevi, but I don't fucking sing…" Helsa said.

"Good…" He huffed,"It's bad enough I'm freezing out here, I don't need to be stuck listening to your voice singing for hours on end..I swear I'm going to freeze to death if this keeps up…"

"Hey, if the cold doesn't kill you, the Exterminators sure will since we're out in the open and everything is taken at this time of day..." Helsa mentioned,"Hope you're happy getting us killed…"

"Shut up, we won't die…" Seviathan growled.

"Oh yeah? And how are you going to do that? I'd love to see you try and fight off a bunch of Exterminators, unfortunately I'd probably follow after in terms of fate given how close we are to each other…"

The elder twin scoffed, ready to retort when the storm picked up speed, the blizzard becoming fierce it clouded their vision with fog."Oh for fucks sake, first the ice and now we're in the middle of a blizzard? Just our luck…"

The two siblings forced their way through the terrible weather. Seviathan's eyes squinted through the blizzard as he struggled to endure the cold, cursing himself for not bringing a thicker jacket and envious that Helsa had better resistance to the cold than he did...

As they walked, Helsa then said,"Hey...Seviathan, you see that?"

"See what?"

"That bus up ahead. Was that always there before?"

Seviathan scoffed,"Helsa, quit pulling my leg, there hasn't been a sign of motor transportation in miles. The last car we saw was back in the city and we've been walking for over two days."

"I'm serious, Seviathan. Look!" Helsa then pointed ahead through the smoke and fog, Seviathan could vaguely make out a bus in the distance.

"W-What the fuck? Why is there a bus all the way out here? Nobody lives here and the roads are too icy to ride on…"

"Maybe someone left it here…" Helsa suggested.

"Yeah Helsa, someone totally just left a giant fucking bus in the middle of winter, totally.." He replied sarcastically, eyes rolling into his skull.

"I don't believe it either, but I don't see you coming up with better ideas…" She said,"Besides, it's at least a place to stay. It's not much but I'd rather stay in the best place so we can survive Extermination…"

"I don't trust this, Helsa…"

"Do you have any better ideas?"

"..."

"That's what I thought…" She remarked,"Come on, quit being a pussy, Seviathan…"

The elder twin glared at her before approaching the bus, jumping back momentarily when the door opened. He and Helsa flinched in horror when they saw there was no driver, hesitant to step aboard.

"You first…" Helsa said, pushing Seviathan forward against his will.

Seviathan scowled at this, catching himself at the least second. Seviathan reluctantly boarded the bus. An eerie feeling grew on his back as he couldn't see anyone else on the bus, the entire place was empty and there wasn't anyone driving.

Seviathan and Helsa sat beside each other on a chair, the twins staring at each other uncomfortably. Their hearts nearly shot out of their chest when the bus began to start and drove down the road.

"Helsa..how is this damn bus driving without a driver?"

Helsa tensed,"I don't know…Let's not question it…"

"Do you know where this bus is taking us?"

"Do you?"

He shook his head. Seviathan then pulled out his phone and attempted to see their location on Voogle Maps, only for his cold to run solid cold when he saw that his connection was gone,"Helsa..there's no wifi out here…"

"But I was just using my phone outside...That can't be right…" Helsa tried her phone only to scowl,"What the fuck? Why isn't it working?"

"I think this bus has something wrong with it…" He said,"It's not letting us do anything with our phones, meaning no one can contact us nor find us for that matter.."

"What should we do?"

"I suppose the only thing we can do is stay here…" Seviathan admitted,"I hate to say it but this bus is probably the safest place for us. Out there is the cold and the threat of Exterminators once today passes. Though I don't trust where it's taking us but as long as it doesn't take us home, I'll be happy wherever it drops us off."

"If it plans on dropping us off at all…" She remarked, positioning herself rather uncomfortably.

"You think it's gonna let us go?"

"My hopes aren't high," Helsa said,"I don't trust this creepy ass bus and I know damn well we made a mistake. If the Extermination wasn't gonna start there's no way you could've paid me to step on this damn thing ..."

"Hopefully it keeps us out of the Exorcists' sight...though at that point, I'd be more worried where it's gonna take us assuming we don't get shanked by Exterminators…"

"Guess we'll be stuck waiting then, since there's only one way to find out. We have to wait until this bus decides to stop. No thanks to you and your brillant planning.

"Oh be quiet, Helsa. This wasn't my fault…"

"Yes it was."

"I swear to Satan your voice can be so irritating with the amount of complaining you do. Wish I didn't have to hear your voice ever again…"

"Be careful what you wish for, jackass, might not like what happens…" Helsa growled, arms folded over her chest.

The two twins sat in silence, both staring out the windows at the territory from the outside became more and more foreign by the second. The blankets of snow and dark skies did nothing to help the feeling in their stomachs as they were getting further and further from the home they knew…

Husk sighed as he drank the bottle of booze he got a few days ago. Due to his alcohol addiction, he had already ran out of his supply before and this was his last one.

It was something he wanted to do as soon as possible so he could head back home and lock himself inside when Extermination hit.

Husk purchased a cheap ticket on an old fashioned train to save costs since he planned on coming back and waiting out the Extermination like usual.

He doubted it'd have any effect on him, but he just wanted a break from the mundane existence he dared called his afterlife and he may as well take advantage of the few days of free time he had to 'enjoy' himself while he could.

'Gonna have to buy more booze once the Extermination ends…' He thought to himself as he threw the empty bottle out. He wiped his mouth before pulling out his phone to follow the directions. He had chosen the closest train station to him that wouldn't take him too long on foot so he could come right back.

As Husk followed the directions on his phone to the train station, he couldn't help but notice it became less populated the longer he traveled.

"Where is everyone?" He asked, more to himself if anything as he saw nobody walking down the streets. He thought maybe everyone was preparing in advance for the Extermination but he knew there would at least be some demons walking around to enjoy their last day of normalcy before the purge hit.

As far as he was concerned, he was the only person there. Husk walked up to a building that appeared to be for selling children's toys. He peered through the glass windows, raising a large eyebrow when he saw the lights were on yet nobody was inside.

He watched from the window as a toy train soared across the tracks, making noises and even expelling smoke from the train's chimney. It was...so familiar to him for some reason but he couldn't quite remember why.

Oh yeah, now he could recall having a train-set just like it when he was younger.

OK,OK, it wasn't really his train set…

But his friend gave it to him since the only 'toys' Husk was allowed to have were a deck of cards. He kept it in a hidden part in his room until his Dad found it and threw it out because 'it'd distract him from his job' as he would say.

Yeah, he called bullshit on that one. They both knew it was but Husk figured his dad just couldn't stand the fact he was happy and he wasn't so he decided to throw it out to make him focus on the job more and not mess around.

but he was upset when his old man tossed his friend's train out. It actually made him happy when he played with it since it was the one thing in his life that wasn't focused on manning that casino his Dad owned.

That train made him filled with wonder and when it was thrown into the trash he could feel another part of his humanity die with it. The older he got, the more humanity lost until he became this shell, a shadow of his former self…

'Damn that bastard…' He thought to himself as the memory went through, resentment and hatred filling his body the longer he thought about it. He despised that man and the only thing he got from him was despair and misery that plagued him for the rest of his life and even after the grave.

Husk then flinched when he heard the booming sound of a train rushing on the tracks. He could hear the wheels screech and the smell of smoke in the air became evident."The train...guess it's my time to go…"

Husk narrowed his eyes as he saw a fog surround the area. Undeterred by this, he laid himself down to the train station and headed inside, noticing how abandoned the place was.

The station itself was incredibly old and Husk could see that it was in desperate need of an update. Everything was old fashioned and while he knew he should've expected it, he felt unnerved as he walked down, hearing the rooftop creaking from old age.

"Hello?" He called out only to receive no response. The hairs on his neck rose in the silence before he exited the building, seeing there was one lone train waiting on the tracks. It was one of those vintage trains with smoke coming out of the top.

There wasn't anyone else there, not even a person managing the place. He could tell there wasn't anyone driving the train either and it was enough to make him want to run away, especially when the damn door opened in his direction, as if beckoning to come closer.

His instincts kicked in, his brain literally began to screech at him to not go into the train, that it was a trap and in all honesty, it probably was. But Husk couldn't help but he felt curious, wondering where the train would take him.

Despite this voice in his head, Husk wondered where the train would go, figuring that he had nothing left to lose and he already purchased the ticket anyway, might as well board the damn train since it was technically what he paid for...

'Ain't got anything left to lose anyway…' He put his distrust of the situation aside and reluctantly stepped on board the train, sitting in the first cart. It was the cart that his ex preferred being in the front so they could be the ones to see everything first.

The train looked like the ones he had been on when he was alive, the technology for trains wasn't all too advanced so they still had these regal and non-modern designs. Hell and Earth's technology was fairly similar magical bullshit aside.

The train soon made a large sound as it started up again before taking off with Husk in it. Husk peered out the window through the fog, barely able to make out anything. What he could see was that the area he was going in was...a lot less familiar to him.

He wasn't quite sure where the train was taking him but he hoped it wasn't worse than the hellhole that he had been living in for the past…..

'Hope this train won't leave me worse off…' He thought,'Cuz it can't get any worse than this. Maybe where it takes me gives me a break from Alastor for the rest of my afterlife because I don't want him to see me ever again…"

"Niffty, darling, are you certain about this?" Alastor asked as he and Niffty walked down the streets."Do you truly think that going to this little subway station is going to solve anything?"

"I promise, Al! It'll be fine, trust me! This'll take your mind off of Vox and everything that's bothering you! A little train ride won't hurt anyone…"

"I hope so…" Al said lowly, still uncertain about this train ride.

Their way onto the subway was rather eerie and Al could hardly see where he and Niffty were going.

"Hey Al?"

"Yes?"

"Do you notice how...quiet it is?" She asked, noting the lack of population around them.

"Indeed I do…" Al replied,"It's rather quiet today. I wonder where everyone went…"

"Maybe everyone's hiding early from the Extermination!"

"I...I'm not too sure…" Al admitted,"It feels rather odd around here and I don't trust it…"

"I'm sure it's nothing, Al…" She assured, holding his hand gently,"I promise that it's going to be fine…"

He made a face,"I wouldn't be too sure about that dear…"

The smog picked up and Al felt something wasn't right. Niffty didn't seem fazed or at least didn't make much of a comment about the weather. Alastor on the other hand felt an odd presence come over him at this, the change in the weather made his nose twitch.

In all his years, Al never saw fog this thick in his life, let alone in Hell. Even in December, the Pride Sector was always hot, even during December. Rarely was there snow or anything outside of hot weather in the Pride Ring.

'Where is all this smoke coming from?' He thought, squinting his eyes through the smoke. Even with his enhanced senses, Al didn't appreciate being stuck in smoke.

Niffty lead him forward and eventually helped him down a flight of stairs to the subway. There was nobody else there creepily enough and it was utterly silent.

"Niffty...are you sure about this?" He asked,"There is nowhere but us here. This doesn't seem normal…"

Even in the less populated areas, Alastor always saw at least a few dozen people in line for something so to see a subway station that was used to transport countless demons to be empty made him rather uneasy, it felt as if they were being lured into a trap of some kind and they were none the wiser…

Creepiest part was that the subway was just there. Its lights were on but Al could tell that there was nobody inside and he isn't certain if anyone was even driving the damn thing. It didn't help that when they got close, the doors automatically opened and Al could see nobody was inside the cart.

"Ooh look, Al! It's empty! That means we can sit wherever we want! Aren't you excited?"

"Err...no, not really…"

"Ah, don't be scared, Al! Trust me, it's gonna be a short trip! We'll explore a few sights and everything is gonna be fine! We'll be right back home before you know it!"

"I'm not too sure about that, Niffty. Something isn't right about this. I have a bad feeling about this subway…"

"It's nothing, Al. Come on, it'll be over before you know it!" Niffty then pulled Al inside, the Radio Overlord feeling a pit in his stomach when the doors closed behind him abruptly. Al's eyes shifted as he felt the train move, grabbing the nearest pole while Niffty sat down.

Niffty didn't seem all too fazed by the strange occurrences around them, seemingly brushing it off as 'just part of the ride' and being cheery as can be.

"Al, look! It's starting! This is gonna be so exciting when we finally get there!" She said as they were taking off,"It should only take a few minutes given the high speeds we'll be going at!"

Al tried to remain optimistic at this, weakly smiling in response. As the train left the station, they patiently waited to arrive at their station but to their surprise, the ride didn't end. It had been over five minutes and Al began to feel weary,"Niffty...I don't think the subway intends on letting us off…"

"What do you mean? It's just a train, it can't harm us…"

"Something tells me that something supernatural is taking place and I don't like it's intentions…"

"You sure it's not just a mistake. I'm sure we'll be there eventually."

"I'm certain of it, we would've been there by now…" Al said before trying to listen to music to calm himself. Something however became very wrong as his staff's reception was being blocked and he was unable to use it."What? What's going on?"

"Something wrong,Al?"

"My staff isn't working…"

"Oh...I'm sorry…Maybe I can try listening to music on my phone for you. I'm certain there's stuff on V-Tooth that has your taste in music..." Niffty then pulled out her phone only to frown,"Aw man, my phone has no reception too…"

"I told you something was wrong with this subway, Niffty. I don't know where this train is taking us but I have the feeling we're not going to be back home by the time Extermination hits…"

"What do we do?"

"I'm not certain, something isn't letting me use my powers. The only thing we can hope for is that this subway comes to a stop and ceases motion because I'm not sure how else we'll get out of a moving vehicle at this rate…"

"Al...I'm scared…"

"Don't worry, I'm a bit weary too...let's just hope for the best because that's the only thing we can really do at this point…" Al replied, uncertain when exactly they were going to leave."We may as well get comfortable because I believe we're going to be here for quite a while…"
