Chapter 07: Ultimate Smash (Edited)
"You wanted to talk?" Danny asked as he looked at the screen of glowing green energy.
He had been getting ready to go to school when he had saw the letter on his desk with Clockwork's symbol. In the letter were instructions to send a duplicate to school and meet him in his lair. He had nothing better to do at the moment. He also liked to think the letter meant Clockwork was improving his communication skills.
"Yes, there is something I wanted to speak with you about." Clockwork said in his child form as he turned to face him.
"What sort of danger am I facing now?" Danny asked.
"You will be facing danger later tonight, but I contacted you for another reason." Clockwork said waving his hand.
The screen changed from its swirling green and showed Rogue, Mary-Jane, and one other girl that he did not know.
"What is going to happen to them?" Danny asked as he stared at the images and prepared himself for whatever he might see.
It might be anything. From rampaging ghost to evil scientists. Hopefully it was a vampire. He has been wanting to stake one ever since he had seen trailers for the twilight movie. It seemed that this evil was something that also traveled between universes.
"You are going to start a relationship with the three of them." Clockwork said causing his eyes to widen.
"I do not think that is how relationships work." Danny said.
"You will need the three of them if you want this world to survive." Clockwork said.
"What do you mean?" Danny asked.
"I mean that if you do not have the three of them with you then you are going to fail, and the world is doomed." Clockwork said and waved his hand in his adult form.
The screen removed the images of the girls and instead showed the world in ruins and monsters prowling through the streets. Bodies were being carried away to only Clockwork knows where.
"Who is behind this?" Danny asked because Clockwork had to know.
If he just gave him a name, he would go and deal with him early on.
"You do not need to know who it is yet. Just know that I am preparing you to fight it." Clockwork said.
"This fight which requires me to seduce three girl two of which are my friends and one more I do not know?" Danny asked.
"Yes, you must. The three of them each have a role to play in what is to come." Clockwork said.
"You already know what I am going to say so to save me the time of coming up with arguments can you tell me how this conversation is going to end?" Danny asked.
He was mostly arguing because he had no idea how he was even to begin with this task. His relationship with Rogue had barely even started and now he would have to start a relationship with two other people. One of which he had no idea how to find.
"You will see that this is for the best. You will understand that because of your actions these girls would have better lives than the ones they had before you showed up in this universe." Clockwork said shifting to his old man form.
"You would not be hiding anything else from me?" Danny asked.
"I will continue to help you along the way, but you have to understand that while this path may be annoying it has the least number of casualties." Clockwork said causing him to just start floating in the air while he took this information in.
"So, what should I do right now? I doubt that going to school is my next move?" Danny asked but noticed that Clockwork had not answered his question.
"No, it is not. You are to go back to the Xavier mansion and start working on your task." Clockwork said.
"Alright but what about the other girl that I do not know?" Danny asked.
"That girl is Kitty Pryde she is going to be Rogue new roommate." Clockwork said.
Hearing that caused him to look up and wonder how interconnected everything in his life was if things were playing out like this.
"When is she going to arrive at the school?" Danny asked.
"She is going to arrive in four days." Clockwork said shocking him as Clockwork was no longer in front of him but instead behind him.
The moment he turned around Clockwork tapped him on the head, and he could feel this sort of energy pass through him.
"What did you just do?" Danny asked rubbing his forehead.
It had seemed like he was making so much progress with the letter. One step forward and entire mountain-sized step backwards with this ghost.
"I gave you some knowledge that will help you. Not only about how to deal with this mission but also the information that you have been searching for in regard to your powers." Clockwork said. "As the situations arise you will know exactly how to respond whether that be on the in the field of battle or love."
"Is there anything else I need to worry about while I am hanging out with Rogue?" Danny asked.
"Yes, later tonight the Ultimates are going to fight their first monster together." Clockwork said. "Betty Ross and Bruce Banner are going to get into an argument and The Hulk will be unleashed on the city."
"I am assuming that this needs to happen too I suppose?" Danny asked.
"Yes, and it will be happening at around 8:00 tonight so be ready." Clockwork said turning back to his child form.
At least he was being warned when it was going to happen.

"What are you doing here?" Rogue asked as he turned visible in his human form outside of her window.
It was her first time seeing it as they had only met in his ghost form before now. He had called her that he was coming after he left the ghost zone. A duplicate was already going to school, and he was not going to be busy until tonight. That left him with lots of hours to goof off.
"I decided that hanging out with you would be more important than sitting in class pretending to pay attention." Danny said with a smile as he walked through the wall and into her room.
Telepathy did not work on him so neither Charles Xavier nor Jean Grey would be able to tell that he was here.
Not unless they read Rogue's mind.
"Really?" Rogue asked brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"Listening to you is tons of time easier than listening to my teachers." Danny said as he and Rogue walked and sat on her bed.
"Is there something bothering you?" Rogue asked.
"You know that I work with S.H.I.E.L.D. and that Fury is building this super team, right?" Danny asked.
"I have seen it on the news. You guys are called the Ultimates." Rogue said.
"Well, I am the youngest on the team and they find it awkward to talk with me. It is kind of lonely." Danny said lying to her and on the bed in a sigh.
He did not mean anything that he was saying but he needed to project vulnerability if he wanted Rogue to come closer to him.
"I know what it is like to be alone." Rogue said. 'It was even more true since Cain had left the institute. Not even two days into their stay. He had asked me to come along with him and find their own way as they had before Weapon X had captured them. He had not been happy when I turned down his offer.'
"I have been on my own since I was born. The only reason my father had me was to further his own dreams and ambitions." Danny said putting some truths into his own lie.
The only reason that he had been created was because Vlad wanted a half-ghost son and the original kept saying no.
"You do not have to be alone." Rogue said as she pulled him in to a kiss.
He could feel her arms shaking even though this was not the first time she had kissed him.
"I know. That is why I came to spend some time with you." Danny said as he rolled on top of her and looked at Rogue's face.
"What is it?" Rogue asked as she looked away.
"I just wondered how far you wanted to go. I have been unable to think of anything but you the last few days. I am just worried that I am pushing you past what you are comfortable with." Danny said but Rogue just turned to look at him.
"You think too much." Rogue said and that was all he needed to kiss her back. She had been dying to touch him more since their last date. Every time they touched it was like her skin was set on fire. She hated being separated from him as he was the only one that could touch her. Her dreams did not help as each night she went to sleep she dreamt of wild nights between them without stop. She felt like she was becoming addicted to him. Just sitting next to him was increasing her desire to touch him.

As he moved them so that he was sitting on the bed and Rogue was sitting reverse on his lap he felt her start to move her bare under his shirt and to his stomach feeling his developing abs. (Fighting crime helped build a lot of muscle) If she was fine with going that far then who was he to argue. He phased her bra out from her shirt and laid it on the bed. As his hand returned to solidity he moved under her shirt and grasped her right boob in his hand while he held on to her hip with his left hand to keep her in place.
"This feels so good." Rogue said as she broke the kiss and moved her head back a few inches.
"Really?" Danny asked with a grin on his face.
"For so long I have wanted to be able to touch another person. I am so glad it is you." Rouge said.
"I am glad that it is me too." Danny said as he phased out of his shirt and started lifting Rogue's too. She helps take it off but rushed back to kiss him as soon as it was sent flying off of her and to the floor. He would have liked to get a look a Rogue's boobs, but she was not going to let his lips leave hers so easily again except for air.
"A bit harder." Rogue said as he squeezed her chest and so he used a bit more of his strength and watched as Rogue threw her head back in pleasure.
"You must have really liked that. Any louder and people in the mansion would probably start to hear us." Danny said and watched as Rogue seemed to get even more excited by the idea that others knew what they were up to. She would have fallen to the floor if his grip had not been as tight on her as it was.
"That was wonderful." Rogue said in a helpless pile on her bed.
Danny was starting to think this assignment from Clockwork would not be so bad.
"You want to continue?" Danny asked.
"Yes." Rogue said as she pushed herself to face him.
"If you like having people hear you imagine what it will be like when your roommate gets here. We can turn invisible and have fun right in front of her face without her having the faintest idea." Danny said as he started pulling her to the window of her room that looked out into the courtyard and started kissing down her neck while moving his hands down to her ass.
That had been unexpected. It had just felt like those were the words he should say. He assumed that it was part of Clockwork's information download.
Those words caused her to push back on him not to throw him off but to grind even harder as they made contact. No one saw what was happening in Rogue's room, but she made no effort to move away from the window. It seemed like Rogue liked the idea of someone watching them.
He glanced at the other bed in the room before turning back to her. It would make his task easier.
"I am so glad that I met you, Rogue." Danny said as he pulled himself back and looked at her ass from behind.
It was plump and tight from all of her training. He wanted to spank it just to see if it would jiggle.
"I feel the exact same way." Rouge said as she turned around and jumped on to him.
Danny laid Rogue down on the bed.
"I wonder what you would like more having our first time at my place in a more romantic time? or right here where everyone could hear?" Danny asked.
"You are going to be the reason I die at 16 of unresolved sexual tension." Rogue said but pushed him away choosing an option.
"At least I am not making you wait until my 16th birthday." Danny said.

"So, what happened?" Peter asked as he took a seat the table across from him while he watched this new show on his Stark-pad.
This was independent study and if he had to deal with this in place of the original than he would find whatever joy that he could.
"What happened with what?" Danny asked.
"The guy that we fought at the warehouse that could shoot electricity. Electro?" Peter asked.
"Right now, he is being placed under S.H.I.E.L.D. custody. He has benefited from genetic modification and that is illegal. He is being placed in a special prison for such people." Danny said as he pulled his earplugs out of his ears.
That was the only bit of good news from the criminals that they had captured. The rest were staying silent on the whole Wilson Fisk/Kingpin business.
"You do not think that such a place is scary? We could end up in one of those prisons?" Peter asked.
"As far as anyone need be concerned, I am a ghost and that will always be my defense." Danny said.
The prison is called the CUBE and it was located in the Nevada desert miles and miles away from people in the event that some super criminal managed to bust out. It was not a question of if it was a question of when.
It would happen given that this universe ran on comic book logic.
"I still do not believe that report you gave to Harriet Chin. Why would you even do that?" Peter asked.
"It prevents people freaking out and calling me a menace." Danny said giving Peter a look.
The Daily Bugle was tearing him apart in the newspapers. They seemed to make a profit out of dragging his name through the mud. J. Jonah Jameson seemed to really have something out for him.
"It should not be about what people call us. It should be about what we do." Peter said. 'I wonder what type of upbringing Danny had if he found concept such as that difficult to understand.'
Classic superhero line. It was that kind of thinking that caused them so much stress. If that was the way Peter wanted to do it, then more power to him but both he and the original had more pressing matter to deal with.
"We just see this whole superhero thing differently." Danny said.
Mary-Jane and Gwen came rushing up to them with smiles on their faces.
"What is up?" Danny asked.
"I got six tickets to the new Ember concert this weekend and wanted to see if you guys wanted to come with?" Mary-Jane asked.
"I think that I have heard of her." Peter said, "She is this new rising star."
"You have to listen to her music it is so amazing." Mary-Jane said.
"Sure, I can go." Danny said.
He wondered how far Clockwork had planned things in advance for the original.
"If you guys are going then why not?" Gwen said.
"Alright so we will see you guys later." Mary-Jane said as she and Gwen left to do something else.
"Yes." Peter yelled once the girls were gone in excitement.
"I did not think that you were a huge fan of Ember?" Danny asked in confusion.
"That is not why I am excited. This is basically a double date." Peter said.
"You with Gwen which means I have to keep Mary-Jane's attention the entire night?" Danny asked while trying to seem calm about the situation.
"Please. You know how hard it is to juggle both your regular life with your secret life. I have to make excuses about where I am going, and it makes me seem like a major flake." Peter said as he brought his hands together as if he was praying.
There was a sad look on his face as he asked which just brought up memories of the original with his struggles and disappointments.
"Sure, thing man." Danny said. "So, who else do you think she is going to ask to come with. You, me, Gwen, and M.J. are four people which leaves two extra tickets. So who do you think it would be?"
"Harry and Liz probably." Peter said.
"Those two are a thing?" Danny asked.
"No but he has had a crush on her since we were in the sixth grade." Peter said.
"Alright so talk to him and make sure that it is set up correctly and the four of us can make sure that this date you want with Gwen goes great." Danny said.

"I cannot believe that you like the books." Danny said as he looked at the Twilight books on her shelf.
There were books he had expected of a goth but there were also romance books that he would have thought she would have hated. Either because of what they were or because she could not touch other people.
"They are not that bad." Rogue said as she laid on her bed looking at him.
After their make out session and Rogue getting dressed again, they had just relaxed in her room watching funny videos on her laptop until they got bored of it. Now they were just talking about what they wanted to do in their lives. Rogue wanted to travel the world. The only time she got to travel was on mission for Weapon X, so she wanted to see the world when she was not in a rush or on a mission. She wanted to see Rome, England, Paris all the fabulous places she had seen in books and magazines.
"If you are a teenage girl. I doubt real vampires sparkle in the sun like diamonds." Danny said with a smile holding the book in the air and out of her reach.
He glanced at his phone and saw that he had three hours before he had to go and deal with some monster that would be rampaging through the city.
"I know that. I just like the story for the romance." Rogue said.
That just made it even worse.
"How can you like this story?" Danny asked.
"I like the idea of a powerful love that defies all logic and manages to survive no matter the hardship." Rogue said. "Not to mention the idea of this pale lonely girl in a relationship with a supernatural creature. I wonder how I could possibly relate to that?"
"I can't make fun of that." Danny said with a sigh as he placed the book back on the shelf.
"Is there anything else you want to do?" Rogue asked.
"I wish I could but right now I have to head back home. There is something I have to deal with." Danny said.
"So, you are going now?" Rogue asked.
"Yeah, I have to shower and get some things together." Danny said as he blew her a kiss before he walked through her wall and took off into the sky.
He could see the afternoon sun starting to set and the clouds were getting darker, so he sped up to get home.

One long shower later and he was ready just sitting on his couch watching television and counting the seconds as they passed.
"Phantom come in." He heard Janet say on his communication device.
Fury ordered them to make sure that whenever they were they had their communications devices. That way at the first sign of trouble they could be reached and instructed where to go.
"Wasp what is going on?" Danny pretended to ask as he started standing up.
He had been waiting for the call about the Hulk's rampage.
"The Hulk is rampaging through Manhattan, and everyone is gathering to deal with the situation." Janet said.
Banner truly picked a horrible location to have his freak out.
"I am on my way to the Triskellion." Danny said as he turned into his ghost form and flew out of his house.

"This is going be troublesome as all hell. You ready for this kid?" Hawkeye asked when he arrived suited up with a quiver full of arrows.
"How bad do you think this is going to be?" Danny asked.
"If the Hulk was rampaging, then it was threat level two where multiple cities might be in danger." Hawkeye answered.
"It is what I get paid for." Danny said as they entered the Triskellion and looked for the others.
While he was traveling through the base, he looked at the screen ahead of him with images of the Hulk's rampage.
"Does anyone know what set the guy off?" Hank Pym asked as he entered the room alongside his wife from a hallway.
"We can figure that out later. Our first priority has to be stopping him and helping the people he has put at risk." Captain America said as he entered the room.
"Do you have a plan?" Danny asked cautiously.
The last fight this man had been in was decades ago and it had sent him to be frozen in ice.
"The plan is for us to hit him until he goes down." Captain America said.
"You must have been watching a lot of action movies since you got out of the ice." Iron Man said. "How about we come up with an actual plan?"
"Everything is a joke you, isn't it?" Steve asked looking at them in annoyance.
"Not all of the time." Iron Man said. "Maybe half?"
"Come on guys we have bigger concerns at the moment." Janet Van Dyne said.
"She is right. Now let us talk about how we are going to complete operation Snickers." Danny said.
"Operation Snickers?" Hank Pym asked.
"Yeah because Dr. Banner is not himself when he is angry." Danny said as his duplicates gave him a better view of the event.
He could hear the screams of people as they ran in fear. Smoke was rising from the city, and he could see a car sent flying off into the ocean. Going by the buildings and shops with broken glass and cars thrown through them there were probably a lot of people that needed saving. He could not wait for the others to arrive in a chopper. The communication devices would keep them in contact, and he was already suited up and ready to go. He would just have to go and see if his preparations were enough.
If they were not, then he would be having words with Clockwork.
He turned intangible and floated through the Triskellion.
"Phantom where are you going?" Fury asked him.
"I am going to go and save people. Manhattan is full of people who were at the wrong place at the wrong time. We can talk about the plan as I save civilians." Danny said as he landed in the city and saw the trail of destruction that showed the direction to go.
"We were in the middle of coming up with a plan." Fury said.
He could imagine the glare the old man is sending him through his voice.
"Talk about. I just plan on gaining his attention." Danny said.
"Hulk eat Freddie Prinz Jr!" The Hulk roared gaining his attention as he stomped through the street.
"We will send agents to help you." Fury said.
"Alright." Danny said as he hit the Hulk with an ecto-blast. "I know he does not make a perfect Fred Jones but eating a man for being bad in movies is an overreaction."
It did not push him far, but it gave time for the cops in the flipped over cop car to get out.
"Hulk smash annoying pest." Hulk said as he tried to bring his hand down on top of him as if he was a stake in the ground and his hands were hammers.
"I will have you know that I am considered a giant annoyance." Danny said as he phased through the Hulk's giant fists and punched the Hulk in the face that sent him flying upwards into a sign that electrocuted him.
The Hulk fell to the ground, but he was not dumb enough to think that it would stop him. The rest of the Ultimates had yet to arrive, and Clockwork said it would take all of them to deal with him.
His gauntlet had been packed with high quality containment foam. It was mostly for ghost to prevent them from escaping but it was also strong enough to prevent an elephant from taking a single step.
"Puny child thinks he can take down the Hulk." The Hulk roared at him.
"The Hulk can think what he wants but what I have seen is you got nothing." Danny said with a smile as he blasted the Hulk again.
"How is it going?" Iron Man asked.
"I have got his attention." Danny said. "How is it going coming up with a plan?"
"We have parts of a plan, but it is better than nothing." Iron Man said.
"That is good news. I am holding the Hulk down but what have you guys got?" Danny asked.
"Hawkeye is equipped with arrows tipped with adamantium. Wasp and you can blast him and gain his attention while Iron-man and I attack him. If it will not put him down, it will at least hurt him." Captain America said.
"That is great and all but how about we move him out of the city and make sure the least amount of people get hurt." Danny said.
Too many people had already been hurt in the Hulk's anger at some actor. He did not need more people getting caught in such a crossfire.
"How could we do that? Hurting him is at least possible but how would we move the Hulk when he does not want us too?" The Wasp asked.
"Remember how I said I could overshadow people?" Danny asked the lot of them as he saw the Hulk start ripping the foam off of himself.
That was not a good thing. He would get out eventually.
"Do you think you could retain control of the Hulk for a prolonged time?" Captain America asked.
"I can hold him sure, but I am not sure for how long. Too much emotion can push me out and he is dealing with a lot of rage. Even more since he met me." Danny said with another ecto-blast to the forehead which only made him angrier.
What was worse it that it looked as if he the madder he got the stronger he got as well.
"Hulk will enjoy eating you!" Hulk roared.
The half-eaten bodies lying in the street were proof that it was no simple threat.
"This whole speaking in the third person bit shows that you need some therapy." Danny said but had to jump back as the Hulk ripped through all of the bindings.
"Just great." Danny said before jumping through the air and floating out of the Hulk's reach.
"Hulk smash." Hulk said clapping his hands and sending out a shockwave that smashed a lot of glass and sent him flying backwards.
"Phantom, are you alright?" Captain America asked.
"I am as well as can be." Danny said as he gestured at the Hulk.
He had been working on his Telekinesis since he received the information from Clockwork he wanted to see if it could hold down the Hulk instead of needing him to overshadow him.
"No one can hold down the Hulk!" Hulk roared as it started struggling and moving forward.
"We'll let us see about that." Giant-Man said.
He looked up to see him jump from the jet and grow in the air.
He brought his giant foot down onto the Hulk as he landed. The stomp caused a minor earthquake but with everything already broken or on fire it did not matter much.
"Hawkeye bring out your arrows." Captain America said as he let go of the rope that brought him to the ground, pulled out his shield, and posed like an action movie star.
"Hank." The Wasp called out as the Hulk tossed Giant-man off of him and onto his back.
No one called her for breaking out the rule on names as she saw her husband get tossed like an unwanted coat.
"Focus wasp. Phantom try and keep him under control." Captain America said as he launched the shield at the Hulk as he tried to take a bite out of Hank's leg.
He watched Captain America move behind as Iron Man blasted the Hulk with an energy blast from his suit.
"Hawkeye try and weaken him so that Phantom can possess him." Captain America said slamming hit foot into the Hulk's knee.
"Here you go kid." Hawkeye said as he launched his arrows that stabbed into the Hulk's shoulder.
"I hear you." Danny said as he turned intangible and flew into the Hulk.
"Hulk cannot be stopped! Hulk is strongest there is!" The Hulk roared in pain and anger.
However, by then it was a battle on the inside for Danny as he stopped him from moving.
"I have him. Let's go." Danny said with an annoyed groan as he took off into the air and started flying to an area clear of people that could be hurt when the Hulk pushed him out.
