Chapter 15: Secret Disk (Edited)
"Hello Danny." Mrs. Parker said as she opened the door.
"How are you doing Mrs. Parker? I have come to see Peter." Danny said with a smile.
"He's in the basement probably working on some secret project." Mrs. Parker said.
"I will go and look for him." Danny said as he walked into the house and turned so that he could enter the basement.
He would have done this sooner but the past few days he has been talking to reporters about saving the city from the meteoroids. He had recently heard that they were planning on making cards about him and the other Ultimates.
"What do you want?" Peter asked as he turned away from the television and the couch.
Looking at the television it seems that he was watching an episode of Star Trek.
"I heard about your argument with Mary Jane. I came over here to figure out what caused it since it seemed like you were upset about something." Danny said.
"You have no idea what I am going through." Peter said.
"Don't try that with me. I have read enough comics to know how heroes push people away when facing trouble. I was wonder what the cause was but then I saw this." Danny said holding up an article from The Bugle on his phone.
It seems that he needed to pay closer attention to his web-slinging friend.
"What about it?" Peter asked.
"How about how the article was about how Spider-man had decided to work for Norman Ozborn." Danny said.
He had warned him about the man before he had gone on vacation.
"I told you before that there is nothing wrong with Norman Ozborn." Peter said.
"Obviously something is if you are acting like this. Constant anger and lashing out at friends are a common reaction to being forced to worked for a possible supervillain." Danny asked as he looked at his friend.
"I have only known you for a few months. Just because we teamed up once does not mean I have to tell you everything that goes on in my life." Peter said.
"True but because I know how the life goes sudden and drastic changes in behavior should be checked out as soon as they are noticed. I want to make sure that you have not been possessed, or replaced by aliens, or isekai'd." Danny said.
It was not such a strange thing to consider when he had been brought to this world by bored aliens that wanted something new to amuse themselves.
"The first two things are not real. I don't even know what the third is." Peter said as he turned back to watch the television.
"Normally I would tell you that you should have a more open mind but right now something has changed about you, and I want to know what." Danny said.
Then before anything else could be said his Ultimate's card activated again.
"Seems like you are going to be rather busy." Peter said.
"Don't think this has changed anything we are still going to talk about this." Danny said as he went upstairs to tell Mrs. parker that he was leaving.
It would be best not to have her wonder how he left. Looks like he was going to have to keep a closer eye on Peter.

"What's going on?" Danny asked as he walked in to Nick Fury's office.
He was sitting in front of Hawkeye and a beautiful woman with red hair and a black bodysuit.
"Phantom you have already met Hawkeye. This is Natash Romanov codename Black Widow. There is a mission I want the three of you on." Nick Fury said.
"What kind of mission?" Danny asked.
"Take a seat and I will begin." Nick Fury said as he tapped his desk and the board behind him activated. "We have received word that the KGB are making a deal with Wilhelm Schmeck. He had been a scientist involved with Weapon X. He has recorded and compiled the information about the mutants that had been taken by Weapon X and were still being scouted out before they were taken down. Your mission was to go and intercept the deal and destroy the disk."
'The KGB is still around.' Danny thought surprised given how by this time the KGB was long gone in his original world.
"Are you sure that that is a wise move." Black Widow asked.
"It is too dangerous to be left intact. If the wrong people buy that information, it could start a mass kidnapping. Innocent mutants kidnapped and abused by people with dangerous beliefs to hurt more innocent people." Danny said.
"That could be the least of our problems." Nick Fury said.
"What do you mean?" Danny asked.
"If the wrong people get their hands on the information, they could try to clone the individual or mass produce their powers and build an army of super-powered individuals." Nick Fury said. "With the right power they could have individuals sneak into the city and use them to cause untold damage and chaos."
"We will make sure that the disc is destroyed." Hawkeye promised.
"Phantom be subtle. I do not need the world knowing I am using one of my Ultimates as a spy. Be careful with the use of your powers." Fury said. "Use them as subtley as possible."
"I understand. Where is the deal taking place?" Danny asked.
"You will be going to Miami." Nick Fury answered.
"Great." Hawkeye said with a smile.
"Do you not like snow?" Black Widow asked.
"You may come from a land full of the stuff, but I hate it and want to be as far away as possible." Hawkeye said.
"I thought you could shoot an arrow ion any weather?" Danny asked.
"I can. that still does not mean I enjoy the weather messing with my shots." Hawkeye said.
"The deal is going down in the Emerald Shell Hotel." Nick Fury said.
"Do you know who is going to be handing over the money?" Black Widow asked.
"No. That is a mystery and is why I want the Phantom going with you. He could stay by Schmeck side and not be noticed. When he sees the deal going down, he can signal you or take the disc himself if you are out of reach." Nick Fury said.
"Why can't I just overshadow Schmeck and find out where it is when we arrive?" Danny asked.
"Because I want to know who is working for the Russians and if they have other associates in the country." Nick Fury said. "The Cold War may be over but that did not mean Russia was not looking for ways to challenge America and the formation of the Ultimates had only increased that desire. There are rumors that they are doing experiments involving cybernetics. It is their way of getting around the international ban of genetics."
"Do we have to take a regular plane, or can we take the Quinjet?" Danny asked.
It was faster and would give them more time to prepare once they landed.
"You can take the Quinjet." Nick Fury said.

(Emerald Shell Hotel)
"So how do you want to do this?" Danny asked as he sat on the bed.
They were currently in Hawkeye's room. Both Hawkeye and Black Widow had refused to share with him and wanted their own. Good for them that Fury had given them plenty of money for their mission in their operations account. Their current alias was of a family enjoying a vacation together. Black Widow was supposed to be his mom and Hawkeye his uncle. He was currently wearing a wig so that his black hair was now blond to match Hawkeye.
"First we are going to find which room that Schmeck is staying in." Hawkeye said.
"Then we are going to have to find a place to put this tracker." Black Widow said holding up the device.
"I can put it in his shoes." Danny said.
"We don't want him to step on it and break it." Black Widow said.
"I did not mean inside the shoe. I meant in the layer between the fabric. I can turn it intangible and place it in a place he would never see." Danny said.
"Good thinking kid." Hawkeye said.
"Alright I will distract the manager at the front desk while the kid gets the information." Black Widow said.
"I will get everything set up here." Hawkeye said.
"So how do you like Miami so far?" Danny asked.
"I have been here before for work." Black Widow said.
"Really what for?" Danny asked.
"If I told you then I would have to kill you." Black widow said as they entered the elevator.
"I am already dead." Danny said with a smile as the doors closed and the elevator went down to the lobby.
"Speaking of that how was it?" Black Widow asked.
"How is what?" Danny asked.
"Death? Dying?" Black Widow asked.
"The process of how it happened did hurt but whether there is something beyond is still a mystery to me." Danny answered as the elevator opened.
"On my signal download the information on the manager's laptop." Black Widow said as they approached the table.
The manager of the hotel was a short dark-skinned man wearing a tan suit and a salmon-colored tie.
"Can I help you?" Mr. Mosby asked as they approached.
Danny noticed that the man could not move his eyes off of Black Widow.
"Yes. My son has allergies and I want to make sure that the food is not being prepared with something that could send him to the hospital." Black Widow said in an American accent.
"I can promise you that the food is prepared with the best precautions to prevent allergic reactions." Mr. Mosby said.
"I take my son's safety very important. I want to see the area where the cooks are preparing the food." Black Widow said.
"Very well." Mr. Mosby said as he left his desk and came to stand next to her.
"I will wait here." Danny said as he went to go and sit in a couch facing the hotel's entrance.
'You know what to do.' Danny thought as he created an invisible duplicate and opened his bag.
Inside was the thumb drive that they were going to use. The moment the duplicate touched the thumb drive it turned invisible as well.
'I am on it.' The duplicate responded as it walked to the manager's desk.
'When you are done with that task you are to take pictures of the people walking into and around the hotel lobby' Danny thought to the duplicate.
The chance could be small but one of them could be the Russian that Schmeck was waiting her to meet. Hawkeye and Black Widow were trained spies so there was a chance that they would know who it was that Schmeck was going to meet.
It took about fifteen minutes for Black Widow and the manager to come back.
"Are you done?" Black Widow asked from behind him.
"Yup." Danny answered as he threw a piece of candy in the air and caught it as it came down.
He had grabbed a handful when the manager was checking out Black Widow.
"Where is it?" Black Widow asked feeling irritated at the lack of concern on the Phantom's face. 'He may be a ghost, but I am still alive, and this mission was very important.'
"In my bag along with something else I think that you will want to see." Danny answered.

"Did you get it?" Hawkeye asked as they entered the room.
"Yup." Danny said handing the man the thumb drive.
"Good work." Hawkeye said as he connected the thumb drive.
"I try. So, which room is Schmeck in?" Danny asked floating in the air.
"According to this he is in room 517." Hawkeye answered.
"Alright so now that we know where he is I can go and plant the tracker." Danny said as he glanced at Black Widow that was connecting the camera to her laptop.
"I hate to rain on the parade, but it seems we are not the only agents aware of the deal between Schmeck and the KGB." Black Widow said.
"What do you mean?" Danny asked.
"Come and take a look at the pictures your duplicate managed to take." Black Widow said as she walked from the desk with printed pictures in her hand and put them on the bed.
"Who are they?" Danny asked as he pointed at the first pair of pictures.
"The old man and the young girl are Manfred and Uta. They are German spies." Hawkeye answered.
"These two Charles and Rudy and they work for Castro." Black Widow said pointing to the second pair.
"Who is the guy on his own?" Danny asked as he picked up the only picture that did not have a partner.
Whether that was because he was alone or because the duplicate did not take their picture he did not know.
"This guy is Fabian Kingsworth and he works for Odin." Black Widow said.
"I know the first two are bad, but I do not know anything about Odin." Danny said.
"It's a spy agency based in Paris." Black Widow said.
"All you need to know is that he is an asshole." Hawkeye said.
"And the last two?" Danny asked looking at the picture of the blonde man in the white suit and the black woman in the pink coat.
"That is November 11th and April 6th. They work for MI6. They are both mutants. He has the power to freeze any liquid and she has the power to manipulate the atmosphere." Black Widow said.
"A deadly combination." Danny said.
"That's right. She crates rain to pour down an area and he freezes it. It is also a bad idea to come into direct contact with him as he can freeze the blood in your body with a touch." Hawkeye said.
""Not a pleasant way to die." Danny said as he landed on the ground. "Alright so we need to avoid all of them and make sure that we are the ones that end up with the disc."
"Yes." Black Widow said handing him the tracking device.
"My duplicate can handle that." Danny said as he opened another piece of candy.
"Did you get one for me?" Hawkeye asked.
"Nope." Danny answered. "So, what are we going to do once the tracker is placed on Schmeck?"
He was new to the whole spy business and none of Vlad's memories had anything related to it.
"We are going to track where Schmeck is moving and listen to everything he says." Black Widow said.

(Danny and Rogue's dream)
"Her hair was the first thing that he noticed. The two colors in such contrast. A rich brown and in the front a white similar to his own. She could say a word and it would cause you to think of summer days. She was a mystery that he could spend days trying to solve and he was sure that even if he never could that she was worth the challenge." The Narrator said. "Their romance began with mystery and adventure, and it was nowhere near done."
"You really think that about me?" Rogue asked after hearing the narrator's description of her.
"You heard the narrator. I love hearing the way that you talk." Danny said as he moved from his desk and toward his girlfriend.
"Why are we dressed like this?" Rogue asked as she gestured to her dark coat and the world outside that was in black and white.
"I have been watching a lot of noir movies and this is as close as I can tell you about what I am doing at the moment." Danny said.
It was what he had been watching at the hotel while he was not listening to Schmeck's adventures. It turns out that he really liked the genre. It was another thing he discovered that had nothing to do with the original or Vlad's tastes. It was all his own.
"I like the colors." Rogue said as she placed her hat down and walked to the window.
"How do you enjoy the view?" Danny asked.
Just because this office looked like it belonged to a noir detective did not mean the view outside was bleak and drab. The office had the same view as the Stark building. He should know he spent a lot of time flying over it.
"It's wonderful." Rogue answered.
"Do you want to explore the city? I made it a mix of New York and the parts of Miami I have explored." Danny asked.
"Not yet I have something to tell you." Rogue said.
"Okay." Danny said.
"You know Kitty and Ah have been talking." Rogue said.
"Really? About what?" Danny asked.
"She confessed to me about the dreams she has been having about you. It was hard to listen and not break into a smile." Rogue said.
"How did you react?" Danny asked.
"Ah asked her what she wanted." Rogue said as she felt him wrap his arms around her.
"Her response?" Danny asked.
"She wondered if Ah would be willing to share." Rogue said as she moved her arms to hold his.
"I take it you said yes." Danny said as he saw her reflection in the mirror.
"Of course. It is what we have been working towards." Rogue said.

(Four Days Later)
"What is he doing now?" Hawkeye asked him as he stopped the duplicate from moving.
"He is going into a strip club." Danny answered feeling a smile growing on his face.
"Focus." Black Widow said as she clapped her hands together. 'It seems whether alive or dead teenagers were the same.'
"I plan on it." Danny said.
He needed new locations for his dreams, and this was certainly new.
"Wait kid." Hawkeye said.
"What?" Danny asked annoyed.
"I think that you should pull back. You are too young to go in there." Hawkeye said.
"Widow or I could go inside. No one would pay attention to another guy in a strip club or Black Widow could pretend to be a stripper and steal the information on where the disk was from him there. He would either be too drunk or too focused on other things to be paying much attention anyway."
"Seriously? I am already there." Danny said. H
e had gotten tired of listening to the recording and watching the tracker. So, he suggested to have a duplicate follow Schmeck while invisible. To reduce the risk of them losing him because he bought new shoes. It allowed them to share the same sights and get freedom from the room he had been trapped in.
"He is right kid." Black Widow said.
"Whatever." Danny said as he fell back on his bed in annoyance.
"You can go and listen to the listening devices that you have placed in the other rooms." Black Widow said as she stood up and left his room.
"I will go as backup." Hawkeye said as he went to leave as well.
"Fine." Danny said acting as if he agreed.
He would leave the duplicate around just in case that it turns out that they need backup.
"What to do?" Danny asked.
Hawkeye and Black Widow had already discovered which rooms the other spies/mercenaries were staying in and so they had him place listening devices in their walls. Hawkeye and Black Widow had stated that Fury would want to know what they were up to. He had asked if the others should have duplicates watching them too, but he was told that the listening devices were enough. That they had to focus on the mission.
Danny placed earphones while taking his phone out of his pocket to play games while he listened to the recordings. His duplicate had his communicator in his ear so he could be signaled if he was needed.

'Seems that you are needed.' The duplicate thought to him.
'What's going on?' Danny wondered as he turned from the recording and the game that he was playing on his phone.
The last bit he heard was about an argument between the German mercenaries Uta and Manfred about her wanting a child.
'Seems that Charles and Rudy are shooting at Hawkeye and Widow.' The duplicate replied to him.
'Have they found out where the disk is?' Danny asked.
'Nope. It seems as if Black Widow has paralyzed Schmeck so that he is easier to carry to the car.' The duplicate thought to him.
'Just great. Do you think that they will manage to make it back here?' Danny asked.
'Nope. They just got surrounded.' The duplicate responded.
'Charles and Rudy got them?' Danny asked wondering how good Castro's men were to be able to capture S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.
'Nope. It does not seem this group is involved with either of them.' The duplicate replied.
'Is it the English team or that Fabian guy?' Danny asked thinking over who he might have to fight and what type of plan is needed.
'No. This seems to be a team and they have way more people than the spies we have seen at the hotel. It might be the Russians.' The duplicate responded.
That is true. Despite their efforts they had not been able to find out where the KGB is staying while waiting for the meeting.
'Can you rescue Schmeck and bring him here?' Danny asked.
'If I do that then we are not going to be able to find Hawkeye and Black Widow later.' The duplicate responded.
It seems that he is going to have to rescue all of them then come back here so that they could take the information and find the disc.
'Fine. Follow them but make sure that you are not noticed. Alert me when you find their base and I will take over.' Danny thought to the duplicate.
He had learned during his lessons with Clockwork that ghost can share their senses with their duplicates and for those with enough skill they could take over the duplicate's body.
'I understand.' The duplicate responded.

'I wonder how many guards they have inside?' Duplicate Danny wondered as he looked to the destination that the van had drove to.
It was an abandoned house that looked in dire need of a paintjob. The paint was peeling off the walls. It had no windows and gave the men inside a view for miles. Behind the house was swampland.
He could see big shadows moving under them. Whatever it was probably had sharp teeth and a strong bite.
'I found the place.' He thought to the original.
'Good. I am taking over.' The original thought to him alerting what was about to happen.
'Fine.' The duplicate thought back.
Danny sighed as he gained control and looked for someone to overshadow. He saw THAT someone walking over to the swamp to take a smoke.
'The weakness of addiction is a powerful thing.' Danny thought grateful that his opponents had such useful weaknesses.
He saw that in the back pocket of the man was a black mask. It was probably the reason how the duplicate was unable to tell who was doing the kidnapping. The man never saw him coming as he was invisible and overshadowed the guard. The moment he was in control he burned the cigarette to nothing. It was better for him this way. Given how his body felt he is going to have trouble breathing when he is older. He gave a sigh and started walking towards the house.
"What's the password?" Boris asked coming down the stairs with a gun.
"Seriously? You can see it's me?" Danny asked in Russian feigning annoyance.
He was not even wearing the mask. Conway Stern the man in charge of the mission was extremely paranoid and so came up with code phrases to make sure that only men with the proper codes could approach certain areas. At the slightest sign of suspicion, they were to be shot.
"You know the rules." Boris said as he started move his trigger finger.
"Silver Cat pounces at midnight." Danny said suppressing the shudder from going deeper into the man's memories.
"Clear." Boris said as he moved out of the way and stepped to the kitchen.
Danny moved up the steps. Conway is stationed in the fifth room of the third floor. The prisoners were stored in the basement in separate cells so they could hear others being tortured but unable to tell what exactly was happening. So far according to Anatoli's memories Kremenski had yet to begin the interrogation/torture, so it was best to see what is going on with Conway.
He turned intangible and invisible and flew up to the floor and room where Conway is working out of. He moved closer to where he could hear the sound of people talking.
"I have captured Schmeck and still have the money." Conway said.
It is likely that is Nikolai Jakov head of the KGB. He matched the description he had been given by Hawkeye and Black Widow. An old portly man that had gray hair and a mustache that looked like one of those cartoon combs.
"Good. Does he have the disk?" Nikolai Jakov asked.
"No, he had it hidden before he was grabbed by S.H.I.E.L.D. I am going to have Kremenski try to get the information out of him now." The dark-skinned man said.
"We need the disk Conway. The Americans are building a team of living weapons. We need to be aware of the mutants that they can launch against us." The old man said.
"I will get the information." Conway said.
Too bad he would never get the chance.
Danny turned solid while still invisible and punched Conway across the face so hard that he hit the ground. "You are working too hard. Enjoy your vacation."
He was sure that there was a smile on his face.
"Anatoli what are you doing?" Nikolai asked.
"Sorry boss. The money was too good to decline." Danny said letting him think that one of the spy agencies that heard about the meeting had offered Anatoli money to double cross him.
It was normal for the spy business. Let him focus on that so he does not realize what was actually going on.
"You will regret this!" Nikolai growled.
"I doubt that you will ever find me again." Danny said sticking a thumb drive in Conway's laptop taking all the files related to this mission.
The moment it was done he placed his hand on the laptop and fried it to pieces. It was time to go rescue his partners.

"So, this is the great Hawkeye." Danny said with Anatoli's Russian accent going strong as he looked at the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent that is only in his boxers.
While he would love to question the man about Fury this was not the time. Eventually someone would notice something was going on. They were required to check in with Conway every twenty minutes.
"I told you I am not answering any questions of yours." Hawkeye said.
Hawkeye was bound to the poles and his hands were wrapped in tape.
He wondered if it is the same for Black Widow.
"Don't need to. I know everything." Danny said with a smile as he turned his puppet's eyes glowing neon green.
"Kid I am glad to see you. We have to save Widow and Schmeck." Hawkeye said as he watched him get closer.
"I know. I bought us some time, but we need to hurry. " Danny said as he turned the ropes binding Hawkeye's hands and his feet to the chair intangible letting him break free.
"Alright." Hawkeye said as he jumped to his feet. "Do you know where our equipment is?"
"They are keeping both your clothes and your weapons on the floor above us." Danny answered.
"Let's go and get Widow and Schmeck. Then we can get my stuff." Hawkeye said as he stood up.
"Alright." Danny said before his eye began to twitch and his fingers started clenching as if to make a fist.
"What's the matter?" Hawkeye asked taking notice of the kid's reaction.
"Something we will have to deal with later. Right now, we need to get back on the mission." Danny said reigning in his feelings as he felt like charging at the enemies stationed in the house and not stopping until he made a pile out of the broken bodies.
The reason that he is so mad is that back in the hotel the noir movie the original had been watching had been hijacked. Now all the channels were broadcasting about the return of Magneto. It seems that they would not have enough time to prepare for whatever scheme Magneto is probably planning.
Danny took a deep breath to gain focus. At his current level if he was not careful, he could lose control over the clone. He put his hand on Hawkeye's shoulder and flew them to the cage that was holding Black Widow. Like Hawkeye she was stripped down to her bra and panties.
"It's about time." Black Widow said as she looked at the two of them.
"You good?" Hawkeye asked looking at Black Widow's bruises.
"This is from the fight earlier. Nothing I won't heal from." Black Widow answered.
"All that is left is to save Schmeck." Danny said as he walked to Black Widow.
"What about the man in charge?" Hawkeye asked.
"Conway Stern? He is stuck in his room on the third floor." Danny said as he tapped the ropes that are binding her, and they fell to the floor.
"That is the name of the man leading this? Good work kid." Hawkeye said.
"Now what is our next move?" Black Widow asked.
"There are intruders!" someone yelled.
"Looks like they know that you have freed us." Black Widow said.
"Doesn't matter. They have no mutants on this team. They have no weapons that can hurt me either." Danny said.
"Don't be cocky kid." Hawkeye said.
"I am in Anatoli's memories. I am pretty sure what weapons they have." Danny said as he tapped the cage turned it intangible allowing them to walk to Schmeck's cell.
"They can still hurt us." Black Widow said.
"You guys have to hurry and get me out of here." Schmeck said.
He walked to Schmeck intending to turn the ropes near intangible like the others.
"Calm down. That's what we are doing." Hawkeye said.
"How are we going to escape?' Schmeck asked.
"We already have a plan in mind." Danny said as he looked up to the ceiling.
"What in the world?" Schmeck said as they turned intangible and flew a floor up. "You are the Ultimate that took down weapon X."
There is anger in his eyes, but he could see that beneath it all the emotion he felt the most is fear.
"Yep, and if you get on my bad side while we are in the same room, I will do far worse to you." Danny said while the two agents got their clothes and weapons.
"Like what?" Schmeck asked.
"It is too horrible to put into words. Just know that if others were to see the haunted and traumatized children that see you will only ask one question. "Why?" Danny said with glowing eyes as he looked at Schmeck.
"You can scare the fool later. How are we going to get out of here?" Black Widow asked.
"Simple. Hold hands and think that there's no place like home." Danny said with a smile.
"Be careful when you mess with the Widow. She has been trained in plenty of ways that can take you down without leaving a trace." Hawkeye joked while looking serious.
"Does that make Hawkeye the scarecrow and you the tin man or is it reverse?" Black Widow asked.
"Wait so I am the lion without courage?" Schmeck asked.
"Obviously." Danny said as he teleported them back to the Quinjet.

(Quinjet)
"I am safe!" Schmeck yelled the moment that they appeared.
"Not quite." Danny said as he punched Schmeck in the face and knocked him to the floor unconscious.
"Why did you do that?" Black Widow asked as she walked to him.
"Even if he started talking there is a chance that he could lie. If we tie him up and I overshadow him then we can learn everything and save time." Danny said with a shrug.
"It would be easier for us to do it that way." Hawkeye said.
"Then what are we going to do about the guy that you are in control of right now?" Black Widow asked them.
"Knock him out the moment he is free. It will not make a difference when I come back to him." Danny said as he left Anatoli's body and stepped into Schmeck.
Schmeck's body is too important to risk going back to the hotel. It would be a lot easier to just risk Anatoli.
"So do you know where it is?" Black Widow asked once he opened his eyes.
"Yes. It seems that the disk is in a secret compartment in the hotel room next to his. He cut out a part of the wall in the room and hid it there" Danny said.
"What is the next part of the plan?" Black Widow asked.
"While you wait here, I am going to go and meet the original and give him Anatoli's body. He is then going to go to Schmeck's room and get the disk." Danny said purposefully referring to his body as if he is the duplicate.

"Here." The duplicate said placing the communicator on the bed and stepping out of Anatoli's body.
"Great. Now I want you to make sure all of the stuff we came with is teleported back to the ship. I have already had it packed." Danny said as he pointed at the suitcases that are laying around the hotel room.
He overshadowed Anatoli and picked up the earpiece communicator.
"Can you hear me kid?" Hawkeye asked.
"Loud and clear." Danny said.
"Call for backup if you need it." Hawkeye said.
Danny walked outside of the hotel room and to the elevator. He pressed the button and waited for the next one to come. It seemed that the elevator going down was going to arrive before the one that was going up. Hopefully it would open on his floor, and he could just ride it back up when the people got off.
'Yes.' Danny thought to himself as the elevator door slid open and an old woman walked out into the hall.
He let her pass and then took a step inside. He pressed the button for the floor that he wanted and turned to look around. He froze when he saw November 11th and Ms. April standing inside at the edge.
"Can I help you with something?" November 11th asked when he noticed that he is being stared at.
"I am good." Danny said as he moved to another edge of the elevator and just started looking for something to pass the time.
Eventually he found Anatoli's lighter.
"I would ask you follow the elevator's instructions and not light a cigarette in here." November 11th said.
"Great. Here we go again." Ms. April muttered to herself as she raised her hand to her head.
"What?" Danny asked as he turned to the British spy.
"Secondhand smoke kills. It is far worse than the fumes you inhale directly. Take Dihexomitrocelene one of those nasty carcinogens your doctor might have warned you on your last visit. November 11th said.
"Please do not light it." Ms. April said.
"Okay sorry." Danny said then using the awkwardness of the situation to press another button on the elevator to let him off on an earlier floor.
'Leaving the elevator on another floor will get up there another way." Danny said to Black Widow and Hawkeye.
Now that the elevator was no good, he is going to turn intangible and just fly to Schmeck's room. Once he turned solid, he walked to the sign pointing the door numbers and followed to the area where Schmeck's room is. He moved the desk and placed his hand on the wall. He turned a small part of the structure he was looking at intangible and see through. until he found what he was looking for. "I found it." as he looked at the disk. It would take very little effort to crush this.
"Now we have to bring it back to Fury." Black Widow said.
'I am not sure that this is a good idea.' Danny thought but did not say.
He was worried about what Fury would do once he got such a list. Fury might be convinced that it would be better to have the mutants on the list join S.H.I.E.L.D. The possible abilities that could be listed inside might make him think that they should either work for him or be stored away somewhere that could prevent them from hurting others or using their powers for their own benefit.
There were rumors at the Triskellion that Fury is having Thor followed just waiting for a chance to arrest him because how he rejected Fury's offer to join the Ultimates.
"Alright." Danny responded as he teleported away from the hotel and back to the quinjet.
He walked to the cockpit where Hawkeye and Black Widow are seated. "How are things going?"
"We were just waiting for you kid." Hawkeye said as he started pressing the buttons that would start their takeoff.
"Where is Schmeck?" Danny asked.
He did not see him when he teleported into the seating area where he had left him.
"We placed him prisoner's quarters for the moment. I am keeping an eye on him." Black Widow answered him glancing at the screen in front of her.
"Alright then let's go back to New York." Danny said as he walked back to the seating area.
He opened the bag he left behind and opened a comic book.
