Chapter 20
Tender moments
Reese was still seeing stars after the revelation that Yang is carrying his future child.
"Reese honey are you there?" Yang asks while poking him.
"Uhhhh." Reese says back.
"Hun you still in shock." Yang says.
"What is wrong with Reese? And why are you wearing my cloak?" Ruby says from behind.
"He felt dizzy and so he is sitting down. And for the cloak I wanted to see how it felt to wear one, I might get one in a gold brown shade." Yang says while keeping the truth from her sister.
"Ohh that's great, tell me so we can go select one for you." Ruby says enthusiastically.
Reese at this point got up and walked out to get some air.
Blake noticed him walking outside and decided to follow him.
Reese was walking into town to get a gift for Yang, but for the life of him he couldn't get a general idea of what to give her, at the same time he got a feeling that he was being watched.
Well to be more correct someone else is watching him besides Patty, Reese knows that she will try to warn him in some way, but the main problem is that he has battlefield and urban combat training not farmland training where electronics are a rare sight.
"Guess I'll go to the glass ornament store." Reese said under his breath.
Blake was now at least 50 feet behind him just simply observing him.
"What do you do when you're not in combat?" Blake says to herself.
Reese then got to the ornaments store where they hand make each glass ornament that can be used for one's garden or house decorations. But he was not there to find an ornament; he is going to use the reflective surface to look around.
He then sets himself up somewhere in the dark part of the store where the chaser has two options. Option one waits outside for Reese to come out. Or two get close to see him but risk being spotted.
Blake was struggling to see Reese in the dark part of the store so she got a little closer and as a good measure she put her hood up and she leaned up against the corner of the shop and waited.
Reese at the same time saw the distinctive black and white with a hint of purple colors that Blake had chosen.
"Why are you here? Let's play a game." Reese says to himself.
Reese then leaves the shop and sees that Blake is still on the corner waiting for him.
Reese then spotted a mirror in the distance.
"Let's see if you tail me." Reese says with a grin.
Blake let Reese get ahead of her about 12 seconds before she made her move. Blake then gave chase, at the same moment Reese saw her move in the mirror.
Reese then went to a jewelry stand and started to look at some necklaces (he wanted to get one for Yang, while at the same time catch the cat).
"Something catch your eye?" The nice lady asks.
"Uh, I'm looking for something nice for my wife. I was looking for something in silver with a purple and slight red gemstone in it." Reese says.(an updated version of the one that Yang wore on her first date with Reese, that was lost after the battle of beacon).
"Ah I see well I'll have to make one it will be an hour, what's the name on the order?" She asks.
"Reese xiao long." Reese says. (Technically Reese did have a last name of Schnee, but was dropped when Yang proposed to him.)
"Are you the boyfriend that got married to Yang?" The shopkeeper asks.
"The same." Reese says.
So that then turned into a conversation that lasted for a few minutes, but Reese then had to leave so that she could get to work.
Reese then looked around and caught a glimpse of Blake hiding behind a stand pretending to buy something.
"Now to catch the cat." Reese says to himself.
Reese then got evasive and moved in between stands, then he found a building that had a dark shadow to it, and Reese being Reese hides inside the shadow and waits.
And sure enough Reese hears a silght panic walk and it was Blake who was coming his direction.
"Count to three then grab." Reese says internally.
30 feet.
"1"
20 feet.
"2"
Blake quickened her pace slightly.
"3"
Reese then jumped from the shadow and right on time Blake was right there with a very surprised look on her face. In one quick fluid motion Reese grabbed her and brought her into the shadows.
"Well well look what I caught." Reese says with a grin.
"How did you know?" Blake asks.
"I saw you in several reflections that were positioned in front of me so I can see you." Reese says.
Blake then thought about it and yeah she forgot to look for any objects that could give her away.
"Darn it. I really wanted to see you if you had a "normal" mode. " Blake says with a little frustration.
"Well if you remember I don't technically have a normal mode." Reese says as he leaves the darkness with Blake in tow.
The two then spent some time talking with each other until it was time to pick up the necklace.
The shop keep then saw Blake was next Reese.
"I hope she is a friend?!" She asks.
"She is actually yangs friend she meet while she was attending beacon." Reese says while paying for the jewelry.
"Ok." She says.
After some distance Blake had to ask.
"What did she mean by that?" Blake asks.
"What she meant is she hopes I'm faithful to Yang." Reese says.
"Oh I see." Blake says.
When they both got home Blake went her separate way to call Sun on the phone, and Reese went to find Yang.
Reese then found Yang outside sitting on the hill not too far from the house. Reese got within ten feet of Yang when she turned around and looked at him with a smile.
"I have been waiting for you." Yang says.
"You have?" Reese says.
"Oh yes I was wondering where you have been?" Yang asks.
"Marketplace picking up something for you."Reese says.
"What did you get for me?" Yang says.
Reese then extended a case in his hands and Yang took it from him, she then opened it to see a silver necklace with a purple and red gemstone in the centerpiece of the necklace.
Yang then gave Reese the necklace and she turned around and lifted her hair up and Reese put it around her neck.
"It looks great on you." Reese says.
"Thanks Reese." Yang says as she turns around to face him.
Reese then immediately put his arms around her waist and she in return put her arms around his neck.
But Yang did something new, she put her leg around the backside of Reese's left leg and tripped him at the same moment she pressed really hard on his shoulders as if she was saying "down now" so Reese complied.
After the initial shock of hitting the ground Reese got his bearings and he looked up to see a mildly upset Yang.
"Tell me the truth Reese. Why did Blake follow you?" Yang asks with a little worry.
"She followed me into town to see if I had a normal mode, that's her words." Reese says.
"You sure?" Yang asks.
"Yang, why would I destroy something that I truly love?" Reese asks.
Yang was not ready for that question.
After a few minutes of sitting on top of Reese Yang started to cry a little.
"I'm sorry Reese, I was acting a little hasty. I thought you were cheating on me with Blake." Yang says.
"It's alright I forgive you. I love you and I don't want to hurt you or our child" Reese whispers as he leans up and hugs Yang.
After a few minutes Yang calmed down and now was holding Reese very close to her.
"So were you serious about getting a cloak?" Reese asks.
"No I wasn't. I said that as a cover so that Ruby wouldn't get too nosy." Yang says.
"Don't want her to know about your child?" Reese says as he puts his hand on Yang's abdomen.
"You mean our child." Yang says as she puts her hand over his.
"Yeah, our child. It feels so weird to say that." Reese says.
"Why?" Yang asks.
"Cuz i never thought I would be at this point in my life." Reese says.
"Really?" Yang says.
"Yes if you think about it, if you didn't pursue me back in beacon and showed me how much of my life was a lie it would have been a very different outcome." Reese says.
Yang then smiled and realized that she indeed changed his life and it was for the best. Well almost.
"I wish what happened at school didn't happen." Yang says.
"Me too Yang. I remember when you told me that you wanted to graduate and start with your huntswoman job right after school and have me tag along with you." Reese says.
"And get married." Yang says.
"And get married." Reese replies.
"So what did you do with the trackers that were inside Ruby?" Yang asks.
"Once I got them out I tossed them inside one of the jets and sent it in a random direction. Hopefully Salem got stumped." Reese says.
Meanwhile inside of Salem's castle.
"My Queen the Grim brought back Miss Rose for you." Watts says.
"Bring her to me." Salem commands.
"Well she is inside the body of a jet and she refuses to come out." Watts says.
Salem sighs and gets up from her throne and walks outside to see a section of a jet, mainly the canopy.
Salem then grabbed the hatch and forced it open to see it empty except for the trackers in a jar.
Watts then knew to start stepping back cus Salem was about to explode with anger.
"GRWAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWW!" Salem shouted.
The windows and the dirt shock with that shout.
After a few minutes Salem calmed down, and she turned to her associate next to her.
"Go track her down anyone who gets in your way. Remove them but bring Ruby to me unharmed." Salem commands.
"Yes my queen I will get the rose for you." A guy with a scorpion tail says as he takes a portal.
Back on the hill Reese and Yang were still enjoying their alone time.
"The sun is going down." Reese says.
"Humm, we still have time." Yang says.
Reese then looks at Yang where in return she looks back at him, Yang then puts her head in Reese's neck and just snuggles with him, then the sky gets dark.
"Honey, you want to continue in our room?" Reese asks.
Yang then gets up and grabs Reese's hand and leads him back to the house. Yang then looked through the window to see everyone sitting down and watching a movie. Yang then in her most covert way opens the door silently, now everyone has their attention on the tv but zwei on the other hand notices them enter. Reese gave the dog the "stay" hand signal and zwei actually stayed.
They both then silently moved upstairs where they proceeded to start cuddling and making out with each other in Yang's room.
After a few hours they both stopped so they could catch their breaths.
"I'm really a lucky guy." Reese says as he looks into Yang's eyes.
"Well I'm a really lucky woman who got a great guy." Yang says.
Reese then hugs Yang and plants a kiss on her forehead.
"Same to you, you're a great woman." Reese says with a smile.
"Correction, great wife." Yang says with a grin.
"You are a great wife." Reese says.
"And you're a great husband." Yang says.
Just then both of them heard someone coming down the hallway and was approaching the room.
Reese then moved over to the right side of yangs bed so it looked like they were asleep. The door opens and it was ruby and she went straight to her bed and threw her cover over her and fell asleep in a instant.
Yang then looked at Reese and whispered.
"Well fun time is over." Yang says.
"Eh not yet but we can have, fun time later." Reese says.
"Yeah you're right." Yang says as she closes her eyes so she can get some sleep.
"Night sweetheart." Reese says.
"Night honey." Yang says.
