Chapter 2 - Summer Vacations

Summer vacations had just started for Shuchi'in students, both from middle and high school. However...

JUST LIKE HER BROTHER, KEI HAD NOTHING PLANNED FOR THE BEGINNING OF THE SUMMER!

This circumstance was a result of her best friend, Moeha, traveling abroad and only telling her about it at the end of the term, which Kei could swear was something she did on purpose. Her pink haired friend could be very sadistic at times. So now, she only had plans for going out with the two youngest among the Fujiwara siblings and Shinomiya-senpai at the end of summer.

She thought about inviting vice-president Shinomiya to go shopping with her, but just the thought of it made her mentally stammer, so she gave up on that idea. And it would feel wrong to go out just with her, when Chika-nee and Moeha weren't there. Nonetheless, she was determined to go out with someone, and thus began considering who would be the one to accompany her.

Her brother? No, he would think she liked him, and she might pass the impression of being a brocon, and she refuses to suffer such humiliation.

Her father? Even worse, the old man went past the point of embarrassing her, and now just made her sad to see him attempting to act young.

Her other friends from school? All of them either had plans, or she didn't feel their relationship was close enough to invite them to pass some time alone with her. Not only that, but the boys (and some of the girls) might think she was interested in them, and she was interested in...

Ishigami, of course! She should invite him! It would be the best moment to know him better, and maybe even make him fall for her! And in case that doesn't happen, as long as everything goes well, she could keep going out with him, which would give her more opportunities! It was the perfect plan! There was just one flaw...She didn't have his number, or email, or any other ways to contact him!

And the only one that could give her access to the emo, that was featured in her daydreams ever since she met him, was...her brother.

"*sigh* This is going to be a rough day."

*****Chapter 2*****

The president of the Student Council was spread on the floor, brooding over his lack of sight when he solely planned what to do for the end of the summer, without deciding with them what to do DURING said period. In hindsight, that was really something they should have noticed sooner, but now it was too late to cry over the spilt milk.

Suddenly, his sister face appeared in front of him.

"What are you doing, moping in the ground? Disgusting." She sneered at him.

"I made plans with my friends to attend the festival at the end of summer, and we forgot to plan to do things before that." He didn't even bother to complain about the last part being unnecessary.

"Who forgets something like that? Pathetic." She continued sneering.

She did. (A/N: Oh, the hypocrisy) I know, right?

"Stop kicking a dead horse, would you? Just go away." He just turned his head, not willing to keep talking to her.

Kei couldn't stop herself from clenching her teeth. She thought he would try to change subjects by asking what she wanted, this way she could keep her pride as a teenager by not being the one to ask first, but it seems her idiotic brother didn't get the memo, so she would have to take a different approach.

"Pass me your phone." She extended her hand so he could give it to her

"What?! No, why would I?" He turned back to look at her, bewildered.

"Because I can't be bothered with your drama this summer, thus I'll call your friends for you, so as to make plans in your behalf."

"No way, what would they think of me if I did that?" he then started imagining Kaguya's reaction.

"President, you wanted to go out with me, but got so nervous that you needed your sister to call me in your stead? How cute!" She would say, with a sarcastic smile on her face.

He shivered at that mental image.

"Then you call them, and I'll be here to make sure you do it." She squatted by his side, staring coldly at him.

"Fine, but why do you care so much whether I go out with them or not?" He pretended to just be asking a meaningless question while he unlocked his phone, as if he didn't care about the answer, but in reality he was hoping the reason was that she still cared about him. Ever since she became a teenager, she started acting coldly towards him, and it's been a long time since they talked normally to each other.

"The more time you spend with them, the less I have to see you, so it's a win-win situation" She answered, with a deadpan face

At that, an illusionary raining cloud appeared over Myuki. As he got distracted by her commentary, he didn't notice his sister looking at the number he was about to call intensely, as if to memorize it.

"Whose number is that?" She asked, hoping it was the one she wanted.

"It's Ishigami's, I'm going to him, and if he agrees, then I'll call Shinomiya." He told her while thinking 'So if he refuses, I won't need to call her, and if he agrees, I can always tell her it was his idea.' and as such, believed that he had thought out a flawless plan, only...

"You can't invite him" Kei dropped a bucket of cold water on her brother's scheme.

"...Weren't you the one saying that I should go out with my friends?" At this point, a tick suddenly developed on his left eyebrow.

"Yes but I asked him to help me, you know, because of my treasurer duties, since he is more experienced." She shot back.

"But I haven't even decided yet when to meet them?" He tried arguing.

"Were you thinking about doing it this weekend?" She raised an eyebrow at him

"...Yes." His shoulders slumped at his own confirmation. He had work on weekdays, after all, and he also focused on his own studies on those days.

"Then you can call Shinomiya-san to go visit the zoo with you, or do something else, or just call others friends. Anyway, I need to do my things, so I'll be going." She got up, and completely ignoring the fact she said to him that until he called his friends she would be by his side, went away. Luckily for her, Myuki got so nervous about the prospect of going on a date with Kaguya, even an unofficial one, that he didn't even notice her slip up. He kept debating with himself, but in the end, failed to gather up enough courage to call her.

Today's results: Kei wins!(A/N: she acquired Ishigami's number)

Kei kept giggling after adding Ishigami's number to her contact list as "Yu-kun (future boyfriend)". Myuki, meanwhile, went back to brooding, after realizing that he would spent, at the very least, one more week without enjoying summer with his friends.
