Chapter 386: Royal Woods Musical Show...
(October 13. Royal Woods High School. Royal Woods, Michigan.)
The night has come, and we see the gym is packed with people, and the students backstage are all prepping up for tonight, and whoever is headed to the stage first. Luna seems a little hesitant, and she goes through the lyrics again, and she memorized all of this.
Sam then goes over with her guitar. "You doing alright, babe? Something on your mind?"
Luna sighs and she nods. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just need to try and get it together, the last time we faced a big crowd was the whole tour, and even though this is just some folks from the town, it still feels like we're on tour again, but without that psycho manager."
Sam agrees. "No kidding. Still, we should go out there and show everyone what we can do and... spencer?" They both see Spencer, the Captain of the High School Foot Ball Team, and he has this large and long crate standing.
Luna is surprised. "Wait, you're also competing for tonight?"
Spencer chuckles. "Darn right I am, and I have been practicing all summer. See you on stage later, everyone." He then pushes the crate, and everyone else is surprised.
Sully then asks. "Anyone here think he's gonna be beat boxing?"
(Later.)
A lot of musical performances have been shown, and many of them amazing. From Jackie and Mandee performing the song Black Magic. Some members of the gymnastics club, performing a symphony theme with violins of Titanic, the karate club performing the song "Kung Fu Fighting" and of course, Sully and Mazzy and the song they wanted to perform, King of Kings.
Many others made their own songs, and performed well with the audience loving it, though the so-called Squirrel Feeding Club were using Wild West Hillbilly instruments to make a song about... Squirrels... I honestly don't know what to make of that one.
Then we see Principal Rivers on stage. "Alright everyone. Now, time for the next team to perform, and we all know them and love them. Luna Lewis, and Sam Sharp!" Everyone claps and cheers, and they see the duet come out from the backstage, and have acoustic guitars.
They can see so many people are here, and even their families of the Sharps, Louds and Lewis', and others. Lincoln and Michelle wave to Luna, and Michelle is recording this with her video camera, and seeing them makes her smile and have the motivation to make this happen.
Luna looks to her girlfriend. "You ready for this thing, Sam?"
Sam nods, and has determination in her eyes. "Oh heck yeah I am, Lunes."
They then begin the beat, and together they sing the song that they made.
Luna Lewis: Standing here on my own.
Yeah, the first step's the hardest.
When you're walking into the unknown.
It's been dark, and it's been cold.
Had my head in the clouds.
Never knowing what lies down below
Then you spoke your truth with no secrets.
Told me, "Use your heart while it's beating"
Luna and Sam: When you're right here beside me.
There's nothing else I need.
Your eyes keep me reminded.
That nothing's out of reach.
When you're with me.
It feels like I'm finally free.
Feels like I'm finally free
Sam Sharp: I didn't know.
Didn't know what was real.
Had to go to the edge.
And the ground just to see how it feels
Then you spoke your truth with no secrets.
Told me, "Use your heart while it's beating"
Luna and Sam: When you're right here beside me.
There's nothing else I need.
Yeah, your eyes keep me reminded.
That nothing's out of reach.
When you're with me.
It feels like I'm finally free.
(Woo, woo).
Feels like I'm finally free
I used to spend my nights looking at the stars.
Wondering how to get there, is it just too far?
I used to spend my nights looking at the stars.
Wondering how to get there, is it just too far?
Luna Lewis: But when you're right here beside me.
There's nothing else I need
Sam Sharp: Yeah, your eyes keep me reminded.
That nothing's out of reach.
Luna and Sam: It's easy to believe.
When you're with me.
It feels like I'm finally free
(Oh yeah)
It feels like I'm finally free
(Woo, woo)
It feels like I'm finally free
Everyone claps and cheers hearing this, and Michelle Lewis and Allyson Sharp cheer. "That's my girl!" Everyone else claps and cheers, and this makes Luna and Sam take a bow.
They then leave to the backstage, and are congratulated by the others. Then Principal Rivers makes an announcement. "Alrighty then, last performance of the night, give it up for the Captain of the Royal Woods High School football team, Spencer!"
She steps off the stage, and Spencer comes in with the large crate he had, and his team who are watching cheer him on, and the cheer leaders and Ruby from the Stage performance club. She wants to know what he has planned.
The others are confused, about the crate and this makes Lynn Jr smirk. "Chances he's gonna be doing some rapping and beat boxing. I mean, he's a tough football teen and..."
He opens the box, and all four sides fall and reveal a large harp, and everyone is surprised and even at backstage and they all don't even know what to make of this. Lola is confused. "What the heck?"
Spencer clears his throat, and he adjusts his hair. "This is something I came up with called... A Symphony on the Playing Field." He then starts to play the harp with his eyes closed, and the way he plays it is amazing! He's like a professional when playing this instrument!
Everyone is jaws agape seeing this. Michelle records this and so does Lynnard Loud, and at the back everyone is baffled, and the three judges who are Principal Rivers, Ms. Bernardo and Ms. Vaporciyan.
They all continue to watch this Foot Ball Player perform on such an elegant instrument of music...
(One hour later!)
Everyone is still amazed, it's been one hour and he's still playing this harp with such elegance, and many folks are in tears hearing this beautiful music. Luna and Sam are surprised, astounded and have some tears, and Sully is already in tears.
Lynn Jr is baffled, amazed and also crying and it makes her feel like High School Foot Ball will the best thing to have ever happened to her. 'I wanna... Take Annie, on a date... To a Football field.'
Spencer then finishes, and everyone claps and cheers as he takes a bow, and then Principal Rivers speaks. "I can... speak for the rest of us...That the winner is..."
Ms. Bernardo intervenes. "Such grace and elegance, such astounding performance! I have never ever known someone such as you to perform such a tune of true melodic and profound to the meaning of things, and thus you have earned such the victory than any other!"
Spencer is confused, and everyone is silent. "What?"
So, Ms. Vaporciyan speaks. "Spencer, you won!"
Everyone cheers, and so does Spencer as the confetti and balloons come down. "Woohoo! Yes, I won! I won something that isn't Foot Ball... for once." Ruby then goes on stage, and she shares a kiss with Spencer, and the others from backstage come over, and they surround and cheer for Spencer and what he did.
Luna and Sam also clap, even though they didn't win. That sure was something amazing, and unexpected and what matters is that they had fun, and are passionate about it. Sam then asks Luna. "So, any plans for tomorrow?"
Luna chuckles. "Gotta go with Linc and the others, for one night at the graveyard."
A/N: Luna and Sam did perform, and though they didn't win, it's alright. Did everyone else realize where that scene of the harp was inspired from? I hope that you all enjoyed reading this new chapter everyone.
