EmberSunblaze: Hello! I give you the chapter you've probably all been waiting for...at least part of it. So this party chapter went through a lot of edits, probably more than any of the other parts of this story. Mostly because there are a lot of characters and stuff I want them to do or talk about and it can get really tricky trying to write all to where they can eventually connect to one another...if that makes any sense? :/ ? Anyways... my original goal was to have this chapter end at a very specific point, but as I got 20 pages into it, I realized I was not even close to that point, thus, why this chapter is split into two parts! \^-^/ So please enjoy part 1 of the party. Reviews are appreciated!
Chapter 24: The Party (Part 1)
"SURPRISE!"
The girls stood frozen in battle stances, completely unexpecting the whole of class 1-A to be congregated in the newly, colorfully decorated garden. A folded table had been set out and held an array of desserts and colorful seafood dishes. The boys all wore origami-ed together paper party hats and were crowded together, beaming up at them in celebration.
"Look at all this!" Uraraka exclaimed, her gaze roaming the festivities before them. Tsuyu nodded in agreement.
"So this is what they've been up to." Jiro commented with an amused grin. "Those big dummies."
Iida stepped forwards with a respectful salute to the stunned group. "As President of Class 1-A it is my great honor to present our "Welcome Back and Thank-You Very Much for Your Hard Work Party!"
"We tried to shorten it to "The Girls Rule Party", Sero piped in, "but Iida said it wasn't 'specific' enough."
"As I was saying," Iida continued, his hand chopping down harshly atop Sero's skull. "We all came together to commemorate both your team's fortitude and heroism during today's mission. As students of U.A. we are fully aware of the risks and the bravery needed when facing enemies. But none here, besides you six, know the hardships of fighting against a friend."
The mood of the party softened slightly at this, but Iidya smiled, brightly adding, "But being the astounding heroines you all are, you all performed splendidly! Not only locating the lost students but also breaking your classmates free from the control of that notorious villainess! I daresay this mission will go down in the U.A. history books!"
The class responded with a jubilant cheer. Dark Shadow appeared out of Tokoyami, beautiful wreaths of flowers hanging from his talons. He swooped over the girls, cheerfully dropping the flower lei's over each girl. The girls laughed, admiring the new tropical accessories around their necks.
Kaminari dashed up, grabbing the microphone from Iida and taking over. "Enough with the serious talk! Check out all this awesome stuff!"
"Like decorations!" Kaminari said, pointing to the brightly colored banners and folded paper lanterns hanging across the garden.
"We've got entertainment!" He exclaimed, gesturing to where Aoyama elegantly posed over a very old looking karaoke machine.
Aoyama winked, "Come sing with moi!"
"We've got fine dining!" Kaminari dashed over to the long table where Todoroki quietly stood guard over trays of fresh sushi, sashimi and tempura covered seafood. He was decked in a black serving apron and a matching black chef headband with the kanji for "Victory" strapped against his forehead. "With only the freshest of ingredients provided by our very own Todoroki here!" Kaminari exclaimed, throwing an arm around his shoulder.
"Just so you know, I didn't cook any of this." Todoroki stoically stated.
"Good to know, kero." Asui murmured, as the girls all nodded in silent agreement.
"And last but not least, " Kaminari said, moving to the last table where there was a colorful array of cakes, tarts, and bowls of freshly chopped up tropical fruit. "We have the desserts provided by our class's number one sugar daddy, Satooooo!" Sato grinned, giving an embarrassed wave at the jubilant introduction.
Kaminari quickly turned to the girls, enthusiastically asking, "So! What do you think! Sounds like a fun time, am I right?!"
Acting as their spokesperson, Yaoyrozu stepped forward, smiling kindly at the boys crowded below. "The party you have painstakingly planned out is truly a kind and wonderfully generous gesture that none of us were expecting tonight. I think I speak for all of us when I say we are very appreciative of all of what you have provided. With that being said," She gestured towards the group consisting of Midoriya, Bakugo, Tokoyami, Kirishima, and Kaminari. "None of our accomplishments today would have been possible without the help of others."
Like a royal princess, she elegantly flourished her arms forward, their light casting a brilliant glow upon the onlookers. Her quirk activated and petals of every color whirled into the air like confetti, along with additional wreaths of lei necklaces. Each girl caught them, watching as Yaoyorozu stepped towards the still hovering Dark Shadow. "Which is why, they too, should be celebrated for their actions." She warmly declared, setting the wreath of dark red hibiscus upon a pleased Dark Shadow's head. The rest of the girls followed Yaoyorozu's lead as she set a matching set on Tokoyami's head. Each running up and also handing out wreaths of flowers to the boys they had earlier fought against.
Mina skipped towards Kirishima, who shyly accepted the wreath of cute pink blossoms. "Hope you don't mind pink!" She said, a little more timidly than normal. The effect was immediate on Kirishima, who was already suffering from a racing heart.
The boy gave a lopsided grin, blushing as he answered. "Are you kidding…I love pink!" His eyes widened and he flusteredly added, "I mean the flowers! I love the pink flowers…" He gulped, bullets of sweat cascading down as fought the urge to flee from her luminous golden gaze. "Pink is….pretty, very pretty."
She grinned and Kirishima practically melted with relief as she sweetly replied. "It is, isn't it?"
At the same time, Hagakure dashed over to Bakugo, the ruby red flower necklace twirling in her invisible hand. "Hoohoo! Flowers for the dashing Bakugo!" She cheerfully exclaimed, reaching on her tiptoes to place the flowers over his head.
He turned his head sharply away, grumpily muttering. "Don't want it."
Before she could protest, he stalked off without another word, leaving her alone with the wreath. Hagakure's cheeks puffed up into an annoyed pout. "Hmph! Even when I'm trying to be nice, he has to act like a jerk!"
Tsuyu swept past them, hopping over to where Todoroki stood at the food table. Her tongue lifted a wreath of mixed white and red kika blossoms, and set it neatly around his neck "Thank you for saving me, kero!" Tsuyu said, smiling in gratitude at the surprised hero.
He returned the smile, "Anytime."
Uraraka uneasily made her way to Midoriya. "Umm…this is for you, Deku." She sheepishly lowered a wreath of white jasmine blossoms over Midoriya's head. "Thanks for helping us back there."
Midoriya smiled, thankful just to have her speaking to him. "I really didn't do much. You were the amazing one back there." Uraraka turned red at the compliment, bashfully turning away.
Beside them, Jiro was setting a wreath of yellow orchid blossoms over Kaminari's head while asking, "Let me guess, this whole get together was your idea?"
Kaminari laughed, embarrassedly scratching the back of his head. "Guess you caught me? But what do you think? Pretty sweet party, right?!"
"We'll see." Jiro replied, winking as she grabbed his mike and loudly exclaimed, "ENOUGH WITH THE FORMAL STUFF! LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!"
The crowd cheered their approval and with that the party celebrating the success of the mission truly began.
As the cheers died down and the class began to disperse to enjoy themselves, Ashido and Kirishima found themselves left alone. The two stared at each other, both feeling both happy and incredibly shy on how to proceed forward. Even Ashido, who was always great in social situations, found herself drawing a nervous blank.
"Shoot! Here I was teasing Uraraka all this time and now look at me!" Ashido internally bemoaned. "After all that the show with that kiss, I can hardly even look at him right now!"
"Damn it, Kirishima! Pull yourself together!" Kirishima sternly chastised himself, "She confessed her feelings to me, even after all the hell I put her through! I can't just stand here like an idiot! I have to give her a proper answer! That's what a man would do!"
"I like your flowers…they match your outfit!" He nervously complimented, pointing towards her fuschia tinted flower necklace that indeed complimented her purple tank top.
"Thanks!" Ashido said, pleased at the remark. "Do you want to grab some food or something?" She suggested, eagerly pointing at the food table. "I'm pretty hungry. The girls and I have been mostly snacking on ice-cream at the hospital. So real food sounds so delish right now!"
"No way! Ice-cream!?" Kirishima exclaimed in distraught. "We didn't get any!"
Ashido giggled, giving him a cheeky wink. "And sata andagi!"
"Sata…what?"
She grabbed his arm, pulling him towards the desert table. "How about I just show you. I'm sure the inn probably made some." But Kirishima was far too concerned with the feel of her body pressed against his to even worry about food. So distracted, that he barely heard Sero's voice until the tape-quirked hero pulled him away from Ashido's embrace.
"Mind if I borrow Kirishima for a sec?!" Sero asked Ashido, his forearm coming around Kirishima's neck and dragging him away. "We're in a tough spot over here and could really use some extra muscle!"
"Um, sure?" Ashido answered, a little baffled at the sudden request.
"Awesome!" Sero cheerfully exclaimed, pushing away a protesting Kirishima. "Come on, buddy!"
"Okay." Ashido replied, trying to hide her disappointment. Hagakure joined her, sipping some freshly made yuzu juice.
"What was that about?"
"Not sure." Ashido replied, with a heavy sigh.
Hagakure affectionately nudged her friend's side with her elbow. ""You know if you give me a kiss on the cheek, I might invite you to eat with me!"
Ashido laughed, yuzu juice almost spilling on them as she playfully tried to push her away. "Hahah, cut it out Toru! That tickles! Oh, hey what's with the two leis?" Ashido asked, pointing to Hagakure's neck. "Weren't one of those supposed to be given to the guys?"
"Oh, one was supposed to go to Bakugo." Hagakure explained, as they both strolled to the food table and grabbed plates. "But he wouldn't take it."
"Maybe YOU should plant a kiss on him, to warm up that cold heart of his!" Ashido teased, wiggling her eyebrows in a suggestive manner. Even with being invisible, Hagakure's glare was still quite evident.
She gave a sarcastic laugh, answering, "Haha…he's already damaged one leg, my back, both arms, and my neck. I'd like to keep my face intact if you don't mind."
Ashido selected some shrimp sashimi and several different sushi rolls. "Hmm…I guess he did do a number on you, didn't he?" She popped one of the rolls into her mouth, looking thoughtful. "But you know…" She added, swallowing. "I wonder if that's the reason why he didn't accept your flowers?"
Hagakure sipped her juice, not replying. And for once, Ashido was unable to read what was mulling through her best friend's mind.
"Yo, Momo!" Jiro called out, waving towards the dark-hair beauty from her spot next to Kaminari. "You ready to grab some grub?"
Yaoyorozu smiled, pleased to see Jiro still on good terms with their electrically-quirked classmate. "At least until he says something to make her mad again." She couldn't help contemplating, knowing full well her best friend often became overly prickly when it came to Kaminari. She focused her attention beyond them, to where she could see Todoroki standing next to a disgruntled Bakugo.
Feeling determined, she kindly replied, "You two go on ahead! I…have something I wanted to take care of first."
Jiro shot her a questioningly gaze, before curling her lips into a knowing smirk. "Gotcha! Just don't forget to grab some food after talking with him."
"Wait, who's him?" Kaminari asked.
"No one!" Jiro replied, her ear jack giving him a playful jab. "You're too loud!"
Yaoyorozu chuckled, finding their interactions adorable. She wove her way through the party, feeling flutters in her stomach as she approached her target. "Calm yourself!" She sternly chastised herself, "I am merely doing the obligatory steps of giving gratitude for the protection of a precious teammate! Nothing more!" But even these reasons wouldn't slow the rapid beating of her heart.
He glanced up at her as she appeared, looking surprised. "Yaoyorozu?"
"Good evening Todoroki, Bakugo." She added, greeting him politely. He scowled,
"That was a nice speech you gave." Todoroki said, causing her to flush with joy at the compliment. Before she could reply, a fourth person suddenly joined their group.
"Bakugo, buddy!" Sero cut in, throwing an arm around the scowling teen. "I'm going to need your help with some wires, if you don't mind!"
"What the hell do I know about wires!?" Bakugo snapped.
"Everything!" Sero insisted,"Come on! They're right next to the karaoke machine!" Todoroki and Yaoyorozu watched curiously as Sero half pushed, half dragged a complaining Bakugo away.
"That was odd." Yaoyorozu commented, "I do wonder if Bakugo is the right person to ask for assistance for that sort of situation."
Todoroki nodded, grimly adding, "I hope the wires will be okay." He then turned her way, his blue gaze seeming to bore into her as he commented. "Speaking of which, I'm glad you're looking well."
Yaoyorozu blushed crimson, modestly looking down at her attire that consisted of a simple red halter top and black shorts. "Oh…thank you…"
He glanced towards the partygoers, where the other girls could be seen beginning to mingle. "Compared to the others, you don't seem to have any visible injuries."
"Stupid Momo! Of course he was talking about my health!" Yaoyorozu mentally berated herself, who for a moment had thought he was complimenting her looks. Calming herself, she politely replied, "Yes, compared to the others I came off lightly. Though I can't say it's something I'm particularly happy about."
"I'm happy you're okay." Todoroki replied, his tone sincere. Yaoyorozu felt her heart leapt within her chest and she had to quickly turn away to hide her blush.
"It's…it's not that I'm not happy." Yaoyorozu explained, stuttering slightly in her bashful state. "It's just as their leader, I would have preferred to have been able to come up with a plan to minimize the damage done to my teammates." She glanced back at him, graciously adding, "That's actually why I came to speak to you. I wanted to personally thank you for saving Tsuyu today. From the grim way she described her situation, it's clear if it wasn't for your assistance she wouldn't be here with us tonight." She solemnly lowered her head. "For that, you have my humblest of thanks."
"There's really no need for thanks." Todoroki replied, feeling slightly self-conscious. "We're heroes. That's just what we do, right?"
"True." Yaoyorozu replied with a smile. "But it's still nice to get a thank-you, isn't it?"
"I guess so." He murmured, her cute smile making him even more uneasy. He watched her as her attention focused towards their classmates. Her onyx gaze seemed to soften. He followed her look and saw Midoriya speaking with Uraraka, both teens looking extremely awkward but happy to see eachother. Iida and Tsuyu soon joined them, easing the mood.
Yaoyorozu was about to comment, but was beaten by Todoroki, who quietly noted, "I'm glad to see him smiling."
She frowned. "I imagine there were difficulties here at the inn after everything that occurred."
He nodded, fidgeting with the flowers hanging from his neck. "When they first arrived, it felt like a dark cloud was hanging over them. You could tell they really felt awful about what they had done."
"I…see." Yaoyorozu replied quietly, fists nervously clenching. "I know the teachers would have informed them of what happened." She quietly fretted, guilt weighing on her as she remembered how she had angrily berated the boys about their actions after being rescued. "But still….hearing my outburst back there…must have been unpleasant."
"I can understand their concern." Todoroki mused, his blue eyes softly falling on her. "If it was me, I would not have be pleased to discover I had made you suffer any sort of pain."
Yaoyorozu felt her pulse quicken, a warmth erupting in her chest at his sentiment. She averted her gaze, shyly replying, "I…I'm glad that's not the case either. You would have been a formidable adversary." Feeling bashful, she moved towards the food table, eying the colorful array of seafood dishes. "Is what Kaminari said true?" She curiously inquired, "Did you truly catch all of this yourself?"
"Yes," Todoroki answered, coming to stand next to her. "After our volleyball session, an old man gave me his fishing pole to watch. That's pretty much where all this came from."
"You caught all of this with just a mere fishing pole!?" She asked, shocked.
"Is that surprising? I feel like Endeavor used to catch a similar amount on our fishing trips when I was young."
"Your bloodline has….quite the unique abilities." Yaoyorozu secretly mused. She picked up a sashimi piece containing the pearly white meat of a grouper fish, answering. "To tell you the truth, I really don't have experience to say for sure since I've never been fishing." She popped the sashimi piece into her mouth. "Mmmm! Exquisite flavor!"
"Do you want to go fishing together?"
Yaoyorozu made a choking noise, barely swallowing in time as she turned to him in surprise. "Pardon?"
Todoroki nodded, "Aizawa Sensei told us tomorrow we have a free day to do as we please. So if you want, I can take you fishing."
"But surely you would rather spend your free day doing something else, instead of spending it alone with me!" She exclaimed, growing flustered at the mere thought. "I mean…I don't even know the basics on fishing! You'll most likely be very bored!"
Todorokie moved closer, towering over Yaoyorozu. "You spent your day on the beach instructing me on how to play volleyballl." Todoroki reminded her. "You can think of this as returning the gesture. Besides…" He added, his lips curving into a rare smile. "I'm never bored when I'm talking with you, Yaoyorozu."
"Todoroki! You can't say things like that!" Yaoyorozu internally shrieked, feeling completely at her limit. "My heart can't take it!" She placed her hand over her heart, trying to compose herself.
"If that is truly how you feel…." She replied, timidly looking up and meeting his gaze. "...then I'll be in your care tomorrow."
"You were the amazing one back there."
Uraraka blushed, glancing down bashfully at her feet. She heard Jiro loudly calling for the party to begin and then she felt her class start to disperse, leaving her and Midoriya alone. " It's hard to believe this is really the first conversation we've had since everything that's happened." She gulped, feeling her palms grow sweaty with nerves. "...is it supposed to feel this awkward?"
As if sensing her discomfort, Midoriya quickly asked, "I'm really glad you're out of the hospital! How is your arm? It doesn't hurt does it?"
Uraraka's lips curved into a small smile. "It's a little sore, but the bones are all perfectly mended." She stretched it out, bending it at the elbow. "See?" But she saw Midoriya was not listening, his green orbs focused on the visible red markings that spiraled along her skin. She swiftly hid it behind her back, loudly asking. "W-what about you?"
"Oh…I'm good!" Midoriya answered, forcing a grin. Uraraka had a sinking suspicion his mind had been reeling over the scars on her arm. He tapped his cheek, where a small bandage was visible. "Just a bad bruise."
Uraraka studied the bandage, her eyes lighting up with recognition. "Oh! I remember! That's where I punched…" She faltered, mouth twitching uneasily. "...you." She reddened, clapping her hands together and bowing her head in a rushed apology. "I'm so sorry Deku! That was my fault! My bad!"
Midoriya covered his mouth, chuckling despite himself. "Uraraka! I'm pretty sure that should be my line to you!"
Uraraka smiled, feeling more at ease right now than she had in a while. "Thanks Deku…maybe things haven't changed between us."
"Midoriya! Uraraka!" Iida's voice demanding voice suddenly boomed out, causing both teens to jump in surprise. Before they could react, the bespectacled friend appeared between them, his muscular arms pulling the two into a tight bear hug. "It's so good to have the gang back together again, isn't it?!"
"Y…Y…Yep! It's great!" Midoriya stuttered out. Unknownst to Iida, his bear hug had unintentionally smooshed Midoriya and Uraraka together to where their faces were mere inches away from each other.
Uraraka was completely unable to answer. Not when Midoriya was so close that she could count all his freckles and could feel his breath tickling her skin. "The last time we were this close…we…" She reddened as his startled green gaze found hers and she knew without a doubt he was thinking the same thing.
"Iida, I don't think they can breathe, kero."
Both Midoriya and Uraraka turned crimson, their heads turning at the same time to see Asui, in a yellow top and blue shorts, holding two cups of shikuwasa juice. (See author's note) Iida instantly released the two, his expression brightening at the sight of the frog girl.
"Asui! Just the person I wanted to see!" He exclaimed, sprinting towards her and halting in a deep bow position. "I sincerely apologize for my earlier misconduct! You administered direct instructions for me to stay on the alert for any signals from you if something was amiss! I should have immediately alerted the teachers when you never came up to make a report. I have clearly failed on my part and will await punishment for my actions."
"It's fine, kero." Was Asui's simple response.
"No! No! I insist on a debt for my mistakes!" Iida furiously declared.
Asui took a sip of her drink, handing the empty cup to Iida. "May you give me a refill please?"
"OF COURSE!" Iida answered immediately, zooming towards the food table with her cup in hand.
"That one's a handful, kero." Asui thought, with a small shake of her head. She turned to Uraraka with the other cup. "I grabbed you some…juice?" She paused, blankly staring at her two friends as they stood several feet apart, completely flustered and unable to even face each other. She sighed, who after watching them from afar had thought they had made some progress. "And just like that we're back to square one, kero."
Before she could intervene, Sero suddenly appeared, using his tape to wrap Midoriya up and drag him away. He waved cheerfully at the girls, as if this was completely normal. "Heya girls! Don't mind me! I just need to borrow Midoriya for a sec! Enjoy the party!"
The two girls watched Midoriya get dragged away, their baffled expressions mimicking each other.
"Man, this food looks totally awesome!" Kaminari exclaimed, drooling as he laid eyes on the festive display of colorful sashimi, sushi, and tempera encrusted seafood.
"It does pretty good." Jiro had to agree, slurping mango juice from a straw as she watched Kaminari pile food on his plate. "I wonder what the other girls are up to?" She silently wondered, glancing around. She spied Mina and Toru eating together, but she was really curious about how the others were faring, particularly Momo and Ochako. "Guess it's really none of my business, though."
"Oh Jiro, open wide!" Kaminari teased, holding up a large piece of tuna sashimi in front of her
"Hey!" She protested, before he popped it into her mouth. She chewed, irritation growing to delight. "Mmmm! That's really good!"
"I know, right?!" Kaminari replied with a laugh. "It's crazy how good island food tastes!"
"No kidding." Jiro agreed, stealing a second piece from Kaminari's plate.
"Hey!" He guffawed. Jiro laughed, tossing the tuna into her mouth. He reached over her in an attempt to grab her cup. "Then let me try some of your juice!"
"Hands off!" She laughed, pushing against him with one arm as she held tightly to her juice. "Get your own!"
"No way! This is easier!"
"You dummy!"
"Kaminari!"
The two both turned their heads as Sero suddenly appeared, looking frantic. "We have a party emergency!"
"Party…?" Jiro repeated.
"Emergency?" Kaminari finished, quickly grabbing her cup while she was distracted and chugging it.
"KAMINARI!" Jiro yelled in annoyance.
"Come on dude!" Kaminari said, hurriedly pushing Sero along with him as he ran. "Tell me where to go!" He glanced behind him, where Jiro stood fuming over an empty cup. "She really looks cute when she's mad." He couldn't help thinking with a grin, teasing calling out,"Thanks for the juice, Jiro!"
"To the karaoke machine!" Sero said.
As they neared the wooden dais where the karaoke machine had been set up, Kaminari was surprised to find Midoriya, Bakugo, Tokoyami, and Kirishima also up there. All hunched over the machinery. The blonde stepped up, waving a hand in greeting. "So, what's the 'big party' emergency?"
Kirishima stood up, scratching his head and feeling very much out of place. "Seems like the karaoke machine is acting wacky. It won't even turn on."
"Really?" Kaminari replied, shocked. "But it was working earlier!"
"Yes, quite the mystery, isn't it?" Aoyama commented, standing to the side and watching the boys work with great amusement. "Thank you all so much for helping out! Sorry to be a bother!" He added, giving a sparkling wink.
"It's not like we had a choice." Bakugo grumbled, looking ready to murder the device.
"We're glad to help." Midoriya courteously replied, bending over to carefully examine the old machine. "But to tell the truth, I'm not quite sure how much we can really do to get it working. This tech is pretty outdated."
"THEN LET'S JUST BLOW IT UP AND BE DONE HERE!" Bakugo angrily suggested.
"Kacchan, we can't do that! It belongs to the inn!"
"This is pointless." Tokoyami murmured from the shadows.
"Maybe if I just give it a small jolt?" Kaminari wondered aloud, giving it a shake.
"I know nothing about tech and even I know that's a bad idea!" Kirishima rebuked.
"Screw this! No one even cares about karaoke!"
Their arguing was attracting the attention of the other party goers. Jiro stood observing their bickering, while enjoying a plate of seafood, when she was joined by Uraraka, Asui, Ashido, Hagakure, Yaoyorozu, and Todoroki, all carrying their own plates of food.
"What's going on?" Todoroki curiously asked.
"I think the karaoke machine is broken." Jiro explained, "Not sure why Sero thought these knuckleheads would be able to fix it though."
"It is an odd combination up there."Asui agreed, watching as Bakugo attempted to stomp on the machine while Kirishima and Kaminari both grabbed his arms to hold him back.
On que, Sero came up on to the dais, bringing a microphone up and smiling at the crowd. "Gather around Class 1-A cause we have a special treat for you tonight!" The rest of the class hurried over, including Aizawa Sensei and an ecstatic Midnight.
"Sero! What are you doing?!" Midoriya loudly whispered, coming up from behind him. "We still don't have this machine working."
"Oh, don't worry about that!" Sero replied, winking.
"OHHHHHH BOOOYYYYSSS!" Aoyama called, waving his hand merrily at the five boys on the dais. "I have a question for you! How many heroes' does it take to fix a karaoke machine?" He pushed aside a little Shisa statue, revealing an outdoor power outlet and the karaoke machine's plug disconnected from it. "JUST OOOOOOOONE!" He declared, plugging it in.
"THE HELL!?" Bakugo's outburst was almost instantly blocked out by static playback from the microphone blaring from the newly revived machine. The group of boys fell over on top of themselves, covering their ears.
Sero calmly took out a remote control, turning it off and continuing, "Now that we are all present and our machinery is running, it's time to get this party underway with a special presentation!"
"Another surprise?" Uraraka questioned aloud.
"This is new to us." Ojiro remarked, as Shoji, Sato, and Koda nodded with interest.
"As we all know," Sero continued in a showman-like fashion. "No party is complete without dinner and a show. So as one last thank-you gift to the girls of 1-A, these guys here are going to do a live performance for you tonight!"
Author's Note: Shikuwasa is a citrus fruit grown on the island of Okinawa. It's extremely rare to find these fruits sold outside of Okinawa and Taiwan so it's a must try if you every visit the island! Despite it's lime like appearance it is part of the mandarin orange family. It can be eaten both ripened and unripeded and all the parts are edible. The flavor is a unique mix of sour and sweet.
