Chapter 2
What It Takes To Be A Hero
Two girls were playing hopscotch on the sidewalk. One of the girls threw the rock a little too far when Dash jumped over her, caught the rock, threw it back to her.
Dash: Here you go! Bye!
She continued running to get to the villain before anyone got hurt but she sees she's not going fast enough.
Dash: Ugh I'm not going fast enough, that villain must be rampaging now.
She was thinking until she got an idea. She stopped and activated her quirk for the blue screen to pop up. She looks at a morpher she called the Rev Morpher before sticking her hand out and it appears on her wrist and some kind of chip she calls the Cell Chip.
She puts the Cell Chip into the Rev Morpher.
Dash: Rpm!
She flicks the leaver on the morpher.
Dash: Get in gear!
She then raced down the street going through panels that contained her suit. She then appeared wearing a car like orange suit with golden wheels on her wrist and ankles, seatbelts kept on her utility belt, and a big '6' in the middle of her chest.
Dash: Rpm Orange Ranger!
People were then looking at her weird it out.
Dash: Sorry I do that when I finish my morph.
She then gets into a crouching starting position before racing off.
Market Place
In the market everyone was looking at artifacts, buying food or items, or just taking a walk through it. In an alleyway the villain was waking up from his fall.
Goop Villain: Where am I? What happened?
Flashback
All Might was doing his Texas Smash on him.
Goop Villain: Oh yeah. That bastard!
The villain exploded, setting Midoriya and Dash free.
Flashback Ends
Goop Villain: If it wasn't for him I'll be out of town already.
BF1: Weren't you, Midoriya, and Dash good friends back when you were kids.
BF2: Yeah you were a little harsh to them today.
Bakugo: It is their own fault for getting in my way.
He kicked the bottle the villain was in and the cap came loose setting the villain free.
BF1: You shouldn't waste your time on them.
Bakugo looks at the ground having a memory when he was going to hurt Midoriya and Dash.
Flashback Again
Midoriya: I wanted to be a hero since I was a little kid. I may not have Quirk but I can try my hardest can I.
Dash: Y-yeah and I just wanted to stick up for the little guy. Protect people who can't protect themselves, heh heh.
Flashback Ends Again
Bakugo: Someone got to teach those worthless nerds how the world really works.
He then started to crush the can he was holding before incinerating it.
Bakugo: I hate it when they talk about heroes and when Dash tries to defend herself.
His friends started to chuckle.
BF2: Hey I got an idea we should go to the arcade. Get your mind off it, ok?
Bakugo was thinking about it but he agreed.
The villain was starting to creep onto them but they didn't notice.
BF1: Or we can sneak into the bar in the station. Pick up some ladies.
BF2: Now that is a good idea.
Bakugo: Idiots! If we get caught there's no way UA would let me in.
His friends then catch something behind Bakugo.
Both: Hey, what's that.
Bakugo turns around to see the villain forming behind him.
Goop Villain: Perfect! I like a skin suit with some fire.
With Izuku
Back when he was being flown through the air with All Might they settled on a roof when All Might reverted back to his original form, Izuku was freaking out, and the author was definitely not lazy when he skipped this part.
Izuku was looking at the scrawny All Might.
Izuku: What happened you deflated!
He then started looking for All Might.
Izuku: Ah! Where All Might go?
He then faced the deflated All Might.
Izuku: You! You're not him! You're a fake! An imposter!
All Might: I assure you that I am All Mig-
Before he can finish blood started coming out of his mouth making Izuku scream "impossible"
All Might: You know how guys at the pool are always flexing in and trying to look buff? I'm like that.
Izuku: This can't be real!
He was so surprised that he was shaking.
Izuku: No I'm dreaming. All Might is a giant of a man who saves everyone. He defeats all obstacles and wins the day with a fearless smile.
Izuku's voice was kinda shaky when he said this and All Might just sighs.
All Might: There's plenty of fear behind that smile.
He then sits down with his back on the rail.
All Might: I'm counting on you to keep your mouth shut. Don't go talking about this or telling your friends.
Izuku: Huh…?
He cringes when All Might pulls up his shirt to reveal a gross looking mark covering a big chunk of his stomach and chess.
All Might: Pretty gross right? I got this in a big fight five years back. My respiratory system was basically destroyed. I lost my whole stomach. All the surgeries pretty much worn me out and it can't be fixed.
All Might: Right now I can only do hero work for about three hours a day. Rest of the time this is what I look like.
Izuku gasped.
Izuku: No way… five years ago? So does that mean it was the fight with Toxic Chainsaw?
He pulls his shirt down.
All Might: Wow you really know your stuff but no the punk man landed some hits but, he couldn't bring me down.
There was then a shot on the building they were in.
All Might: Most of the world never heard of this fight. I did everything I could to keep it under wraps.
All Might: I'm supposed to be the guy who's always smiling right? I'm the symbol of peace. People everywhere have to think I'm never afraid.
He held out his hand before clenching it.
All Might: But honestly I smile to hide the fear inside. It's just a brave face I put on when the pressure is high. This job isn't easy.
Izuku gasped as he just said. His own hero, his idol can be afraid.
All Might: Pro heroes are always having to risk their lives. Some villains can be beaten without power. So can you be a hero? Not without a quirk.
This made Izuku freeze with his mouth open and surprised on what he just said. He looks down at the grown sadded.
Izuku: I see…
All Might: If you wanna help people, there's plenty of ways to do it. You can become a police officer. They get crap because the hero's capture the villains. But it's a fine profession.
All Might then walks to the roof's exit.
All Might: It's not bad to have a dream young man. Just, make sure your dreams are attainable. Realistic understanding?
All Might then leaves Izuku on the roof.
All Might: Now let's get you to the station.
He pats his pocket to find out the villain wasn't there. He looks around to hear a noise across town.
All Might: Not good…
Izuku was still on the roof still upset about what All Might told him until he heard the exact noise All Might heard and a cloud of smoke came up.
Izuku: A villain! I wonder what hero will show and I better call Dash to tell her.
He then ran to the door and brought out his phone to call Dash before stopping remembering what All Might told him. He sighs before putting his phone back and walking to the door.
The scan then shifts to All Might running to get to the problem before someone rushed past him like a speeding car. He was confused to see an orange blue but he thought against it and continued forward.
Shopping District
People were screwed and running as windows were being shattered and the fire was spreading. Other heros came to stop the villain to see the same villain All Might stopped. They see that Bakugo was stuck in his grasp.
Death Arms: It's taken someone hostage!
He slammed his fist together and charged at him.
Death Arms: How dare you pray for a child?!
He jumped up and punched the villain in the middle and the villain grunted. He started sucking Death Arms arm into him.
Death Arms: What the hell is this?! Some kind of goo.
The goop villain then rams him into a wall.
The other heros ran up to him to see if he was ok until the baseball hero spotted something.
Baseball Hero: Heads up!
The both dodge an attack from the villain.
Goop Villain: Ha! Stay back or I'll snap his neck!
He then noticed Bakugou getting himself free and taking a breath screaming.
Bakugo: You pick the wrong guy to mess with. I'm gonna send you back to the sewer you crawled out of!
He tried to send up some explosions to free himself.
Bakugo: Let me go!
He then made a huge explosion catching the eye of Dash who is still far away.
Dash: I gotta go faster!
She starts to gain more speed.
Back with Bakugo he was still struggling to get free.
Goop Villain: I really hit the jackpot with a quirk like yours under my control, I can take All Might down in one punch.
He then spread some goop tentacles into the air.
Male Onlooker 1: Whoa is that some kind of special move? This dude is a legit super villain.
Female Onlooker: It's her! The new hero Mt. Lady will stop this.
Mt. Lady was rushing to the fight until she gasped and stopped.
Mt. Lady: My only weakness!
She was trying to fit between the buildings but couldn't since the road was a one lane.
Mt. Lady: I'm gonna need at least a two lane road if gonna make my way through here.
Bakugo friends were still stuck in the fire before being grabbed by Kumai Woods.
Kumai: Fire and wood doesn't make a good combination. I'll let someone else stop this guy.
Dash then comes rushing under her legs.
Dash: 'Scuse me Mrs. Lady.
Dash then comes to the crowd and starts trying to get to the front.
Dash: Pardon me, Excuse me, Move please.
Backdraft was seen trying to put out the fire.
Backdraft: I've got my hand full here. Where are those fire trucks? Can you guys get to him?
Death Arms: Can't get a grip on his weird body. Plus, the kids quirk is causing explosions everywhere.
Baseball Hero: This is a shutout we gotta rally and knock him out the park somehow.
The villain has it over Bakugo's mouth causing him to start to lose air. Dash caught a glimpse of him through her visor.
Dash: K-Kacchan?
The villain sent a sludge punch at the heros but they dodged out of the way.
Death Arms: It's no good! None of us have the right quirk to stop a villain like this!
Bird Hero: We'll do damage control until someone with the right power shows up.
Backdraft: There's still plenty of other people to save.
Kaumi Woods: Don't worry, I bet every hero in the city is coming.
Dash was clutching her chest when she heard a scream from a building. She looked towards it to see a little boy stuck in a building on the 2nd floor.
Dash: There's a little boy stuck in that building!
The heroes couldn't hear her so she decided to take things into her own hands. She jumped the barrier and zip to the building where the boy was. She hopped through the window and started looking for him.
Dash: Little boy! Yell if you can hear me!
Little Boy: I'm in here, help me!
She rushed to where she heard his scream. She ran into a locked room where she heard crying.
Dash: Are you in there!
Little Boy: Yes, please get me out of here!
She then tried to push the rubble away but couldn't get it to budge before getting an idea.
Dash: Step away from the door.
Little Boy: Ok.
She then pulls out a weapon she calls the Nitro Blaster and blasts rubble down. She puts it back in the shaft and enters the room, she spots the boy in a corner and runs over.
Dash: Are you ok?
The boy nods his head and Dash picks him up and runs out of the door.
Back in the battle the heroes were still trying to evacuate everyone.
Death Arms Thoughts: Hand on kid you just have to hand on just a little bit longer.
Death Arms: Damn! If I only have more power I can blow this guy away.
All Might finally got to the crime and was panting. He then looks between everyone to the villain's rampage.
All Might Thought: Must have dropped him in the air. I was distracted and worried about my time limit. I can't believe I made a rookie mistake, after lecturing that kid about what it takes to be a hero.
He clutches his chess.
All Might: I'm pathetic.
With Midoriya
Midoriya was walking on the sidewalk reading his notebook. He was thinking of what everyone said on how he wanted to be a hero and only got negative comments.
Izuku:[Sad] Even All Might said it. A hero needs a quirk.
He starts to sniffle a little.
Izuku: Don't cry dammit. Deep down you knew this all along. You just avoided reality, that's why you were trying so desperately to prove yourself wrong.
There then was a grumble and Izuku looked for where it came from and saw smoke coming from it.
Izuku: That's strange because the fight from earlier is still going on. Why am I here? Did I subconsciously walk this way to check it out?
The crosswalk then turned green and he walked across the street to the crowd.
Izuku: I shouldn't even stop, all my notes are useless.
He then saw the villain that attacked him and Dash from before.
Izuku: That's the guy that attacked me and Dash! That can't be right, All Might captured him.
He then has a flash where he sees where All Might had and didn't have him.
Izuku: The bottle… if he dropped it… that means… it's my fault.
Male Onlooker: Why aren't the heroes doing anything?
Male Onlooker: It looks like they met their match. Plus the villain captured a kid.
This catches Izuku attention.
Male Onlooker: Things aren't looking good for him.
Izuku: He caught someone. I wonder how long they've been in there? How can they survive being suffocated like that.
He thinks of how he and Dash are suffocating from the villain.
Izuku: He even made Dash lose her voice.
Then there's someone who says they saw All Might chase the villain which made Izuku panic. All Might then catch them talking to call him.
All Might groans and Izuku whimpers.
Izuku: I'm the one to blame. He wasted his energy on me.
All Might was clutching his chest calling himself worthless.
Izuku: He can't power up yet and none of the other heros have the quirks to stop him.
All Might: I'm pathetic…
Izuku: I'm sorry so sorry.
All Might: a disgrace…
Izuku: Help will arrive shortly I'm sure.
All Might: I'm not a real hero.
Izuku: Someone… a real hero will arrive soon.
Bakugo was trying to get some air but only got a little squeak before Izuku dropped his notebook and ran to help surprising All Might and the pro heroes.
Death Farms: No you idiot you going to get yourself killed!
Izuku then passes Dash getting the kid out but he didn't notice them but Dash did see him.
Dash: Go back to everyone else ok.
The boy nods and runs back and Dash zips to Izuku.
Dash: Midoriya what are you doing!
Midoriya: Dash?! I don't know what I'm doing!
The villain and Bakugo sees Izuku and Dash running up to them.
Goop Villain: Not these brats again.
Kacchan: Deku, Dash.
Izuku: What am I doing? Why am I running? Why can't I stop?
Dash: I have no clue!
The villain then rushed to them.
Goop villain: Your toast kids!
Izuku: What will a hero do right now?
Izuku then pictures his notebook on page 25.
Izuku: Right page 25!
Izuku: Dash you remember the thing I wrote on page 25 right!
Dash: Are you crazy?!
Izuku: Yes! Please do it!
She looks at him and spins the wheels on her ankles.
Dash: Token Drift!
She makes a huge drift that send a electric blast towards him and Deku throws his backpack sending it into the villains face and having Bakugo to breath.
Izuku and Dash: Kacchan!
Izuku tries Clawing a the goop to get him out while Dash's wheels spinned on her wrist and grinded at it.
Kacchan: What the hell! Why are you two here!
Izuku: I don't know… my legs… they just started moving!
Dash: I was just trying to save a kid! I saw Izuku running and now I'm here!
The goop started going over Kacchan's mouth again and Izuku and Dash tried to get it off.
Izuku: We don't know why we did what we did.
Dash: But we know we did it with the goodness out of our hearts.
They then had flashbacks of what events that led to there.
Izuku: Maybe it was the look on his face.
Izuku: Kacchan I couldn't just stand there and watch you die.
Dash: We could just let you die like this.
This triggered something into All Might.
Kacchan: Get the hell out of me!
All Might: I have to do something no matter the cause!
All Might then when into his stronger form.
Goop Villain: Just a bit longer kid and I'm done playing with you two!
The heroes then tried to run to save them.
Death Arms: SaK99 ve
the boy and girl this thing will kill them.
The villains arm tentacle came down onto them and they cower down, Dash pulling out her Nitro Blaster to shoot it but they didn't feel the impact.
All Might: I'm really pathetic.
They both saw All Might caught the arm.
Izuku: All Might, but...
All Might: I told you the traits that make a great champion, but I see now I wasn't living up to my own ideal.
He breaks through the slime that was going to hit them and Izuku and Dash stare in astonishment.
All Might then grabs onto the slime.
All Might: Pros are always risking our lives! That's a true test of a hero!
Goop Villain: Damn you All Might!
The goop villain raised a tenticicule but it was too late.
All Night: Detroit Smash!
He hits the villain which blew the right of Kacchan and a very powerful wind where it was blowing everything and everyone.
All Might was panting while everyone else was starstruck. It then started to rain.
"Huh"
"Its raining"
"Don't tell me that rain was all from"
Death Arms: Holy crap. He changed the weather.
"Did that just happen?"
Everyone started cheering for him.
"All Might saved the day again he's amazing!"
All Might almost tips a little bit but he puts his fist up which makes the crowd cheer louder. He then looks at the now fainted Izuku and (demorped) Dash.
Izuku: After that the heroes gather all the scattered mounds of sludge and the villain goes into police custody where he belonged.
It was seen the heroes cleaned up all the sludge and handed to the police. While All Might was getting called by the media.
Izuku and Dash on the other hand were being scolded by the other heros.
Kumai: You morons. Don't you have a death wish?
Death Arms: There was absolutely no reason to put yourselves in danger like that!
Mt. Lady then bent down and held Dash's chin.
Mt. Lady: You've wouldn't gotten yourself hurt cutey.
Dash then started to blush and had swirls in her eyes
Dash: Cutey…
Izuku: We got chewed out by the heroes big time.
Dash: They just gave us a slap on the wrist, [Mumbled] Mt. Lady actually doing that to me, and we were free to go.
Izuku: While Kacchan was praised for his bravery.
Bird Hero: Man your tough kid! And that quirk is something else. If you want to go pro head over to my agency first! I love for you to be my sidekick while you're training!
Kacchan just ignored him and sent a death glare towards Midoriya and Nashito.
A Few Hours Later
Everyone was watching the news to see how heroic All was. While Izuku and Dash walked home together.
Izuku: I wanted to apologize to All Might but he was swarmed by interviewers I didn't want to interrupt.
Dash: You can't try to send a message through his website.
Izuku gave a small smile to him.
Izuku: Yeah your right.
Kacchan: Deku, Dash!
Izuku: Kacchan?
They turned around to see Kacchan running up to them.
Kacchan: Listen! I will never ask a weakling like you to help me.
Dash head: Here he goes again. Even though we tried to save him he just thought we were just a pair of weaklings.
Kacchan: Don't think you can look down on me. Huh? Got that! You're just a quirkless failure and you can't do anything with your dumbass quirk. You didn't help me and don't forget it.
Bakugo then twirls around telling them he doesn't owe them anything. They both swear dropped and looked at each other.
Izuku: What was that?
Dash: Him being the jerk that he is.
Izuku then put a small smile on his face.
Izuku: Kacchan is right though it is not like I did anything to help today.
Dash: Hey, I may have saved a kid from a burning building and actually got to use my Nitro Blaster, but you actually ran head on to a villain.
Izuku: Guess now I should get back to giving up my dreams.
Dash: What…
All Might then appeared out of the corner, scaring Midoriya and Nashito.
Izuku: All Might where you come from?
Dash: And why are you here?
Izuku: How'd you get rid of all those reporters.
Dash: By my calculations there is nothing because I don't like doing math but you should be held by them for another hour or two.
He then started laughing with the American flag behind him.
All Might: I stand for justice not soundbites! Because I am All Mig-
Before he can finish he poofs right back to normal, spitting out blood, making Izuku and Dash panic.
All Might:[Cough] Young man I've come here to thank you. And also to discuss your question from earlier.
Izuku: Huh?
All Might: If you hadn't told me about your life. If you hadn't ran into that fight… I would have been a worthless bystander watching from the crowd. So thanks.
Izuku: Oh no. It was my fault he was there to begin with. I got in the way of your hard work. I wasted your energy not mentioning your time.
Dash was behind the two just flastergasted.
All Might: I'm not done. You told me you didn't have power. So when I saw this timid, quirkless boy try to save a life. It inspired me to act, even your own friend came to help.
Izuku looks behind to see the still same flabbergasted Dash.
Izuku: Dash you ok?
Dash shook her head rapidly.
Dash: Yeah I'm fine.
Izuku smiles and looks back at All Might.
All Might: There are stories about every hero. How they become great. Most have one thing in common.
Flashback towards when Izuku started running to save Bakugo and Dash joined him.
All Might: Their bodies moved almost on their own.
Izuku's eyes glistened before he started crying and Dash came to comfort him.
Izuku: For some reason I remember my mother's words in that moment.
All Might: And today that happened to you.
He started sobbing and getting on his knees.
Dash: Izuku!
Izuku: You never told me, Mom. Back then… the thing I wanted you to say… the words I needed to hear.
The wind started blowing onto All Mights hair.
All Might: Young man you too can become a hero.
Izuku continued to sob Dash, bending down and hugging him.
Izuku: Dream can become a reality. Oh by the way, I forgot to mention that this is how I became the world's greatest hero.
Dash: And me the second greatest hero of all time by the way.
Izuku:[Chuckles] Shut up Dash.
The End
Speed: Man do I love creating this series even though it takes forever to right parts Dash in.
Lizzy: You'll find a way.
She Pat's me on the back.
Speed: Ok I'm fine, next on My Power Ranger things are gonna turn up to the next level in…
