The rest of the day, the kids in the Hermes Cabin joked and laughed around, and when the Conch Horn blew, the entire cabin lined up marched to the dining pavilion. We squeezed into the table. I was lucky enough to get a seat in the middle like I always do, Ethan next to me. The Wood Nymphs came and put glasses and food on the table. I stared at my cup. "Water." I said and my cup filled with the clear liquid. Everybody was talking and chatting until Chiron pounded his hoof against the marble floor of the pavilion, and everybody fell quiet. Chiron raised a glass.

"TO THE GODS!" He shouted.

"TO THE GODS!" We all repeated, raising our own glasses. After a second, it was our turn to give our offering to the gods. I picked up my grapes.

"To Mother." I muttered, "Just hurry up and claim Ethan…" I threw my grapes into the fire. I sat down back on the table and started to eat. When everybody had finished eating their meals, Chiron pounded his hoof again for our attention. Mr D stood with a huge sigh.

"Yes, I suppose I'd better say hello to all you brats." He muttered, "Well, hello. Our activities director, Chiron, says the next capture the flag is Friday. Cabin Five presently holds the laurels." The Ares cabin got up and cheered. "Personally, I couldn't care less, but congratulations. Also, I should tell you that we have a new camper today. Peter Johnson." Chiron whispered something in Mr D's ear. "Er, Percy Jackson." He corrected. "That's right. Hurrah, and all that. Now run along to your silly campfire. Go on." We all filed down to the Amphitheater, where Apollo's cabin led a sing-along. After all the songs, the Conch Horn sounded again and everybody moved to their cabins. I took my pj's and walked into the bathroom. First-person in. Nice. I took a quick shower and got changed into my pj's. I stepped out and people rushed to get in. I set up my bed and slipped in, pulling the covers to my chin.

"Night Mako." Ethan said, popping his head up beside my bead.

"Goodnight Ethan." I muttered as I fell asleep.
