Chapter 8

Bakugo Start Line

Back at the building Dash sat on her knees breathing heavily. Having won the fight between Bakugo she leaned against the wall trying to support herself.

Dash: God everything hurts…

In the Monitor room everyone looked onto the screen seeing both Dash and Uruarka on their knees. Uruarka throws up, having used her power too much.

Kaminari: What a weird way for this to end. The losers are practically untouched while the winners are all on the floor.

Tokoyami: How does the old saying go? They may have lost the battle, but they've won the war.

Kirishima rubbed the back of his head.

Kirishima: This class is seriously intense.

At the building, medical robots bring Midoriya to the nurses office as All-Might observes. Dash slowly gets up from the ground, holding her arm. Tsu comes out from the top floor and lands beside her.

Tsu: Here, let me help.

She brought her by her arm, but hit a spot which was sprained making her yelp in pain.

Dash: Broken arm! Broken arm!

Tsu: Sorry!

Dash: I'm fine… it'll heal eventually.

Tsu: Well you did great out there even though I didn't really see you.

Dash smiles at the frog quirk girl.

Dash: Thanks Asui.

Tsu nudged her a little in her good arm.

Tsu: I told you to call me Tsu!

Dash chuckled before she then felt a huge glare on her. She looked over to see Bakugo's glare onto her. She stared back onto him, them both not speaking a word towards each other.

Replying in Kacchan's mind were the words that Midoriya and Nashito said to him. It replayed over and over again.

Kacchan: How the hell… did they figure out my attack. Deku being able to predict my attack… while Dash came out with all her dumb shit!

The words. The words that came out their mouths kept on going. He clenched his fist see how Dash looked at him. His breaths become hard and frequent.

Kacchan: If it was for real… if they both didn't hold back… would the mean Deku and Dash would beat me!

A hand was then placed on his shoulder. All-Might behind him tried to calm his nerves as he kept glaring.

All-Might: Young Bakugo. Cool your jets. Let's go review your work.

He then pointed to Dash and Tsu.

All-Might: That goes for you two also. Whether you win or lose you could always take from experience like this. As long as you are open to learning

Dash/Tsu: Yes sir!

Tsu ran ahead as Dash slowly walked. As they both pass in slow motion they both narrow their eyes at each other before looking away.

At the monitoring room, the screen showed the results of the students. Dash now had arm in a slink as the All-Might came back with the results.

All-Might: Despite the results, the MVP of this exercise is young Iida and Asui!

Everyone gasped. Thinking that one of the heroes was going to gain the title.

Tsu: Shouldn't it be one of the heros since they're the winners?

All-Might: Mm! Valid question.Why didn't I choose one of those two? Who has a guess?

Raising her hand was Momo Yaoyorozu.

Momo: Sir! I can tell you why! Iida and Tsuyu embraced this challenge. They were the only two who truly adapted to his assigned role. I'll explain. Bakugo's judgment was clouded by a personal grudge against Midoriya. As you pointed out earlier, launching a large‐scale attack indoors was a foolish move. It could have been disastrous.

Bakugo didn't lift his head up to her as kept talking.

Momo: Similarly, Midoriya's plan was also poorly thought out, considering the amount of damage that he received. He rendered himself helpless. Not smart.

Momo: As for Uraraka… She let her guard down mid‐battle, and her final attack was far too reckless given the hypothetical stakes. If she'd treated the fake weapon as though it were real, she never would've risked using such an imprecise move.

Uruarka just then looked down sickly. Momo then looked at Dash.

Momo: And Nashito, using highly destructive weapons indoors could've caused massive damage. And when firing under the blast Midoriya had created you did incapacitate the villains, but you also made even more damage to the building. Having more shots be spread around.

Dash looks down in shame.

Dash: She's so right…

Momo: Iida and Asui were fully prepared

for his opponent's arrival. They had a strategy, and never lost sight of his mission to protect the dummy weapon, even if he was

foiled in the end. Technically, the hero team won, yes, but they took advantage of the fact that this was training. They didn't respect the spirit of the trial.

Everyone looked at her in shock. She just went on an in depth analysis. She really did have a keen eye on her.

All-Might: Well… uh… Young Iida could've relaxed a bit during the exercise, but otherwise you nailed it.

Momo: One should always

start with the basics and devote themselves wholeheartedly to learning. That's the only real way to become a top hero.

Momo Yoayorzu

Quirk: Creation

One of the students admitted to the hero course based on recommendations.

All-Might: Now then. Time to blow this joint. Let's move on to the next battle.

All-Might went to pick out from the ballets as the two teams moved into the other students. Others congratulate them for the win and others congratulate Iida and Tsu for the MVP.

Kirishima: You guys were awesome out there!

Mina: I liked that cool transformation. The way you used your guns and lasers and fireballs came between you and Bakugo. It was so amazing!

Dash rubbed the back of her head with her good arm.

Dash: It was nothing. I would've been better if I had something to counter off his high explosives, but he was coming at me so fast that I had to do it quickly.

Iida: Well whatever it is you three did outstanding.

He held out his hand as both Ururaka and Dash took it.

Dash: Thanks Iida! You did amazing too. I heard you also have a good villain impression.

Iida chuckled as he put on his villain persona.

Iida: The act of villainy runs through my blood! You pathetic hero may have won, but it was I IIDA who had truly won the battle!

Dash tried to keep herself from laughing, but she couldn't help, but let out a laugh as the others laughed with her. In the background Bakugo stood glaring down at the ground.

Back at the battle building, new teams were being issued. Team I with Ojiro and Hagakure. While Team B consists of Todoroki and Shoji.

The buzzer went off starting the match. Shoji spreads his arms making ears around his body.

Name: Mezo Shoji

Quirk: Dipli-Arms

He can replicate different body parts on the tips of his tentacles. Now that is super strange!

Todoroki walks into the building as Shoji creates a mouth.

Shoji: Ones in the hall on the north side of the fourth floor. And I think the other one is on the same floor. Both are bare foot.

Another mouth leans at Shoto.

Shoji: I think the invisible one will try to jump out and surprise us.

Shoto walked in front and lifted his right hand with a cold mist radiating off his hand.

Shoto: For your safety, I suggest you go outside. I'm sure our opponents intend to fight a defensive battle.

He touched onto a wall making it freeze over and spread around the building. He also used his foot to freeze the floor. It kept on appearing until it covered the whole building.

Shoto: But we already won.

Shoji went outside the building seeing that Shoto frosted the building to the top. Inside the villain team had their feet stuck to the floor. Not being able to move due to the ice stuck on their bare feet.

Hagakure: Ow, ow, ow! My feet are stuck!

Ojiro: This quirk is insane!

They both heard footsteps coming down a hall. The ice crumbled around in every step they took. Coming in through the doorway was Shoto with an unamused look. Ojiro got into a defensive stance, but being stuck to the floor he was completely defenseless.

Shoto: Pry, yourself if you want, but it might be hard to fight me without skin on your feet.

Shoto walked past the subdued villains who are not able to do anything.

Back in the Monitoring Room, everyone was freezing due to Shoto's quirk. They were all shivering and huddled up to keep warm.

Dash: This guy's quirk is so powerful! He may even be stronger than Samurai. That's kinda frightening in a way.

All-Might: He composed the weapon without compromising the weapon or his teammates. Take close not at this, students.

In the back Katsuki looked on seeing someone else get to the bomb in under a minute. This boiled his blood to its core. Maybe that's why he wasn't really feeling cold.

Shoto took his other hand and was able to melt all the ice away from the walls.

All-Might: The hero team… WIIIINNNSSS!!!

Ojiro looked onto Todoroki as water droplets dropped onto the floor.

Todoroki: It's not your fault. We're just playing on different levels.

Name: Shoto Todoroki

Quirk: Half and Half

Another one of the four able to attend the hero course based on recommendations. He freezes with his right side and leaves people in ashes with his left. The range of his abilities is unknown.

Dash looked onto Shoto's quirk as she was thinking.

Dash: So he can control the heat and the cold. It looks like it's quite powerful, able to freeze and melt the building in the matter of seconds. I wonder if I could do that also with my quirk? Hmm…

Dash: But he's also really intimidating…

Kaminari: I agree to that… he's a whole beast.

All-Might: Moving on! Time to take a review of the second match and after that we'll move on to our next battle.

Everyone: Yes sir!

Everyone then got into their own battle with all them not being as building destroying as the first round. Dash kept mental notes on everyone and how they work as a team. She even got to evaluate some of their pros and cons in combat.

She got to meet other people like Jiro, Kaminari, Momo, Ojiro, and everyone else. Thinking they were all great people to hang around with… except Mineta. She has some qualms with him, but thought he was an ok person. Just ok and nothing else beyond that.

After a few more fights they were all done with the battles.

All-Might: That's a rap! Super work! You really stepped up to the plate. And we didn't have any major injuries except for Midoriya. You should be proud! Excellent first day of training all around!

He gave everyone a thumbs up.

Tsu: It's nice to hear some encouraging words after our homeroom class.

Dash: Yeah, I'm used to having my hopes and dreams being crushed.

Tsu: Mr. Aizawa was kinda a buzz kill.

Everyone nodded in agreement. All-Might extends his arms in admirision.

All-Might: I'm happy to bring staggry positivity to my alma mater! Now that's all folks! Now watch how a pro exits like he has somewhere to be!

He rushes down the tunnel blowing wind into everyone's face. Dash never flinched being so used to it by now at this point.

Dash: I think a bug flew into my face. Again.

As everyone else was walking away she saw smoke coming off of him as All-Might as he quickly went into the exit.

Dash: He must've ran out of time. I don't know how he could teach a whole class like that.

Tsu: Dash! You coming, ribbit?

Dash: Coming!

All of 1-A then got dressed back into their school uniforms and continued onto their regular school day.

Now in the afternoon, they were all done with school and back at their homeroom class. Dash was sitting at her desk with a few others just chatting along.

Mina: A boom! A melted the door to liquid and Aayoma fires his lazer giving me a clear path to victory!

Aoyama: It was dazzling to say the least.

Kirishima leaded up on the table with a smile.

Kirishima: One day we're coming back for a rematch.

Sero: Oh yeah! We're totally gonna get stronger to beat you both.

Everyone laughs in their joyful banter. Dash had a hand over her mouth when then Shoji brought something up.

Shoji: Hey, Dash. Question? What's your family like, your Mom and Dad.

Aayoma: Yes, I'm quite curious also.

Dash smile soon fell bring down the mood to the group.

Dash: Well Mom is doctor. She usually is gone for the weekdays working. My Dad... he's gone.

A frown grown on the groups face. Shoji facepalms himself for having to remind her about that.

Shoji: I'm terribly sorry, it was stupid of me to bring it up.

Dash waved it off, trying to tell it fine.

Dash: Don't worry about it, it doesn't really affect me much, but...

A deep memory that she never wants to reconcile flashed into her head.

In the memory was flames burning hot as someone was crying. A young looking hand slowly perked up from the side seeing that the memory was in someone's point of view.

Pouring from the dark floor was blood pouring down as an ear piercing scream was emitted from the darkness.

A loud cry for help was emitting as a burly voice was screaming towards the person. The person could only cry in agony as it kept on screaming to them. It was inaudible and weak, but there was one thing that could be heard before it went black.

???: Dash… Leave…GO!!!

Dash was silent for a little as her she sighed.

Momo: Dash, are you doing all right?

She didn't answer immediately as Momo looked down at her. She looked around seeing that most of the group were looking at her with worry in their eyes. She slowly gains her composure.

Dash: Yeah… I'm fine. It's just some memory that won't go away anytime soon, but I'll be fine.

The room went silent for a little bit before Shoji appeared behind her and used his arms to surround her in a hug.

Shoji: It'll all be ok. I... lost people too

Kirishima pats Dash on the shoulder giving a toothy grin.

Kirishima: I bet he'll be proud that your becoming a hero. Don't let that get you down.

Dash: Ok... yeah your right.

Shoji let her go and everyone else reassured her. After a few moments she was back to her regular self, talking like nothing else had happened. Talking to the group and they'd all love her energy.

That's when the door slowly opened up as Midoriya walked in with a cast on his arm. Like The Flash himself, Dash hugged Midoriya like it was the end of the world.

Dash: Oh Izuku! I was so worried!

She then started to go around his body seeing all the bruises and broken bones left on him.

Dash: Look at you! You're badly hurt and everything!

Midoriya tried to calm the worried Dash down as she checked his broken arm.

Midoriya: Dash, I'm fine! There's nothing to worry about!

Dash: Nothing to worry about?! Your arm took a hit from a blast from Kacchan! How is that something to calm down about?!

As Dash rambled they both were approached by the rest of the class.

Kirishima: Hey, Dash! Calm down, he's already banged up enough don't want to make it worse.

Dash huffed her cheeks and crossed her arm.

Dash: Sorry for being a worried for a friend.

Kirishima ignored the puffy ranger and talked toward Izuku.

Kirishima: Man, I don't know what you were saying during that match, but you were all fired up, huh?

Sero: I can't believe you held your own against Bakugo. He's super strong!

Dash: Hey! He wasn't the only one who fought Bakugo!

Sero chuckled seeing the huffy Dash.

Mina: You did a great job dodging!

Sato: You did such a good job in the first round that none of it is held back either.

Aoyama: You were far from elegant, but I suppose—

He was then interrupted by Mina who jumped in front of him.

Mina: And your dodging was like, whoa!

Midoriya was kinda flustered from all the attention he was getting.

Kirishima: Hey, I'm Eijiro Kirishima. We've been going over training results while you were in recovery.

Sero: Hi. I'm Hanta Sero.

Aoyama: More importantly, I'm Yuga Ao—

He was once again interrupted by Mina.

Mina: I'm Mina Ashido! And I got to say your dodging was awesome!

Tsu appeared from behind Mina introducing herself.

Tsu: Tsuyu Asui. But please call me "Tsu".

Sato: Hey, Sato!

Dash: And I'm Dash Nashito, please to meet ya!

Everyone looked at her as she raised an eyebrow.

Dash: What? I want to be included.

Midoriya was again still flustered and being the nervous cinnamon roll he is sweating profusely.

Midoriya: H-Hey guys.

Popping up in front of everyone was Mineta.

Mineta: And my name's Mineta!

In the background of everyone else the three other students, Ojiro, Jiro, and Tokoyami were listening in on the conversation. Tokoyami sighs to himself, sitting on the desk.

Tokoyami: So noisy.

Speed walking towards him was Iida.

Iida: Tokoyami! Stop using that desk as a chair! Get off of it this instant!

Jiro: Dude you need to chill.

Iida was stunned into silence by her retort.

Ojiro: You're carrying a lot of tension.

Iida slums down.

Iida: No one understands… I cannot condone actions that disrespect these desks. Not when great men and women, our upperclassmen, once used them.

Tokoyami: Also noisy.

Everyone looked at Iida from the door. Hearing all the commotion.

Izuku: Iida never relaxes, does he?

Dash: I don't think so. He really needs to learn how to chill out.

Coming from the other door were Kaminari and Uruaka, bringing some books into the class.

Kaminari: So, anyway, wanna grab a bite sometime? Kind of stuff you like?

Uraraka: Anything sweet… Hey, Deku!

After noticing Izuku and my man Kaminari getting ignored. She runs up to Izuku.

Uraraka: Why didn't she heal your injuries?

Izuku: Oh? Well it has to do with how much stamina I'm using.

Uraraka: Stamina?

Dash: Oh yeah. When I went there to heal my arm she gave me some candy to heal me up. Bad thing, if I take too much I die. Good thing, I have a lot of stamina so I'm good. My quirk helped out on the rest of my injuries.

Izuku wasn't really paying attention as he was looking onto Kacchan's desk.

Izuku: Um, guys. Where's Kacchan?

A few moments later Izuku was running through the halls as Dash was following behind him.

Dash: You know I'm still feel soar over the battle we had you know!

Izuku: I have to find him, Dash, before he leaves!

Dash: Why do you suddenly care if he leaves or not?

In Izuku's mind, he hears Kacchan's words from the battle. Mocking him on how he could beat him even with Izuku's new quirk.

Izuku: To tell him the truth.

Dash looks at him confused as she slowly realizes. They both then arrived at the entrance of U.A where they see Bakugo walking down the path towards the exit.

Izuku: Kacchan! Wait up!

Izuku ran up to Kacchan as Dash stood inside the building. All Dash wanted to do was turn around, but seeing Izuku this determined she stayed to watch. To see how this could escalate.

Stopping in his tracks, Kacchan slowly turned his head around. Sending a gruesome glare at Izuku seeing the sheer rage in his eyes.

Kacchan: What?

Izuku stopped suddenly as he trembled in fear. He looked down at the ground not wanting to look at him.

Izuku: I haven't told anyone this secret. Not even my mom.

She gradually gained the courage as he started to speak to Kacchan.

Izuku: I have to tell you something. Maybe then you finally know what's going on.

Izuku: I wasn't hiding my quirk from you. It was given to me by someone else. Recently.

Kacchan grunts in disbelief, Midoriya jumping a little.

Izuku: But I can't tell you who it was, so don't ask. Sounds crazy, I know. It's like something out of a comic book. Only it's real. The thing is I don't have any control over this power yet. I haven't figured out how to make it my own, but I'm trying.

Dash looked on at the building seeing the two talking. She kept silent as she leaned onto the column hearing it.

Izuku: That's why… I didn't wanna use it against you in the exercise. But in the end it was the only thing I had a chance of winning.

Kacchan started to shake in frustration. He breathed hard as his horse became harder.

Izuku: I have a lot to learn. I know that. That's why I'm here.

He puts a hand on his casted arm as he looked up at Kacchan who looked like he was about to explode….hehe.

Izuku: I'll work until I have full control of this borrowed quirk. And I'll finally beat you with my own power.

It was finally silent as they both stood motionless. Kacchan had an expression that looked like he was shocked and angry.

Izuku: I only meant to tell him that I wasn't trying to trick him!

Kacchan: How dumb do you think I am?

He looked up towards Kacchan who now was fully facing him.

Kacchan: "Borrowed Power?" What type of idiot do you think I am? You already made a fool outta me in that damn training exercise. So? Did you come here to rub it in? I lost. And to make matters worse it was too you and that pathetic power loser! I came in first in the exam, but that's not enough.

A flashback to Todoroki freezing over the building and Momo explaining his flaws in his own battle.

Kacchan: Crap, I even agree with what that girl said! My attack was so stupid! Damn it! Damn it, damn it, damn it!

Dash looked onto Kacchan as yelled his heart out. She was speechless seeing Kacchan acting like this.

Kacchan: Enjoy the win, Deku. You won't get another! I'm just getting started! Got that?!

She then pointed at Dash who was still hiding beside the column.

Kacchan: And don't forget you Power Loser! You ain't getting another win from me, you hear! Any form you take on I'll just break em down.

Dash slowly came out her hiding spot as Kacchan now glared at both of them. How did he even know she was there?

Kacchan: I'm gonna end up the number-one hero, no matter what!

Both Dash and Izuku both looked at him, now determined. Kacchan then turned around and started walking away.

Kacchan: You'll never beat me again, you basterds. Don't even try.

Dash looked at the departing Kacchan, as she slowly smired.

Dash: Even with his assholish personality. He still always has the same determination.

As she sighed to herself like a hard wind she was blown back where she ended up sliding face first into Izuku's foot.

All-Might: There you are! Bakugo! I found you!

All-Might held onto the young pomeranian shoulders in the most All-Might way possible.

All-Might took deep breaths, having run all around the school to find Bakugo before he left.

All-Might: Just so you know, pride is an important attribute to have. But while you certainly have the abilities to become a pro hero, there's still plenty you have to learn.

Kacchan: Let go of me, All-Might. Right now.

All-Might looked down upon Kacchan who was now glaring at him.

Kacchan: Save your speeches. I'm gonna be more famous than you and I'll do it without your help.

He nervously lets go of Bakugo and the young explosion maker starts walking away.

All-Might: Uh… Right. I guess he's already over it. Man teaching is hard.

Some of 1A was eavesdropping on the four. Not being able to hear of what they were saying from before.

Mina: Huh, I wonder what that was all about.

Uraraka: The fates battle between rivals.

Asui: Whatever Midoriya was saying it looked like Bakugo was ready to punch them. It also looked like Dash also had something to do with him.

Uraraka planted her forehead talking like an end of screen narrator.

Ururaka: Childhood friends turned enemies!

All-Might and Midoriya looked on at the departing Bakugo. Midoriya starring with DETERMINATION!!!

Midoriya: Kacchan's fuse has been lit. There's a fire under him. But that doesn't change what I have to do. I'll keep chasing after him.

All-Might then got his attention.

All-Might: What were you saying to Bakugo before I arrived so heroically?

Midoriya: Oh, nothing special!

He then pointed at Dash who still laid on the ground flat on her face.

Midoriya: Uh, I think Dash could need some help.

Dash: Actually I'm fine and I heard everything he said.

She lifted her face from the ground which had scratches and bruises.

Dash: I just want to say, we're gonna have to work hard to get to his level of power. Right, Izuku?

Dash gave Izuku a smile, holding her fist up. Izuku smiled as they did a secret handshake and laughed. Dash then yawn in hand.

Dash: Now I need a nap.

She then face planted back to the ground making both Izuku and All-Might sweatdrop.

The End

Speed: Now was that a chapter or what. We kinda got a little bit of Dash's past. Who was the voice speaking in her vision? Well got to find out later in another chapter… when I actually write it eventually. Now to the preview!

Let's see how Dash could handle being responsible. Also learning how to crowd surf is gonna be very important in…

P.s: Had to make a few changes because when I read through it again I made a few mistakes. Also I made a whole mistake to put that weakness as Dash. Little me was stupid to think that's a good idea.
