Buck doesn't hate Halloween. It's just not really his thing, especially with Maddie gone right now. So when Eddie and Christopher find out that Buck doesn't have any plans to celebrate this year, Christopher finds that completely unacceptable and decides he's spending it with them. Eddie just wants to make sure that Buck has at least one happy Halloween.

If they ignored it, stopped whatever activity fed the thing, Eddie was sure it would just go away. Or, Instead of joining the 118, Eddie winds up in the 124th. Him and Buck end up together.
