Pro Wrestling of Animation Facts: All In Arc
Hello. The name is Mr. Leaf Canary, author of Pro Wrestling of Animation. And currently, the author of a ligh novel I had been working on and currently going through a second draft, "Balto Grey". And the author of the webnovel series, "The Wicked Magical Girl" that is currently in Volume 2.
I want to say that thank you all for reading Pro Wrestling of Animation, and I can't believe I had managed to reach another year in this series. What was once a idiotic idea of a wrestling mark, and just wanting to have some fun with two things that I truly love; anime and wrestling. But now, currently don't know on much views I do got on FanFiction since it had been faulty and frozen on a certain number, but over 5K views at AO3.
Now, I wanted to talk about the behind the page Facts of PWA. Granted, there was a lot of change of plans ever since the Rooster Teeth controversy back at October where I have the Night 1 of Road 2 Gold ready to go on December. Even the original title reigns and defenses, at least the overall idea, especially for Global Warfare. Everything was downright perfect for it. Damn you, Rooster Teeth.
As this year, I wanted to to be different for my openings. Because outside of Capital Cosplay opening video, every other opener is an anime intro song. And I had so many to picked, but also had to pick up the right theme. But that Deadman's Hand opener, I didn't expected it to be that wordy in the subtitles.
The reason of such Arc title as the "All In Arc" is something more to motivate myself as a writer, but there is another reason why I choose this name rather than the backup Arc title; "Champion's Carnival", but I didn't want to rip off the All Japan's "Champion Carnival". But we shall talk about the titular tournament, and the Arc name later on. The first event, Capital Cosplay.
Capital Cosplay
There was nothing really special about this event, but is meant to serve as the first event. It's meant to be the Champions first title defense. Holy crap, I should had call it "Champion's Capital" since to me, the main characters of each wrestling story should always be the Champions. Or at least the main protagonists. But the pressure is big on me, since this Is the very first title defense to each championship, so I had written the best I can for each championship. Except two that perhaps are actually fun to write.
The PWA Franchise Championship. This is my way to say goodbye to my childhood series, Ash Ketchum of "Pokemon". Letting Ash compete against another staple to my childhood, the "Yu-Gi-Oh!" franchise. And I wanted to have another staple to my childhood to be involve, and the "Capital Cosplay" name is meant to have Ash Ketchum and Joey Wheeler in a Metabots inspired attires with of course, Mr. Referee, making an apperance of the match, by being a run in. To me, having three staples, at least the elements of it, of my childhood in this match. It's been an entire year, I can't believe I'm not hearing any more adventures of Ash Ketchum and Pikachu. I find this quite fitting, since we will talk about another Swan Song later on in the PWA Facts 3.
The second match is about the PWA World Championship, which it gave me a Festival match between Armin and Byakuya. I always wanted on why can't the rich gimmick wrestlers today can't buy their way into winning championship matches? So I wanted to go... all in, with the idea. So I went with anything that Togami is literally trying to buy out the match. Trying to buy everything in order to win the match, but I wanted to tell a story about how far money can truly buy, when you're facing against a man who doesn't value anything. Not even the World Championship when you see the Festival entrance. So having Eren and Byakuya in a bloody fight wasn't something I expected at all, but it was damn fun writing it.
I think I do remember a title drop was supposed to happen, now remembering Global Warfare. I think I did consider on making Ayaka Uehara and Hibiki Sakura as transitional champions since they weren't supposed to the World Tag Team Champions, but I made them as such. And putting the belts on Kallen Stadtfeld and Yoko Littner. In Global Warfare, you'll see why I wanted that, as a backup match for a Warfare match.
The All In Tournament
Okay, the All In Tournament. It's basically my reverse version of the Vytal Festival Tournament from RWBY. There were two original ideas that I had entertain but drop it, since I asked myself, "Maybe I might use them? I don't know." At least the first idea.
Original idea one; the losing team will be fired. It was may way on writing them out of the story for any future matches, that could possibly be the Patterson Classic matches.
Original idea two; was that the losing team will Not challenge any Championships in the next arc. But I argue myself on maybe I could use them for a Championship match, to build up a possible Festival match.
So I ended up not using any of those two ideas. The ending ideals at least.
There was a third idea, but it's a bracket idea. It was supposed to be a 16 sloted tournament, since in the Semifinals, there was gonna be a Trios Round. And I don't remember who was the other 8, but the current 8 I went with was something I sticked with.
Speaking of original ideas, a fourth idea was theme. I was gonna play the Tournament of Power rule here, where I use characters from the chosen participant to partaken in the tournament. But I had to select characters with a large amount of cast. Like a Black Clover cast with Yuno, Mimosa, Leopold, and Sol, which I think I was gonna replace Luck and Magna in favor of Leopold and Yuno, but the church boys where gonna be the tag team going forward. Plus, make Noelle have a trio of her own with the two I already named. There was a Class 1A Team from My Hero Academia with Shota, Katsuki, Tsuyu which I always love but I don't have an overall plans for her, Momo.
But doing a tournament does drain you out, but not as draining of the Patterson Classic, because to me, doing a Final Warfare was much easier to write than a Patterson Classic. Because writing one ring is hard enough, but two rings? But we'll get there, when we get there.
So yeah, the All In Tournament was just a way to kill some time for me.
Broken Eclipse and Chaos City
First of, I still hate the "Chaos City" name. I should had kept this as "New Year Chaos" since I like that name far more than this.
Alright then, Broken Eclipse. The very first, unofficial PWA event. Went under as "RWBY: Broken Eclipse", which became my February traditional event. I had more fun writing the Charlie vs. Nobara match, because Nobara wasn't the original ideal champion for my Women's World Championship, but it did me favors on getting the Mikasa vs. Nobara match at the Festival. Here's an original idea for Charlie, she was gonna to get a World Championship match at Global Warfare in the originally Arc booking. But I had scramble all of this on a last minute with some on air calls during writing some of these events. Also, I wanted a shocking ending of making Charlie tapping out. To assend Nobara up to the top, by beating a main event character of Charlie, unlike the standard title defense against Akemi Soryiun, which wasn't impressive at all until this match.
Maka being forced into the American Rhodes Church is just something I put up on the last minute. I have no overall plans for Maka, and I don't really recall any plans for the American Rhodes Church. So I put them into this tournament. I don't recall the ARC got a Festival match or were planned to be involve with a feud, but Maka, in the original Arc booking, yes. She had plans to continue on as a tag team with Ruby Rose as the American Death Scythes. But for the current Arc booking, I believe Maka was originally meant to lose in the first round to Korra. I was planning on making Team Korra vs. Team Ackermann for the Finals, at least that was a plan since I did teased a match between the two when they were signing up for the Patterson Classic, but here's the problem throughout the early stages of the tournament. I didn't know who I wanted Korra to be in her 4 women group against Mikasa's. That's why there was a long gap between tournament matches, to the point I'm like it's gonna be an obligation to write.
But these two have given me the chance on working out on the PWA secondary championships gimmick. And I recall I have a hard time for the men's challengers, I have an easier time on the Diamond Championship match, since this is where I can put multiple different characters in a multiple person matches. I always wanted to try out the idea of having an open contest to be unique, since I loved the John Cena's Open US Challenge, and seeing almost every championship is trying to replicate that, due to how popular John Cena had made it into. I think the only time that an Open Challenge ever worked was getting Eddie Kingston signed.
Another side project I was thinking on doing was making Shirou Ogami a potential singles star, then coming up with King and Queen Championship, placing him with Loona as a potential tag team together but I had dropped the idea overall. I believe there was an idea that Louis was gonna bring in Legosi in for a tag team run with Shirou, forming an all wolf group, but I went back with Adam. But I didn't went with Team Ogami vs. Team Burromuerto, since it's basically gonna be the First Anniversary match of the Victorian Empire vs. Animals Brutality and the Freeman Brothers, so I changed it up for Team Luffy... or Team Izuku. We'll get the reason why.
Imperial Crown
I always love this event, and the name. Imperial Crown.
Here's an original Arc booking, this was supposed to be the night where every member of the Victorian Empire is meant to have a title match, and the destruction of the Victorian Empire, to favor Blitzkrieg. With Alejandro Burromuerto winning the Patterson Classic, and the Galliards getting the tag title shot. And Andre, getting the Franchise Championship shot. Everything was gonna be the start of the new regime of the Blitzkrieg.
There was a part of me, wanting to drop the belt to Atsuko at one point, but it wasn't a decision to make, unlike the Grand Magic and Deadman's Hand decision. That was a bitch to come up with. And to make Akko the transitional champion for either Erza or Asuna. So I shrug off the title drop and kept Nobara as champion. And like the Charlie match, I feel in love with the match. Making Nobara beating two of my favorite characters, is proving to me why I made the right choice on making Nobara as the World Champion, even though she have no overall plans in the original Arc booking. I think she was a possible candidate on a Diamond Champion reign, in the original Arc booking.
Believe it of not, I didn't have an overall plan for Luz and Akko as a tag team in the original Arc booking. They were gonna fall to the Blitzkrieg of Laura and Louise. They were gonna to be a dominate tag team champions. But ever since the Rooster Teeth controversy, I had to change of plans, and the moment I saw Lumity back at the Festival, I said this; "These are gonna be the next Tag Team Champions". So This match is meant to be their coronation as Tag Team Champions. And it was before I had thought up the backup Warfare match, because if I did go through with the Warfare match, Lumity would have to lose this match. But I like seeing them as Champions, and I kept it.
The Diamond Championship is a fun write. And this is where Usagi and Asuna feud takes off as Usagi vs. Asuna is the Festival match plan. I want Marinette to be a great secondary champion, and I do love seeing her with the Diamond Championship. In some form, you'll have Asuna vs. Usagi at the Festival.
I think Noelle was gonna be part of the Global Warfare match, and Akemi gaining a tag team partner. But scrap the idea plan as I wanted ASTA and Noelle to compete for the King and Queen Championship, and to build some mixed tag team drama with other teams, but that didn't happen. You'll see why.
The Outlaw Rules Match, that was something to put Loona and Hitomi over, but mostly Loona. And decided to write a broken arm angle where Satoko had broken her arm during the match, and Junko had to take her spot. This is what Outlaw Rules is supposed to be, just literally anything can happen, and even matches can change. Like how the Eren vs. Byakuya match turned into.
Speaking of Byakuya and Huey, this is their blowoff match, since I didn't want to drag that feud and I was favoring the Byakuya vs. Armin match at the Festival.
The four way tag team matches, it's my way on that I didn't have enough challengers, since there's not many tag team matches I had made from the Festival. And I have to make some to fill in the challengers spot.
Fairy Tail: Grand Magic
This was something I did wanted to do for a while. Like RWBY, Attack on Titan, and My Hero Academia, where they got their own shows. I wanted to show some love that made me got into Subs anime, since I finished the original run of the Fairy Tail show, and waiting for the second run. I was such a fan of Fairy Tail, I ended up watching the sub at my best friend's place. So this is my way on thanking them, by giving them their own event. But I still have to have the PWA elements, so I made every match here a Championship match. With both secondary belts being open challenges belts, it make sense. Natsu, Gajeel, and Laxus got a win at the Festival. And Erza got a win at the Festival too, but in a tag team match, hence why I brought in Kallen. For her to have this match with Nobara. The only thing I didn't planned was the Women's Tag Team match, but this is Lumity first title defense, so I said; "okay, Lumity is winning, and this is their first big step as tag team champions. And it's against Fairy Tail characters".
I wanted to see Eren Jaeger vs. Natsu Dragneel for a match, I got to see this happen, and it been a fun write. And since I didn't have an overall plan for Naofumi and Keyaru being the Champions, and looking at the challengers list, I didn't have that many options, and didn't want to bury the entire Fairy Tail cast. So I gave Laxus and Gajeel the belts. Can't say the same thing about the Women's World Championship situation.
The opening contest is basically a quartet royal rumble match, but with other Guilds. Since the Fairy Tail Guild is the Top Dogs of Anime, where they were never the underdogs, so they get Championship matches, while every other Guild will be placed into this match with a Team PWA. I went with the MC Rejects, since they were the plucky underdogs. And I did wanted Kaguya to be part of the Patterson Classic at the Festival, but had to change it to Lucy to stroke the Fairy Tail guild ego.
Speaking of stroking ego, I did wanted to do a fan service, but this time, a more traditional. Unlike last year, where I kept it off screen, and I have Fairy Tail running it. Of course I had to show it, and I had to look up different bikini types. With each round getting skimpier and skimpier, while the FT girls are like the heels and will get noticed, while the PWA girls are the ones that aren't actually you see in fan service situation. That's why I didn't have Marin or Junko take part of this event, since that would be, in Fairy Tail term, "unfair" to their girls.
Deadman's Hand
Another event with a great name.
Alright, here's something that was a problem for me during my writing for the Women's World Championship. I was arguing with myself to either drop the Championship from Nobara to Erza at Grand Magic, or drop it to Asuna at Deadman's Hand. I keep going back and forth, on which one I would had wanted to be my Women's World Champion, a three way situation with the third option was to go coast-to-coast with Nobara, but I didn't want to be repetitive to myself by having both World Champions to go coast-to-coast, which I kind of wish I did now. Because I loved writing that Mikasa vs. Nobara match, more than the Triple Threat World Championship which is still good and all, but I felt it for that singles match. The reason why I went with Asuna instead of either Erza and Nobara is that; I have no Festival plans for Erza as Champion, and maybe add it to the Warfare match situation, which I'll explain more on why I didn't want it to go with that route; Nobara got Mikasa for the Festival, which again, my favorite match I wrote for Night 1; and Asuna got Usagi, then add Marinette later on. So it was between this and Grand Magic were my World Championship choices.
Staying put into the Women's division, in the originally Arc booking, with Laura and Louise as the originally scheduled Tag Team Champions from Road 2 Gold. Maka and Ruby were gonna win the Tag Team Championships here. Lumity wasn't involved, nor Amity wasn't gonna be involved in PWA until I made changes for Road 2 Gold. So this is where we would had gotten Maka and Ruby, coming out to "Aces & Eights: Deadman's Hand" theme and have a biker theme, since the event was called Deadman's Hand, and who to represent it? The American Death Scythes.
The Diamond Championship, letting Marinette dropping it. Believe it or not, this is where both Diamond and Franchise Championship had trade places. It was the Diamond Champion, Weiss, meant to go further than Joey. This is where it was either Tanjiro or Natsu was meant to the win the Championship, but save that for Global Warfare. There was also plans on making Byakuya being a transitional Champion, to be add fuel to his rivalry with Armin. Huey was also a possible candidate. This is where I wanted Joey to drop the belt, while Weiss kept retaining. To add the Blitzkrieg paranoia on clinging onto power. But plans changed, and kept Joey his belt, while Marinette drop the belt instead. And why Junko? My explanation was that due to the injury angle back at Imperial Crown, it's more of giving Junko the props and a small run with it. Another reason why Junko, on being the Diamond Champion, is that I wanted to give the belt to Nobara after she lost it, or give Noelle the run with it since she got a feud with Akemi but scraps due to the King and Queen. At one point, I said I'll keep Marinette as Champion, but it was the idea image of Junko and Marin together, and I went with Junko for that. Plus, I wish I had introduced Marin for a singles match against Junko for the Festival last year, so I can build a model vs. cosplayer theme, and I have two great songs to go for it too. So I went with this route in the overall.
I also believe that the Satsuki and Setsuna were meant to be a instant thing. At the beginning of the year, I didn't need the whole drama behind it. But I wanted it to start of the new Victorian Empire, for the women's division with a new tag team by using a scrap plan and inserted into this group.
The Men's World Championship, I remembered that I made Eren the champion, for this match alone. I think I wanted Eren to be injured before the match, but I drop it since that would make Goku look bad. So I gave it a competive match between the two, and giving Eren that Dark Knight Returns moment where he's the Batman and Goku is the Superman. Which that had been the overall theme of Goku, that he is the Superman of Anime.
RWBY: 10 Year Anniversary Show
I never planned on making this, till I saw other RWBYtubers showing off their love for RWBY, and I didn't really know if I should to do it or not, because I feel like I'm too late to do so. So I had written this as fast as possible. Possibly three days at best for me to come up with this one. But also love to throw a jab at Rooster Teeth due to their lack of women empowerment, I made the event exclusive to the women's division. And part of me wishes I could had done is that make the Fairy Tail show the men's division show, and this would be the women's show, where both divisional Championships could be separated. Or that I could put up the Men's Championship up on the line by;
-The Men's World Championship: Eren Jaeger (c) vs. Adam Taurus
-The Men's World Tag Team Championship: Gajeel Redfox & Laxus Dreyar (c) vs. Sun Wukong & Neptune Vasilias
-The Franchise Championship in a Six-Pac Challenge: Joey Wheeler (c) vs. Jaune Arc vs. Scarlet David vs. Cardin Winchester vs. Brawnz Ni vs. Yatsuhashi Daichi
And as for the women's divisional championships added;
-The Women's World Championship: Asuna Yuuki (c) vs. Pyrrha Nikos
-The Women's World Tag Team Championship: Amity Blight & Luz Noceda (c) vs. Emerald Sustrai & Ilia Amitola
-The Diamond Championship: Junko Enoshima (c) vs. Cinder Fall
And I just made this card up on the spot. Booking hindsight is an asshole at times. If there was something I wish I could had done, was the arena. I had to use an open field arena rather than the arena I was using for this event.
To through a jab at RWBY, I give the Vytal Royale the most ridiculous match stipulation, the infamous TNA Fight for the Right Match. And making Jessica Cruz winning it, is something that I told myself; "I wish we could trade Ruby for her."
Summer Stampede and Horror's Eve
Alright the four way matches, they weren't scheduled for the World Championship. This was an on air call and with Dreamwork coming in before this, I decided on just having a four way title defense for both Champions. But it these matches made me believe in Joey and Marinette.
In fact, Marinette wasn't scheduled to be involve of the World Title picture at the Festival, and she was gonna be Ochaco's four girl in the All In Tournament. That was the overall plan for her, and outside of the King and Queen Championship, that was her glass ceiling for me since this is gonna be her only chance a World Championship challenger. So because of this match, I went through with the triple threat match for the World Championship at the Festival. It's funny on how things work out for Marinette, since Adrien vs. Kazuto vs. Mamoru was the original Festival match while Marinette is an All In participant for Team Ochaco. Actully, she was gonna be her tag team for the All In match for Horror's Eve, that's why I had to drop the Diamond Championship, so she can be in the tag team match with Ochaco, but on air call at Dreamwork change all of that for her. Now the men's triple threat been scrap while the women, which was never the plan, made it into the Festival.
Speaking of this match, when I got Ayaka and Hibiki in this match, I wanted to do an honorable babyface tag team, letting one member of the team to win the belt. I got this mostly from the Iiconis from WWE, when they challenge the NXT Women's Championship with Nikki Cross and defending champion, Asuka.
And as for Joey, this is where I had an idea on maybe putting the World Championship on him with the pinfall on Eren while Naofumi and Keyaru left the arena, after hitting the ripcord lariat. Keyaru forced him out by holding Raphtalia as a hostage. So Joey was gonna make the pin. And whoever the challenger, Goku, would be Joey's first title defense. But I didn't went with that route, since Joey would be a double champion, and I didn't like the idea of Joey losing the Franchise Championship in a Lucky Seven Match while beating Goku later on. It would buried Goku on a competive scale. Which is funny, because Goku got destroyed in his title rematch against Eren. Being Eren's number one contender must be curse.
Speaking of Number One Contender's, I'll explain Charlie in the Global Warfare. But for the others, I had considered the others, but Akemi Soryuin and Nagito Komaeda. I had considered on having them getting a second chance for the World Championship at Global Warfare. All but one were possible outcomes, but I'm proud on my final decision on who to make the final challengers before the Festival. If it was Nobara, and with the power of hindsight, I wish I would had made her the challenger. Scarlet? Start fresh with the Declaration of War winner, and let see what happen afterwards. Akko? I could have Marin winning the DoW match but that would be a bit harder to sell since I was deadset on Junko vs. Marin vs. two others for the Diamond Championship. Akemi, outside of Noelle and she got her ticket filled out for the Festival at that time, it would be pointless. As for the men, Natsu, I can have him and Tanjiro compete for the Festival. Togami and Arlelt could have their Unsanctioned Fight in Night 3. Joey would be on the same boat with Erza for the challenger. Nagito would be competing against DENJI, but I wasn't too sure if he would be in a Trios or Singles match with him. Erza and Joey's possible challengers, it would be Charlie since she's always been my go-to main eventer, and Bow, since for some strange reason, I always have those two men in the Festival together, somehow. I swear I wasn't planning on a blowoff match between the two, but those would be my two top contender's if Erza and Joey won at Global Warfare. But writing for these two matches have been fun.
The Semifinals of the All In Tournament. Like I said, it felt like an obligation to write. But to continue on with the men, and I had mentioned that the Victorian Empire is the planned the group to be in the Finals, but what I had a hard time going on was their opponents. I wanted to bring back Yuri Katsuki and Victor Nikiforov into the fold, to bring their justice onto Ciel Phantomhive. And Izuku already in a group with Reiner Braun, Sokka, and his best friend, Oscar Pine. So I didn't have room for them to be involve with the finals, and putting them into Team Luffy, which wasn't the ideal group. Like Luffy said in the Face-Off, it was supposed to be Tulio and Miguel, hence the prop lute spot from the Patterson Classic back at Road 2 Gold. I had written myself some problems here. So I had entertain the idea of three routes. Route one was to make Yuri a singles start, by making him teamed up with Luffy and Los Dados Cargados (Miguel and Tulio). Route two is drop Yuri and Victor out of the tournament match, and make them compete against Kouchi Mizuki and Ritsuka Aoyagi, which would explain why I kept having them in the area whenever I written Yuri assaulting Ciel, to either go with the revenge match or the tag team match. But I went with Route three, to go all in with the revenge match. And hinting a possibility of a match between Yuri and Victor against Kouchi and Ritsuka.
But another possibility of the Finals was to have the Victorian Empire vs. the MC Rejects, and at one point, I was deadset on that match. Even whatever happens after Global Warfare, and this was them bouncing back. But... it didn't feel right. And I write the card index, to see what's more appealing, and we'll get there because there is a reason why I wanted the MC Rejects to be in the Finals.
As for the American Rhodes Church new member, I always wanted to add another character into the group, and seeing how much people hates the latest Proud Family series. So I gotta capitalize on that one. Plus, coming up with the name of the Maya Apocalypse, is a play in words of Mayan Apocalypse. And having Maya in the group, had been fun with possible storylines with Maya in the group.
Global Warfare
If PWA have a Big 4 events, it would be Imperial Crown, Deadman's Hand, Global Warfare, and Wrestle Festival. 5? It would be Dreamwork.
Okay. I wanted to talk about the original Arc booking for the Women's World Championship match. Blake Belladonna was meant to have the Reign of Terror for this match. It was gonna be under the "Three Acts of PWA", a glorified, retitled, "Three Stages of Hell" Match, and the match between Charlie and Blake was also going back to time, which not literally but match wise. The three acts were; singles match to represent their Deadman's Hands match; a deathmatch to represent their very singles match at the First Anniversary; and the final act is the Final Warfare match, cage and all with the two rings, and to represent their very first match together back at the very first Global Warfare which was constanted under Final Warfare. Everything was leading up to this one match, booked in a year advanced, with Charlie winning it and gonna main event Night 1, which was still under the 2 Night booking schedule against Korra who won the Declaration of War Match. Until Rooster Teeth really, really fuck it up for me. So I worked with what I got for this Arc. Here's one thing, this was gonna be their final singles match together, until I find another reason to get them together. Hence, the Arc title; All In. I was all in with this match fifteen months ago. So I sticked with the All In arc title. To remind myself on what I would have gotten, but continue on to see through this Arc. Going all in till the Festival is over.
Here's a thing about how much I was dedicated on Charlie being the World Champion here, is that she was originally scheduled to win the Five Way Elimination match back at Horror's Eve, and she would be coronated here, but I had a change of plot on favoring the PERFECTION vs. MC Rejects storyline, so everything has to be around that. So Akko winning it instead of Charlie really does hurt me, but it wouldn't make sense by having Charlie winning when she wasn't here in PWA at all times, because I had nothing for her until Global Warfare. There was gonna been an injury angle, but I drop that. So no, neither Charlie or Akko aren't meant to win the World Championship match here, and seeing the Declaration of War Match. I made the right choice, because I wanted Asuna to defend the belt against Usagi and Marinette.
Another original match idea I had to drop, was Weiss, who's was gonna to retain the Diamond Championship till this event with six other challengers. And I believe it was gonna be Marin to win the championship with aid from PERFECTION. Funny that in the original Arc booking is that Joey was supposed to lose his Franchise Championship to Tanjiro back at the 5-Pack Challenge, while Weiss is meant to have the near coast-to-coast reign. Plus, I kept referencing to myself that Weiss was meant to usurp Ciel Phantomhive. Turning the Victorian Empire into Blitzkrieg, with the Galliards, Gina Boyd, Louise de La Valliere and Laura Bodewig. A German sinpired group with Gina serving as Weiss' heavy. Also, this is where I had an argument with myself on if this was either Marin or Nobara winning the belt here for a Festival title defense. But I think I favored Marin more, due to storyline reasons.
Speaking of original arc booking, here's something that kept it booking. PERFECTION vs. MC Rejects, at least the ending of it with Marin turning heel and all. I had this idea the same amount of time with Charlie vs. Blake match, right down to the moment where I saw Marin with the MC Rejects and the Anime America first episode review of My Dress-Up Darling about Marin being too perfect while being a massive otaku. Right there, I said to myself, "Marin gotta kick Izuku in the balls for the turn." With the Diamond Championship win, PERFECTION is winning. But both the Diamond Championship, and the Men's World Tag Team Championships didn't make the overall cut, since both Izuku and Oscar were one of the champions that was near to coast-to-coast reigns, but they were gonna drop them to Seiya and Tatsuya here, even though Kazuto was gonna make the cover. And also, I added the stipulation of a disbanding, is something I made on air call where I felt like I just want the trio of Akko, Deku and Ossy, while dropping Sokka and Reiner out of the group, because I had no overall plans for those two. Which, by the way, that stipulation for the Women's Final Warfare Match had been planned for months of advanced. Speaking of Deku and Ossy, they were originally booked to win the World Tag Team Championships at Road 2 Gold, and was meant to have the plucky underdog title reign until this event.
Speaking of Final Warfare, a backup Warfare match in the women's night, was for the triple threat trios match for the Women's World Tag Team Championships. It was gonna be between; TDI vs. the Champions of Kallen & Yoko, Red-Haired Bombshells vs. the Sisters Society, a which was gonna be; Satsuki Kiryuin, Setsuna Higurashi, & Stocking Anarchy. The Sister Society was an Arc 2 original booking to have Towa, Ryuko and Panty, losing the trio, but I overbook myself there. So Introduced the group early on this Arc, but the this match was drop overall, and introducing Yoko Littner in the group, I still got the Red-Haired Bombshells in the match but with Team RWBY. If I'm being honest, I'm glad I didn't went through with this one. Because I didn't want Lumity to drop the belts after a three event run. And making Erza as the World Champion with Kallen and Yoko, it would had been a trios championship match, but I was planning on making Satoko Hojo and Yuno Gasai winning the tag belts, and that means Junko would had won the World Championship, which will explain under special contract that two will be under the Tag Team belts contract while the third is the special World Championship contract. So it would be; Satoko/Yuno, and Satsuki/Setsuna will be the tag while Junko and Stocking are the World Championship contenders. What's worst, it's under the Winner Takes All stipulation, so I'm not planning on having Junko as a World Champion, just to have Satoko and Yuno as Tag Team Champions. Plus, I think I was planning on replacing either Satoko or Yuno for a manga character which is from a series I had been reading, Satanophany. Chika Amagi. I had been arguing to myself over the idea, and maybe go with someone else. But my goal was always get Chika Amagi, but couldn't. And even as a Patterson Classic guest, but couldn't. Don't know why, but maybe next year.
Looking at the Men's World Championship, I model the match from the Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena SummerSlam match. It is meant to be Goku's doomsday. Something that Ichigo and DENJI have alluded, and Eren, who that both men have mentioned that Eren got the legendary Dark Knight Returns monologue of Batman, as a picture looking down at Goku office. And Deadman's Hand is meant to be Goku's Superman vs. Batman, then Global Warfare is the Death of Superman.
Dreamwork
Alright, placing Dreamwork here was the actual original booking placement. Since you could tell from Global Warfare, I haven't done anything for the King & Queen Championship promos. They were gonna to be a "last minute" tournament to declare the Champions at the Festvial, but this is where I have to introduced the Night 3 concept, so I can give every Championship an equal treatment. So for Night 3, you gotta thank the King & Queen Championship.
Speaking of which, I think the original plan for the King & Queen Championship Finals, which I nearly wrote it in, was the Kirigayas vs. Chibas at the Finals. Which another match, involving both teams, with Adrien and Marinette involved. I wasn't planning on making anyone else as my first King & Queen Champions, besides with the Kirigayas or Chibas, or even the Miraculous Duo. All three were deadset on becoming Champions, until when Asuna won the Women's Championship, and the whole Rooster Teeth controversy, but I did wanted to commit to it, till Deadman's Hand. With the miraculous display from Marinette in Summer Stampede. So I had to scrambled up a possible finals. And using this to continue to elevate the feud of Asuna vs. Usagi, then turned into triple threat match.
So for the idea, I worked up with Noelle vs. Akemi feud, and turn it into a mixed tag feud but without the buildup. And since this event was originally meant to be between Warfare and Festival, this whole tournament was meant to be a quick thing. But placing it a head of schedule, is a pain.
And original Arc booking here, is that Ruby and Maka were meant to defend the belts against; Weiss and Gina, Blake and Yang. A triple threat match between the teams, with Blake and Weiss are ordering Ruby to hand her belt over. Since both Weiss and Blake have their matches at the Festival, and they haven't have claim for the tag belts, this would be the only time they can get a shot of it. Now for the post match, is something I had been building up to. Where Blake is completely pissed at Yang, and telling her that her excuse that she have Yang's hair stuck in her eye thus couldn't perform right. So she give Yang an option; it's either her or her hair. So Yang cut her hair till she have the short hair look. And throughout the original booking, I was gonna have Blake vs. Joylne Cujoh match since I wanted Jolyne and Yang to form a tag team together.
And also placing it here to be my excuse on having nothing but tag team matches are not my favorite thing to write. And we're
Abandoned Events
There were two events that came before Fairy Tail: Grand Magic, and RWBY: 10 Year Anniversary shows.
The first event, but second to come up with, was called "PWA: King's Spirit". It's a tribute show for the late Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh. And this would had been the first Event of the Arc. And the key idea is to have a Yu-Gi-Oh card theme. For example, the Victorian Empire have the Gem-Knight theme where Weiss have the Lady Brilliant Diamond inspired look. And I believe the idea was the Seto Kaiba was a member of the Global Economy, and were planning on screwing Joey over the Franchise Championship with Joey defending it against Byakuya Togami while wearing a Blue-Eyes inspired attire, which was used in Capital Cosplay. Then surprised, Seto helps Joey instead and do a tribute to their creator. Plus, I think the stage idea was gonna be a Duel Disk inspired where the card slot is the entrance tunnel. And have the Millennium Puzzle titantron theme. And I would had done a battle royal, which I'm starting to noticed that I'm like Tony Khan on either Tounaments and Battle Royals. I would had call the preshow battle royal the "Card Shuffle" battle royal, and a 5-Person tag team match as the opening match. It's basically suffling the cards first, then draw 5 cards.
As for the second event, but was the first one I came up with. And it's something I had done for Night 3. It's called, "Sailor Moon: Final Makeup" and this is how confident I was with Weiss Schnee as the Diamond Champion. She was gonna main event Final Makeup against Usagi, and it's a traditional singles matc. While Blake is on the semi main event slot, and I think it was against Sailor Venus. Like RWBY: 10 Year Anniversary, it was gonna be a female driven event. And here's the theme, all the PWA roster members were gonna play as the heels. The "corupted" versions of themselves. The American Death Scythes were gonna have a Black Blood and Grimm inspired theme, against Sailor Saturn and Uranus for the tag team belts. And that Usagi swan song moment at the Third Act, it was originally meant to be here. It was planned for over a year when I was making this All In Arc. I think I was gonna have Usagi Jr. to be involved in the event as a young adult, and opening contest.
Both events were gonna be at Japan. If there were gonna be outside of Japan, Paris for Sailor Moon, and New York City for Yu-Gi-Oh.
Wrestle Festival: The Third Act
Night 1
Mikasa vs. Nobara match is my favorite match I had written in Night 1. While the annoying match to write in both Night 1 and 2 are the Patterson Classic matches.
But I'll talk about the Patterson Classic first. And if you read the entrants order, you can tell that I went with their shows titles. A-Z on the Women's PC, and Z-A on the Men's PC. I was hoping during the comments section to have a guessing game on who would appear in the PC match, when I give out hints on the envelope cards at the Face-Off. There's some potential names that would be appearing from the PC match into the next Arc.
I have a couple options for the Arcane slot, but it was either gonna be Vi or Jinx. So I went with the former. And wanted to show off on how happy I was for hearing that Arcane Season 2 is coming out next year, so it have to be an Arcane character.
Having Suletta is a blast in this match. I can imagine her making another PC apperance, or even a Diamond Championship match in the next arc. Her, with; Kohaku and Tomo Aizawa.
Rally Vincent is just someone I added because I really love her OVA special, and love the dub too. Clearly, an underrated classic.
Hyper Police was one of the very first furries I had ever watch, and was attracted into it. I swear there was a dub of it.
Leina Vance from Queen's Blade is just something I wanted to put out there. Some fan service to myself, but wish I could had done a Lena Inverse from Slayers instead.
Playing a nostaglic factor, adding Utena Tenjou from Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Lum from Urusei Tatsura, are interesting ones. I was only interested in Lum was from a little crossover with Ranma and InuYasha, and later on the reboot.
Now, Ameri Azazel. When I first came up with this entry, I wasn't expecting her to be 6'2". Because, writing wrestling for three years, and I rarely met a character that broke the 6' tall standard.
Now for the Cecilia Alcott being the next leader of the female branch of the Victorian Empire, have been planned for months. Wish I could have more hints, but when you realize that there's an English envelope card, there's not that many characters that are from canon England. So it's quite a no brainer, plus, to replace Laura from IS: Infinite Stratos.
Now the Komichi Akebi joining with PERFECTION was something I wanted to do, and there might be a chance to have Miyako Shikimori in the group. Having both Komichi and Miyako as a tag team would be something I'm considering, and wanting an excuse for more Komichi Akebi in PWA.
Now having Loona winning the PC match is a planned one, but it was her follow finalist I had a hard time. So having Blake in this match, I said to myself; "I have to be Blake." Plus a wolf and cat a the finalists is quite funny. But there was also another alternative, and this is where the final four were gonna be; Suletta Mercury, Tomo Aizawa, Komichi Akebi, and Miyako Shikimori. It was either Tomo or Suletta winning it, but I want someone in the PWA roster to win it, and Loona, is the choice of it.
Did I ever consider Blake? Yes. Because here's a thing, she and Yang were meant to get a tag team match with Kallen and Yoko, hence their absences of the show, also there's another reason why they're not in the show. Which I could had cut on two more slots for Kallen and Yoko, but hindsight is such a bitch to deal with. So far, they're the only match in Night 1 that have to be cut, and to match the equal amount of matches I have for both Nights 1 and 2.
The Victorian Empire vs. Ryuko Matoi and Towa Higurashi. This was meant to happen last year with the Anarchy Sisters in a trios match. But better late than never I guess. And I always like the idea of Satsuki and Setsuna as a tag team, so this is a match to push them into the tag team division. The female branch of the Victorian Empire is gonna play onto power, since they were the dominant side from Weiss' Blitzkrieg.
The Outlaw Rules match is something I had to put together, but wanted a female hardcore match for the event that isn't the Collision Course Match. Gwen is the obvious choice, but it was who was gonna be her opponent. And there was an original plan that it could be Loona, or even a tag team match of Loona and Hitomi against Gwen and LeShawna. But when I see Rosemary, I'm like, I can work with that. So this match was meant to get Gwen over, but in a tag match, meant to get her and Loona over. But... there was an abandoned idea that I did toy with. I wanted Stocking Anarchy to lead an all gothic girls group, and having Gwen and Loona in the same room, it would had been fine. If I'm being honest to myself, it does throw a few wrenches to the overall Arc.
The All In Finals. Like I said, Marinette was originally meant to be in this match with Ochaco, Snapdragon and Crimvael. Even the tag team role was gonna be Gwen and LeShawna at the very early stages, or even when Tsuyu Asui was part of the roster, Marinette was gonna be part of this match. The result, wouldn't change since I wanted the ARC to be in the World titles picture. Now for May Marigold being back, one, to hear that "Will Ospreay: Elevated" again, but also to payoff a role that was originally meant for May at one of the abandoned storylines but put it on Snapdragon instead. Also, like Marinette, I want Ochaco to have that underdog moment against the ARC. So having Maka eliminated early on, to show that she's never been a true member of the group, while the official members are ganging up on Ochaco. And giving myself a small match up between Adora and Ochaco. Giving Adora the win at the Festival just felt like a fever dream, since she have never won a Festival match. And Adora treat it like she had won the World Championship itself.
The 2-out of-3 Falls Match is such an interesting experiment for me, since I technically done one, but it was a stupid idea of first blood rules for the first fall, and second fall for the opponent, and have submission match. But it was quite neat on having like a traditional 2-out of-3 Falls Match. The story between Hime Star and the Muscle Girls is quite simple. Just feeling like they had been screwed over by the Muscle Girls over the World Tag Team title shot, and thus, this match happen. Plus, I wanted to challenge myself on having a traditional match falls match. So this would be the time to experiment.
The Collision Course Match, the original main event match of Night 1. Here's the thing, the first four elimination was the idea, but it was who was meant to be the final two, and winner. Charlie, again, my go-to character on winning. But it didn't have that pop, so I play with the idea of Korra winning, but she have the least chances on winning even though I want to use the idea that she have to catch up to the others. And so, it was Erza and Weiss were the final two. And I juggle with the idea of what happen if one of them does win. Weiss seems to be more likely to have more possible storylines, but Erza is free from the Red-Headed Bombshells, so I can play more into a Mary Sue-esque character role for her, something she had been criticized for. So I choose Erza, but still haven't decided on what role it would be, but like how I have to deal with, throughout the year. Just gotta go through with it, and sees what happen, because I had been surprised before throughout the year.
If Nobara vs. Mikasa match would never happen, I would had Mikasa vs. Korra to be the alternative. But due to the lack of Korra I had presented, it would had been an opening contest match or at least the second match to come after the first. What saved Nobara vs. Mikasa match from being the semi main event is Nobara promo. Continue to prove to me on why I made the right choice on her being my first World Champion, and deserve the main event spot of Night 1, which was meant to be on both nights; Patterson Classic to open the night, and ending the night with the Collision Course. And the match I had written for this match, is my favorite to write. It's up there with Blake vs. Charlie at the First Anniversary. There's something that click with this match for me. The match was meant to have a shorter time length, but I extended it and wanting on making them the two of the baddest women on the planet.
Night 2
The men's night, being a male writer, this was slightly easier to write but still didn't have it own faults.
Like the first night, the Patterson Classic is the most annoying to write. Even with the finish or result, it's not like the Final Warfare match where all that hardwork and mind breaking ideas, it feel satisfying when you post it and feel the effect it did to you. It feels like an accomplishment. But writing a battle royal or a PC match, it's the amount of limited action you can do. And selective high spots. All you have to do, at least the first few to have a standard multi person match, but it's the elimination aspects that makes it annoying. The more people is in the ring, you have to pick out on who to eliminated and how. For some reason, I have a harder time here, unlike the Vytal Royale, the Grand Magic Battle Royale, and the Declaration of War Match, the Patterson Classic is such a pain because I have to pin point everything. Because matches like these, are usually three elements; the entries; the pop moments; and the eliminations. A battle royal can have two of those, the last two, but the entries make it much more difficult for me. And there was a point earlier on in the year, that I was gonna cut it down to 20 people, and not do 30. So finishing up the Patterson Classic, is not only annoying but also free willing. Here's a fun fact, when I first write up both events, I was gonna do opening match to main event, but I couldn't get passed the first match, which is this. So I skip it, and move on into the next match and it felt lighter. I continue on doing that, because I said to myself when I got to these matches; "I know you're gonna to be the most annoying to write, but I'll get passed you." So I write. Did the best I can, and once it was all over, I felt freed. Doing a Warfare Match is unique compare to this, because a match that seems more restricted have more creativity, while a match for creativity have the most restriction.
I never gave Yusuke a chance, but hearing about the live action show and recalling seeing the OVA special in dub, I decided to bring him in.
Bringing Junichiro is something I want to give love to, for Tomo is a Girl series. And might not see season 2, since it was a short lived manga series. And since I had introduced the King and Queen Championship, there might be a possibility on bringing him and Tomo in as challengers.
Shimoneta representative, Tanukichi Okuma was a planned entry for last year but I didn't do it. I still don't know why, but I wanted to bring in Tanukichi in for a one arc role and maybe a tag team or trios run with Crimvael and the main lead of World's End Harem. But that never happen.
The amount of nostalgic characters of is quite fun, but my favorite is Pegasus Seiya, and his entrance theme since it's basically meant to be a play on his actual US English intro by the same band and song.
I gave Hunter the surname Wittebane is because he's a clone of the main villain, and that was his surname, so I went with it. Or I could had give him the Star Wars treatment, and call him "Hunter Skywalker".
I wanted a character from Odd Taxi to appear and the only character I think I could bring in was Shun Imai, for a quick elimination.
Ray White is quite interesting, because I wanted to replace Kira Yamato for the upcoming arc, but it has to be a character that fits the PERFECTION motto of "the literal definition of PERFECTION". So Ray is a possible replacement.
Alright, having Takashi Komuro in this match is something I wanted to do. Because I love Highschool of the Dead, and still sore that we will never get a season 2, or a movie since every anime successful season 1 gets one. But Takashi in this match is just me showing love to a dead anime series.
Another character I did want to replace Kira for is Bell Cranel, since I always take his series as an alegory of marriage affair when you think about it. He met this chick one day and wanted to improve for her, while living with a wife like character. He wasn't improving at all till he met her, but he can still get away with but I haven't passed season one, so I don't know how it goes. Unlike Ray White, I don't know what happen to Bell after seeing him. Ray? It's quite obvious on who he is.
Gino. I want a Code Geass character in the match, and I can't have Lelouch since he's not the athletic type, but I want a different character all together, and I remember Gino the most. And like Ameri, I wasn't expecting him to be that tall. I know he's a Britannian, or American, but 6'4"? Damn. And I show my inner McMahonism by wanting him to be involve in PWA.
Karma is another name I wasn't having high hopes for, but when I had an idea after the Night and the Arc, I got a possible idea for him in the next Arc.
Riley Freeman was originally meant to introduced Ekko, and even come out to "Hit Row: Now You Know", but I remember what MVP said that not all black wrestlers need to be together, so I kept him away from CENSORED, and I didn't have Bow and Maya break away from American Rhodes Church, and Huey got his crowning achievement later on. So yeah, I want Ekko to be on his own. Which I believe he was meant to be in the final four, but far enough to reach it.
Black Star, I was done on picking fun of him, so I gave him a break in this match and give him some moments. I still don't like him, though.
Having Joey winning the match, is something I wanted ever since Summer Stampede, but it was his finalist. Bow. When I wrote it in, they said something I keep telling myself. That they seem to be destined to each other, and I'm not even trying to write it in. So I went with it. Don't be too surprised that if we will have a Bow vs. Joey match in the next Wrestle Festival. In some form, because they had a mixed Trios match, finalists for both Collision Course and the Patterson Classic.
The Hope Over Despair vs. The Shonen Death Machine was originally meant to be a Trios match as DENJI and Nagito was meant to be in it, but I need some more main event players for the Collision Course Match, so yeah, this match was cut into a tag team match. I even was entertaining an 8-Person tag team match with Akane, Sonia, and EMMA involved, but I didn't have a dark fansty female lead to be a member of the SDM. So that was scrap. So this match is the definition of filler, but I did change the winner for SDM instead of HoD. Because Kaiju No. 8 is finally getting an anime, so mine as well push them for a title match in the future.
Keyaru vs. Naofumi was always been the planned Festival match. It was meant to start off from last year's Festival where Keyaru is meant to screw Naofumi over. Letting Naofumi have a Festival losing streak of 0-3. I think there were gonna be rated-r to NC-17 levels of a storyline, but didn't went that far. So thankfully, the tag title reign did cushion up the storyline. Keyaru trolling Naofumi friendship is the leading idea for the feud. To show how much heartless and unremorsing person he really is. And also making Naofumi winning, pushes him to the main event level status, or at least a World Championship contender.
The All In Finals. Now here's the reason why I wanted the MC Rejects to be in the finals, instead of Team Luffy. Because I want Luffy to be the one to win the DoW to face Eren Jaeger at Night 3. Because the idea was to have Luffy vs. Eren at the Third Act, to have their Festival Match that I wanted back, and hinting a future match at the Festival between the two. And go ahead with the Kouichi and Ritsuka vs. Yuri and Victor to happen. But the Summer Stampede is the moment where I have to make a final decision for some of the matches. But Katsuki is the one that had been carrying the feud with Ciel, so I went with this route instead. So Marcel would had been part of the match, but with Yuri in it, I have to get Ciel in the match somehow. So I written another injury angle with Marcel, but the finish was different. It was meant to be Yuri big moment where he did got his revenge. As for Adrien, again, it's quite funny that how he was meant to have the triple threat match with Mamoru and Kazuto, but he ended up taking Marinette's All In role. There was a point where I did want Adrien to be involve in the Collision Course Match, and was meant to have a moment with him eliminating both Mamoru and Kazuto. But if I have a reason why I didn't put him in that match? I wanted to bury the French characters, but I ended up doing that, since Marinette and Adrien lost their matches, but the only French character that got a victory at their home country, was Andre Grandier. But unlike Tony Khan, I don't really like the idea of building a big moment for the hometown star, just to win. At least not all the time. But make it work, like if Hayter was winning at Wembley, and not Saraya. Or make the heel look like the biggest asshole, like how MJF beaten CM Punk in Chicago. The aftermath gotta make that victory and the moment work, not the moment itself.
Now the upcoming three matches are no disqualification matches variants, so I had to make each one different from the next. So there's a reason why tables and ladders weren't used.
The Unsanctioned Fight is been planned by design. And the idea of having a billionaire vs. a political leader is something I wanted to see, since it's like who is wrost? The tyrant or the rich? And wanting to have a bloody fight. And since it's quite fitting for both men, since technically, their first matches involve in a deathmatch in some way. For Byakuya, at the beginning of the year is a glorified Outlaw Rules match, while Armin had competed in a deathmatch as his debut match. Both involved Eren. To me, there was no difficult choice on picking the winner. It was meant to be Byakuya.
I can't say the same to the next match, since the original winners were meant to be Oscar and Izuku. I think I had an idea of the bed of nails, but I didn't like it when AEW did it, and it would ruin the concept of the Dog Collar match. So chairs, stairs and dollar collar chains are enough. Plus, I never thought about this for the heels, but what would happen if the heels have the bolt cutters by cutting the chain and keeping their collars on? It's technically called the Dog Collar match, not a Dog Collar Chain match. So I play with that idea, and it might be a one time thing. I love writing this match, since it's been something I wanting to write. Believe it or not, this was gonna be the main event of Night 2, and just a tag team match, but I had to follow up the Final Warfare Match. And I can't top the Briscoes vs. FTR dog collar match, so I try to dumb down the action the amount of violence, and make this as the semi main event instead. I believe I had an original post match beatdown from Seiya and Tatsuya, by tossing Oscar through the stage, but scrap it.
Now the main event of Night 2. Originally, Bow, Joey and Adrien was gonna be part of this match but I wanted Joey and Huey to have their own moments, so I separate them. As for Bow, I think I wanted to have Huey and Bow to have a match, but kept them away since I wanted it to be a singles match. While Adrien, he got the Marinette role. Placing Nagito and DENJI in, where replacing Joey and Bow. As for Reiner, I think I wanted him away from Sokka. Plus, since this match is meant to have the most ladder and tables spot, I wanted to involve their props into the other two matches earlier, but I had to remind myself that they're for this match, not theirs. So I kept away from tables and ladders, or else you would had seen tables and ladder spots earlier on, lesser the impact for this match spots, and wanting to make the spots different from the Women's Collision Course Match. I think DENJI was meant to be eliminated early on, but after him saying that he's a sick fuck got me thinking, okay, he might do something outragous. As for Nagito, I've been listening to "Joe Gacy: Love is Blind" theme and it's such a perfect way to introduced it and make him the Harbinger of Hope. The idea of this, is because I might ended up pulling the plug of Hope Over Despair group, and let Nagito be on his own. That's also another reason why I change the winners in the tag team match earlier on. The idea of Huey winning is not only planned, but also, I can do a cool entrance for the future. Like a live performance for Cult of Personality.
Before going into the Third Night, I wanted to talk about the crowd shoutouts. I didn't which ones I should do a shout out, and maybe possible characters to come to the next Patterson Classic Match. But I never done a crowd shoutouts for the Third Night is that I don't know who I wanted to have a shoutout. So I did this show without a crowd shoutout.
Night 3
The muscial one. This is something I wanted to do ever since I made PWA. A third love of mine is musical, which is funny. Because my third love is also the third night. Another reason why I wanted a third night is the play on the Three Acts. And the Championship are the Third Acts. Don't expect a Four Nights or another Third Night for next year, since I wanted to go back to a traditional two night event. I had a hard time on coming up for the stage design for the first two nights, but this night, it was easy. I'm in France, so Notre Dame for obvious reasons. And everything seem to click for this night.
Another thing about this night, is that I introduced the new title designs. And the reason why each champion had to be risen is because the original stage design that each podium have a stage door for the champion to rise with a royal throne, but scrap it and put it in the middle instead.
The opening video package is something that was made up, because the Bells of Notre Dame was meant for an entrance prologue for either Eren or ASTA, and was meant to be Attack on Titan: The Last Titan theme, but I wanted to go all in with the whole presentation. So I made the Bells of Notre Dame song cover by Jonathan Young have to be the one that open the show, with a few nixed lyics and editing. I want the opening package to tell a story of the Arc, the Champions before entering Notre Dame. Even the pyro is something I wanted to do for this event, with the final lyrics matching the pyro. The last Dame yell with the pyro show is like the Bells of Notre Dame had risen for the show to being.
The opening contest is always the King and Queen Championship Match. This is meant to be a straight forward mixed tag team match with ASTA and Noelle winning. But I have entertain the idea of Akemi and Andrew winning with help from Gino, since he too is a rich boy, and standing 6'4", he could be the heavy for the Global Economy. But I decided to held this all back, and just have a fun night, since we're all in the third act. So let's have fun. Plus, for belts that were originally meant to be like a last minute introduction from last year's Dreamwork but turn into this year, I like how it turned out.
Ninny and Noel were always meant to win the World Tag Team Champions, even with a possible card change, they had to win the belts here. Because they had been here ever since the Pilot. And I always love the idea of these two Bad Brit Bitches being tag champions is like the endgame goal. Whether they would had beaten the American Death Scythes or Lumity, they were gonna win it here. I had thought on having Lumity retaining but later on, it will reveal why I want them to win it instead. As for gear, there were two ideas for Lumity. I went with the original first idea of having them dressed up as Mona and Fischl from Genshin Impact, which another thing, a Genshin Impact was meant to be in the Women's Patterson Classic but favor nostaglic instead, and there so many to choose, so I didn't went with them. As for the second entrance idea is the prologue pair dancing with different couples of all sexes, wearing a flower inspired Pride flags, and yes, Cis couple will be present with the female wearing the pink and the men wearing the blue. But the reason why I drop that idea is the theme song choice. I was gonna go with "Fandango: Pena Flamenca" but I don't know about it, since it have a Spain tune. But I went with a safer option, the cosplay inspired theme. Do I regret on not doing that? Of course, because it's a cool idea and a show that have so many muscial prologues? You got to go all in with an idea. I found it funny that a pair that I have no overall plans is part of Wrestle Festival, getting a great entrance while competing against a team that I have faith ever since I saw them. Plus, without Burn the Witch and PWA magical girl killers, I wouldn't have an idea to write the Wicked Magical Girl series on WebNovel.
Back at being a musical night, I really went overboard with this one, since this was originally meant to be the only one with a musical number. And since we're in France, I have two perfect idea songs to represent the challenging tag teams, and these were planned ideas from the start of the Arc. "The Mob Song" for Animals Brutality, and "Do You Hear the People Sing?" for CENSORED, are perfect for their representation. One song is about being afraid of the Beast, and the Beast are the Dragons. And other is about being ruled over by tyrants, so they rebel against the tyrants. Throughout the match, I had been arguing to myself that CENSORED got to be the next Tag Team Champions, but I had entertain the thoughts of Animals Brutality or even the Fairy Dragons winning the match. So this is where I got myself stuck, since all three are possible storylines. But I didn't care much, since I finally got to do these prologue entrances, and I'll work with what I get. As for the Fairy Dragons entrance? It was simple, with Gajeel mocking Adam while Laxus is mocking the "bitches" trope where he's the playboy who can pull them in without even trying.
The next match, is something I wanted to talk about the most, but it is worth it. But first, even I'll admit that the prologue and entrances is over doing it. So I had gone mad with power here, I'll admit to that.
Here's a thing about Junko's entrance with the Cruella de Vil song, it was supposed to be last year's Festival entrance. It was meant to show off the Ultimate Fashionista, even down to her ring attire where she have red color theme and skeleton theme. A fur coat with boots, gloves, and hat, meant to be Junko is skinning a dog. So this entrance and attire was meant to be last year's, so I kept it in the back of my mind, and Junko with the Diamond Championship, which I believe she doesn't actually wears it and took the diamond ring quite literally.
Now speaking of special entrances, Marin wasn't gonna get one. It was only meant to be Akko with the Final Countdown that's meant to honor two of the only people that can make the entrance special; Bryan Danielson and Gob Bluth of Arrested Development which both the burgundy colors and magician designs are tribute to both. Also, I originally was gonna have Danganronpa's Himiko Yumeno, to play homage to the very first two Magical Girls; Atsuko Kagami and Sally Yumeno. And Junko's Cruella de Vil. But Ruby is getting the Bullet Kingdom payoff after, so I gotta give Marin something. And I didn't. For months, I have no entrance theme for Marin, while all three got something. And I believe Marin original attire idea was gonna be Tsumugi Shirogami with a complete disrobbing into a brassiere, trunks and boots. I came up with the Hellfire, which is something I keep wondering to myself on why do I want this to be Marin's entrance? Until I realized that Marin Is that impossible girlfriend that everyone wanting and lusting over. So making Marin the Esmeralda while everyone around here is the Frollo. Another fun fact, this entrance choice was last call. I had spent all night on coming up what to use in the lyrics, and the imagery. The entrance song, that wasn't last call. That was planned theme for her to us, all year, regardless who she was competing with. I think I heard the "Popular" song from ECCW, I could be wrong since I heard Veronika Vice with a tag team call the Veronikas, and they use this song as their entrance video. I was trying to find it, but there no such video, so it might be a complete accident on finding this song years ago. And thinking Marin coming out to it, it has to be her entrance song.
Like I said about Atsuko entrance, it's meant to pay tribute to both Bryan Danielson and Gob Bluth. But the Sasuke Special is meant to play on the very first match between Ruby and Akko at the Pilot. And when coming up to this match, Akko was a last minute call, because it was meant to be Rias Gremory to be the fourth, but since I'm seeing a noticable pattern, I went with Akko. To remind myself that these two were here from the Pilot, and I wanted them to have a special moment for this match, and this night. So if I was the picking a match to be the most overblown budget wise, it would be this one.
So after the Rooster Teeth controversy, I had to put something together for Team RWBY. Though I didn't want Team RWBY to be a group, like going back to the beginning. That's where I got the idea. Looking back on how Ruby and Team RWBY was originally meant to be the heels, I thought to myself, let's go back then. But I didn't want Blake, Weiss or Yang to be in Ruby's group. Looking back at Ruby's journey, it's quite odd on how much it felt planned but really, it didn't a year ago. Now, a year long plan with the Bullet Vignettes where they're all Papa Roach songs. These vignettes are how Ruby sees everything, and recall the" On The First" Vignettes where DENJI mentioned that there's a girl in Texas had been feed by drugged up cookies. It hit me there. Seeing how all three members of Team RWBY have turned heel, it's Ruby turn but with an unplanned yet planned moment. Here's another reason on why Papa Roach songs, it's because that when everyone felt like they're leaving RWBY with so many bridges being burned down, so Ruby Rose herself wanting to burn it all down to the ground. Plus, remember watching The Judgmental Critter video of the moment where she said about if Monty would stay with Rooster Teeth, and I recall a creepypasta "Abandoned by Disney", I still remember the ending of that story, where Mickey written; Abandoned by God. Hearing that, if Monty would leave RT and RWBY, to Ruby Rose, it does feel like she had been abandoned by her God. All of this had been planned before V9 airs, and seeing Ruby in a downward spiral in V9, I have to double down to it.
So here's something about the Bullet Kingdom. Ninny Spangcole and Noel Niihashi, aren not the original tag team I wanted to be in the group. If you look at everything carefully, it was leading up to be Kallen and Yoko instead of Salem. The final image was that both Kallen and Yoko, dressing as Blake and Yang, pulling off their wigs, and that's why they weren't involve for Night 1, because I didn't know what to do with them afterwards, since they fit the gun motif but not the image. So I traded them for Ninny and Noel instead, since I wanted the image of having Ruby as Diamond Champion, Loona holding the Memorial Intercontinental Championship, and Salem holding up the World Tag Team Championship. I want a dominant female group. On a side note, both Noel and Ninny do match Blake and Yang hairs, so I didn't have to try that hard. Plus, membering back at the Final Warfare stipulation of disbanding, this is why. So I can get Kallen and Yoko out of that group in order to favor the Bullet Kingdom, but I didn't went through with it and favor Salem instead. Speaking of revealing members, Loona had always been the planned idea to have in the group. Even her finisher, "Pyrobolum" is Latin for "Shotgun", at least that's what Google Translation said, and I liked the sound of the Pyrobolum, so I kept it. So throughout the entire year, I had been giving you all a hint on who's gonna be in the group, at least the first person I had thought up to be part of the Bullet Kingdom.
The Franchise Championship. I think this was originally meant to be a squash match, but I turn it into a competive match instead. And it's because of that change, I had an idea title run for a potential Festival match next year. So not much to say about this match, since this is the least talk about match. Even with the Demon Slayer Corp returning, I don't really have anything. But I did want Tanjiro to come out with them, but I save their return later one.
I rarely talked about the Men's World Championship, because there was no real plan on Eren dropping the World Championship, any time of the year. If there was, Summer Stampede where Joey winning it. But I didn't went with it. I think I made Eren into a fucking killer throughout the year, it's quite impossible to see him losing to anyone. So Naruto as a challenger, was something on the air call and he wasn't supposed to compete in the match itself, even though he was the number one contender, but Naruto was gonna give Goku his title match instead. This was before Christain Cage and Killswitch cash in from AEW: World's End spot, but I'm glad I did went with the Eren vs. Naruto match, because I have so much fun writing this match. Part of me, does wish I could go with the match with Goku, but I wanted to see Eren compete against Naruto a bit more. The final pillar of the Shonen Jump that Eren beaten. Luffy from the first Global Warfare. Ichigo from Imperial Crown. And Goku, twice, which I was gonna make it around that Goku can beat Eren like how Shawn Michaels can beat the Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. Sine Goku is used on winning in the end, where evil is defeated and good wins. To me, having Eren Jaeger as my Men's World Champion is been the best thing, since I always have fun writing all of his matches. And making him that unstoppable killing machine that show no remorse nor humanity towards anyone. And this match was meant to be shorter, but I had remind myself on some Japanese wrestling, so I kept writing as much as I could. And having Eren coming out with a Star Wars' First Order speech with his Darth Vader inspired theme, you noticed that I never once let Eren hold up the Championship up high during the entrance, but he held the rapier lightsaber instead. To Eren, he doesn't care about the World Championship, he wants war and blood, and he'll make anyone to go through him if you wanted the Championship that badly.
Like I said, I wanted Luffy to be that challenger to Eren, and even winning it. Since Eren have one hell of a run as the World Champion. I even have the idea of making Luffy a Franchise Champion, but I favor his match with Eren more until Summer Stampede. So yeah, Eren losing to Luffy is a planned idea as our new World Champion. And even if Eren vs. Luffy didn't happen at the Festival, it could still happen if Team Luffy won. But it wasn't meant to be.
Now it's time to talk about the triple threat main event, and yes, this is the main event of the overall events. I wanted Usagi to have a swan song match. And the entrances, like Marin, Marinette wasn't planned on getting one. And the Moon Pride is meant to be longer, but cut it down to TV size. So I let Marinette to have the prologue entrance, and introducing a new theme. And I wanted Marin to sing Asuna down to the ring by using Amalee version of Crossing Field, which is also Marin's dub voice actress. And Marinette have a singer as hers too, so having Verosika Mayday is gonna sing her intro song too. I didn't have anyone under Moon Pride, but I think it was gonna be by Franchouchou from Zombie Land Saga, but as I'm writing this, now I wish it could had been B-Komachi from Oshi no Ko. All three have something very cultural, but Marinette was gonna come out in her simple French flag attire while Asuna was meant to be the Musketeer attire, with Marin and Komichi dressing up for the Three Musketeers. But change it to Marie Antoinette, while Marinette got the Musketeer outfit, to represent a champion to the French people. Usagi gear, that have always been the planned idea.
Now I had been going through idea, after idea, after idea, for the Asuna vs. Usagi match. For Asuna, she got both Blake and Weiss' roles since Weiss is meant to be Usagi last opponent in PWA. So this match is something I had to come up with, and the triple threat was never the overall plan till Horror's Eve. Usagi is always been the Queen of Anime, and have nothing left to prove. Marinette is that young hungier challener, and wanting it all. And Asuna, the only character who clings on to the Championship like it was her only moment under the spotlight. All this started with the Diamond Championship. Asuna introduce it but was drop out of it for a triple threat match. Usagi started her PWA path from a triple threat match, and competed for Diamond Championship, either her original swan song or the Patterson Classic. Marinette won and beaten both in some form, and even though she lost it, she have gain a lot more from it. All three have the diamond connection which turn into the World Championship.
Closing Thoughts
But there is another reason why this Wrestle Festival is called the Third Act. Because like Usagi, I feel like I had came to an end of PWA. Every year is like that. Whenever I feel like ending it, there's still something new to it that brings me back to it. That's why the Summer Stampede is important, because it was the crosspaths I meet. End PWA with Luffy winning, and Usagi having her swan song? Or continue on, to see the next horizon of PWA? That's also another reason why it is called the All In Arc. All In, is nothing more but a reminder to myself. The Arc title isn't something for a tournament. It was meant to stare back at me. Even though both Balto Grey, and the Wicked Magical Girl series had been taking my time, PWA is still a place where ideas can inspired me on creating more.
There were times, throughout the year, I just wanted to say; "There will be no more PWA events." Because I'm burned out, and been working overtime on it. And with the other two projects, maybe three in 2024, I feel like like I had given everything I have for this series. So right now, I'm currently on working on the card index, since I wasn't too sure on what might be on the Festival for next year. I got some matches idea, and some reshuffle on some matches into different Events. And as a joke, I'll pull a Tony Khan by introducing a new Championship. The PWA Filler Championship. Or not, since that's is meant to be like my Hardcore Division or something to waste time on. But it might not happen overall, just something I'm point out.
Speaking of Championships, there were plans that that was I wanted both Franchise and Diamond Championship matches to main event the previous Nights, hence why the musical number doesn't have to be so overblown in Night Three.
Now that I have, maybe enough fuel in the tank for one more Wrestle Festival. But no matter what happen, it's still an adventure. Plus, so close on breaking the million words mark, it's something I wanted to break. So that's something for me to do. A goal. A goal for PWA to break. And with that, PWA is Forever
Thank you for another year of PWA
