Yes I may be milking all these out, but I wanted to make it up to you guys. I want to get onto Season 3 as soon as possible. But there are gonna be chapters in the winter (time jump), but only 3 or 4. I think, don't quote me on that. But it'll only be key points to the story. And these ones are gonna be key to Callie's character development and her development with other characters as well. But anyway, onto the next one.
Disclaimer I don't own The Walking Dead, just my ocs and plotlines.
Callie's POV
The group was waiting for them in the sitting room while Jeremy was washing the blood off her face.
"You want to talk about it?" Jeremy coaxes her and she squeezes her eyes shut. Flashes of Tony sliding down the wall, gasping for air as blood spills out of his mouth, his shirt soaking in blood, and Tommy's head exploding appear and she snaps them open.
"You're not going anywhere." Tommy's voice echoes.
"Callie?" Jeremy was looking at her in concern.
"I killed two. Possibly three people last night." She whispers and he went quiet. "I'm a monster." She sobs, tears gathering in her eyes making it hard to see.
"You're not. You had no choice." Jeremy soothes her, hugging her tightly.
She shakes her head, pulling away from him. "You don't even know what happened."
He smiles gently at her. "I don't need to." She smiles at him. "Come on. The others are waiting."
She stares at him. "What about the blood?" She asks him.
"I've been cleaning it up for an hour." He points out to her concerned and she frowns. "Are you sure you're okay?"
She nods her head. "I will be."
The pair head out and walk into the sitting room, where everyone was waiting patiently, apart from Shane, who was impatiently waiting.
"About time." He mutters.
"Enough." Rick snaps immediately at his friend. Rick was looking at her with concern. But she just smiles at him, she has to be okay.
"Looking after your girl now, Rick?" Shane taunts and she looks confused.
Well, everyone does, apart from Lori and Shane, Carol and Josie.
"What are you on about?" Rick asks him.
"Well, you both have been acting cosy recently. In corners, alone together."
Rick is frustrated by his friend causing mayhem once again. The whole group was so confused and looking between herself, Rick, Shane and Lori needing answers.
"That's what you've been gossiping about?" Callie laughs, oh this was childish. And she was one of the youngest people in the room.
"It's no secret that you're close with Rick-" Lori starts.
She ghostly feels a hand on her arm. "You're not going anywhere."
"Dad?" Carl asks, looking between Callie and his father upset.
"No, Carl. Go upstairs." Rick denies it. He was getting angry and clearly wanted to tell everyone the truth.
Jeremy was pissed off, now was not the time for this. But Shane always wants theatrics, and is trying to get people on his side. Daryl was waiting by the door, looking at her concerned. He knew the truth too because she told him.
She felt like she was going to be sick. She sees blood. Well, a dead Tony standing by the door, blood all over his shirt and she closes her eyes. Everyone's voices was starting to muffle, and her breathing was heavy. Breathe. You can do it. Just breathe.
"Callie can't even speak right now. She's so guilty." She came back to Shane muttering those words and that was the last straw for her.
"We're siblings!" She screams and the room falls silent. Shane, Lori, Carol and Josie look shocked. Well everyone does. They weren't expecting that. Only Glenn, Daryl, and Jeremy were okay with the information.
"Wha-what?" Shane asks, looking between the two skeptically. "That's impossible, I've known Rick for years."
"Well, it is possible. Our parents gave me up for adoption when I was born. So there was no chance for you to meet me. So there, the big scandal is out. But we want to talk about cheating? I can." Callie challenges him and the room tenses. Lori looks terrified, and Shane looks quickly at Rick, who clenches his jaw. Oh he knows about it all.
"What about Randall?" Shane asks, changing the subject.
Rick explains everything while she is sat down, looking at nothing in particular.
"We couldn't just leave him behind." Rick points out to Shane who argued about leaving him for dead. "He would've bled out, if he lived that long."
Rick and herself share a look. He would've turned. But she's still on the fence about that. But she's wary of the warning.
"It's gotten bad in town." Glenn adds and Maggie tries to grab his shoulder to support him but he shrugs it off.
"What do we do with him?" Andrea asks, looking between Shane, Rick and herself. She was expecting an answer.
Hershel walks in the room then, stopping Rick's speech, drying his hands on a towel. "I repaired his calf muscle as best I can, but he'll probably have nerve damage. Won't be on his feet for at least a week."
"When he is, we give him a canteen, take him out to the main road, and send him on his way." Rick explains to the group and some looked skeptical while others stayed quiet.
"Isn't that the same as leaving him for the walkers?" Andrea asks, looking at Rick skeptically.
Rick looks at her. "He'll have a fighting chance." He assures her and she nods.
Shane shakes his head. "Just gonna let him go? He knows where we are." He argues.
"He was blindfolded the whole way here. He's not a threat." Rick bites back.
Shane scoffs. "Not a threat?" He repeats back. "How many of them were there? You killed five of their men, you took one of them hostage, but they just ain't gonna come looking?"
Some of the others looked like they were on Shane's side. Mainly Damien, Harriett, Summer, Andrea, T-Dog.
"They left him for dead. No one is looking." Rick snaps.
"We should still post a guard." Andrea says and everyone was in agreement.
"He's out cold right now, will be for hours." Hershel explains to the group.
But clearly that was the last straw for Shane.
"You know what? I'm gonna go get him some flowers and candy." Shane scoffs and starts walking towards the door for dramatic effect. "Look at this, folks... we're back in fantasy land."
Hershel steps forward. "You know, we haven't even dealt with what you did at my barn yet. Let me make this perfectly clear, once and for all..." He points a finger at Shane who remains silent. "This is my farm. Now I wanted you gone. Rick and Callie talked me out of it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. So do us both a favor... Keep your mouth shut."
Shane looks silent for a moment and Callie could tell he wanted to say something back, but he must have realised that everyone was on Hershel's side, fed up of the drama he was causing. He stormed out of the house.
Hershel sighs, clearly stressed from everything that has happened.
Rick looks at the expecting group, still waiting for a verdict on Randall.
"We're not gonna do anything about it today. Let's just cool off."
Everyone separated and she walked out of the house, walking to the stables to clear her head.
All she can see are the men she killed. She couldn't get the images out of her head.
She realised that you got to the stables.
"You're not going anywhere." The voice whispers again and she clenches her hands. Stop. You had to do it.
"Callie?" She turns to see Josie, holding her stomach. She was glowing considering the circumstances that they were in. She looked beautiful. "Are you okay?"
She nods her head, unbelievably. But Josie didn't accept that answer. She stepped forward and took her hand in hers. She couldn't stop the tears from flowing.
"Tell me what's wrong." Josie begs, a hand going to her face, and the other holding her hand.
She knew she had to tell her. They didn't know that she killed people. They think it's Rick but only a few saw her with blood on her face. Josie didn't see her, only after. She had no idea that blood was on her hands.
"I killed three people." She whispers to her.
She could see the shock in Josie's eyes, before it turned to disgust and judgement. Her hands let hers go and she stepped back.
"What?"
"I had to kill them. I-I had no choice. There was so many of them. I killed one, his name was Tony. I shot him in the stomach. Then another guy, I couldn't see him. I- I never even met him. Then there was Tommy. He grabbed me and I pulled the trigger. I- I killed them." She rambles on and every time she described one kill, Josie looked even more disgusted if that was even possible. "It's not even the worst part." She just stayed silent, letting her continue. "I was willing to kill all of them."
Josie put a hand to her mouth. "You're a monster." She murmurs before running out of the stables, leaving her standing there.
A Week Later
She had been ignoring Josie's attempts to talk to her after the incident. Clearly she must have had a change of heart. But she was pissed off, she had no choice but to kill those men, the only ones knew what they were capable of were the people with her. Her brother, Glenn, and Hershel. And Randall.
Randall had a guard, which was to calm Shane down a bit. There have been arguments all week between her, Rick, and Shane. Mainly her and Rick trying to calm Shane down. So, to compromise with Shane, they decided to have a guard, on rotation of the shed, where Randall was healing for the past week. Then they had a meeting to take Randall out 18 miles, blindfolded in the trunk, listening to music so he couldn't hear anything, and leave him there. The only exception was to give him a little knife, and keep him tied up so he can get himself free. Which eased Shane a bit.
The ones on duty have been a mixture between Shane, T-Dog, Andrea and even Daryl and Jeremy have stepped up.
Beth was awake, Hershel has been staying with her. Things with the Greene's have been getting better, slightly. Hershel and Noa have made up, him seeing sense about the walkers bonded their relationship. Jimmy has been worried sick about his girlfriend which Damien and Richie were trying to keep him busy by asking about chores. The help around the farm has increased, pulling their weight. Ever since herself, Rick and Glenn went and saved him, they bonded a lot. They feel like they actually have a place here, even though they haven't moved in the house.
Things with herself and Lori have mended... slightly. She has been avoiding her, clearly guilty about the accusations. But her and Carl have gotten closer, knowing that he has an aunt made him excited.
Rick and Shane have taken Randall 18 miles out. While she was planning on making runs into town to prepare for winter. They didn't have to worry about food much, due to the cattle on the farm, chickens, but they can go hunting too due to the farmland. But she wanted to be safe, she wanted to get enough canned foods in the pantry to avoid going out during the winter.
Glenn was with her, in the RV.
"What's the verdict?" He asks her.
"Go into town as often as we can for the next two weeks. Grab as much as we can, medicine wise, food wise, clothes. Probably have to go out further." She mutters and he nods his head.
"To Peachtree City?" Glenn suggests and she hums.
"Yeah, start training people to go on runs."
She hears someone entering the RV.
"I'll be up for it." Jeremy says and she nods her head.
She was looking at the closest supply buildings. They're gonna need to stock up on everything as fast as they can. It's already starting to get cold, which means it's officially fall, which is worrying Callie. They're behind on runs.
"When do you want me to go out?" Glenn asks her.
"Day after tomorrow. Start raiding through houses as well as stores. I'll talk with Rick when he gets back."
Josie walks in the RV then and she tenses, she knew that Jeremy and Glenn were looking between them, wondering what has happened.
"Can we talk?" She asks, her voice cracking.
Callie got up and looked at her dead in the eyes. "No." She storms out of the RV and goes to the house. She needed to talk with Hershel about the runs.
Noa's POV
Herself, Maggie and Lori were in the kitchen. Maggie was preparing a meal for Beth while Lori was cutting up the chicken while she was putting things away.
"Rick say anything to you about Glenn when they got back from town?" Maggie asks Lori, who was carving up the meat, but by bit and putting it on Beth's plate.
She shook her head. "Just that it had gotten pretty bad."
"What about Callie?" She asks her and Lori stills for a second before shaking her head.
That was probably a mistake on her part. Has she not apologised to Callie about the accusations she and Shane had about her and her husband? She needed to. For the sake of the group because the tension was keeping people on edge.
Every time Lori was in the house, and Callie enters, well Callie leaves. Usually they have group dinners, every night so far. But Callie hasn't been present for any of them. Jeremy has stopped coming at this rate, to keep her company.
"He's not the same. Says he froze. Blames me. Says I got inside his head." Maggie informs the pair and she was shocked.
Glenn said those things? She couldn't believe it.
"He came back - that's what matters. Men have to do certain things- You know that- and they're either gonna blame the little woman as the reason they do 'em or the reason they don't." Lori explains and Noa frowns at that. Maggie just stays silent, finishing up loading the tray for Beth. "I'll tell you something-what happens out there, happens out there. And we - we're just trying to keep it together till they get back."
Maggie shakes her head. "Things were good. Maybe I-
"Glenn's a big boy. He makes his own choices, and then you-" Lori stops herself before looking at Maggie. "Do you have anything to apologise for?" She shakes her head. "Tell him to man up and pull himself together."
Maggie and herself just laugh. Lori is a good woman.
"Just don't say 'man up'." Lori adds, smirking, a little twinkle in her eyes. "It never goes well."
Maggie reaches to grab the tray. "Let me just get this to Beth."
Lori quickly stops her. "You go on- I got it." She carries the tray to Beth's room.
Maggie nods her head and heads towards the door.
"What are you doing?" Noa asks her sister.
"Going to talk to Glenn. And say 'man up'." She jokes and Noa laughs before Maggie leaves the house, leaving just Noa in the kitchen.
The door opens and in walks in Callie.
"Have you seen Hershel?" She asks her.
"He went to tend the field this morning, with Jimmy. Why? Everything okay?" Noa asks her, she notes the piece of paper in her hand.
"Everything is okay. A list for the runs, just needed to speak to him about anything else." She explains.
More supply runs? She thought they were fine but it must be tight if Callie is putting lists together.
Just then Lori re-enters the room and sees Callie, Callie clams up and immediately goes to the door again.
"Wait." Lori calls and she immediately stops. "I want to apologise for my accusations."
Callie turns to her then. She looked tired. Noa was looking between them, she better stay just in case. Not just in case there might be a fight, but because of Beth. She can't leave Lori look after her sister, it's not fair on her.
"You mean when Shane accused me of sleeping with your husband?" Callie retorts and Lori purses her lips before nodding.
"Yes. I'm so sorry. I- I didn't know Shane would do that in front of everyone."
Callie nods her head. "I get it. But thank you... for the apology. Shane is..." she pauses. "Shane. He likes drama. But I want to get along with you, a sister in law relationship." She smiles.
Lori smiles and hugs her. "I'm so sorry again."
A very heavy chapter. I didn't include other stuff because it'll be unnecessary scenes for you guys. So doing it during the little time jump is what I thought was best. In my opinion, Randall was the best and worst for the group.
