"I just have one last question before you leave, Penelope."

The younger woman cocked her head to one side once more, an open expression still on her face as she nodded. "And I might have one last answer for you, Miranda."

She cleared her throat before looking at the newest collection that had been released. Miranda hadn't shown it to Penelope, as she hadn't wanted to tip her hand and reveal that there was more than one collection from this design house just yet. "Do you happen to have a colleague named Emily?"

Penelope gave her a startled look, reacting almost as if Miranda had slapped her. "Why would you ask a question like that?"

Miranda shrugged as she dangled her reading glasses between her fingers, closing the file folder that contained the newest collection. "I couldn't help but notice that you treated my Emily as if she was an old friend, and that caught my attention, seeing as how you have never met her before today."

"But I did recognize her, from the reception following the opening of my play. It's easy to be nicer to people when you have a small connection with someone, after all."

Miranda was surprised that someone as astute as Penelope hadn't picked up on her lie, but that also pleased her no end. "I suppose that you do have a point there. I find myself in the same position when at events with my colleagues, some of whom are only familiar faces in the crowd. It was a pleasure speaking with you today, and I hope that the information that you provided will help us out."

"If it does, I want to see a final copy of the article that you print, and I would love to be cited in it, as well."

"You certainly don't ask for much," Andrea said with a small laugh as she got to her feet, showing Penelope out the door. As Miranda waited for her to return, she looked over the notes that she had taken, making certain to add a connection between the Emily and the Penelope collection, since there was an obvious parallel between the two women in real life. She just wished that she had a last name for this Emily, since there were even more of them out there than there were Penelope's. "Well, that brings us a little closer to solving this mystery."

"Oh?"

"Yes. Two women, who both work for the FBI, have collections made in homage of them. We just need to figure out who this Emily is, and how she connects with the bigger picture. I mean, I think we can both assume that Penelope has a teammate named Emily, just based on the way that she reacted to your question. So, there's our start, and we can go from there. I still have a few hours free until I need to be back at the paper. What do you say to having a working lunch, and we can figure out a little bit more of this puzzle?"

That idea pleased Miranda to no end, though she didn't want to quite probe in that current moment, and so she nodded as Andrea took a seat across from her once more. "I believe that I have some time to spare you. You'll just have to excuse the fact that I'll also be working on Runway, since I still have an issue to put to bed."

"I would expect nothing less. Emily!"

Miranda chuckled a little at hearing Andrea call for her assistant in the exact tone of voice that Miranda normally used, and from the stormy look on the younger woman's face as she entered the office, she knew that Emily hadn't failed to make that association, either. "Can I help you?" she asked archly as she looked down at Andrea, though there was no real ire in her voice.

"Well, I was thinking, since you found our random Penelope Garcia on just a picture and first name, that you might like to help us track down the Emily of the BAU. Or was I wrong in thinking that?"

A pleased smirk curved across Emily's lips as she shrugged. "I suppose that you could twist my arm enough to do that. What do you need?"

"A laptop. I'll make notes on paper while you do the internet legwork. Miranda will supervise, since she also has to work on the next issue of Runway. Would that be acceptable to you?"

"I believe that it will be, yes." Emily turned around and went back into the outer office. In moments, she returned with her laptop, taking a seat next to Andrea. "All right, where am I to start?"

Andrea looked up, meeting Miranda's eye and giving her a small wink before turning her attention to Emily. "Well, we are fairly certain that Penelope is colleagues with the Emily this collection was created around. So, I think the first place to look would be Google, and see if their names are linked in any way in the news. I mean, this unit that Penelope is attached to is quite prestigious, so they must have been in news at some point."

Emily nodded as she began to clack away on the keyboard in front of her. "Well, it looks like you were on to something, Andy," she muttered a few minutes later as she began to open a few links in new tabs.

"Care to share with the rest of the class?"

Miranda watched a bright flush sweep across Emily's cheeks as she nodded. "I think that the full name of the woman that you're looking for is Emily Prentiss. There were two cases in particular that she was involved in that I think are significant."

"And why would that be?" Miranda suddenly asked, intrigued as to why Emily had said that.

Emily glanced up at her and shrugged a little. "Um, there are two cases that took place here in the City, where the BAU was involved. Both were deadly, it appears, too."

"Oh?" Even Andrea sounded intrigued as she leaned over and tried to look at Emily's screen, clearly wanting to get the details early, before Miranda could hear them, and she chuckled as Emily scooted her chair away a little, turning her laptop so that neither of them could catch a peek. "Come on, Emily! Give us the details!"

"Fine. Do you remember that weird bombing back in 2007?"

Andrea shook her, while Miranda felt her eyes widen a little. "That occurred around the same time that there was a rather large delegation of dignitaries in the City, yes?"

Emily nodded. "Yes. The BAU was working a tangential case, and were caught up in the crossfire when the cases converged. The head of the New York City field office was killed as a result."

"And the second case?" Andrea asked breathlessly as she wrote out her notes. It was clear that this new piece of information had suddenly made the mystery all the more interesting to her.

"In 2013, the BAU was working another case here, and it ended with their section chief being murdered by the person they were after. There are scant details as to that case, since it wasn't a dramatic murder, not like a bombing, but it is rather sad that a woman lost her life."

"And was this Emily involved in both cases?"

Emily shrugged. "I can't tell, honestly. There isn't a roster of people involved in it. But I will look up more information on this Erin Strauss, since she seemed to be the section chief for the unit the entire time between the first case here and the second."

Miranda nodded, feeling like this was a good way to go with things, and Andrea appeared to think so as well, as she took yet more notes. "All right, Andrea, Emily, if you want to divide and conquer, as they say, I think that you'll have it well in hand. Though, given Andrea's investigative skills, I might have her look more into that 2013 case. I think that since it's the freshest case, that might be the best place to start." Both women nodded, and Miranda smiled as she settled into work on the next issue, knowing that they were at least one step closer to solving this little mystery.
