Muy pequeño and Eternal Candle
Peter has finally recovered from his slight touch with death at the hands of Iceberg and learns that Mark turned himself into an artificial mutant for him… Do not own Spectacular Spider-Man.
At the Parker Home…
Peter was finally awake after all those long days of healing from the hyperthermia he endured, resting up in bed while others tried to take care of him.
Aunt May made sure Peter had everything he needed while he recovered while his best friends pitched in as well. He made sure he stayed in bed, nice and warm, made sure food was brought to him, took his medicine, brought his homework by his request since he hated to be behind, and kept him updated on what was going on since he was little nap. They started with little stuff so Peter wouldn't get stressed and get a nasty fever again, new restaurants, assignments, people who were visiting at the hospital while he slept, the bugle checking up on their photographer, Jameson blaming Spider-man.
Then… came the talk of the newest… hero.
Apparently, what happened in the lab didn't go unnoticed by the media. Some Fiery hotheaded hero made the scene to save everybody and turn up the heat for Iceberg. The news was already going daft for 'Molten Man' as the next big hero as they ate up his origin story as a teenager who got into an accident in the lab and got a hot super armor that allowed him to spew flames, risking everything to save his boyfriend. Liz was shocked to hear the news of her brother's recently acquired powers, as was everyone else. Dr. Warren assured everyone that despite there not being a cure, Mark's mutation can be controlled, and he can be trained to use his abilities wisely.
'With great power comes great responsibility.'
Many were suspicious of how this happened, and many suspected the Connors's hand in this…
The only person who didn't know about Mark's rebirth as Molten Man was his beloved.
"You- you were mutated?" Peter gasped as he held his hand, seeing the other becoming the armor, "You did this… for me?"
They were alone, so he could tell him the truth without complications. He could tell him everything without fear of getting caught. Pete knows how to keep a secret after all.
"Of course, I did," Mark answered with confidence in his voice.
He did not regret what he did.
"Mark, I', s-."
"Don't. I didn't regret what I did and would do it again in a heartbeat. After all, with Great Power-."
"Comes Great Responsibility."
Mark then climbed into bed, glad Peter's Aunt May was away to warm him up with cuddles.
"So, what's going to happen in the future?"
Days Later…
Spider-man stood to watch his beloved city, now he was no longer alone in his fight to protect it from all harm.
"So… this is the 'Bruce' you were telling me about. I figured he'd be a more... friendly-looking since you often talk to him." Molten Man commented, leaning on the gargoyle.
"Yeah, but he is a great listener. Plus, he laughs at all my jokes, isn't that right Bruce?" Spider-man introduced the statue that kept him company.
"My Eternal Candle in the night, let's see what I would see." Peter introduced him to the nickname for his love given.
Molten Man then looked to see the world of lights and marveled at their beauty.
"Muy pequeño… this is beautiful."
"I know, no matter how many times I've seen it, it never gets old."
Soon they heard alarms and explosions from afar!
Looks like duty calls.
"Shall we, Muy pequeño?"
"Let's, my Eternal Candle."
The two were then off to find the bad guys and stop them.
Let all villains fear Spider-Man and Molten Man.
