Peter and Mark are part of an experiment to see how prisoners can escape the vault but soon are met with a trap. Black Cat is there... only to free someone from Peter's Past. Do not own Spectacular Spider-Man…
At Midtown High…
Peter and Harry haven't spoken since the play.
It seemed that Harry held a grudge for the boy who didn't even want to take his place, he only wanted to man the fort, nothing more. But it seemed that Puny Parker messed it up again with his friend, even worse, it happened when Harry was at his lowest and now, he was more of a pariah than ever. Mark and the others told Peter not to fret so much about what happened, despite taking the role, it was Harry's fault for being late. He would have been in trouble with the drama cast anyway for not showing up. Peter saved the show and what's left of Harry's reputation.
"You should be saying thank you to Peter. If not for him, the play would have ended in a flop." Sha Shan Nguyen lightly scolded the ginger, who gave a glare to Peter.
"He took my role." Harry snarled.
"He saved the show. You didn't even show up until it was over." Rand informed, still angry with Harry for cheating.
"But he had no right to-."
"He didn't want to do it. I convinced my Muy pequeño to do it. If you want to give anyone the evil eye, Pegado Idiota, give it to me." Mark defended his boyfriend, who wanted to change the subject for lunch while eating his sandwich.
"So… how have things been going on at the Vault?" Pete voiced, feeling a little uncomfortable that this argument was ongoing.
Gwen smiled at him a little bit since she could really use a break from Harry… her boyfriend… fighting everyone. She wished she could have… but Mark was the one to win his heart and Peter has been bright and cheery ever since. Gwen wanted to be the one to do that, but it looked like she wasn't the one.
It seemed to have worked as the great new hero Molten Man had some big news.
"Yeah, I've been doing pretty great, and Spidey and I have a big project going on over there," Mark answered as everyone was listening to what was going on.
"Where are you and Spidey headed?" Flash wondered.
"We are heading to the vault to test the new defense system," Mark answered then suddenly everyone stopped as crashes were.
"WHAT?!" Liz shrieked.
At the Vault…
"We are in need of testing the combative defense of our Vault to be certain that super-criminals stay in the Vault," Norman informed the worried friends and family.
"So, you are going to use my brother and Spider-man as target practice?! How could you do something this mess up?!" Liz accused the businessman as her parents were with her.
"Now, now, kids, everyone, no one will be hurt. These defense systems are made to be the most effective and the least lethal as possible." Captain Stacy assured everyone while the reporter Jonah was watching Spider-man and Molten Man being taken into their cells for the experiment.
"They will both be compensated. Molten Man will receive a pay rise, and both will have a pizza party once it is over. Both understand the point of this and are to be certain that when the bad guys are put away, they stay that way." Norman informed them, cooly, "The best way to contain an artificial being is to study how they think."
"And won't get hurt?" Liz prodded.
"You have my weird."
"At last, that web-headed menace is behind bars where he belongs." Jonah cheered while the head of police shook his head.
"Jonah, we've been through this, Spider-man and Molten Man are here to test the defense system." He breathed.
"And my brother is not a menace," Liz added.
In the cells...
Mark was stretching as he was getting used to the power controller collar they slapped on him, to see if it worked or not.
Spider-man was checking out his surroundings, seeing the comforts of a prisoner.
"Comfy, not so spacious…" He pointed out before he heard Molten Man chuckle behind him.
"Don't look behind you."
"Behind, Woah! Toilet, toilet in cell… gross."
Mark then laughed at his reaction.
"Seriously, do guards have to watch crooks do their business in front of them? And what about the other prisoners?" The Spider questioned, grossed out at the prospects.
"Hey, at least it's the perfect place for them to make toilet wine."
"Eew!" Spider-man shivered, making Mark laugh harder.
"Alright, you two, enough bantering. Now, prepare for your escape. We need to take note of anything the prisoners could do to bust themselves out of here. The better you do, the better we can prepare, so give it all you got. Afterward, you can be treated to some pizza." The captain answered through the speakers.
"Got it, got it. Just tell Ol' Flathead not to get any ideas. Remember, this is an experiment to benefit everyone." He reminded.
"Tell my familia that I will be fine. I will see you all once in this is over."
"Be careful Mark." Liz pleaded.
"I will."
"Okay, Molten. We still have five minutes to kill before things start to go down. Ready to rest this baby to the max?"
"Hey, I'm all in."
From another monitor…
Someone was watching from the other side.
"Yesss…. My pretties, let's see how much life I get out of you and how much I can take from you…" The squeaky voice cackled as he prepared for the show…
Near the prison, at a checkout point…
This is it… the perfect moment.
Everyone would be so busy with the experiment that Felicia could finally start her biggest heist ever. Her father… he was in there and she was finally going to get him out. He was the best thief in the world, and he didn't deserve to be in that place with the murderers and monsters.
"Hang on, Daddy. I'll get you out. I promise." Black Cat promised then entered the building for her life and others would change forever…
Scarred by what would come and who was truly monstrous.
