Naruto and Yakumo rested in a small grassy clearing a small cave made of limestone and other various minerals was where their spleeping bags and now extinguished fire pit were, the cave hid thesmoke of the fire rather well and the cave shielded them from the elements and other shinobi's eyes as the slept.
Throughout the first day Naruto's plan worked flawlessly using two pairs of fodder shadow clones henged into both of them. He ordered the clones to move about the forest clumsily and obliviously so that they could lure in overeager squads taking their scrolls. All Yakumo and Naruto had to do was tail his clones to catch their bait.
Unfortunately for the duo the two squads that they had gotten with their strategy were teams carrying the same earth scroll that Naruto held sealed into his arm. The two quickly moved on from their encounters until they had run across this oasis in the dead of night after defeating the many giant animals that decided they liked moonlight instead of the bright sun.
"You ready to start our second day Yakumo? I hope we get a scroll cause I can't deal with those giant roaches on why on kami's green earth would their be giant roaches!!" Naruto exclaimed holding both hands to his cheeks and dragging down slightly pulling his skin down as if he were see the creatures in front of him again causing Yakumo to laugh loudly until replying.
"I definitely agree Naruto kun One night is more than enough for inspiration for my creation jutsu." Yakumo stood up patting herself off as she sealed up her sleeping bag while Naruto did the same to his.
The two slowly moves towards the entrance of the cave when suddenly Naruto flinched As the memory of a destroyed clone went through his mind.
'Shit that was close by was that fog that ended the clone?!'
Naruto readied himself unsealing his katana gifted to him by his former sensei Neko the sleek metal gleamed in the sun light its red handle gave off the appearance of the users hands dripped in blood from a Genjutsu sealed into the blade made exclusively by him from the help of Yakumo.
'If I ever wanted to fund a village or become rich I could sell these to shinobi's easily.' The red head thought to himself
Yakumo moved into position beside him still not knowing what the cause for her teammates sudden action was for. "What's going on ru!?
"A enemy squad is about to arrive.. judging from my clones memories their about 3 minutes away they must have a sensory ninja in their squad." Naruto explained to the tall burnette unsealing a paint brush and ink beginning to scribble quick intricate strokes around the surrounding clearing on trees ,rocks and some of the trees.
Yakumo drew a giant crocodile man that stood appearing out of no where saliva dripping from its huge jaws. (Think Batman killer croc like) Yakumo panted slightly at the chakra drain from her technique as she heard the quiet snickers of her prisoners voice.
'Seriously I know she likes horror movies but bringing these things to life is still freaky' Naruto thought to himself as he looked at the towering figure of a monster that belonged in one of Yakumo's horror flicks that she dragged him to see whenever one came out much to his distaste, seeing how his teammate panted Naruto approached her.
"Yakumo are you ok? Naruto began to ask before he was cut off by three ninja's appearing in their clearing.
"You should worry about yourself murderer!" A boy with gray spikey hair with a ninja headband indicating that he was from the land of snow. He was taller than Naruto by about three inches he looked almost familiar to Naruto.
The boys teammates were another boy with curly black hair and a girl with red hair and three green eye marks all were around the same age as the first boy.
"You call me a murderer who is it that you think I killed?" Naruto replied back to the ninja.
"Zugetso Yakamaji you killed him two weeks ago!" The gray haired boy yelled.
Naruto's mind suddenly flashed to the begging face of Zugetso a man that according to himself would of let him survive.
"I see...What is your name?" Naruto asked as he held his blade ready to move at a moments notice.
"Sametso Yakamaji its'll be the last name that you ev—"
"Sametso Yakamaji I respect your ambition for revenge against your brothers killer but if you attack me you will be reunited with him fairly quickly." Naruto said in a flat voice his purple eyes flashing dangerously as he smirked envisioning the many ways his seals would dissable said opponents.
Yakumo stood at the ready beside her giant growling monstrosity the two other Genin beside Sametso looked like they were playing at being brave as they eyed Yakumo from afar. She had honestly only seen this side of Naruto a couple times only when defending her or himself from the villagers early on. A side that was honestly worthy of being called a demon she would never tell him and accepted him despite of it.
"I'm an avenger nothing you say will change what is destined to happen this day's" Sametso wove a couple hand seals "Boil release: steaming murder!" A blast of fog spread across the area dissolving anything it touched moving supringling fast towards Naruto and Yakumo.
"Futon: great break through!" Naruto did the signs for his jutsu with one hand. As a giant violent surge of wind rushed through the clearing causing the acidic fog to dissipate.
Naruto ran forward katana in one hand speed blitzing the two Genin beside Sametso as said ninja jumped backwards just barely avoiding the dangerous tip of the blonde and red head Namikaze's sword his other two friends weren't so lucky as Naruto quickly engaged the surprised girl shinobi as he sliced her thigh with his sword just enough to hobble slightly and hurt her as she reacted moving her head downwards to this new pain that happened faster than she could see Naruto hit her in the chin with the butt of his katana sending her flying back towards Yakumo. Naruto began to to engage with the male Genin who proved to be decent in hand to hand deserving of chunin level however Naruto quickly began to overwhelm the boy whose use of a Kunai against his long blade proved to be his undoing one mistimed block from the enemy and his wrist had a deep cut bleeding decently as Naruto approach with the knockout blow 4 globs of fog appeared aimed at Naruto as Sametso simultaneously performed a substution jutsu with a large Boulder removing his teammate from danger.
"I've got you now the radius of those shots is too much for the speed I've witnessed!" Sametso yelled as his shots were almost to Naruto before a golden red chain shot from Naruto's free hand into the ground 40 yards behind him quickly reeling Naruto out of danger as the acidic blast hit nothing but bedrock.
"You were saying?" Naruto asked with a smirk as the enemy shinobi called Sametso was breathing heavily already he honestly shouldn't have been surprised only about 30 percent of ninja had large enough chakra reserves to throw around multiple advanced elemental jutsu a day especially as a kid those numbers surely were in the 10th percentile.
Naruto chuckled to himself he had to give his parents credit for the genes he possessed.
Yakumo watched as the wounded form of the female enemy squadmate rose to her feet with her Kunai at the ready.
"Damn baka takes all the good fights I wanted to see want crockey could do.." Yakumo whined aloud as she eyed her opponent bristle at her comment in that moment deciding to fight back for her pride.
"Water style: water whip!" A whip of war lashed out at Yakumo who ordered her creation to move in front of her as the whip gave the creature a solid slash across its chest earning a beastly grunt of pain.
Yakumo began moulding her chakra performing hand seals "true life genjutsu: electric shock" The lanky brunette thought about a streak of lightening and said lightening began sparkling around her hands violently.
The enemy female shinobi finished her seals performing another water style jutsu producing a constant jet stream of pressure powerful enough to cut concrete that power was useless if it wasn't aimed correctly Yakumo thanked her year of training with Rin sensei as she quickly dodge her attackers beam of water rolling to the side on the grassy terrain of the clearing throwing her electrified fists forward towards the still shooting stream of water a arc of electricity moved into the water straight into the girls mouth shocking Her violently as she fell to the ground unconscious burnt and twitching.
Standing back up having recovered from his brief battle with Naruto the male enemy shinobi screamed "nooo!" He lauched 4 dozen sets of Kunai and throwing knifes at Yakumo who adeptly dodged most of the deadly weapons.a few managed to cut her fire arms but other than that she was fine. While the last of the shuriken fell towards Yakumo she again moulded her chakra infusing her thoughts she imagined the same storm of weapons shooting back at the enemy shinobi yelling "True life Genjutsu reflection!"
In a poof of smoke the same sets of Kunai and shuriken shot forward towards the surprised boy who moved clumsily to avoid certain death managing to slide behind a thick tree only taking a few blades to his shoulders and two to his legs blood fell from his wounds.
'Crockey flank him from behind I'll shoot blasts of fire towards the tree distracting him' Yakumo mentally intruscted her crocodile man who disappeared in a flash of speed as The Burnette used her technique to bring flames to life throwing balls of exploding flames towards the enemy the explosions knocked up dust from the forest floor obstructing the boys view of her.
'She missed but she has to be planning to attack from the front I'll leave a clone here and try to catch her in...' the enemy thought to himself before he was punched through the tree with great force a green clawed fist catching his cheek perfectly as he skidded to a halt twenty yards away unconscious just like his other teammate.
Naruto turned to look behind him admiring his teammates handiwork before returning his gaze back to Sametso who looked like a cornered dog. "Sametso both of your teammates are out of commission hand your scroll over and you'll escape with your life I won't warn you again!"
Sametso gritted his teeth the smart thing to do would of been to give up his scroll and hope that his two squadmates would awaken in time for them to hunt down weaker squads but the Yakamaji wasn't thinking clearly.
"Never!! You'll die today!!!" Sametso yelled moulding his chakra again as he stood on a rock in the clearing above Naruto.
"Very well!" Naruto said holding up one hand in the dog formation "Kai!"
Before the young Yakamaji could react one of the seals Naruto painted earlier glowed a bright white before exploding a few feet behind where Sametso currently stood causing the gray haired teen to be blown violently forward off his feet as the teen flew he fell directly onto another seal matrix that Naruto had drawn quickly the red head activated the matrix.
Gravity became five times greater for Sametso who could no longer stand as he laid face first in the grassy ground of the clearing struggling to move. Naruto took his time walking up to the downed Genin swirling his sword in his right hand. Naruto crouched before Sametso Yakumo quietly walked up behind the red head ready to act at a moments notice should Sametso have any surprises in store for them.
"Now tell me Sametso which one of you has the scroll and I will spare your life do not defy me I've already been more than lenient I promise I will not hesitate to end you!" Naruto said as he crouched beside the downed teen flashbacks of him shooting Zugetso's ice spike and the man's exploding head shot through his memories.
"Y-you'll have to kill me you bastard!!" Sumetso struggled to say as the pressure from the gravity seal made it a task for him to breathe let alone speak.
Naruto shrugged sighing deeply as he began to unseal his ink and paintbrush from his arm seal. Drawing another seal on the downed Sametso.
"Have it your way this won't be pleasant for you." Naruto said Cooley as he got up his seal was now complete drawn onto the probe back of Sametso.
"Do your worst bastard!"
"I intend to Kai!" Naruto again lifted his hand into the activation seal as Sametso began to howl in pain cracks could be heard indicating that the teens bones were beginning to break from the pressure of 10 times earths gravity.
"You have 10 seconds left before your bones and internal organs will be crushed beyond any hope for repair tell me where the scroll is and you may live!!" Naruto shouted to be heard above the boys screams of pain but the gray headed shinobi refused to budge.
"Never you Bas— click". Samets's prone form seemed to flatten closer to the grounded slightly as blood began to ooze from his mouth ears and eyes.
"Stubborn to the end atleast you didn't beg like your brother that's something you can brag about in the afterlife when you see him." Naruto said calmly beginning to search the flattened shinobi not finding any scrolls.
Yakumo looked on in shock at the ruthlessness of her crush before the chuckling voice of her caged inhabitant rang through her head. 'Seems you aren't the only one who's got a dark side hahahahaha!'
'Shut uppp Ida!!' Yakumo yelled in her mindscape as a slightly open metal door began to close shut before it closed you could briefly see the a horned monster with fangs whose body was that of Yakumo's.
Shaking her head she began to search the girl she had taken down as Naruto was across the clearing searching the boy her construct had knocked out. Finally after what seemed like ten minutes the duo found the scroll of the enemy team and it was exactly the wind scroll that they needed.
Naruto created eight clones transforming four of them into Yakumo as he ordered them to spread out in all directions throwing off any shinobi that could be tailing them as they made their way to the tower that indicated the end of the second exam once you arrived.
The duo hopped along the trees of the forest of death hearing the distant clangs of metal as shinobi's battled throughout the dense greenery. They had been moving towards the tower for the past two hours both not saying much to each other after the fight with Sametso's squad.
Yakumo thought about her prisoner Ida as she hopped and it's increasing presence in her mind it seemed to happen the more she used her canvas ability the locks of the old seal placed by a foreign Genjutsu master at the request of the 4th Hokage after her prisoner had murdered her entire clan was weakening. She should of told the Hokage right away she was a ticking time bomb but Selfishly she knew if she mentioned anything she would be removed from her team perhaps never allowed to be a ninja again and worse to watch her crush continue to move on while she was stuck on the sidelines forced to stay in a compound haunted by the ghosts of her past .
Yakumo shook her head as she hopped along no she wouldn't tell she'd control that demon for as long as she could herself. Naruto hopped along beside his taller teammate not knowing the mental battle she was currently in. His thoughts were on the finals and making a name for himself to finally get out of his parents shadow something Naruto was determined to accomplish to forge his own path.
"Poof poof!" Four of his clones were destroyed as he almost mistimed his jump from the memory feed back. Judging from his memories he saw a purple haired woman around 17 or the same age as kurenai accompanied by a man with grey hair they couldn't have been much older or younger than the woman her wore black glasses and had his hair in a ponytail. Before his clones memories disappeared he was able to make out a white bone like material stabbing into it before it poofed away.
'These guys seem like bad news on a totally different level than that earlier squad.' Naruto thought to himself.
"Yakumo how much chakra do you have let after that last battle?" Naruto asked as Yakumo turned to look at him as they both continued to tree jump.
"Umm I'd say about half I can probably make another chunin level contruct and use a few jutsu after then I'd be at zero.. why?"
"We'll prepare for our new opponents in 200 yards i want you to make a construct that speaclizes in taijutsu and then you'll use your Genjutsu to hide and support me." Naruto began explaining Yakumo's face became indignant.
"You expect me to hide while you fight we're teammates I'm not just going to-"
"YAKUMO!! I get it but nows not the time I can tell from my clones memories that this squad has atleast three jonin level members closing in on us fast. Your jutsu can be jonin level at long distance but up close you're just at chunin in Tajutsu I want to play to our advantages Yakumo-Chan!" Naruto yelled at first before calming down as the situation became clear to Yakumo she nodded her head in agreement unsealing her canvas as the two ninja landed on the forest floor beginning their preparations.
"Kimmimaro san it seems like are target was ready for us I told you not to destroy those clones." A voice said from the tree tops alerting Naruto who stood on the forest floor next to another salivating croc man.
"I apologize Kabuto senpai I'm just eager to test lord orichimaru's latest obsession." The term called kimmimaro said he wore a rope like belt black pants and a white open shirt revealing his musclar frame he appeared to be around naruto's age unlike his two companions who were about to be adults.
"No harm done we'll just have to be a little more cautious you both do remember he's a seal master the floor is probably littered with nasty seals Kimmimaro and Guren if you wouldn't mind cleaning the place up a bit!" Kabuto ordered as the purple haired kunochi brought her hands together before raising them up the white haired kimmimaro did the same as purple and pink crystals shot up from the ground alongside bones as Naruto and the croc construct had to jump into the trees to avoid being stabbed through multiple explosions began sounding off as the bones and crystals destabilized his seals on the ground.
'Shit there goes that plan we should of kept moving!' Naruto thought to himself as he sweatdropped hanging sideways on a tree looking at the three newcomers who eyed him with great intent as the wind picked up blowing everyone's hair as if mother nature herself was interested in the 3 v 1.
Yakumo sat in a tree about three hundred yards away a Genjutsu hid her away from any eyes that traveled over her location after creating that contruct that currently stood beside Naruto on the tree she only had enough chakra for four attacks to help her teammate she had to pick them carefully and she couldn't miss.
'Naruto you better win!!' Yakumo thought to herself heart beating out of her chest as she anticipated what the first move of the fight would be.'
