Chapter 1: Pilot

I heard voices coming from the door leading out of my hospital room, I didn't know how I ended up in the hospital. I remember talking to my mom on the phone while I was driving home, for Christmas. There was a loud noise and then it all went dark, was I in a car accident!

Mom always said that bad things happened when you talk on the phone while driving, why does she always have to be right.

The door opened. "Good your awake, I'm sure your family will be relieved, I'm doctor Wilson"

He came closer to me took out a small flashlight "Miss will you just follow my finger, good can you give me your name?" "Anastasia". The door flew open, and there she was Caroline Forbes she looked just like on TV but how could that be?

"Omg, Anastasia are you okay, mom and I was so worried about you. I have been calling you for hours when they told me, that you have been in a car accident. Is she going to be okay doctor?"

"She is going to be just fine miss Forbes, she just need rest" The doctor walked out of the room, and Caroline sat beside me.

"Mom is going to be here in 20 minutes, how are you feeling, is the bed too soft? Do you need an extra pillow?"

"I'm fine Caroline, I just want to go home" Not even sure where home is at the moment, but I got a feeling that it is not in New York where I grew up. "I am going to speak to the doctor, it will just be a moment, call me if you need anything sis"

That is when it came to me, oh god, CAROLINE IS MY SISTER, but that is not possible, but if Caroline is my sister, then Liz is my mother, but that means that I am in Mystic Falls Virginia. I'M IN THE VAMPIRE DIARES!

I need to get out of here, this can't be happening. I walked over to a chair where some clothes were, put it on, looked around the room to find an escape. The window, I opened it up climbed out of it and walked away from the hospital. I need to find a phone.

I walked in what felt like hours, but I know that is was in fact only around 20 minutes, or that is what my watch said. I came to the town square, and saw the Mystic Grill, I walked in. There were a lot of people, none that I have seen before but then I looked at the bar and there he sat Damon Salvatore drinking his bourbon just like in The Vampire Diaries, he was just sitting all alone so I decided to walk up to him because anyone with their right mind walks up to a vampire that can compel you to do anything.

I sat in the seat next to his, he looked up, but I didn't look at him I waved at the bartender.

"Can I get a diet coke, thank you", I looked up and then to my side where he sat I just gave him an innocent smile and said "Hi"

The bartender came with my drink. I took a sip. "I haven't seen you around here before are you new in town?" I was honestly surprised when he spoke, his voice was as charming and sexy as I remembered from TV. I don't know, I thought I just woke up from the hospital so I have no idea how I ended up here or when I came. I have no idea where in the show we are but it must be early by the looks of it.

"No, I live here in Mystic falls, I'm Anastasia, Ana for short" Giving him my hand. He looked surprised when I gave him my hand. And I have no idea why.

"How rude of me I'm Damon, Damon Salvatore" he took my hand. Giving me a big smile. I was about to say something but was interrupted when I heard my name.

"Ana" I looked at the door to the grill and saw Caroline, and she did not look happy. She came closer and I tried to prepare for whatever thing she was going to say.

"Ana, what are you doing here, you can't just leave the hospital, when you just woke up. Mom is having a crisis. You should have seen her face when you weren't in bed" She looked scared and relived that she had found me.

"I'm sorry Care sorry, you know how I hate hospitals, I just had to get out of there" Was my response. Everyone hates hospitals so I thought it was OK. I looked to my right but Damon was gone he must have left when he heard Caroline Call My Name but why, why did he leave?

Caroline took me home, or you know to Caroline house, didn't really feel right to call it my home. When it didn't really feel like home. Liz had to get back to work, and the doctor said it was okay for me to come home, as long as I take it slow. Caroline led me to my room, it was light witch natural colors, there was some pictures on the walls some of me with Caroline and Liz, and some with Caroline, Bonnie, Elena, and me. I guess we were friends. I stayed in bed for the rest of the night and went to bed early. I woke up by Caroline banning on my door, that I should get ready for school.

I went to the closed to find some close to my surprise they were all nice, so I picked some jeans and a blue T shirt and some white sneakers, better be safe than sorry I thought. I went downstairs in took some toast.

"We have to leave in five, if we want to make it without getting late" Caroline said. While drinking a cup of coffee.

We got in the car on our way to school. I was nervous it was my first day and I had no idea where we were in the plot so I guess I just had to wait to see I could see the school within reach Caroline parked the car me walked out he walked into the hall. Where we saw Elena and Bonnie chatting.

Caroline walked over to them, and I followed.

"Elena. Oh, my God." Caroline said while hugging her. "How are you? Oh, it's so good to see you. How is she? Is she good?" Caroline said, while looking at Bonnie.

"Caroline, I'm right here. And I'm fine, thank you" Elena said. While looking at Caroline. "Really?" Caroline said. Not really believing it. "Yes, much better." Elena said. "Oh, you poor thing" Caroline said while hugging Elena. "Okay, Caroline" Elena said, totally over it. Caroline let go of the hug and said "Okay, see you guys later?" and then she walked away. What was I going to do know?

"How are you doing Ana, heard what happened, are you okay" Bonnie said. Looking at me with sympathy. "Yeah, I'm fine, totally".

We walked down the hall, and there he was Stefan Salvatore, well Stefan Salvatore's back. "Hold up, Who's this? Bonnie said, while looking at Stefan's back. "All I see is back" I what Elena said, also looking at Stefan. "It's a hot back" Bonnie commented. "Not that hot" I said. They both looked at me with surprise. "Come on Ana, even you got to admit. That is a hot back" Bonnie said, trying to defend Stefan.

Stefan was obviously trying to compel the secretary, to get the right papers. I walked away not really wanting anything to do with Stefan. I had no idea what class I had, so all I could think of was to explore.

I knew everything that was going to happened to Stefan and Elena, them bumping into each other on "accident", I think Stefan new exactly what he was doing. But that doesn't matter it was an epic moment. Should have stayed to see it happen. If I remember correctly after school Elena is going to go up to the graveyard and meet Stefan, he totally freaks out because he can smell blood and Elena accidentally forgets her diary and then later that night Stefan gonna return it to her and they're gonna go to the grill. So I'm just gonna wander around town, go back home try to avoid Caroline and go to sleep.

The next day I found out what class I was going to be in, history with Mr. Tanner great.

"The Battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle? Ms. Bennett?" Mr. Tanner said.

"Um...a lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot." Bonnie said. Looking rather surprised that he asked her. A few people laugh in class.

"Cute becomes dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett. Mr. Donovan? Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereotype?" Tanner asked Matt. "It's okay, Mr. Tanner, I'm cool with it." Matt said. Mr. Tanner looked around calls to find his next victim "what about you miss Forbs" He looked at me, what was I supposed to say, I can't remember that answer. "Uhhmm, around 350 sir" pleas be right. "Not bad miss Forbs close" Mr. Tanner said happy with my answer.

"There were 346 casualties. Unless you're counting local civilians." Stefan said, confident. "That's correct. Mister...?" "Salvatore." Stefan said. " Salvatore. Any relation to the original settlers here at Mystic Falls?" Tanner said, obviously interested in history. "Distant." was Stefan's answer. And here it comes. "Well, very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle." Tanner said.

"Actually, there were 27, sir. Confederate soldiers, they fired on the church, believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founder's archives are, uh, stored in civil hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts, Mr. Tanner." Good Stefan give him, Tanner did not look pleased. The class ended, the rest of the day went quickly bye. At night Caroline and I drove to the falls to the party.

There were a lot of people dancing and drinking. Carolyn went off to find Steven but I didn't want to go so I looked around to find someone that I'm know. And there's Tyler was maybe he wasn't such a jerk in real life let's go find out. "Hi, Tyler, having fun" He looked a little surprised that is was talking to him. Then he said. "oh so now you talking to me, you have ignored me for days what happened I thought we were something, but apparently it didn't mean anything to you" WHAT Tyler Lockwood and me, what about Vicki. "sorry I've just been busy and tired since the accident"

"you could have least texted or called, just to let me know that you were OK" Tyler said, having a sad smile on his face. "I'm sorry" I said, didn't really know what was happening but then he took his lips and placed them on too mine. It was not a very passionate kiss but it was OK. He removed his lips and then walked away I was very surprised. Didn't really know what happened, but I was ready to get out of here. Someone found Vicki in the woods and I know what had happened to her it was Damon. The police came in an ambulance and Bonnie offered to take Caroline and me home. But first take us to the grill so that mom wouldn't get upset with Caroline being drunk.

Bonnie got us some coffee, and we sat at a table. "Are you sober yet?" Bonnie asked Caroline. "Nope" Caroline answered. "Come on Caroline I need to go home, I need to get to bed" I said really just waiting on Damon to show up.

"Why didn't he go for me? You know, how come the guys that I want never want me?" Caroline said. Ohh god come on, don't get me wrong I love this scene but not right now i'm so tired. I'm not touching that." Bonnie said, good idea Bonnie. And here it comes. "I'm inappropriate. I always say the wrong thing. And...Elena always says the right thing. She doesn't even try! And he just picks her. And she's always the one that everyone picks, for everything. And I try so hard, and...I'm never the one." Caroline said, I was secretly saying the exact same words but trying to keep a low profile. "It's not a competition, Caroline." Bonnie said, trying to come her. "Yeah, it is.".

After that Caroline went to that bathroom, and Bonnie got up to pay the bill. I was sitting all alone at the table. Then I looked up, and there he sat Damon Salvatore smirking. I smiled back. "I'm surprised to see you here, on a school night" Damon said while walking over to my table and sitting down. "It's not a crime, is it?" I said with a smile. "Not at all, need a lift?" I'm just going to say no, I can't he is a Vampire who know what he is going to do. I don't have vervain. "No thank you, I already have a lift. If you will just excuse me." I told him and left. I can't be with Damon, one he is still not over Kathrine, and two he is a jerk who kills for fun. I looked back where Damon was, but he was gone.

Bonne drove Caroline and I home shortly after. I need to save Caroline from Damon, she is my sister now, and I need to protect her.

I laid in my bed, and thought to my self, 'this has to have been the craziest day of my life'.
