Chapter 6: WNA Meeting
This chapter takes place on the same day Kappei awakened his powers and it's around nighttime.
WNA HQ...
"Perfect…the new ninja gums are a success!" Inside a private lab, an adult Burton just managed to run some tests on a new batch of ninja gum. With him is Berecca who's checking the breakthrough result and their cat, Goro.
"This is so exciting!" Berecca exclaimed as she admired a ring on her finger.
"Are you referring to the test results?"
"No silly. Our wedding next month!"
"Oh yeah! A week after we graduated and reverted back to adults thanks to a cure I've been working on for some time, I did propose to you." Burton recalled.
"And another week later, Ron proposed to Jane." Berecca added as Goro meowed and purred onto her.
"They were married last month and I heard that they went to Las Vegas on their honeymoon." Burton brought up.
"Ha! Ha! From what Jane told me, she won a lot of winnings thanks to her charms and wits." said Berecca.
"Did someone mention me?" The door opened revealing the adult Jane and with her is Ron now officially her husband. "Hey guys!" Berecca gave Jane a hug as Ron smiled. "How's everything?"
"So far so good. Being reinstated back to our jobs is smooth-sailing. Glad the WNA gave us a new lab and new technology to work on more ninja gums and weapons." Burton replied.
"They also put Jane on the admin duties and I'm assigned as head of security and to train the other shinobi rookies that entered the job here in the WNA HQ." said Ron as he also added this. "Tonight there's a very important meeting and all of us are to be there."
"I see. Thanks for the heads up and congrats, heard Jane won a lot of winnings." Burton thanked and congratulated him as he smiled.
"Say, what are you gonna do with the winnings?" Berecca asked.
"Don't know. Maybe buy a new and expensive house for me and Ron to move into and maybe some creature comforts." Jane replied as she and Ron left the lab.
Later that night...
In a meeting room, many attendees have gathered before Genryusai. There's Berecca, Burton, Ron, Jane, Max aka Van's father, Roger, Laura Warren, Bruce, Amy and several others. There are also 20 shinobis on guard duty standing by the wall with some using their smartphones during the duty. (LOL)
"Is everyone gathered?" Genryusai asked.
"Yes. Shall we begin?" Max asked.
"Yes. I'll call the others." Genryusai did a text message and soon enough, 16 holograms of adults appeared in the meeting room. "Those are the current 16 principals that manage the ninja high schools." Ron thought.
"Tonight's meeting, we'll talk about 2 important subjects. We shall begin the first one." Genryusai then looked at the 16 principals.
"The freshmen that enrolled so far are adjusting well to the ninja high school life." A male principal who represents the Advanced WNA High in Argentina stated.
"School budget is stable in credits and from the monthly funding from the WNA." A male principal who represents the Advanced WNA High in Greece stated.
"It is expected that the rate of expulsion on students should be lower than last year." A female principal who represents the Advanced WNA High in Mexico stated.
The other principals also brought their reports until Principal Bingram who's the last. "Every student has so far awakened their powers."
"Indisputably acceptable." Genryusai commended the 16 principals and now, he got serious. "The second one is crucial to our survival and will determine the fate of Ninjala and Earth."
"What are you talking about?" Max asked as many discussed with one another when Genryusai snapped his fingers and 2 shinobis brought in a small chest and placed it before the leader of the WNA. He opened it and took out a scroll.
"12 years ago, a squad consisting of a dozen ninjas were sent to a mountainous area in Oedo to retrieve this artifact reported to be discovered hidden around there. They searched for a week until they found it. Unfortunately for unknown reasons, all of them perished but the artifact was still recovered." Genryusai explained as he unrolled the scroll. "This ninja artifact recovered is a prophecy which will determine the fate of all Ninjala and our home."
The reading then commences.
Demonic skies shall blot out the sun
And the Earth will be stained by the blood of the slain
Onis will dominate the world and end all humanity
With chaos and destruction rampant at all 4 corners
In the times of darkness, a glimmer of hope will light the way
For a ninja warrior with ancient power will rise up
And end the existence of all wickedness
Victory will restore livelihood and pave the way for a better future
Everyone murmured or discussed about this prophecy as Genryusai closed up the scroll. "Just one thing, why is this brought up now?" Bruce asked.
"Because for the first time in the history of Ninjala, a certain student became the first to awaken his power in the rankings of Ancient." Genryusai answered as he took out a controller and pressed a button.
On the centre of the conference table, a projector opened up revealing the scene where a downed Kappei was struggling to get up followed by the massive explosion. Seconds later, it reveals him with the awakened powers.
Bruce, Amy, Laura, Burton, Berecca, Ron and Jane gasped as, "You are familiar with this Bingram?" Genryusai asked him.
"Yes. I received the report from his teacher. One can say it was a miracle." He replied. "He was being harassed by a gang of bullies and when trying to protect one of his classmates who tried to stop them, it happened."
"Miraculous..." Jane thought while typing on her laptop. Berecca took a peek and was stunned to see her do some online shopping in the midst of a meeting.
"I have a question. What are or who are the Onis?" Roger asked with his hand raised and this question caused Genryusai to tense up a bit first. He then calmed down and answered his question.
"Onis are the most evil, vile, chaotic and detestable creatures that have existed on this Earth for hundreds of years. They show no mercy and kill innocents for blood and pleasure. Their strong belief is their immense hatred for humanity in which reasons are unknown."
"Any history between the shinobis and onis?" Amy asked.
"For centuries in the age of the ninjas, onis have ravaged towns and cities spilling innocent blood. They slaughter all humanity. Male, female, children, infacts and elderly. Gruesome are the deaths caused by them and at one point when the oni threats grows rapidly due to numerous death reports, all the ninja clans banded together to put those creatures to extinction."
"For your information. Onis in the English language are also known as demons." Laura stated.
"Thank you. Now continuing, before the battle, the clans leaders gathered together to ask for help." Genryusai continued on.
"Who are they seeking?" Bruce asked.
"Deities." He answered surprising everyone. "They sought the deities pleading for their help knowing that the carnage caused by the onis is unacceptable and many shinobis in the past lost their families and loved ones. The carnage is too much for the clan leaders to bear so yes, the deities see the pain and suffering and have agreed to aid them in battle."
"How did the battle go?" Berecca asked while petting Goro.
"It was pyrrhic victory. The deities have given the ninja clans their blessings and they emerged victorious but at the cost of many ninjas." Genryusai spoke on. "The onis firstly are too numerous. Secondly, most ninjas were killed in action by their most powerful and wicked leader. The Oni Emperor."
"And who is this Oni Emperor?" Burton asked.
"The Oni Emperor is the sole ruler of all the onis. He's monstrous and tyrannical having deep hatred for humanity. The war between the ninjas and onis was never easy for he's a practitioner of Blood Magic. A forbidden and corrupted type of magic that only he can wield to his own power." Genryusai answered.
"Hearing the word, 'blood' sends chills down to my spine..." Berecca exclaimed as she clung to Burton's arm.
"The main source of his blood magic is from the countless, innocent human lives that the onis have slaughtered for their 'beloved' leader. When they kill humans, their blood is absorbed by them and they offered the blood to their leader to absorb and manifest the blood magic. The more blood spilled, the more magic he can accumulate. This is why he gave the ninjas a hard time during battle. Truly the most dangerous foe ever to face. Even more dangerous than the space ninjas and Shadow Ninjas." Genryusai stated.
"But still, they defeated him right?" Ron asked.
"Precisely. The blessings of the deities is the reason why the ninjas survived and prevailed. Except for those killed by the Oni Emperor. In the darkest moment, the clan leaders decided to fatally slay the demon together and through the power of the shinobi and the blessings of the deities, they cut open his chest and his demonic heart was extracted out. That was enough to end his bloody life and weaken all onis enabling the rest to slash them apart." Genryusai concluded the story as all discussed among themselves. "Any questions?"
"Yeah. The prophecy stated that the onis will rise and destroy us and the planet. For the warrior of ancient power, you meant to say-"
"Yes Roger. There is a chance but we can't jump to conclusions." Genryusai answered. "This is just the beginning. Who knows if there's another with ancient-ranked awakened power or more."
"Also, what happened to all the onis after the war?" Max asked.
"The ninja clans hunted down the remaining ones to ensure they never rise again. For the heart, it was never found." Genryusai answered as he looked at the time. "It's getting late. And therefore, this meeting is over."
Everyone quietly packed up and left the meeting room. Likewise, the 16 principals through the holographic images faded out leaving only Genryusai. He looked through the scroll one more time. "My heart is heavy...who knows what's going to happen to this world...nevertheless, a true ninja must never abandon hope. Not even a glimmer of it..."
He then closed the scroll, kept it back in the chest and had the 2 shinobis to store it away. After that, he left the room. There is much to ponder on one can say.
A prophecy, a history involving war between ninjas and onis and their leader. Everyone in the meeting learnt some new history and this will be something should the prophecy take effect...
This is also a teaser for one of the 3 story arcs in this story. Things had become more interesting and exciting...

Profile
Intelligent, street smart and informative Jeong is due to his free time surfing the internet for various data and information and gaming lots of video games. Born in South Korea, Jeong came from a ninja clan where many have the technological skills adapted into their abilities in this modern world. He's even one of those that awakened their powers at a young age. With that, he attended the academy and after that was enrolled to high school.
In class, Jeong serves as the smartest student and the main informant. His intelligence is his greatest strength and still, he has a decent level in physical fitness especially in the ninja training
Awakened Power: Data Archive
Jeong's awakened power enables him to summon a neon blue holographic wall known as the webpage where he can collect and store vast amounts of data in the many pages he can surf around. Space is unlimited and he has all the information about anything. From a person to a place and to various things.
During battle, Jeong can use his power to collect info on his opponents, surf through it and plan strategies and counterattacks to eliminate his opponents with the precise calculations.
