Kris carefully extracted the piping hot pie from the oven. He carried it over to the open window and set it on the sill. It steamed in the dying autumn daylight. The fantastic aroma of cinnamon and apples filled the kitchen. Kris quickly replaced his oven mitts for a flyswatter.

"Dude, I'm still not so sure about this," Susie grumbled. "I've never had a good apple pie before."

"That's because you've never had one baked by me before," Kris said confidently.

"But they're always either too hard, too raw, and too wet, or just all mushy and gross!" she complained, making a disgusted face.

"Am I actually hearing you, Susie, the girl who can consume more moss and chalk than me, complain about a pie being too raw or too mushy?" Kris laughed, suddenly lashing out with the flyswatter.

Whack!

"Ouch!" Berdly yelped. His feathered hand had been reaching to swipe the pie. Kris had both saved the pie and rescued Berdly from a bad burn.

Susie snarled and launched herself into the window, nearly landing her chest in the hot pie. She glared down at Berdly who was joined by Monster Kid and Snowy. They grinned up at her sheepishly. Berdly even managed a wave and squawked, "Hi there, Susan!"

"These guys are always after my family's fresh pies," Kris said simply.

"Kris, I never thought you would dare insinuate that your mother's pies bring all the boys to your yard," Susie snickered. She then gnashed her teeth over their classmates and snarled, "Get out of here! I'm not sharing pie with sneaky thieves! Or if you want, I can wet my palette with your faces!"

Kris laughed. Hadn't she just been doubting his pie-making abilities? Their friends yelped and scampered out of the Dreemurr yard. Susie still grabbed some of the discarded apple cores from Kris' preparations and hurled them at the boys' retreating backs. Snowy let out a yelp and picked up the speed, outstripped Berdly and Monster Kid. They soon disappeared down the road and into town.

"Small town problems," Susie snorted. "Is no pie sacred?"

"I thought you were feeling dubious about my apple pie."

She blushed and said, "Well… You did go through all the trouble to make it for me, so I should at least give your pie a fair chance. And it smells delicious, alright!? So get off my back about it!"

Kris snickered and motioned for her to join him back by the stove. He explained, "I'm going to teach you how to make some whipped cream. Come over here; I'm going to need your sexy muscles."

"Hey! No sweet talking until after we're done eating! I don't need you to spoil my meal. Especially if your pie turns out to be gross," Susie chided. But she smiled in a mischievous way as she joined Kris.

He poured a bunch of heavy cream into a large bowl and added a few packets of vanilla sugar. Susie took up a whisk and beat the hell out of the heavy cream, turning the thick liquid into a fluffy, sweet-smelling substance.

"Damn you, Kris. I might eat all of this stuff before we even cut the pie! It smells so good!"

Susie had beaten the cream so hard that flecks of whipped cream were all over her and Kris. Her boyfriend reached up and removed some of the whipped cream with his thumb. He made a show of slowly eating it. Susie growled at the teasing. If that was how he wanted it. She set down the bowl and whisk before grabbing him. Susie hauled Kris up to her level and began kissing him, sucking the whipped cream right off his face. Their lips kept find each other until they were making out in the middle of the kitchen.

It was a good thing that Toriel wasn't home.

Finally, Kris pulled back, beat red from the passion. He quietly suggested that they start digging into the cake. "After all, you didn't want to spoil your appetite."

"Too late. If it's bad, I'm taking a bite of you, Dreemurr!"

Kris checked the pie and found it now reasonable to cut into. He cut himself a large slice and gave almost the rest of the pie over to Susie. They piled the whipped cream onto the slices of pie and dug in.

Almost immediately, Susie's eyes were rolling with sheer ecstasy. She couldn't help but shovel the whole thing into her mouth. Through her chewing, she gasped, "Amazing! It's not hard like a normal apple, but it's not mush either! It's perfectly baked and so freaking sweet! Kris, you're a genius!"

"Thanks!" he said.

"Hang on there, you have some cream again on your nose."

Susie leaned in a kissed the whipped cream right off Kris. He stole the opportunity to return the kiss. Susie chuckled and pulled back, taking his slice of pie.

"Better watch out, Kris. Those idiots out there aren't the only pie thieves!"

And without missing a beat, she gulped down his slice of apple pie.
