Chapter 10 Maze Chaos

Akihisa was nervous as he went to class, 'Oh man I haven't seen Yuuji since the mall, that was crazy, I haven't even heard from him since then either,' as he checked his phone seeing the Yuuji hadn't responded to any of his messages, 'Part of me wanted to go and check up on him, since I didn't know if Iron man had gotten to him yet, but I didn't want to take the chance I might actually interrupt anything.' Thought Akihisa as he walked towards the classroom, "Man, if something did happen like that it might turn the school upside down, I know the other guys would be-" at that moment Akihisa opened the door to class F, what he saw was the reaper himself as blood lust oozed out of the classroom door. Akihisa slammed the door shut and placed his back on the door. "I'm too young to die."

Hideyoshi walked down the hall towards the classroom and saw Akihisa, "Uh Akihisa what are you doing?"

"Holding off the horde of death."

"What?"

The door then cracked open just enough for them to see the blood red eyes of the FFF Inquisition. "Is the traitor with you?"

Akihisa felt his spine freeze, 'Oh god, what would these maniacs do if they found out about me?'

"Nope, it's just Hideyoshi and Akihisa." said Hideyoshi trying to keep a calm face but even he was a little worried, even though he had never caught the inquisitions wrath, he truly felt frightened at their current state.

The FFF Inquisition member then stepped aside as the door opened, "Then come on in, our brethren are almost finished preparing the execution."

Akihisa and Hideyoshi looked at each other for a moment before taking a deep breath before walking inside they saw each member of the FFF Inquisition preparing some sort of weapon or torture device, they even saw a few members setting up a execution platform. Though what scared them the most was the fact ever single member of the triple F Inquisition was crying hot red blood.

"Hideyoshi, i'm scared." said Akihisa as his legs were shaking.

"Yeah me too," said Hideyoshi who was just off put, "Do you think Yuuji was smart enough to skip class today."

"Maybe, I don't know." replied Akihisa honestly.

"Oh he's coming alright," said a voice suddenly behind the two.

"Ahh...Kota?" asked Akihisa as they both saw their friend was also wearing the inquisition robes and at a small stream of blood coming from his eyes.

Kota was looking at a small laptop, "That bastard has made me break my promise, I'm actually using my laptop to track a guy, Yuuji will pay for this. That bastard dares come to school after rubbing it in all our faces that he was able to experience the promised land, he will pay for his life." yelled Kota causing the other members of the FFF Inquisition to cheer.

"Yuuji is going to die." stated Akihisa.

Hideyoshi nodded, "Yep, let's hope they make it quick."

"Let's hope they make what quick?" asked Yuuji as he entered the room, causing all eyes, bloodied and normal to look at him. "Sup guys." said Yuuji nonchalant.

"Yuuji," said Akihisa as several FFF members surrounded them, "Um shouldn't you be running right now."

"Why would I?" asked Yuuji as he walked over to his desk/box and sat down.

They all blinked at Yuuji's response, "So does that mean Iron Man caught up with you guys?" asked Hideyoshi.

"Iron man was chasing me?" asked Yuuji confused.

"Wait, then did you and Shouko...share a bed?" asked Hideyoshi trying to keep the conversation to a pg level.

Yuuji smiled as he looked back at the memory. "That was the best night of my life."

The temperature instantly rose as the bloody rage of the FFF Inquisition hit an all time high, "GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY!"

"YUUJI RUN!" cried out Akihisa as he and Hideyoshi got out of the way of the angry high schoolers.

All of the Inquisition charged at Yuuji, "YOUR PUNISHMENT IS DEATH!"

Yuuji just sighed and slowly turned to them, "You boys are beneath me, QUIT IT!" as Yuuji opened his eyes, unleashing a wave of energy at them causing them all to collapse.

Akihisa and Hideyoshi watched in amazement, "Whoa that was the king's will, Conqueror's Haki!"

"Did the author forget which series he was writing for?" asked Hideyoshi.

"I think we should just put a pin in that for now," said Akihisa as he ignored the fourth wall and focused on his friend. "Yuuji?"

Yuuji looked at Akihisa and gave a slight nod before standing up, "Listen up a lot of things have happened in a very short amount of time, we are class F, we have been put in this class because we are the lowest of the low, the dumbest of the dumb, but we it doesn't have stay that way, I am proof of that, Aki is proof of that."

"Say what?" asked Akihisa.

"This idiots grades are getting better, Akihisa is getting smarter, that is way more of a miracle then me getting a home run with my girlfriend, if it can happen with losers like us then it can happen to you as well. From the start of this I wanted to prove that class F can be more than just the class of idiots, but I realize now I can't do it alone, it's time we stop bringing everyone else down, it's time we hold each other up, it's time we clam victory over this school." finished Yuuji's speech.

"Nice speech, but what was the point of that?" asked Hideyoshi.

"I think he pulled it out of his ass, so they wouldn't kick his." said Akihisa.

An FFF inquisition member stepped forward, taking off his robe, revealing himself to be Ryou Sugawa who had tears running down his eyes, "Do you mean, do you think that one day we all maybe more than losers."

"I do my friend," said Yuuji as he placed a hand on his shoulder, "I believe in each and every single one of you."

Sugawa dropped to his knees, "All Hail Yuuji, the savior of class F."

Soon the others began to join in, "All Hail Yuuji, All Hail Yuuji, All Hail Yuuji."

"What the hell is going on now?" asked Hideyoshi.

"I don't know," replied Akihisa, "but I get the feeling I should be calling some guys in suits for this."

Kota stood up and walked around to Yuuji, "Fool them all you want Yuuji, but I'll uncover the truth, after all only one truth prevails."

Yuuji just smiled, "Game on my friend." before turning to the class, "Now quickly clean up before the teacher arrives."

"YES SIR!" yelled the class as they quickly began cleaning up.

Yuugi smiled and walked over to Akihisa, "Hey you mind if I talk to you for sec in private."

"Uh sure," said Akihisa as he wondered what he wanted to talk about, as Yuuji brought him to the corner of the room, "So what's up?"

"Well this weekend gave me some clarity in more ways than one," said Yuuji in a wise sage like manner, "I have truly entered the realm of manhood but I can tell I have a long way to go, I'm going to need to study hard and become the man Shouko deserves."

"Oh wow that's great," said Akihisa, 'I guess it wasn't such a bad thing after all.'

"So it begs the question from man to man," as Yuuji looked Akihisa in eyes, "Who did you sleep with?"

Akihisa's eyes shot open as he blacked out for a split second, "Eh?"

"Don't even try to fool me Akihisa, you've changed too much too quickly," said Yuuji, "It's the only answer I can come up with."

Akihisa's eyes turned to swirls, 'Oh man what do I say, what do I do here?'

The door then slammed open startling everyone, "Good morning students," said Mia in a very excited loud voice, "Who wants to have a mock ST War?"

Akihisa immediately raised his hand, "I DO!"

"Saved by the teacher." commented Yuuji as he dropped his question from earlier, "I'll find out eventually."

Mia then stepped into the room, "Alright then Akihisa, get ready to-"

"SORRY WE'RE LATE!" yelled both Minami and Himeji as they both ran through the door with both of their faces flushed red as they breathed in heavily.

"Oh hey their Minami, Himeji," Said Mia, "You two okay, you both look a little red."

Both Minami and Himeji stood up straight and quickly shook their heads, "We're fine," said Minami quickly, "We were just talking to Shouko is all."

"She was glowing." commented Himeji half mindedly.

Which caused Minami to blush a little harder, "So what are you guys up to?" she asked, trying to change the subject.

"Akihisa and Ms. Shiono were about to have a mock st battle." explained Hideyoshi.

"A mock battle?"

"Wait does that mean you have an avatar Ms. Shiono?" asked Himeji.

Mia gave her class a double peace sign, "Yep, got it last night, so I want to give it a test run." Mia then raised her hand, "So without further ado, I approve this mock battle." Soon a cube field enveloped the school. "Here we go, summon." soon particles began to form as a summoning circle appeared with a chibi version of Mia popping out of the circle, her avatar was blonde and wore the same glasses as Mia, but she was wearing a witch outfit, complete with a pointy witch hat and staff, and was wrapped in a witches cloak. "I'm a little witch." said Mia giddily.

The small avatar struck a pose. "Aw she's adorable." Said Himeji.

"I love the witch outfit." said Minami as they fond over the avatar.

"Well Akihisa, bring out your avatar, my little girl here needs to stretch her legs." as Mia was raring to fight, "Also don't worry, when you lose you won't have to be dragged off my Nishimura."

"Okay," said Akihisa as he raised his hand in the air, "Summon." Nothing happened at all, "Huh, what gives?" asked Akihisa confused before trying it again, "Summon." Still nothing was summoned, "Hey what's going on?" Akihisa froze, 'Wait this is...oh no.'

Suddenly a green summoning circle appeared right in front of Akihisa before it sent out a pulse throughout the summoning field, "What the heck?" asked Kota, "What's going on?"

Mia quickly realized something was wrong, "Field close." the cube summoning field began to close before quickly opening itself again, even bigger than before. "It's not closing, the system is out of control."

Soon hundreds of tiny multicolored summoning circles began to appear everywhere, on the walls, the floors, even on people. "Oh no," said Akihisa as he looked down at the circle in front of him, 'Not again!' he cried in his head, before a small avatar of Miharu appeared, "Wait that's not mine." he said before several avatars began to be summoned flooding the hallways and classrooms, though unlike the last time Akihisa did this not all the avatars were his, after looking around him he saw several avatars from different classrooms, 'Well at least it's not just mine this time.' thought Akihisa before being buried under a mountain of avatars.

Ms. Takahashi ran into the principal's office, "Ma'am we have a problem, the ST system is out of control."

"I can see that," said the Principle as she furiously typed away at her computer to assess the situation, "The system has gotten out of control and we've been locked out of the server room, there's no way back inside." a small avatar suddenly summoned on her desk that she quickly swatted away, as she did she felt its weight, "Not to mention every avatar that is being summoned is physical."

"What do we do ma'am, shut down the system?" Ms. Takahashi.

"Can't the backup power is running at the moment, so it would take a whole month for it to loose power," said the principle as she kept trying to think of a way to fix things more and more tiny avatars kept appearing around them, "Dammit, how many more of things things are coming?"

"Ma'am we need to shut down the system quickly before we are flooded here." said Youko as she threw more avatars away.

The principal sighed, "I didn't want to cause any more damage but it looks like we're going to need to blow a hole into the server room, get Nishimura and prepare to break into the server room."

"Yes ma'am."

"Wait." said Yui as she came running into the room, "Ma'am can you give Mia your passwords, she's connected to the server."

"What?" said the principal, surprised.

"Yes, we're in, thanks Yui," said Mia on her phone before quickly putting the principles passcodes into her laptop, "Shutting off the avatars now." as she did the small little avatars began to vanish around them. Mia and the rest of class F breathed a sigh of relief. "That was close."

"We were almost drowned in avatars," said Hideyoshi.

"What happened?" asked Akihisa.

Mia was looking at the data on her laptop, "I'm not sure." They then heard the door open, "Yuuji, where are you going?"

"I need to go check on Shouko." said Yuuji as he ran down the hall.

"I'll go with him," said Hideyoshi, "I'd like to make sure my sister is okay." as he left as well.

Before she could say anything an error popped up on her screen, "Oh no," she quickly checked it, "Akihisa, Kota, you two go with them quickly and tell them to bring, Shouko, Yuuko and Aiko to the principal's office, me Minami and Himeji will meet you guys there. GO!"

"Yes Ma'am." said both boys before running out of the classroom.

"Why are we heading to the principal's office?" asked Minami.

"Because right now you guys are the only ones that can fix it," Mia then looked at the rest of the students. "The rest of you, make sure no one tries to leave the ST field, or else we'll have to deal with the avatars again, GO!"

"Man this place is a mess," said Akihisa as they ran down the hall.

They looked into the other classrooms to see desks and chairs broken or flipped, "I know, I can't believe the avatars did this much damage." said Kota as they caught up to Yuuji and Hideyoshi who were trying to get the door open. "Guys?"

"The doors jammed shut," said Yuuji.

Hideyoshi looked through the window, "It looks like one of the bookshelves fell and hit the door jamming it shut."

"Alright then on 3" said Akihisa as the guys got ready, "1...2...3" all four of them charged the door together, breaking open the door and pushing the bookshelf back. "We did it."

"Shouko!" yelled Yuuji.

The four of them looked over to see a makeshift barricade made of tables and desks in the middle of the room, protecting the students of class A. Shouko head popped over the barricade, "Yuuji." she then jumped over the barricade and into Yuuji's arms.

Yuuji held her close, "You okay?"

"I am now."

Hideyoshi went over to the barricade, "Yukko, you okay."

Yuuko gave her brother a nod, "Yeah I'm fine," she then looked at the other students of class F, "How about you guys?"

"Were all safe." said Akihisa before remembering what Mia asked, "But we need to bring you, Shouko and Aiko to the principles office."

Yuuko tilted her head a bit in confusion, "Why?"

Then the screeching sound of the PA turned on, "Attention all students, this is your principle. As you all can tell we have a situation but do not worry everything is under control, but I would like to stress that all of you should stay in your classrooms, unless your teacher has told you otherwise please stay in your classrooms, but those who were told to get to my office get here, NOW!"

"I think that was for us." said Kouta.

"Come on," said Yuuji as he took Shouko's hand, causing the girl to glow slightly, "We shouldn't keep her waiting."

When the group of students arrived at the office they saw Mia typing away on her laptop with Minami and Himeji standing behind her, trying their best to figure out what's going. "Hey we're here," announced Akihisa as the group entered the office, "So what's the situation?"

"And why'd you call us of all people here?" asked Hideyoshi.

"That is a good question." said the Principle as she looked at Mia who was still looking at her computer.

"We believe that your group is the only ones that are able to stop this and fix the error." explained Youko.

"It's not an error." interjected Mia, "Someone did this on purpose."

"What?" asked the room.

The Principle sat up straight, "Explain."

Mia turned her computer around, "This is the servers update logs, look at the bottom two, the first one is my avatar update which was done last night as we implemented it over the weekend, but the one right below it was an update directly into the servers this morning, someone is screwing with the servers on purpose."

This information shocked the room, "What who would do that?" asked Akihisa.

"And why?" asked Yuuji.

"We'll find out later," said the Principle. "For now we need to figure out how to fix this."

"Mia, you have access to the server logs, can you by chance fix this remotely?" asked Youko.

Mia shook her head, "I'm afraid not, I only have special access for certain areas thanks to the principle for my experiments."

"Experiments, wait do you mean the pool experiment?" asked Yui.

"Yes, I gave Mia, permission to alter certain data to help conduct her experiments." explained the principle.

"Our points," said Yuuko as she figured out where they were going, "During the experiment you gave us all the same amount of points and were able to make our avatars physical."

"Is that why we're called here?" asked Kouta.

"None of our avatars were summoned," said Yuuji, "During the chaos, I saw a number of avatars from other classrooms but none from ours, or one of Shouko, Aiko or Yuuko."

"That's right," said Mia. "I can't see all of the data right now from just by laptop, but it was targeting the avatar data, but since I had a copy of that data on the server for my class and for the three of you from class A, the code caused a small error that made it so none of you avatars appeared, I used that to edit the code a bit to make the tiny avatars go away but we have a bigger problem."

"You mean the field?" asked Yui.

Mai nodded, "Yeah, the code causes an error as long as the person is in the field if they leave the field, their avatars will return." she then pointed to the door. "Take a look."

They all turned to see a small avatar running outside the hall, "Wait I know that avatar, it belongs to Miho, from our class." said Aiko as she saw her classmate's avatar. "But she wasn't even here today."

"That's because her cousin's wedding was over the weekend and she won't be coming back till tomorrow." explained Yuuko before turning to the Principal, "How many students are absent today?"

"That's not the issue," said the Principle, "The issue is the servers, if we can get there then we can stop all of this, but the doors are locked and the only way is the vents that are too small for a normal person to fit through, but an avatar can."

"But won't our avatars go all crazy if we summon them?" asked Akihisa.

"Not if you three use your own fields," said the Principle as she pointed to the iron bracelet, "If you use the iron bracelet then all of you can summon your avatars."

"But how will we see?" asked Minami.

"I got that covered," said Mia, as she turned her laptop around once more to show a program, "This is an echo field my thank you gift to this school for allowing me to work here. It's technically an avatar in the shape of an orb and a cue, the orb is a camera while the cube acts as a screen, I called a few buddies of mine from the university to make them so teachers could get a could view of the students during battle to make sure there was no cheating, I can upload one directly to each iron bracelets, but that does mean you guys will have to be working in teams of three each."

The principal smiled, "Very impressive, I can see that coming quite in handy."

"Alright, I'm pumped," said Akihisa excitedly, "Let's do this."

"It shouldn't be that hard," said Yuuko, "All we have to do then is get into the server room and reset the servers right."

"Not exactly," spoke the principle dashing their hopes, "All of security protocols are active, meaning the nine of you should expect a fight."

Soon they split into teams of three as they entered the vents, Team Akihisa, which consisted of Akihisa, Minami and Himeji went through the center vents, Team Yuuji, which was Yuuji, Shouko and Kota went down the left vents, which left the right vents for Team Hideyoshi to deal with, Hideyoshi, Yuuko and Aiko.

"Looks clear so far," said Akishisa as his team walked down the vent, but he did remember the swamp from last time, "But we can't let our guard down yet, in most games this is when some sort of trap appears."

"Aki, I know things like that happen in video games, but do you really think something like that is going to happen here." said Minami as her avatar stepped on a switch.

Suddenly two summoning circles on either side of them, "Look out!" as Akihisa's avatar grabbed both Minami's and Himeji's avatars and jumped out of the way as a dozen arrows shot out of the circle, nearly killing their groups. "Are you two alright?"

"They actually set traps in the vents!" said Minami, shocked by the fact, "Uh yeah I'm fine."

"Ahh" squeaked out Himeji getting her team's attention.

"Himeji! Are you alright?" asked Akihisa.

"I got hit." Said Himeji as she pointed to her avatar that had a cut on its leg.

"Wait, we can feel pain here!' shouted Minami.

Mia cleared her throat and spoke through the computer, "I'm afraid so, when we were doing the test I switch all of you to feel what your avatars feel, though when I did it I toned down the pain drastically, but it looks like the pain settings went back to the regular amount, so try not to get hit."

"WHAT!?" yelled Minami and Akihisa.

(Team Yuuji)

"Well that's just great," said Yuuji as they overheard Mia's explanation. "Okay guys be ready for anything, Shouko stay close."

"Okay Yuuji." said Shouko, smiling which caused her and her avatar to glow.

"Ah that's bright," said Kota trying to block the glow from his eyes, "Tone that down would ya."

"You can't dim our love." said Shouko as she continued to glow.

The Principle noticed the glow, "She...seems to be in a good mood." as she was slightly confused, "I wonder what happened to her."

Mia slowly looked over to Youko which caused the class A teacher to blush, "We should focus on the current task for the moment, we can worry about our students' personal lives later." she said quickly while avoiding eye contact. 'If the principal finds out I was the one that gave them the stupid idea to do it, I'll be fired on the spot.'

(Team Hideyoshi)

"It looks like we're getting close," said Hideyoshi as he glanced at the map, "So far it looks like we've been able to get around all the traps on our path."

"Ah man how boring," said Aiko disappointed, "I was hoping for something exciting to happen."

"The quicker we get this done, the quicker we can get our extra credit and head back to class." said Yuuko.

Aiko pouted, "Of course I get paired up with team boring." both the twins decided it would be best to ignore that comment.

That's when Hideyoshi noticed something, "Look alive we got incoming." as he saw a summoning circle appear, as a samurai with a bamboo hat that had the letter A on top appeared, "Who is that?"

"Wait a minute I recognize him," said Yuuko as she began to panic. "He was the top student last year, but he graduated."

"What?"

"Well it looks like things are getting interesting." said Aiko as she got her avatar ready, "Let's go."

"Why is my old student's avatar here?" asked Youko, but the others remained silent as they didn't have an answer.

Mia began looking at the data that was coming in, "They're here entering the students summoner field so I should be able to get some info-AH!" Mia then looked at the code, "They're after the students data, whoever did this was targeting information on the top students that graduated from the school, this avatar is a copy of data that's in the process of being transmitted out of the servers."

"What!" yelled Youko.

"Can you stop the transmission of data?" asked The Principle.

Mia began to type furiously but soon began to shake her head, "I can't, I'm a chemist, my specialty is in biology, I only learned programming so I could understand the data from my machines better, this is way above my level of programming."

"Dammit," yelled the Principle as she slammed her fist on the table, "Someone is after our students."

"Can you at least tell us how long we have until the data is transmitted?" asked Youko.

Mia looked at the data, "It's waiting on some program to finish running...a program to condense a file for easy transport, it looks like their after a good chunk of data from past students, I'd say we have forty minutes until the file is done condensing after that we would only have a minute or two before it's sent out."

"Did you kids hear all that," asked the Principle, "Get to the Server room NOW!"

"I'm a little busy at the moment." yelled Yuuji.

Yuuji's avatar braced as it blocked a massive blow from a giant ax, their opponent was a medieval knight with an A on the face plate. The massive blow sent a surge of pain up Yuuji's arms, "Shit so this is what Akihisa feels like."

"You stay away from him!" Yelled Shouko as her avatar ran up and began to attack the knight, but was able to block each blow with it's shield, Shouko noticed that she was barley doing damage to the knight, "But how, my score should be high enough to do more damage."

"Let me try," as Kota's avatar appeared from behind the knight with his camera in hand, "Say cheese asshole." as he flashed the camera in the knights face blinding him and making the knight open for a well placed shot to the stomach with a kunai, causing it to lose over a hundred points of health, "Got him critical hit."

"We ain't done yet," as Yuuji's avatar came up and gave the knight a one two punch before it could block with it's shield, send it flying into the wall of the vent. "Don't even try to get back up."

"What just happened?" asked Youko, "That Avatar should have had way more power than that?"

"The data is fluctuating," said Mia a she looked at her screen, "The avatar are trying to compensate being in the summoning field from my class server I made for control experiment, it's randomizing it's subject points, to compensate for it's opponents, meaning each opponent it has it will switch subjects."

"So they just need to switch up their attacks to find a good weakness." said the Principle, "Then hopefully each team has a wide enough range to deal with each opponent."

"Jump!" yelled Akihisa as his team jumped over a wave attack aimed at their feet, "Nice try but I've figured you out."

Their opponent was a female avatar wearing a short skirt dress and holding a whip, it didn't react to the comment and just kept trying to attack, "That isn't going to work on us." yelled Minami as she met the attack with her own, "Now Himeji!"

"Right," as Himeji dashed forward and sliced the avatar, dealing a massive amount of damage, "It wasn't enough."

"Don't worry it's off balance." Yelled Akihisa as he quickly slashed at the avatar, "Quickly attack."

With a battle cry they all charged forward pinning their opponent down before defeating the enemy avatar. "Ah yeah we rock," yelled Minami in victory.

"Nice work everyone." said Himeji.

"Yeah we make a pretty good team." said Akihisa with a smile, which'd caused both girls to blush. "Is everything alright?"

"Yep, fine." said Minami quickly.

"We should probably keep moving," said Himeji, trying to change the subject.

"Right we only have about thirty minutes remaining." said Akihisa, "Come one let's move."

"Right," said the two as they followed him down the vent, thought they didn't get far as the vent was soon covered in a dark red haze. "Huh?"

"What in the world is going on here?" asked Akihisa as he felt a sudden chill, 'I don't remember this.'

"Guys look," yelled Himeji as her avatar pointed down the vent where they saw several summoning circles appear, though what came out was something completely unexpected.

"Oh you have got to be kidding me!" shouted Minami as she and everyone else recognized the avatar that appeared.

The teachers saw the avatars pop up on the screen, "What the hell, but how is that possible and what the hell is she doing there?" asked Mia.

"It's not just her avatar." said Youko as she pointed at the screen. "She's right behind them in the room."

The Principle immediately grabbed her mic, "I don't know what the hell you think you're doing but stop right now, we are in the middle of a situation here."

"No," came the bone chilling voice that sent a chill up each member of team Akihisa's spine.

They all slowly turned around to see a glare of death pointed at Akihisa from "MIHARU!"

"You have defiled my beloved," said Miharu as she raised a taser in hand that was completely charged, "Prepare to die."
