Village of the Holy Land part 3
"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."
– Nelson Mandela
Shapira was among the settlers that lived in the West Bank. He enjoyed hanging swimming as a kid. As he got older, he became an introvert in middle school. He didn't speak to people in his three years. He spent more time playing video games. He tried to change himself in college. Sadly, he had no vision. This was where he met Akira, Soran, and Kencho.
Present Day
Shapira: What's wrong? I can smell your fear! Your yāba weeps for you!
Akira: What do we do? Don't tell me we're going just surrender.
Khadijah: There's something you should know, son. Your abbahāt has one of those bad growths. Without the money, we cannot afford a doctor to treat it.
Soran: Looks like we have no choice.
Akira: What?
Soran: Trust me. Shapira may have the gun, but we have the mole.
Khadijah: What do you mean?
Soran stepped outside with his hands up. He then winked to his father as the Blackhawk appeared.
Onboard the Blackhawk was Allelujah.
Allelujah (through the bullhorn in Hebrew): [Shapira, we have a warrant for your arrest! Step off the loader with the man unharmed!]
This came as a surprise to both Shapira and Boulos. Shapira released Boulos and they got off the loader. When they did, Allelujah got off the helicopter with his team and handcuffed Shapira.
Shapira (in Hebrew): [What is this is!?]
Allelujah: [Its for your own good.]
Soran: A moment, please.
Allelujah: Alright. You have five minutes.
Soran: Shapira, what is it you want to do?
Shapira: The same as you! To do what I want! Do what I want! What's wrong with that?
Akira: If you really wanted to have fun, why didn't you act as though you wanted to?
Shapira: I did! Of course I'm having fun!
Soran: Your definition of "fun" where you've killed innocent people was pathetic. Nelson Mandela would never approve of it.
This was when Shapira started to think of his boyhood where he had real fun swimming. He then started to cry.
Allelujah (checking his watch): One more minute.
Akira: What is your real bucket list, Shapira?
Shapira: All I wanted to do was swim with my friends.
Akira: If that's all you wanted, you must've fooled yourself.
In truth, Shapira had shied away from Akira's invitation in college.
Shapira started to cry, Akira gave him a hug.
Allelujah: Alright, your five minutes are up.
Allelujah and his officers took Shapira away.
Neil: Who was that man? Why did he help us?
Soran: Allelujah was old friend. We went to school together. That was before the Second Intifada. We got his confession at the aquarium to send to the UN.
Allelujah (on the recording): My name is Nitzav Allelujah Haptism. The charge for Saori Ohtori's arrest was false. I was given the order to arrest anyone accused of their involvement in the protest against Netanyahu's government.
Shizuka: Who is Saori?
Akira: She was my first crush. We used to work together.
Kencho: Hey! Good to see you guys in one piece!
Akira: Kencho? Why are you covered in muck?
Shizuka: This is everyone in the village.
Soran (seeing the IOF withdrawing): They'll be back. The IOF will regroup and inform the Mossad of our whereabouts. Best we retreat to the bridge.
Kencho: What about the fence?
At that moment, Beatrix appeared on the wheel. Everyone got out of the way. Amazingly, the wheel smashed the electric fence. At last, they were free. Shizuka carried Eldest Ali. But there was no bridge.
Voice: Hey!
Soran: Jafar?
Jafar appeared and formed a new bridge with his wood.
Jafar: Looking back on my family got me thinking it would be worth it if I repay you. So I've built a new bridge!
Every refugee hurried across the bridge as Soran and Akira held the end. When everyone got across, Soran and Akira took a leap while holding on to the end of the bridge.
Akira (as they hit the edge of the cliff): MY LEG!
Soran: I'm okay.
The boys climbed upward.
Akira: Shapira must've felt lonely. I really lost myself during my career. I didn't know who I was or what I wanted. Well, I'm just glad you saved me from myself, Soran.
As they made it upward, Soran saw his father's hand.
Boulos: Glad you made it, son. Without you, your ammahāt and every last one of our people wouldn't make it. I'm very proud of you.
At IOF headquarters in Jerusalem, Allelujah was called to court martial.
IOF CO (in Hebrew): [It has come to my attention you acted on your own outside our district.]
Allelujah: [I've kept a promise to an old friend that we'd set aside our differences, sir.]
IOF CO: [You realize what you're saying is treason?]
Allelujah: [Only the truth.]
IOF CO: [I see. Amalya, you may enter. (Amalya enters)]
Amalya: [Whatever happened at the village, it was an accident. I must report to the Mossad.]
IOF CO: [We've been discussing the incident at the West Bank with Allelujah. I've been sent here to investigate the mishaps. I'm sure you can explain.]
Amalya: [It was an accident.]
IOF CO: [Is that your excuse, Séren? You've been so careful, have you. The truth is you've been so obsessed with the Hamas that you shot first and asked questions later.
Amalya: We need to contact the Mossad. Any further delay will be fatal.
IOF CO: The situation at the West Bank is no longer your concern. You are under arrest.
The Palestinians could finally retake their village. That evening, while Boulos was sleeping, Soran prayed by his father's bedside.
Khadijah: Everyday, your abbahāt would ask, "Have we heard from our son?", "Is he doing well?"
Soran: Well, in a world occupied by the Israelis…
Khadijah: No, not that. He started asking the day you left for Jerusalem.
Soran: If anything happens to you, Yāba, I promise I'll fight for our people. I'll do it for you!
Khadijah told Soran and his friends what Boulos had.
Akira: Hemorrhoid? That's all?
Khadijah: There are no hospitals within a mile from here. We can't get any help from the UN. But we mustn't ignore the hemorrhoid. He may get an infection.
Soran: If that's the case, it's best we contact the UN and get help.
Beatrix: What do you two wish to do when we leave the village?
Soran: If we can convince the Jewish community to protest Netanyahu, we can end the apartheid.
Akira: Yeah. I'd say we travel across country and bring some fighting spirit! Somehow, I'm sure we can find the money to cure the hemorrhoid. "Free Palestine!" "See the world!" Soran has that wish.
Boulos: "Free Palestine". We all do. I like it!
The Freedom Fighters Five wrote their list of things they wanted to do. They packed their food and essentials on the RV
Halima: Take whatever you need.
Shizuka: Thank you so much.
Neil: Hey Soran. Thanks for letting me have the copy of confession.
Soran: Don't mention it.
Angie watched as Kencho packed his bike.
Beatrix: It's going to be lonely here, huh. I think it's okay to be sad.
Angie ran up to Kencho crying.
Angie: Kencho, when you return, let me watch you strip!
Soran (as they get stocked up on the food): I don't think we will be needing this many.
Khadijah: It'll be fine. Just take it! For keeps! You shouldn't go hungry.
Boulos: It's high time you stay alive, Soran. Leave your mother to me.
Soran (as they prepare to leave): We're off now. Salaam.
Their battle was just the beginning
