5 months after Hiccup became Chief of Berk, the Warlords release a colossal being with immense destructive power to destroy the Riders. 10. Announcement

Hello, readers.

I want to let you know that I appreciate how much you enjoy this story even though I didn't expect such approval for my first crossover story. However, I plan to REWRITE this story and take it slightly differently. In the months and years since I've finished this story, I've been looking back on it and I felt kinda disappointed. I just ripped off the plot of KOTM and used it for my own purposes, which is the laziest and most unoriginal thing a writer can do.

But it's not just that reason that I wish to rewrite this. I had little character development and the entire plot was too fast. Even though it's cool to see (or read), this story was a bunch of giant monsters fighting with dragons involved and absolutely nothing else. Looking back, I consider this to be one of my worst works.

However, this DOES NOT MEAN I do not like the idea. There are very few crossovers between How To Train Your Dragon and Godzilla on this site, especially with the MonsterVerse. Heck, a world where dragons and kaiju live alongside one another is an awesome concept; one even my brother approves of. Also, the idea of Godzilla and his fellow Titans in ancient times is something that was never explored more in the MonsterVerse. The Titans were equivalent to gods back then, which meant they had to have worshipers like the OCs I had in this story.

This idea is what will propel me for my retelling, which currently has a working title called "The Coming Storm" (if you guys have anything better, let me know). I HAVE NOT BEGUN the rewrite and have only started planning it out with a larger plot, a sense of mystery, and many references to Norse mythology and religion in general while appealing to the educational and scientific aspects seen in the HTTYD franchise. Hiccup, Toothless, and the Dragon Riders will have a much larger role instead of being "along for the ride" and my tribes of Titan worshipers will be expanded upon more, including their relationship with each other.

As of now, my profile says that it is not a final decision, although I want to get to it so badly to keep this idea alive. Given everything in my life right now such as graduating college and moving on, I am not certain if this idea will come soon (even though I made a New Year's resolution to write multiple stories evenly while managing my real-life situations). I am keeping this story up in the meantime for the sake of you guys, but when this rewrite comes around, this story will be DELETED once I publish it. And hopefully what I come up with in its place can be a thousand times better than this copy-paste movie plot I did.
