Chapter 1: A Melodic Gift.
In the Koopa Kingdom, Bowser entered a nursery that had been lovingly decorated by the mischievous Shy Guys. The room was adorned with colorful toys, fluffy clouds painted on the walls, and a cozy crib in the corner. Bowser's eyes scanned the room, his heart filled with anticipation. In the center of the nursery stood Kammy Koopa, Bowser's right hand woman. She was hunched over a small cauldron, her wrinkled face illuminated by the flickering flames beneath it. Wisps of magic swirled around her as she carefully measured and mixed various ingredients.
As Bowser approached, the air filled with the enchanting aroma of the brewing spell. It had a sweet and soothing scent reminiscent of ripe peaches, invoking a sense of calmness in the king of koopas. Kammy, with her years of experience and unwavering loyalty to Bowser, was determined to make this spell a success. She knew the stakes were high, for this was a crucial part of Bowser's plan to bring Peach closer to him.
"Is it done yet?" Bowser asked.
"Patience my king. These things take time. Not to mention this is the first time I have attempted a spell like this. I don't want to risk making an error." Kammy Koopa said as she stirred a bubbling pink liquid in her cauldron. With each stir of her staff, the ingredients in the cauldron merged and transformed, creating a pink, bubbling liquid. The room seemed to pulse with an otherworldly energy, as if the very air was charged with magic.
"How soon do you think it'll be?" The king of koopas asked.
"As I said before. This is the first time I have done this. I can't say for sure." The magikoopa answered. Bowser begrudgingly waits. Time seemed to stretch as Bowser anxiously watched Kammy's every move. He knew that this moment held the key to his future happiness, his chance at a family that he had always yearned for. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Kammy's voice broke the silence. "It is done, Your Majesty," she said, her eyes gleaming with pride and excitement. A giant bubble rose from the liquid. Inside the bubble appeared to be a baby koopa human hybrid. Bowser's heart raced as he extended his hands to catch the bubble. The bubble popped and the baby rested comfortably in the king's hands. The child appeared mostly human with some koopa features. She had bright blonde hair, adorable horns, a cute little tail, and a spiky pink shell.
As Bowser cradled the baby in his arms, he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with joy. She was perfect, an embodiment of his love for Peach, and a symbol of the future he longed for. His plan was set in motion, and now all that remained was to bring the young princess, to her destined path.
"She's perfect. She looks just like her." Bowser said.
"What will you name her my lord?" Kammy asked.
"Berry." Bowser said, with a renewed sense of purpose, Bowser looked down at the baby in his arms and whispered, "Welcome to the world, my dear Berry. Together, we will make the Mushroom Kingdom ours, and your mother will see just how perfect our family can be." Then throughout the koopa kingdom, everyone celebrated the birth of the new princess.
Berry was instantly Bowser's favorite much to Bowser Jr.'s and the Koopalings' dismay. As Berry grew older her enchanting voice filled the halls of Bowser's castle with sweet melodies. Her singing, reminiscent of her mother's, captivated the hearts of everyone who heard it, including Bowser himself. They found solace in her melodies, feeling a flicker of something unfamiliar yet comforting within their hearts. However, to Jr. and the Koopalings the sound was grating.
While Bowser relied on Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings for assistance in his evil plots, Berry was spared from such tasks. She never had to lift a claw or participate in any of the dark schemes her father concocted. Instead, she spent her time outside, surrounded by the creatures of the kingdom, nurturing them with kindness and joy. In return, the creatures reveled in her presence, drawn to her melodic voice and gentle nature. She would sing to them; dance with the shy guys, and play games with them. Berry brought a sense of harmony to the kingdom that was seldom seen before.
Her interactions with the koopatrols and hammer bros were equally unique. Berry would make pink flower wreaths, place them on their heads, turning their intimidating presence into a more lighthearted one. Surprisingly, the guards didn't mind at all; she didn't torture them unlike her father and siblings. They appreciated Berry's innocence and the small moments of respite from their usual duties. Amidst the chaos and darkness, Berry became a ray of light.
She was mostly raised and mentored by Kammy. Berry grew to see her as a mother figure. She was fully aware that her siblings didn't like her, but she didn't understand why. One day during her lessons Berry sat at her desk looking at her test sheet.
"You're usually done by now. What's troubling you?" Kammy asked.
"Why am I learning magic?" She asked.
"When I performed the spell to make you, I gave you the ability to use magic. I always wanted to have someone to teach magic to. Besides, your siblings use magic." Kammy explained.
"Why don't they like me?" She asked.
"They don't trust you," Kammy stated.
"But why not? I'm very nice." She insisted.
"Well…that's the thing..." Kammy began. She thought hard for a moment before coming up with a suitable response. "You're not… normal," she said hesitantly. "Everyone here knows that. You're a lot different than any of us."
"How so?" Berry asked.
Kammy sighed heavily. She took a seat next to Berry's desk, "Your father doesn't treat you the same way he does your brothers and sister, because you aren't like them. Your dad treats you like royalty because of your mother." Berry nodded as she listened to Kammy's words.
"Who is my mother?" She asked.
"You probably don't remember. You were really little when your father told you. She's Princess Peach." Kammy Koopa said.
"Is she here?"
"She's not. She lives in the Mushroom Kingdom."
"Where's that? Is it nearby?" Berry asked excitedly. Kammy sighed as she looked at Berry sadly.
"No, honey, it's quite far from here." Berry looked disappointed at the answer.
"Will I ever see my mother?" She asked the magikoopa.
"Yes, my dear. One day you will. That's why it's important for you to learn how to use your magic. You'll have a special task to do for your father when you do meet her." Kammy said. Berry wasn't entirely sure what that meant, but she went back to her test. If Kammy said it's important that she knows magic before meeting her mother, then she'll take her word for it. Aside from her father. Kammy was the only one she was close to.
Meanwhile Bowser Jr. Brought the Koopalings to his room. At the beginning he wasn't thrilled about having a new sibling. He already had seven. What's even worse is that she became the center of attention throughout the kingdom. Something needed to be done.
"Ok, who wants her gone?" Jr. asked his koopaling siblings as they raised up their hands…except Morton who stuffed his face with chicken legs.
"Daddy gives her more presents than me! They look more expensive too! It's not fair! Not fair, not fair, not fair, not fair, not fair, not fair!" Wendy screeched while clenching her fists and stomping her foot.
"I was here first!" Ludwig complained as everyone looked at him.
"Oh come on, you know it's true. I'm the eldest." Ludwig said.
"I'm his only real son." Jr. said.
"I'm the strongest." Roy said.
"Even if we do want her gone, king dad is not going to let her go anywhere. She's the only one related to Peach." Iggy said.
"He isn't wrong there." Lemmy agreed.
"Imagine the look on Mario's face if he ever finds out." Ludwig says.
"I got it! We get one of the magikoopas-" Iggy began.
"To make Mario her dad!" Lemmy finishes.
"They're too afraid of Kammy to mess with her magic." Said Larry.
"I got it. We trick her to become a menace and total brat causing king dad to hate her." Ludwig says.
"That won't work! King dad will never hate her because Peach is her mom! Plus he'll know that we made her do it!" Wendy said.
"Dang it." Ludwig says.
"I got it. We capture Peach which will bring Mario here." Iggy said.
"Then Mario will take Berry and Peach away." Lemmy says
"Will he even want to take her?" Roy asked.
"It's our best shot. Let's do this!" Bowser Jr. says. Faint singing could be heard down the hall.
"She's coming! Quick, let's go so she won't suspect anything!" Larry said. Jr. and the Koopalings quickly left the room after he said that. Soon Berry found herself in the middle of the castle's foyer.
"Good afternoon Berry. I hope you are doing fine today." Her father greeted. Berry curtsied at her father.
"I'm okay sir. Thank you for asking."
Bowser smiled at his daughter. "She's so polite and sweet. Just like her mother." He thought to himself. "Would you like some tea Berry?" He asked, Berry nodded her head.
"Yes, please sir." She answered, Bowser goes out to the courtyard and orders a couple of shy guys to bring tea out. The shy guys poured them each a cup.
"Berry." He said. Berry looked up at him. "I brought you out here because. I've noticed your siblings treat you. I apologize for their behavior. They're still adjusting to having a new sibling."
"It's okay daddy..." Berry replied, she took a sip of her drink.
"No, it's not okay, and I want to make it right. How would you feel about going to the Mushroom Kingdom?" Berry gasped, taken aback. That's where her mother lived! She then remembered something.
"Kammy said I had a special task to do for you when I meet her. What does she mean by that?"
"Well, you see, Berry, you're a bit special. You're the most beautiful princess in the kingdom, and the koopas love you dearly." He replied.
"Really, Daddy? They do?" Berry asked.
"Of course, and I think it's time that you meet your mother so she can see how special and beautiful you are." Bowser said, a koopatrol handed Bowser a letter in which he handed it to his daughter. Berry opened it up and saw the message written in her mother's handwriting, not knowing that it was forged by magikoopas.
"Dear Sweetie Pie,
Your father always tells me stories about you whenever he comes to see me. Please come visit me in the Mushroom Kingdom. We can bake a cake together!"
From your mother,
Peach."
Berry was excited to go to the Mushroom Kingdom, and bake a cake with her mother! She looked up at her father.
"Please daddy, can we go?! When's the trip?"
Bowser chuckled at her excitement. "If you promise to behave yourself during your stay. You'll leave tomorrow morning."
"Why can't I go today?"
"Because we need time to prepare for the trip." Berry looked disappointed but understood.
"Okay, daddy."
"Hey, don't look like that. Tomorrow morning will come by before you know it. You don't want to look sad for your mother do you?" Bowser asked, Berry giggled.
"I don't, daddy."
"Very good. So it's settled. Tomorrow morning you'll leave. Bowser said while ruffling his daughter's hair, Berry clapped.
"Yayyyy! I'm going to see my mommy!" She squealed with joy and happiness. Bowser smiled warmly at his daughter while thinking about the plan. It was almost in motion. Once Peach is bonded with Berry, he'll ask the princess for her hand in marriage. He will soon have the family he always
