Chapter 4
Manuelmusical14: You'll see them soon. And thx.
Hc94436: I'm sorry but I'm not doing that. Please don't ask again.
Ainmals1: Thx for your nice observations, and glad to hear that.
The bird flew to Casita, and managed to find Mirabel's bedroom window. She had just walked into her room, and happily fell on her bed.
"That was the best time of my life." she sighed.
The bird looked at Mirabel, and Lorenzo and Esteban were able to see and hear what the bird heard.
"So is it confirmed?" Esteban wanted to know.
"Patience, hermano. We need more information." Lorenzo told them.
Mirabel then spent her time sketching in her book, humming the whole time. Then her door opened, and Pepa stepped in.
"Oh, hi Tia." Mirabel greeted happily.
"Sorry, to disturb you. I just needed to get some more of Antonio's things." Pepa told her.
"Okay, go ahead."
And she went back to her sketching. As Mirabel hummed, Pepa's nerves seem to calm.
"Nice song you're humming."
"Gracias, I had a nice day today."
That evening, when Mirabel went down for dinner, the bird followed her. She had a skip in her step, as she went down the stairs to the dining room. As she came down, she accidentally tripped and would've fallen, if Casita hadn't moved a bench over to catch her.
"Whew, thanks Casita." Mirabel told it.
Then she regained her balance, and continued to the dining room. Once everyone was at the table, they began eating.
"Well I'm glad to announce that the fountain is now working properly. Good job, everyone." Abuela told.
Everyone replied to her, while Mirabel stayed quiet.
"Mirabel I saw you flying with one of the wizards." Antonio piped up.
Everyone looked at her.
"Yeah, I was hanging out with Marcos." she informed.
"Yes, we also saw you." Augustin added.
"I hope you were being careful." hoped Julieta.
"Don't worry, we were fine." Mirabel assured.
Dinner went on normally, except Mirabel didn't pay much attention, she kept thinking about Marcos.
When dinner was over, Mirabel helped out with the dishes. Julieta noticed that Mirabel's mind seemed to be elsewhere.
"Something on your mind, Mira?" she asked.
"Huh, oh it's nothing Mama."
"Are you sure? It seems like your mind is elsewhere."
"No, I'm fine."
After she was done, she went back up to her room. As she went there, she accidentally ran into Isabela and Luisa. Flowers scattered everywhere, and Isabela looked very annoyed.
"Hey, watch where you're going." she snapped.
"Oh, sorry, Isabela. Sorry Luisa." Mirabel replied in a nonchalant voice.
And she walked on, leaving Isabela confused.
"What's with her?" she wondered.
"I don't know." Luisa replied.
The magical bird was then summoned back by Lorenzo.
Once the bird was back with the brothers, they knew their plan would work.
"All right, Esteban time to put this plan into action." Lorenzo told him.
"Right." replied Esteban.
They then went to Marcos' room, where they found him acting
"Marcos, we have a way for you to unlock your full powers." said Lorenzo.
"Really?" Marcos asked hopefully.
"Si, to unlock your full powers you must experience true love." Esteban explained.
"Really?"
"Yes, true love is the purest form of magic there is."
"So how do I do that?"
"Oh don't worry, hermano. We'll help you."
The next morning, Lorenzo and Esteban went to the Casita to speak with Alma. Lorenzo knocked on the door, and Alma answered it.
"Lorenzo, Esteban this is a surprise." she said.
"Hola, Senora Alma, we were hoping to have a word with you in private." Lorenzo said.
That intrigued Alma, and she invited them in. They went into the kitchen, and the Casita poured them all coffee.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" Alma asked.
"It's about our brother, Marcos. While he is a wizard like us, he doesn't have his full powers yet."
"Oh."
"But he's able to unlock them if he experiences true love."
"And we were hoping your familia could help."
"Well we're always happy to offer our services to the people, but I'm not sure how we can help with that."
"Actually we've noticed that Marcos seems to be...intrigued by your granddaughter Mirabel."
"Really?"
"Si, and we were wondering if we could...have Mirabel with us for a while?"
"Have her?"
"Not for a long time, just for a week or two."
"It could really help Marcos. And who knows maybe it could help your family too."
Alma thought about it for a minute, and remembered Bruno's vision of Mirabel possibly destroying the casita. If Mirabel left, then perhaps their miracle could be saved.
"Well I think that's a nice idea. But of course I'll need to speak to my daughter and Mirabel."
"All right, just let us know by the end of the day." Lorenzo said.
And then the two left.
"Now we wait." Lorenzo whispered.
That afternoon, Alma spoke with Julieta and Augustin.
"They want to take Mirabel back with them?" asked Augustin.
"Yes, they say Mirabel could help Marcos with his powers." Alma told.
"I don't know, Mama." Julieta started.
"That's a pretty big thing of them to ask."
Mirabel who was walking by, overheard the conversation.
"But it may be good for Mirabel. See the world beyond Encanto, and help others in her own way."
This confused Mirabel. What were they talking about?
"The Herrera Brothers want an answer tonight."
"We can't just let Mirabel go off with complete strangers. We've only known Lorenzo, Esteban, and Marcos for like a day."
Hearing Marcos' name, got Mirabel's attention and she listened more carefully.
"I'm just saying maybe it would be a good idea. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, to travel and help people."
"Well we should talk with Mirabel about this." Julieta mentioned.
"Mirabel could you come here please?" Augustin called.
Mirabel took a few steps, to make it seem like she was coming from a distance, then walked into the room.
"Yes, Papa?"
"There's something important we need to talk with you about." Julieta.
"Mirabel, Lorenzo and Esteban came to to talk to me this morning, and they'd like you to go back with them and Marcos." Alma explained.
Mirabel was shocked.
"They think you can help Marcos unlock his full powers."
"Now Mirabel, you don't have to do this." Augustin told her.
Mirabel couldn't believe her ears. She had a chance to go with the Herrera Wizard Brothers, and even help Marcos and be around him more.
"It's a very big decision, Mira. So if you need some time to think..."
"I'll go." Mirabel said quickly.
Her parents were shocked, while Alma looked pleasantly content. But little did they know, as soon as she said that, a small crack appeared in Castia's walls.
Alma went to the Herreras, and told them that Mirabel agreed to go with them.
"Gracias, Senora Alma." said Lorenzo.
"Thank you for doing this." Alma told him.
"We'll come by and pick Mirabel up in the morning." Esteban told her.
When she left, they went to Marcos.
"Marcos, we came to tell you that Mirabel is going to be coming home with us tomorrow." Lorenzo informed.
"Really?"
"Si, we think she can help you unlock your full powers."
"What do you mean?" Marcos wondered.
"Hermano, don't think we haven't noticed how you've been since you've spent time Mirabel." Esteban told him.
Marcos blushed a little.
"Well I don't know if she feels the same way, but it sounds like it could be nice."
"Perfecto." Lorenzo said.
Everything was falling into plan.
