No Such Luck…or Destiny's Deceit?
Ch 3: Lincoln's Unlucky Streak
It was another day, Lincoln got up from his mattress, went to the bathroom to take a bath, and went downstairs for breakfast. He knew what was going to happen afterwards, being dragged into his sisters' events for good luck. Granted, as much as he would like to take that thing off, he can't because his family will snap at him and tell him to put it back on afterwards. They made him wear the costume, even if it was a heaping hopping 90 degrees outside.
Lincoln turned on the TV, and saw the weather report for the temperature as of today.
"As of nine o'clock this Tuesday, the temperature will increase not higher than 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The same goes for the next 2 days, and the temperature will hopefully go down to 40 degrees by three in the afternoon today…" The news reporter on the television kept talking about what will happen today, when Lynn Sr. and his family got in the van then told Lincoln to turn off the television.
The 11-year-old Loud turned off the TV, and went with his family in Vanzilla. As they went to Lynn Jr.'s game, something stirred inside him. Lincoln wondered if his family still loved him after what happened just a couple of weeks ago, they have been treating him like a good luck charm since this bullshit happened. Lynn Jr. labeled him as bad luck, when she lost her game.
They arrived at Royal Woods Stadium at 10:00 AM, as they got out of the vehicle and went inside the stadium to find their respective seats. Before the game, Lynn Jr. told Lincoln to keep that suit on for the rest of her softball game. He sat near Michael, and he was surprised. He didn't know Michael had a lot of friends other than those three.
"Hey Lincoln, what's up?" Marvin greeted Lincoln.
"What's with the costume by the way?" Kate asked.
"Nothing, my stupid sister made me wear it for good luck." Lincoln replied. "By the way, I didn't know you have a lot of friends, Michael."
"They think of me as a cool and nice guy to hang out with, I got them when I was 7."
"Suuure…" The 11-year-old Loud turned his central focus to the game, watching as the teams braced themselves.
Lincoln pondered about his family. He just wanted some free time for himself, and this is what he gets? His sisters always wanted to drag him to their events, and a simple 'no' would set them off, talk about Lynn Jr. two weeks ago, she asked Lincoln if he can come to her softball game and he said 'no' because he wanted to take a break and do what he loves to do in his free time. The former threatened the latter to go to her softball game, her team loses, and Lincoln was the bad guy?
Even though she labeled him bad luck, Lincoln sparked an idea in his head and he could use the lie to help ban him from his sisters' events, since he didn't want to come to their events, why should they come to his? Every single day, Lincoln was peacefully chilling in his room until one of the sisters (Lola, Lori, and Lynn Jr.) barged into his door to get him to do insignificant tasks for them.
Lynn Jr. added more fuel to the fire by spreading the lie to everyone else. The situation got to the point where Lincoln was banished from his room, then he slept outside (much to Charles' irritation). The next day, the situation worsened when he was forced to have breakfast outside and not to go to the beach. In the United States, if you kick out a child at an age below 18 years old, you will mostly get slapped with a prison sentence for some years. All parents and legal guardians have a legal obligation to provide necessities like food and water for their children.
Lincoln then took the suit's head off, to regulate his body temperature. Lynn Jr. then told Lincoln to keep the suit on, much to his irritation as he put on the head of the suit. Marvin was irritated as he showed some of his teeth.
Sooner, Lynn Jr. finished her game and she was at first place today. Her team lifted her high up in the air, as she relished in her victory..
In secret, Michael's friends were talking to each other.
"They kicked him out of the house over a bad luck excuse? That's so low of them to do that…" Kate whispered.
"Dude, that's harsh…" Marvin replied.
"Lynn Jr. looked at him as the main cause of the problem." Michael said.
"Why? Did she lose her game? What does it have to do with Lincoln?" Louise asked.
"It's because of his bad luck, like dude, luck doesn't even exist, you know?" Stephanie answered.
"She's delusional, should we send her to a therapist?" Jennifer asked, pointing at the fifth daughter of the Loud family.
"Maybe not, but a simple beating will do, if at all circumstances, will happen." Elijah added.
"Seriously, Elijah? You want a fight between those two?" Stephanie asked, worry setting into her veins. "What if someone gets hurt?"
"Pssh, it will be totally fine, Stephanie, besides, a fight will be a show to watch, plus, Lincoln might get his revenge on Lynn too." Robert answered, when Louise hit his back. "Ow! That hurts!"
"Do you really want somebody to get hurt?" The girl asked.
"No, of course not, Louise! I'm not a bad guy!"
"Good, but we should be heading to…" Marvin pulled out the list given to him by Lincoln, he crossed off Lynn Jr.'s games. "…Lana's alligator wrestling competition."
They all got in the van, and headed to Lana's alligator wrestling competition, and as the car sped off, the screen gradually turns black.
NEXT DESTINATION:
LANA'S ALLIGATOR WRESTLING COMPETITION
The van arrives in the alligator wrestling site and as the car's engine turns off, everybody got out of the vehicle and looked around the place. Something stirred inside of them, the sight of alligators everywhere made Michael's stomach churn.
Lincoln and Lana proceeded to get out of the car, along with Lynn Jr., Lori, Leni, and the parents, Lynn Sr. and Rita. William and Olivia, along with Elizabeth and CC came into the scene.
"Rita?" Olivia called out to Rita.
"Oh, hey, Olivia, what are you doing here?" Asked Rita.
"We're just here to see your daughter win." William smiled.
"Thanks for your compliment, my friend." Lynn Sr. put a hand over William's shoulder.
"You're welcome."
Lincoln kept his suit on, and watched as Lana went against one of the strongest teen gators in the world. It was released out of its pen, charging at the little girl. She did a backflip and much to the gator's confusion, it tried to find her when it realized she was on top of it. It tried to do a death roll, but she managed to tie its mouth shut.
Lana got off the alligator, then waited for it to roll on its back. When it did, she took this as a moment to hog-tie the reptile. Her parents praised her for her achievements, as Rita kissed her cheek and Lynn Sr. patted her head. William and Olivia smiled and clapped, as they went to get Lana's trophy.
Elizabeth and CC smiled at Lana for a moment, when they heard Lincoln swear as if he was in deep trouble. As luck would have it, one of the gators escaped from their den and looked at Lincoln with the look of a killer in their eyes.
"Gator on the loose! Gator on the loose!" Someone yelled.
CC's pupils shrank smaller than normal and tears form in his eyes, as the reptile approached Lincoln slowly, and the boy felt his blood run cold as he ran. The gator got him from his leg, and flailed him around like a ragdoll. "AH, SOMEONE HELP!" Lincoln yelled, as he hammered at the gator's head.
Michael then grabbed a stick and quickly ran to save Lincoln. "Don't worry, Lincoln, I'm coming!"
CC quickly fled from the scene to find his parents, and tears leaked out of his eyes as he kept running. Elizabeth shouted. "MR. LOUD, MRS. LOUD, PLEASE HELP!"
"Get that fucking gator away from Lincoln!" Elijah said as he quickly rushed into the scene and pried the gator's mouth open. Once he held the gator's mouth, he grunted. "ROBERT, HELP ME HERE!"
Robert quickly ran to help Elijah as he grabbed the other jaw of the gator. Michael kept hammering at the reptile's head, until his father arrived in time to help him.
William pried the gator's mouth open for Lincoln to escape, but the 11-year-old Loud was sent flying three feet when it bit off the tail. Confused, it looked miffed as to why it didn't taste meat in the tail, realizing the fake squirrel, it saw another human. Its predator instincts kicked back in when it saw Lincoln, slowly approaching him. He almost becomes alligator food when Michael hits the gator's head, making it go back to its den.
His nervous system was left in a constant state of shock, and his eyes shrank smaller than normal.
CC was adamant on leaving his mother's side, so is Elizabeth. Lynn Sr. ran to his son, waving a hand over him.
"Son? Are you OK?" Lynn Sr. asked, worried.
"I'm totally fine, Dad…" Lincoln replied, as he got up with a blank face, put on the squirrel suit, and went to the car.
Marvin crossed off Lana's competition, and quickly got into the van. Everyone was in the car, and they sped off to Leni's fashion show.
Once they arrived, they got off the car and went to their respective seats. CC clung to Lincoln, sleeping next to him after all that crying. Leni was showing off everyone the latest fashion trends, when something almost fell on her. Good thing, it didn't fall, but to Lincoln, it was just a bag of rocks suspending the object. Once she was finished, everyone cheered and clapped at her for achievement.
Lincoln got on the stage, and the stage lights fell on him. Laying on the ground, he was bleeding from his temple, and his parents quickly proceeded to call an ambulance.
In the hospital…
Rita was sitting next to him, when he woke up from his slumber.
"Hey, honey. Are you feeling well?" The mother asked.
"I'm fine, Mom, anyways…let's go to—" The middle child replied when his father came into the scene.
"No, no, we aren't going anywhere, today was quite traumatizing for you, so we'll go straight home." Lynn Sr. replied.
"How about my digging competition?" Lucy asked her male parent.
"We'll call it off for today, your brother has been through some scary things." Rita said to her daughter.
"Thanks, Mom and Dad…" Lincoln said to his parents.
To be continued in Ch 4…
A/N: Sorry if chapter three took a long time to publish, I lost motivation and I did this just now. It also complies with the reason I'm working on two fanfics at the same time, and I got most of the chapters done in my first story. Sorry that Lucy's digging competition was called off for the day, but I had to because Lincoln had been through traumatizing things in his life. I know people have traumas, so if they had a trauma, they'll just go relax for a bit. Enjoy the chapter, you can also bring food with you while reading this chapter. That's all for today, and peace out.
