A/N I'm back with another chapter. Sorry it took so long but school stressed me out beyond belief. Please excuse any grammar or spelling errors and enjoy.
Chapter 3
Rukia sat down and waited for Ichigo to start the questioning. While she waited for him to straighten his desk she looked around the room. It was a huge office, no surprise there but it was filled with books. Rukia was never into reading unless it was a cookbook. She sighed inwardly. She had no idea if she was going to get this job now. She was confident until she saw the office and saw she could relate to nothing. Aside from the books he had family pictures posted on his wall and desk. Well, he was a family man at the very least.
"So I have your resume here. It says you are twenty-nine and you graduated college with an associates degree. Is that all? Have you worked anywhere before, are you good with children? Have you ever had a babysitting job before? How can I trust you with my kids if you can't even prove or provide information to that?" Ichigo asked sternly.
Rukia took a deep breath; she's done thousands of interviews before and she may have not gotten the job but she would be damned if she lets the interviewer get the best of her. She deliberately didn't put on that she was a baker; she didn't want to seem as if she couldn't get a job in her own field. She looked Ichigo in his eyes and smiled.
"Well to answer the important question. I am very good with children. I grew up with three siblings. I am the second oldest. I would have to babysit and watch them at a young age. I would never harm or put your children in danger ever. I love kids and if I was your Nanny I would treat them as if they were my family." Rukia answered politely.
Ichigo gave a small smile and Rukia almost missed it. Ichigo took his glasses off and set them to the side and looked Rukia dead in her eyes. To say she was intimidated was the understatement of the year. It was as if he was looking deep into her soul as if he was looking into he thought reading her mind to see if she was worthy to take care of his kids.
"I have two daughters who are very special to me Mia is six and Hana is five but she is a unique case. My past Nanny's were fired and dealt with in the worst way when I found out they were mistreating her."
Rukia gave Ichigo a look of disgust at the mistreatment of a five year old. She was sure after the explanation that she was probably special needs of some sort. Rukia was fine with that hell her brother was considered special needs not because he was albino but because of his mental issues.
"Sir I can tell you this now I would never in my life mistreat any child. If she requires more care that is fine with me. You can bet your bottom dollar that I would never abuse or hurt your daughters."
Ichigo smirked, "Hmm it's refreshing to have someone from Karakura work for me. You start tomorrow."
Rukia's eyes widened as she had to contain herself from jumping for joy. She stood up and bowed thanking Ichigo for the opportunity.
"Oh not a problem my men will be at your place to pack your things."
Rukia gave Ichigo a confused look, "Umm excuse me."
Ichigo sighed and put his glasses back on, "So you didn't read the live in Nanny part did you?"
Rukia shook her head, "My apologies, I must have missed it."
"No matter I have your address here I will send men to your place soon. Come back here around oh five so you can meet the girls. Oh what type of car do you drive I need to tell the guards and have Ran'Tao make you a workers badge."
"Oh well umm I don't have a car. My family drove me here today for moral support but I usually take the bus." Rukia stated.
Ichigo nodded in understanding, "Well alright then go and enjoy your time with your family. I will see you back here at five."
Rukia thanked him and bowed once again.
"Oh and one more thing Rukia. If I get a whiff of you mistreating my kids or putting them in any type of danger. Your family will have a hard time finding and identifying your body, do you understand?"
Rukia shuddered a bit and was not going to look scared in front of her new boss. Rukia gave a stern nod.
"Crystal, you are a devoted and crazy father. I understand completely."
Ichigo laughed and turned back to his work dismissing Rukia. She closed the door to his study and couldn't help but smile. Oko came walking up to her with a glass of lemonade and a very faint smile on his face.
"Congratulations miss. I will assume we will see you back here later today."
Rukia smiled and thankfully took the lemonade. She sipped it as Oko escorted her to the front door. She handed him the lemonade thanking him and said she'd see him later. Oko bowed and then shut the door. Rukia walked to her family who looked to be bickering and got in the passenger seat. They all stopped their fighting and looked at Rukia waiting to hear the good news. Rukia shook her head causing them to go and hug her.
"I got the job!"
Shirayuki screamed and hugged Rukia as hard as she could, pulling her into the driver's seat a bit. Hisana and Homura jumped in the front and piled on Rukia and Shizuku patted Rukia's head. Rukia explained that it was a live-in Nanny situation to which Shizuku clapped.
"Oh cool you get to live here, rent free nice."
Rukia nodded, not thinking about that part. Once everyone got settled Shirayuki started driving to the ice cream bar. Hisana huffed saying it was too chilly to get ice cream and asked if they could just get a quick lunch. Everyone said no and Shirayuki headed to the ice cream parlor. Hisana ordered a lemonade while the other ordered three to four scoops of different ice cream. Shirayuki then got to Rukia's now old apartment. Everyone got out and went to help Rukia pack. Lucky for her she didn't have much to pack. Hisana and Homura packed her bedroom necessities while Shirayuki got her bathroom and Shizuku packed her kitchen. The guys Ichigo sent waited outside the building until they were told to come up. Once everyone was done with their respectable room Rukia sent them up to collect her stuff. Rukia looked around and looked in sadness as she was going to miss her little apartment but she could barely afford it at the moment so maybe one day she could come back but until then she was moving on to being a Nanny. Her family was happy Hisana asked if she needed a ride back to Seireitei. Rukia looked at the time and saw it was hitting four and nodded. Hisana took the wheel and dropped everyone off at Shirayuki's house. Hisana then drove Rukia and herself to Seireitei. Hisana blasted pop music loudly much to Rukia's dismay.
"So you're excited?" Hisana asked.
Rukia gave a small smile, "Truthfully I am happy for the job but I wish it was a job I wanted and not needed."
Hisana turned down the radio and sighed, "Hey you want to know something. I hate my job. I love Byakuya but I hate being an assistant. Hell, I hate business to be completely honest. I wanted to talk to Byakuya about becoming a fashion designer but I don't want to disappoint him."
Rukia stayed quiet Hisana never spoke about wanting to switch careers but she and her family could see that the job was making her a bit sad. She didn't know she wanted to be a fashion designer but it made sense to her since growing up they never had the finer things in life and Aunt Shirayuki taught Hisana to sow to stitch up their old rag tag clothes.
"I admire you, Hisana and I believe you can do it. If you want to change careers then do it, we aren't getting any younger you know."
Hisana giggled, "That's true."
Hisana talked a little more about her passion to create clothing and before they knew it they were back at Ichigo's place. The guard let them in remembering them from earlier. Hisana gave Rukia a hug and a head pat telling her to be careful. Rukia thanked Hisana and then got out of the car. She looked at her phone and saw it was four-fifty five. Rukia knocked on the door and Oko answered. He looked at the time and smiled.
"Early again I see. Let me show you to your new room."
Rukia nodded and followed behind Oko. When he started walking up the stairs Rukia damn near cried. She was out of shape and she had no idea if she could walk up all those stairs. Reluctantly Rukia followed behind Oko and lost her breath on the tenth stair. She heard Oko chuckling which caused her to turn red. Oko walked the stairs gracefully and without needing to stop. He walked her up to the third floor and walked her down the long hallway. Rukia looked around at the beautiful white marble floors and the amazing white porcelain walls. She was astounded at how amazingly beautiful the mansion was. Oko walked to the very end of the hall and opened the door. Rukia was expecting a normal looking room but what she got was a room fit for a queen. The room was super spacious and the bed had to be king size. The walls were painted white and the room had a flat screen TV hoisted on the wall, a desk and chair on the side and a bookshelf hoisted on the wall left of the bed by the desk. Rukia gave Oko a look.
"This is my room?"
Oko laughed, "Of course your things are already in here just waiting for you to set them up. There is a bathroom attached here so you don't have to leave your room to find the bathroom. You have your tv and desk if you need it for your computer etc. Bookshelf it's filled with books but if you want I can get you an empty one so you could fill it with your own selection of books. Oh but it is hitting five-fifteen. I must be going. I have to finish preparing dinner. Master Kurosaki should be downstairs waiting for you anyways. Come now."
Rukia followed behind Oko, still a bit amazed that the room was hers. Oko continued to explain to Rukia that she had no reason to be shy and if she ever needed anything that she shouldn't hesitate to ask. Rukia was very grateful for Oko's kindness; she expected him to be pompous and not like her but he had been the most helpful and nice to her. Instead of walking down the stairs Oko walked Rukia over to an elevator. He chuckled as she glared at him. They went down the elevator and instead of being greeted by Ichigo Oko and Rukia were greeted by two little girls. One had orange hair and purple eyes. She was short and wearing a cute little pajama set with stars on them. Her hair was short in a cute little orange bob and her skin was tan just like Ichigo's. Behind her was a smaller girl. She had long white hair and her body was almost as pale as her aunts. She had golden irises and she was wearing a cute black night dress. Rukia couldn't help but smile. She guessed that the special part about Hana was that she was albino. Well she was lucky to come from a family of albino's. Mia held her sister's hand and walked up to Oko and Rukia.
"Oko who is this?"
Oko bowed, "Well lady Mia this is Rukia she is going to be your new Nanny."
Rukia bowed, "Nice to meet you both."
Hana peeked from behind Mia and walked up to Rukia to shake her hand. Rukia frowned a bit, noticing she still had on sunscreen and it was starting to drip due to the temperature in the house. Hana noticed the frown and quickly scurried back to Mia. Mia frowned and puffed her chest out.
"Why do you look at Hana like that? You think she's a freak huh!"
Rukia snorted a bit but gave Oko a look, "Umm Oko it is way too hot in here for Hana she's dripping and on top of that she's still wearing sunscreen it's five-thirty and you're in your pajamas you're suppose to have your night creams on."
Hana's eyes widened a bit, "How did you know I didn't change into my night creams?"
Rukia gave Hana a stern look, "Well for one my brother does the same thing and he's in his twenties. Can't get that past me, I'm too experienced."
Oko gave Rukia a pointed look, "You are used to dealing with people who are albino?"
Rukia laughed, "Well yeah my Aunt is albino and so is my brother. Growing up we had to take special care of him and my aunt too she was forgetful at times due to stress. Plus that's why I'm a little paler than usual but I'm not considered albino."
Hana looked down, "I don't know how to put on my night creams very well."
Rukia gave Mia a look, "Mia as her sister you have to help her you have to be there for her even if it's a simple thing like creams. Your sister's skin is very sensitive and must be taken care of with the utmost care and love."
Mia huffed, "Well I don't know how to put them on."
Rukia nodded, "Alrighty then I'll show you." Rukia turned to Hana, "Do you mind if I put on your night creams Hana?"
Hana shook her head, "No ma'am I would much appreciate the help."
Rukia looked at Oko and saw him grinning, "Their room is on the fourth floor. I will turn the heat down and find Master Ichigo and tell him dinner will be a little late."
Rukia nodded and let the girls lead her to their shared room. While walking she didn't notice Ichigo coming out of the shadows nor did she see Oko giving Ichigo his nod of approval. Rukia helped Hana into the bath and washed her body of the horrid sunscreen. She combed through Hana's hair and found Hana's creams in the cabinet. She showed Mia the creams and what they were for. Mia took interest and made sure to take notes. Once Hana was done Mia found her sister a nice little purple nightgown and Rukia helped her in it. Hana thanked Rukia giving her a hug whereas Mia gave Rukia a high five. Once Rukia was done they all went downstairs to a much cooler house. It didn't bother Rukia or Hana but Mia was shivering a bit.
Oko greeted the girls and escorted them to the dining room table. Rukia thanked Oko for his generosity and sat opposite of everyone. Oko served dinner and sat next to Rukia giving her a reassuring smile. Ran'Tao and Ichigo walked into the dining room and sat in their respectable places. Ichigo sat in between Hana and Mia and Ran'Tao sat next to Oko. Rukia saw a plate next to Mia and wondered who they were waiting for. Throughout the dinner Ichigo asked Rukia more questions and told her that her duties would include getting the girls ready for school and helping them with where it was needed. Rukia acknowledged her duties and tried her hardest to avoid the glares she was getting from Ran'Tao. By the end of the night the girls went upstairs saying goodnight to everyone and Ran'Tao left to go check on some things. Oko cleaned the table and went to follow behind Ran'Tao. Rukia looked at the plate still there and Rukia asked Ichigo who it was for. Ichigo had his usual stoic look and started to get up.
"That is for my other child Yumi. She's fifteen and a nonfactor."
Ichigo then bowed and made his way to his study. Rukia stared at the plate and frowned. How could Ichigo say his daughter was a nonfactor. It made Rukia upset beyond belief that a father would make that statement about their kid. Rukia decided to pay it no mind and to leave it alone until she had all the facts. She took the elevator to her room and looked at the time. It was nine at night. It was too late to unpack but she wasn't sleepy yet. So she checked out the books on the bookshelf and not to her surprise she could find anything she liked. She huffed and decided to connect to her Netflix's on the tv and to watch some more of her drama tv show. She ended up falling asleep around eleven at night. She slept peacefully that night. The bed was soft, it was like a cloud. She had wonderful dreams but unbeknownst to her she had no idea what she had gotten herself into.
A/N Sorry for the delay, school got me stressed. I didn't forget about this story. I swear I wanted to update as much as I could before school started back up. I will be updating parent life before Christmas I think. I just started a powerpuff girls story on another profile and I have been busy with that and trying to still update these stories. But please review and comment and tell me what you like and what you don't like. I hope I can add one more chapter to this before New years. I hope you guys enjoyed it and I'll see you through the screen.
