Hey, hey!
Seems like the site is coming back together. Nice to see notifications again. Oh, FYI I do have a AO3 account as Opal_chan! Someone PM'd me letting me know about said account, don't worry, it's just me! Opal is my birthstone lol.
So, Hinata is now pregnant! The mission with Akatsuki is dealt with and now we are approaching our last bridge before the end of the story. After this chapter, it will be nice for two chapters. However, this last arc is all about trauma and healing. So after the next two chapters, it will be angst central for a bit. Of course, since the story was built around this whole final arc.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed last chapter (probably my favorite chapter I wrote for this story). I also, hope you enjoy this chapter!
"Stop asking me if she is okay Naruto. You asked me ten times in 20 minutes and she's FINE." Neji sent Naruto an annoyed look. "She just needs time to heal. She has two fetuses in her. From you AND Sasuke. You two knuckleheads are enough to weigh any woman down."
Sasuke sent Neji a heated stare after watching the defeated look on Naruto's face. "He's asking a question. Don't talk to him like that." Neji matched Sasuke's stare. "Or what?"
Kakashi came in between the young men. "Alright. Alright you three. Everything's fine. Everyone is fine. Threat is eliminated. Even that Zetsu fellow. Obito is knocked out and sealed away. Restricted from his chakra, thanks to Naruto and Lord Fourth. Lord Jiraiya has him in one of his scrolls while we travel back home and Hinata is sleeping peacefully on Naruto's back as he carries her. Everything is FINE. Stop acting like children because you're giving me a headache."
Not only did Kakashi have to see two people from his past, that left serious scars on his mental. He just found out Hinata was on a mission pregnant, and she had to fight for her life, and her unborn babies lives, from Obito. Kakashi was stressed and just wanted to get back to Konoha.
Neji looked over at Naruto, who did indeed not intend to annoy Neji. Naruto was a hyper and excited person and also, Hinata was in a hostile environment in early pregnancy. That was VERY risky what had just happened. So, if Neji was in Naruto's position. He'd exhaust his own Byakugan to check on Tenten every 10 minutes.
Neji sighed and once again checked Hinata. He activated his Byakugan and focused on his sister. "She's fine Naruto. So are the two little life forms. Chakra signatures start to form around eight weeks. One has a strong sense of fire. It's red and very forceful. Hinata has fire nature element, like you Uchiha, but it's not as dominate. So, obviously that fetus is yours. The second to my surprise is blue, it's heavy with chakra. Calm though, which confuses me because Naruto is…not calm. A nice mixture of Naruto and Hinata. Still both fetuses are coated with chakra from Kurama. That is very obvious, and the main reason I could trace the cause of Hinata's fatigue so easily."
Naruto looked at Neji and smiled. He could tell Neji felt bad for being angry earlier and snapping. "Thanks Neji." Said person grumbled as he continued walking. Ignoring the stares from everyone else attached to the team. "Just don't ask me anymore until we reach home."
Sasuke looked from Neji back to Hinata. A small smile couldn't help but make it to his face. She was pregnant. She was having THEIR children. This stubborn, life endangering woman was going to have his children. They were going to start their family soon.
Some things had to change.
Sasuke wanted children with Hinata, but he wanted Hinata to get the proper help first. Pregnancy wouldn't hinder Hinata from seeking counseling. Sasuke just knew Hinata. She was a busy bee. She'd still want to be as active as possible. Recovering from her mental wounds and carrying twins, while keeping her stationary would prove to be a problem.
Sasuke blinked when he felt an arm sling over his shoulder. He looked over and saw Kakashi walking calmly beside him. "Don't worry. You guys won't be going through everything alone."
Naruto watched as Hinata shuffled in her spot on the couch. It was a family session and her therapist asked for Naruto and Sasuke to be present today. It was a good opportunity for Hinata to express herself, the therapist said. For Hinata to tell them things she would usually be too reserved to tell them.
Naruto was beginning to think this was stupid.
He felt like Hinata opened up to them way more than she did this therapist. Hinata never was someone to talk and open up to people she didn't know. Therapy was something Sasuke stressed though, so Naruto wasn't going to voice his displeasure with this.
"Okay Lady Uchiha-Uzumaki. You're almost out of your first trimester. How is that all going for you? Are you sleeping better?"
Hinata shuffled again on the comfortable couch. She ended up leaning back on the couch and looked at her therapist. She was older than Hinata. Maybe Kakashi's age. "It is going well. Thank you for asking. My sleeping is a little better."
Sasuke and Naruto both looked at Hinata. Sasuke frowned at her, "Better?" Hinata blushed at his attention and rubbed her small baby bump. "It's…actually about the same ma'am." Her therapist smiled at Hinata before looking at Naruto and Sasuke. "Are you guys aware of what brings on her lack of sleep?"
Sasuke looked at the therapist sideways, "Pregnancy? I don't know that's why she is getting therapy." Naruto gave Sasuke a look that told him to cut it out before he smiled at the therapist. "Isn't it pregnancy symptoms to go to the bathroom frequently. Right? Especially at night?"
Both Naruto and Sasuke looked annoyed when Hinata's therapist said nothing and started to write in her notebook. "Hmm. Yes and no." Finally she looked up and smiled at Hinata. "I was hoping you could tell them about your nightmares Hinata."
Hinata avoided Naruto and Sasuke stares. "Yes well umm. As you know every ninja has nightmares. That's what we were talking about last session." Her therapist continued to smile at her. Already use to Hinata making excuses. "Yes, but do your husbands KNOW your nightmare's. Like you know theirs. It's okay to tell them what you fear."
A stubborn look crossed Hinata's face before she puffed her cheeks. Her therapist continued to give Hinata this calm expression. "This is usually the wall I hit with Hinata. If I push too much, she clamps up like this. Maybe some encouragement from either of you will help her break through."
Naruto looked at Hinata's cheeks and watched how they started to get red from her being so flustered. "Hinata. Calm down. You can tell us." Sasuke looked at her slightly offended that she was closing up on them the same way she closed up on her therapist. He could understand her therapist. She was new to Hinata, but him and Naruto. No. "Stop. Don't do that."
Hinata shot Sasuke a look like she didn't want to do this. That she didn't want to do therapy, and that he was making her do this. It was really a very rebellious behavior from Hinata. She didn't get angry. She played sympathy. Sasuke shook his head as he looked at her, "No. Not this time. You promised me."
Hinata's eyes widened. Memories of her promising to do this if Sasuke and Naruto would marry her. She looked at Naruto with the same wide eyes. Naruto smiled at Hinata before leaning his forehead against hers. "A promise, is a promise Hinata."
Said person, leaned back and gave Naruto the cutest puppy dog eyes he's ever seen. He wanted to give in. Naruto wanted to say fuck this therapist and to pick Hinata up bridal style and leave, but the fact Hinata was acting like this meant she needed this. She needed to stay. "No Hinata."
Finally submitting to them Hinata turned to look at her therapist. "I had a nightmare last night. That I was on a mission. Ordered to gather intel on a missing-nin location and if I was given the opportunity. Kill them. This missing-nin was a murder for hire ninja that killed over ten Konoha-nin. In my dream I was able to find my target. They were a missing-nin for over six years. They built a life for themselves. Had a family. Just doing what they had to do to survive, and provide for their family. In my dream, I caught him. At the river in a vulnerable position, fishing with his children."
Her therapist furrowed her brows and leaned forward to look at Hinata. Naruto and Sasuke looked at Hinata because this story sounded familiar, but Hinata didn't tell them children were involved. She hid that from them, and it was eating at her.
"I killed him. I was in Anbu in my dream. I killed him and I made sure there were no witnesses. No chance of someone coming back years later to avenge him and harm my family. Then I realized something." Hinata paused as she leaned over and made the hairs on the back of the therapist neck stand up.
"I realized it wasn't a dream. It was a memory. I have many memories that haunt me. Do you want to know all of them?"
Slightly unnerved. The therapist still kept eye contact with Hinata, but her smile faded. "As you know. Your brother referred you to me. I am his therapist. He's granted me permission to kind of cross reference you two. You both grew up together. In the same environment, and went on many missions together."
Hinata's shell around her only hardened. "Yes."
In return her therapist simply nodded her head. "Okay. Let's talk about your real nightmares. The same ones Neji has. Hinata, I've been a therapist for many ninja's. While hearing the details may be unnerving, it is my job to truly help you through it."
"I wish to not speak about that." Hinata's breathing was slowly starting to pick up. She was much too composed to get angry, but this lady was pushing it.
Naruto and Sasuke frowned at Hinata, but the therapist held up her hand to stop them. This was fine. This was normal for people with trauma. "Okay. No rush. Let's talk about your father at least."
Hinata felt Naruto reach for her head and squeeze it. Sasuke's eyes never left her. She listened as her therapist continued her question. "After your father died. I've heard from your brother a part of both of you died. Neji's sympathy. His humility of the world. Do you feel that way as well Hinata?"
Hinata shook her head. "My brother is too observant. He has a big heart and loves, in his own way. He is a good person and an amazing father. Neji deserves the world because it was taken from him at such a young age. A…part of Neji died, but I feel like all of me died. So everyone else had to die too."
Sasuke's eyes widened. What did Hinata mean by that? Naruto listened to Hinata and stared off in thought as he could feel her squeeze his hand for support. He squeezed back.
The therapist slowly nodded her head as she looked intently at Hinata. "So, we will discuss the list you and Neji have. He said you two started it about two years ago. Is that list empty now Hinata? That list that you acquired from the councilman." Hinata slowly nodded her head before looking back at her therapist.
"I…I was going to stop. I wasn't going to complete the list. Naruto and Sasuke convinced me not to. I listened to them. Then my father died. Then I was in so much pain and I became very angry. After I healed, all I could think about was finishing it. So, I did. I died inside when I lost my father, so I wanted them to die permanently."
Her therapist slowly nodded her head. Noting how both her husband's put this mask over their faces. She could tell they were waiting for this session to end to really talk to their wife. "I've heard your father was a cruel man. Your clan was cruel. Especially to you Hinata. Yet, you've gotten a lot of blood on your hands for them. You joined Anbu. Your brother said you never wanted to do Anbu. He remembers very specifically what you said you wanted to be when you two were young. Do you remember?"
Hinata squared her jaw and looked to the ground. "I wanted to be a teacher a-and a mother."
That innocent life she wanted, but her family took that life from her. They made her into something she never wanted to be. Hinata held her growing belly protectively, "I…I don't think I can be like my mother. I-I-I-I'm t-too m-much like my f-f-father." She shook her head as she looked down at her feet. "My father being disappointed in me. Me becoming an addict. I did this to myself. I couldn't control myself. I couldn't control my urges. I never will."
Naruto shushed Hinata and leaned her into his embrace. "Don't say that. It's in your head. Get out your head Hinata."
The therapist leaned back and waited for Hinata to collect herself. She noticed that Hinata wouldn't cry. She wasn't fully committed to this yet, because she hasn't shared everything yet. She still had her shield on.
The only person in this world that could get Hinata to tell her secret was her enabler. Neji.
"Some people were forced into the life of a ninja when they didn't want to be. Just to make their family proud. Very common in prestige clans, like your own. I want to tell you something, for you to think over. Okay?"
Hinata nodded her head as she looked at her. "Your kidnapping that happened twice. Will never leave your mind. The blood on your hands will constantly shuffle through your head, frame by frame. You chose to go down this paths. You never ended up being that loving teacher. It eats at you. It feeds into your urges to drink. You say you'll never control it. That's because your urge to drink came from being forced into a world you never wanted to be a part of. That was your coping mechanism. You haven't learned to properly cope Hinata."
The therapist looked down at her notes and then back at Hinata. "All the pain you've endured. From family and enemies. You didn't sign up for that. You feel ugly inside. Like a monster. That alcohol made the pain AND the sorrow go away. Your nightmares are memories that tempt you to drink, every time you close your eyes. That's why you feel as if every day is a battle. It's okay to admit your life was stripped from you. Your childhood. What you wanted to be. By the very person that was supposed to love you and encourage you to be whatever you wanted to be."
Hinata shook her head as she looked away. Refusing to let a tear escape. "I cannot blame my father for what has happened in my life. He was ruined early on. He…" She held in a sob as she looked at the gray carpet. "He wasn't always like this. I swear. He did love me…I…I don't understand why he stopped."
Even though Hinata refused to cry. Naruto didn't. He wiped away two tears as he listened to his wife break down. He knew Hinata had a rough past. He knew about her father, but he didn't know she was struggling so hard to find peace. She never really talked about it.
Her therapist looked at Hinata firmly. "Hiashi hurt you. Physically and mentally Hinata. What your father provided you was not love. You cannot decide to love your child on and off again."
Hinata grew upset. She looked at the lady in the chair with a deep frown. "He didn't hurt me." Her father was dead. She wouldn't do this to him. She wouldn't bad mouth him. He protected his family until his last hours.
Sasuke took Hinata's chin and gently guided her to look at him. "He did Hinata." She looked at him hurt. He wasn't trying to hurt her, but Hinata would close up in this session again and go mute if they weren't firm with her.
"No Sasuke. You're wrong. Please don't say such things about him."
Sasuke frowned. "Hinata. I'm not bashing him, but he was WRONG." Hinata feverishly shook her head. "No! He loved me! He said it on his death bed!"
Sasuke now held her face with both of his hands. Looking at her firmly. "Yes. He loved you, but he was WRONG for what he did to you. He was wrong, for hurting you. For making you think training should be so brutal. For letting your family tear you down. For tearing you down himself. Demoralizing you. For not letting you try to be what you wanted to be. For making you believe you were at fault for your uncles death. For not being there for you when your mother died. For torturing you until he thought you were strong enough. He loved you Hinata, but he was a flawed man. You…CANNOT raise our children that way."
Hinata turned from Sasuke and took a deep breath. She held it in still. Not willing to let a tear shed in front of the therapist. Too much pride to break down at the moment. Naruto and Sasuke wanted emotion from Hinata, but right now she was acting like a Hyuga clan leader. Not like their pregnant wife. "How do I fix this? I do not want to feel this way anymore. Can you make this all go away?"
Naruto let out a sigh. She wasn't going to admit anything about her father out loud. She wasn't going to talk about this trauma causing her and Neji nightmares. Hinata thought this could all be buried and never talked about and she would magically get better. She was still in denial.
Her therapist smiled at her before she looked at Naruto. "Don't worry. It takes multiple sessions to reach a point where partners start seeing results. Most of our sessions will be private, I only asked for Hinata's spouses to come along to help with her defensive wall she put around herself. You two handled it well. You were able to break her wall down. All you have to do now, is allow her to grow."
Sasuke couldn't help himself when they got home from the therapist. Hinata kept a safe in their bedroom in the wall behind a basic painting. Sasuke had asked Hinata for the combo when they got home, and gave her a look saying if she gave him even an ounce of being stubborn, he was going to lose it.
So she gave him the combo the first time he asked.
Sasuke and Naruto usually gave Hinata her space and didn't go into her things. However, after everything that has gone on. Orochimaru, Akatsuki, the scandals. Everything. They just had to know what the hell Hinata has been doing while they were gone.
Naruto laid on the bed and watched as Sasuke pulled out countless documents and scrolls. Reading through each one until he finally found one of the things he was looking for. "This is what Ino extracted from Orochimaru for you. Why didn't you tell us this is how you planned to kill Danzo?"
Hinata was mute as Sasuke went through the safe. This further fueled him up as he pulled out more papers. "Bribes. Threats. Family locations. Finance statements of people on and off the council. For fucks sake Hinata."
Naruto looked at all the documents Sasuke threw out and let out a heavy sigh. "Look. Sasuke. There is NOTHING we can do about this. It all happened while we were gone." Naruto then turned and looked at the mute Hinata that was lying on the bed with him.
"That being said. Hinata…this isn't happening again. No more. You're not doing this evil nonsense ANYMORE. If you do. We better know about it. Every step of the way. Do you understand?"
There better not be a next time, but if there is. Naruto and Sasuke didn't want to be blindsided like this again. In three freaking years Hinata went rogue.
Hinata was in a stubborn mood. However after looking at Naruto and then looking at Sasuke. Their frustrated faces, that gave her the warning that they were losing their patience. Hinata lowered her defenses and let out a heavy defeated breath. "O-Okay. You're right. It won't be happening again. I promise."
Sasuke let out a sigh. Accepting this apology and promise. For now. He ran his hands through his hair and shook his head as he walked over to the bed. Fuck. He knew Hinata did some illegal intense things, but not on this caliber. He didn't know while they were gone that she had sunk so low into vengeance.
Sasuke wanted to call her and Neji nuts so badly right now. Considering both Hyuga's were in therapy, he opted against it.
Hinata laid in their bed in the middle. Naruto and Sasuke on both her sides. She was staring at the ceiling in silence. She just made dinner and cleaned up the kitchen. They all cleaned and showered up. Hinata was silent the whole time.
Sasuke laid on his pillow as he looked at Hinata. "You're still angry with me?" Hinata turned her head to look at him confused. "Because I made you go to therapy."
Hinata closed her eyes and sighed when Sasuke leaned up and pressed their foreheads together. "No. I see why you did it."
This made him smile.
Naruto's hand roamed Hinata's mini baby bump. He smiled when he could feel the flutters and the small chakra signatures coursing through her body. "I'm glad you think it's worth it now Hinata. I was on the fence about the whole therapy thing too until today. I didn't know you were hurting that much Hinata. I'm sorry for not noticing."
Hinata smiled at her belly as she saw movement stretching her tummy. "I always wanted to be a mother. Now I question if I can be a mom. A good one." Naruto kissed her belly and looked at her with his mix matched eyes. "You will be. I was shocked about the whole teaching as a dream job. If you got a snot nose kid like me, I'd have to beat that kids ass."
Hinata giggled at Naruto. Her eyes lit up because he put himself in the world of her never being in tune with their ninja lifestyle. "What? You don't think I'd find you Hinata? Someone as beautiful as you? I'd find you in a heartbeat and ask you out a million times until you said yes."
She covered her face as a deep blush surfaced. Sasuke leaned over and whispered in her ear, "I'd find you. I found you before. I'd find you now. I'd find you in any life time."
Hinata was feeling woozy from all the affection. She couldn't take much more from them. "Too much!" She giggled and gushed as Naruto held her hips and was relentless on his affection he was giving her. He kissed her red ears. He moved her hands and littered her face with kisses. "Never too much Princess!"
Sasuke started to fan Hinata with his hand as he did indeed see her start to get a light sweat and turn bright red. Hinata hasn't fainted in a while, but she looked like she was taking the journey into passing out now. Sasuke couldn't help himself from commenting, "You're so shy."
Naruto laughed as he finished his assault against Hinata and molded his body to her side. He was in a cuddle mood right now. So drawn to Hinata and Sasuke. One of his tails wagged in the air freely and the other was sliding across Sasuke and Hinata's bodies. "I like it. I won't have to worry about becoming jealous or someone overstepping their boundaries with you."
Hinata giggled at his silliness and leaned over to give Naruto an eskimo kiss. "You'd never have to worry about such a thing Naruto-kun. You or Sasuke-kun." Naruto smiled at how dedicated Hinata sounded. "Good."
Naruto grinned as he looked at Hinata. His multicolored eyes bore down on her and his ears twitched as he looked at her. He pressed against her more possessively and nibbled on her ear. "You don't want me to go crazy. I don't want to do that Princess." He gave her a big kiss on the cheek and watched as Hinata hummed at what he said. She liked it.
Sasuke watched as Naruto's whole mood changed and how he was so affectionate. Naruto licked Hinata's cheek that he kissed, and started to suck on the spot he licked. He was still pressed against Hinata and had an arm wrapped around her. Sasuke watched Naruto's tails, as they both danced behind Naruto in excitement.
Naruto couldn't control himself. He was practically dry humping Hinata through their pajama's.
This baffled Sasuke. This had to be Kurama's dominating instincts kicking in. "She's already pregnant. No way you're in heat or something." Naruto shook his head as he listened to Sasuke. He continued to hold Hinata and trail his kisses to her ear, where he nibbled and licked around her lobe. "No. I just have this urge to…comfort her. Make her feel how I feel."
Naruto being this close to her, touching her all over and leaving kissing trails was actually relaxing Hinata. Her body submitted to him and she closed her eyes to enjoy the affection. Naruto had always wanted to give someone all this love he kept bottled up, and Hinata always wanted to feel such love.
Sasuke watched how Hinata melted. If he was in Hinata's shoes. He'd quickly grow annoyed with the affection and want his space. He wasn't much of an affectionate person, but he saw how it made Hinata happy. He saw how this was making Naruto happy.
Sasuke leaned over and kissed Hinata's other cheek. He didn't bite down on her cheek, but he sucked and licked on it. He caressed her body and pressed his body against hers as well. Sasuke leaned over and stroked one of Naruto's tails that wandered close to him. Being tender and gentle. To show he appreciated Naruto too.
This is something Sasuke thought would result in sex. Typically was the only time he was this affectionate to them, but it didn't end that way. Did he have an erection right now? Yes. However, seeing Hinata in a relaxed state and fall asleep peacefully in their arms was worth it.
She slept through the night. She didn't wake up once and wasn't faking it either. Naruto held them both possessively with his tails. It was warm, and Naruto knew Sasuke and Hinata both got cold easily. It was comforting and Sasuke would actually admit it was something that he really enjoyed and didn't know he actually needed from time to time.
Just comfort. Love and affection.
He'd only want this from Naruto and Hinata.
Therapy sessions got easy after that day for Hinata. Two months have gone by and her communication has grown better. Hinata's shy and stubborn demeanor turned to a more loving and caring one. She was glowing and they saw the difference.
Still. Hinata wouldn't talk about what happened behind closed doors when she was a child. Naruto and Sasuke were waiting on that, but until then, they wanted to see that list.
"I still don't understand why you won't show us the list. You keep acting like we'll forget about it." Sasuke sat out their back porch early in the night. It just became dark out and dinner was done. Naruto cooked this time. He actually got pretty good at cooking. He made Ramen, but it was okay. They didn't eat like that often at all.
Hinata sat on the porch and let Sasuke lay his head down on her lap. She rub his head affectionately and smiled calmly at him. Her gentle nature had returned. It had vanished while they were away training and when her father passed away. Now Hinata was much more in control of her emotions. The dark chakra and her internal thoughts.
Naruto was laying on Sasuke's stomach and smiled as he could hear the sounds going on in Sasuke. He looked at Hinata as well. Waiting for her reply.
"It's complete. How do you know I kept the list?" Hinata smiled at Sasuke. Almost in a teasing manner. He looked up at her as she gently ran her fingers through his hair. "Because I would if I were you. Show us."
Hinata was wearing a white robe. She stuck with white a lot because her father usually wore a greyish white robe and Neji liked light tan. Pure white suited Hinata. It amazed people how she never stained her robe. She held her robe up and out came her scroll she sealed her bow and arrows in.
Sasuke watched as she unsealed the scroll and dug into it. Finally pulling out a tattered document. "Here." Naruto and Sasuke sat up. Sasuke took the scroll and Naruto leaned over Sasuke's shoulder to read what was on it.
8 names. Each name crossed out for every person that opted to initially veto Hiashi, before Danzo threatened them. These were the genuine people that opposed removing the Hyuga seal. Beside each name crossed out were how they died. Drowning. Heart attacks. Suicide. Whatever Hinata could use to make it seem like an accidental or natural death.
Naruto leaned forward as he saw names written beside each person.
Neji
Hinata
Hinata
Shikamaru
Ino
Neji
Shikamaru
Hinata
Naruto looked at Hinata and the corner of his lips twitched from suppressing a smile. "I get the big secret now." Sasuke saw check marks next to each name to show it was complete. "You're covering for them. You're covering for each other. You all did the killings."
It all made sense now. Neji and Shikamaru's closeness. Ino and Hinata's strong bond. They all had a secret in their inner circle, that they were all willing to take to the grave.
Hinata hummed as a reply. She watched Sasuke hand her back the paper and she secured it away. Never to be seen by anyone else again. "We had our own reasons. Shikamaru is a politician at heart. He helped me, as long as I helped him. I never veto anything he brings up to the council. My solid vote makes his chances of passing whatever he wants very good. Ino handled the medical records as well. She ruled the deaths. This is…this is the life of politics."
Naruto nodded his head impressed. "You guys are badddd." He looked at her and tilted his head. "So. When was the list completed?" Hinata placed her finger on her chin in thought. "While me and Neji were busy with taking over after my father died. Shikamaru killed the second to last councilman. Ino came to me that day she delivered Orochimaru's report, to tell me Shikamaru killed him. Danzo was the last one, and I ensured he died last and the worst."
Sasuke grunted, "He damaged your face. Death was the only option he should have had." Hinata gasped at what Sasuke said, and he gave her a bland look in return. She couldn't be serious. "Thank you for finally sharing this. I felt like this was a missing piece."
Sasuke leaned forward and kissed her. One of his big, full kisses that made Hinata get butterflies in her stomach. Naruto took that opportunity to lay in Hinata's lap and get her attention. She giggled at this and started to massage Naruto's scalp. He hummed at the attention and stared up at her. "I love you Princess."
Hinata smiled adoringly at him. "I love you Naruto-kun. I umm…I wanted to make sure. Are you and Sasuke-kun happy? Here? Living at the compound forever. I feel as if the decision to live here was to cater to me and I did not want to put that lifetime burden on you two."
Naruto looked at Hinata like she was being silly. "Nice to ask us that after we move here. Marry you and put babies in you." Hinata blushed a little embarrassed. "Naruto-kun."
"Yes Hinata. I'm very much happy here. I know I complained in the beginning, but I like it here. Your clan has grown to be family to me. They are some quirky, interesting people. Earlier, I uhh, I couldn't get over what they did to you growing up. I had to understand that wasn't all of them and not everyone on this earth are good, nice people. After I adjusted. I really started to like it here and got pretty comfortable. Plus the way your family welcomed Sasuke's brother, really helped me see them differently."
Hinata smiled at Naruto before she looked at Sasuke and waited for him to give his opinion. He was sitting cross legged beside Hinata comfortably. Sasuke looked at her and shrugged his shoulders. "Quirky is Naruto being nice. Your family is very odd and too traditional. Unemotional people that run like a business instead of a family. Sometimes I want to put your brothers head through a wall for constantly getting smart with us and almost ruining our marriage ceremony. Your sister is all bark and barely any bite. You and Neji still baby her too much. However, that being said. They make you happy, so this is the place I will be forever until you say otherwise."
Hinata smiled at Sasuke while Naruto frowned. What the hell was that? That was so freaking rude on many levels. To Hinata though, that was the nicest thing Sasuke had said about her family. "Sasuke-kun." She looked so happy and satisfied with Sasuke's answer. This baffled the hell out of Naruto. Hinata and Sasuke's connection was rather different then his connection with Hinata.
Sasuke and Hinata could connect with their darker thoughts. Naruto wasn't a fan of being dark 24/7. He couldn't think too dark too often, because he wasn't very good at being a functional depressing person. Hinata and Sasuke could function very well and be depressed or down.
If Naruto was having a bad day. Everyone would know.
Mainly because the older Naruto got. The more he wanted to express how he really felt. He didn't want to hold things in anymore. He learned it was okay and that he didn't have to put on a brave, stupid face to please people.
Naruto smiled as he looked at Hinata's stomach. Life was inside of her. Two lives. Precious people to expand their family. "Hinata. How many children do you want?" Sasuke's attention was immediately caught because this has been something he wanted to know since he was 13.
Hinata smiled down at Naruto and immediately knew the answer. "Four. More than four and it would be difficult to give them the proper attention in my opinion. What about you? What do you and Sasuke-kun want?"
Naruto looked at Sasuke because it was more important to Sasuke than to Naruto. Naruto just wanted them all to be healthy and happy.
Sasuke looked at Naruto for a moment before he looked at Hinata. "Four is good. That's my minimum, but I can understand how tedious it is for a women to carry. Plus you are a working woman. Running a clan. So four would be fine."
Naruto looked flabbergasted. Babies cried a lot. Super loud when they were upset and Naruto knew for a fact he had not one parenting bone in his whole body. He was winging this. Praying the soft nature would at some point sink into him when the babies were born. Plus, he couldn't imagine Hinata's small body popping out more than five children.
For fucks sake Sasuke. Let Itachi 'rebuild' some of the Uchiha clan. It's the least he could do.
Hinata looked at Naruto, who just shook his head in entertainment. "I would have been happy with one. Two is a bonus. Four would…definitely be enough for me. Five is my limit. I wouldn't want you to go through that after five. I mean, I'll have plenty of time with you guys anyways."
Hinata and Sasuke looked at Naruto a bit confused and he just grinned at them. "Granny is giving the sixth Hokage title to Kakashi. Which I think is a good idea. I'm no leader right now. I don't have the political knowledge and level head that Kakashi has right now. I'm young and nothing like my father. I'm a hot head and I need to make a better name for myself. If it comes, it comes. If it never comes then I could care less. Finding out you were pregnant while out on a mission was a MAJOR mental turning point for me Hinata. All I could think about was how I have to be better for you and Sasuke. You and Sasuke were injured, all I wanted to do was protect you two. Just like now."
Naruto rubbed Hinata's growing belly and smiled. "How is achieving my personal dream going to do that? Other than my title. I would be busy all the time. Leaving you and Sasuke with a lot of responsibilities with the kids, because I know me. I'll throw everything I have into being Hokage and I wouldn't do good juggling being a father. I want to do better mentally, physically and emotionally. I want to be the best for you two. For our family."
Sasuke was always shocked when Naruto had these deep, emotional moments. When Naruto was serious, and could see things at a bigger picture, and not just 'I'm gonna be Hokage one day. Believe it!'. At the same time. Sasuke knew the decision for Kakashi over Naruto probably really bothered Naruto.
Strength wise. Naruto knew he trumped. Kakashi did have maturity and knowledge over Naruto. The whole being better at politics was debatable. Kakashi avoided politics as much as possible, but he was a very likeable person. However, Naruto and Kakashi were both likeable. Other than maturity. To Sasuke, he felt like it was more so who Tsunade wanted to be Hokage. How she deemed Naruto not ready.
Hinata placed a hand on Naruto's cheek. "I support whatever decision YOU believe is right Naruto-kun. If that's what you believe is right, then I support it. I just…I just want you to know you and Kakashi are both highly qualified ninja's for the position. You are no less than him, or anyone else in this world, Naruto Uzumaki."
Clearly Sasuke and Hinata had the same thoughts going through their heads. Naruto smiled at Hinata as he looked up at her. "Aww Princess. Don't get all over protective of me. You either Sasuke. I'm fine. Plus, I think sensei took the role mainly because he wanted me to have some freedom and enjoy the people I love. That job takes a lot out of people and we want a big family. Trust me when I say I'm going to enjoy our time just living and growing."
Naruto sat up and kissed Hinata. Taking her breath away. He surprised Sasuke with his tail as it wrapped around them and pulled Sasuke closer to him and Hinata. Naruto and Kurama. Were possessive beings. Every chance of every minute if Naruto or Kurama could stamp that Sasuke and Hinata were theirs. They would.
Sasuke watched as Naruto licked Hinata's lips and she opened her mouth so Naruto's sinister tongue could invade. Naruto grinned into the tongue dance. Naruto was someone that could work himself up, and not have to have sex. Sasuke was the opposite. Sasuke learned that the first time Hinata gave him an erection unintentionally, when he was a teenager. That awkward moment he had to cater to it.
Hinata always just went with the flow. She was happy with any type of affection. She deprived herself of love and affection for so long. All the TLC Naruto and Sasuke gave her was happily accepted.
Naruto finished with a big kiss to Hinata's pink lips. He smiled at her and stared at her with hooded eyes. The three continued to cuddle on the porch for the rest of the night. Enjoying one another and planning their future.
End of chapter.
So, I hope you were able to catch the foreshadowing. The little bit there was. About Hinata and Neji. It will come, the one person Hinata trusts more than her husbands, will be the one to expose their past. Hinata cannot fully heal until she admits it, and it will get worse before it gets better unfortunately. Sometimes that is how trauma works.
Again, I love Sasuke being level headed. I would think if he didn't sink into vengeance and lose his entire mind for a while, that he would be somewhat like this. More of a clear thinker.
The list. It is FINALLY exposed after many chapters (I lost count). To your surprise it wasn't just Neji and Hinata alone. There was a reason Shikamaru and Ino were so close to them. Naruto and Sasuke are about to fully be introduced to the world of politics. This you will see in the next two chapters.
Naruto was passed up on Hokage, and he's fine with it. I guess I've made this Naruto more observant of what it takes to be a parent. So unlike my story 'Choices' Naruto won't struggle that much with it. Also, I fully enjoy the Naruto/Kurama, multicolor duo. How they've taken lead of the pack and protects their mates at all cost. How Naruto sensed the comfort Hinata needed and instead of turning it into sex, he made it sensual and loving. (Gushing moment!)
Obviously Kakashi still doesn't want to be Hokage, but he sees his kiddos growing up and he's like 'fine', I'll do it for them.
Next chapter is a couples chapter. Lemon and just being in love. See you Wednesday!
