Transformers Prime: No Autobots Are Idiots.

Chapter 5: Luna Nova.

(Transformers Prime Universe #192,394,596,203,495,867,019,183, eighteen years later, Monday, January 11th, 2010, third person POV...)

A large green and red motorcycle with a size accommodation for humans drove down the tunnel to Autobot Outpost Omega One.

True, the turns were tightly sharp, but they were able to be taken easily, and that is because this motorcycle is actually Ratchet's daughter, Luna Nova.

Luna Nova stops in the main command center and transforms to robot mode, showing her to be on par with her father's height.

She looks around, and she sees no one except for Cogwheel.

Luna says, "Cogwheel, Dad, I'm back!"

Cogwheel turns his attention to Luna Nova even as Ratchet crawls halfway out from the underside of the computer console.

Ratchet replies, "Hey, Luna. Pass me a wrench, please."

Luna grabs the nearest wrench which Ratchet apparently needed, and she asks as she hands it over, "Don't tell me: the computer's still having problems again?"

Ratchet replies, "Yep."

Ratchet then goes back to fixing the console.

Several loud grunts came out, followed afterwards by a crash of metal onto metal and a series of colorful Cybertronian fireworks.

Ratchet then comes out and asks, "Luna Nova, you're smaller, correct?"

Luna Nova replies, "Yes, why?"

Ratchet answers, "Well, do you think you can help your old mech out? The scrapping computer's fritzing again, and it won't pick up any signals because of a broken wire, but I can't reach it."

Luna politely takes the offered wrench, drops gently onto her backplate, and crawls to the underside of the computer monitors.

The maintenance panel was already open, and she scans the wiring and data chips for anything out of order.

Then she spots the problem: one wire was stuck in an alternate port, and another was torn.

Luna asks, "Can you please get me the welder?"

Ratchet hands it to her and asks, "You can reach the broken wire?"

Luna replies, "Affirmative."

She uses the wrench to reattach the wrong wire back into its proper place, and she uses the welder to weld the broken wire back together, thankful that Smokeedge's magical and scientific tinkering with her and Ratchet's tools and abilities allowed them to not only fix broken equipment out of human technology while simultaneously using the reverse-engineered versions of standard Cybertronian technology he along with his army and the Nightowl Trines went back in time on Cybertron to the distant past before the war to purchase large amounts of Cybertronian tools and equipment – with permission from Vector Prime and while also paying double to make sure that everyone else kept it quiet – but also allowed them to summon in their subspace compartments unlimited amounts of additional tools and pieces of equipment.

Luna then says, "Aha! I did it!"

Luna crawls back out and hands her father the welder and wrench back.

Ratchet gives his daughter a grin and hugs her gently while saying, "Nice job, sweetspark. I know I don't get to do much with you these days, but even aside from maintenance and repair work, I'm glad that you're able to help me out."

Luna replies before saying, "Thanks, Dad. Wait, you got a bit of grease on your left cheekplate."

Ratchet feels it and wipes it off.

Ratchet then questions, "How was patrol?"

Luna then says, "The standard wildlife and humans."

Cogwheel then says as he puts the maintenance panel back in place, "I think the computer should work properly now, but I do recommend we get Solus with her Forge to upgrade the computer to prevent similar problems from happening again."

Ratchet replies, "Agreed, Cogwheel."

Luna then inquires, "And where are the others on the roster? I didn't see anyone else on the way back."

Ratchet replies, "Optimus and Bulkhead are still on patrol, Bumblebee and his relatives went for a drive, Arcee, Cliffjumper, Tailgate, and their lookalikes are around here somewhere, and the others are setting up construction of emergency fallback headquartered places in case the Decepticons find our current base."

Later, in the SAFE, Luna spun around, slashing upward and sideward with her wrist blades, slashing downward and upward with her blades, and kicked and punched hard, aiming for Cliffjumper's chinplate.

Cliffjumper easily dodged the kicks and punches while blocking the strikes from Luna Nova's upgraded blades.

On the last block, Cliffjumper knocks Luna back with a pushing outward motion with his arms.

Luna backflipped backwards some before doing front flips and cartwheeling out of Cliffjumper's line of sight.

Cliffjumper asks, "Huh? What the?"

Luna tackles Cliffjumper before throwing him into the nearest wall.

Cliffjumper gets back up, but he gets his chestplate caught by a powerful blast from Luna's neutron cannon.

Cliffjumper blubbers before saying, "Whoa. Nice shot. But you don't have the strength to fight a mech my size."

Luna replies, "Too true, but sometimes, defeating a mech your size takes more than mere muscle; it takes skill, patience, wits, speed, and stealth."

Cliffjumper replies back, "True."

After another three minutes of training, Luna Nova managed to win the match.

Luna remarks, "Looks like I win."

Arcee remarks, "And you did everything according to the rules. Nice job, Luna."

Luna takes a bow, making Arcee roll her optics.

Optimus then enters the SAFE and says, "Autobots. Listen up. Ratchet has detected a fresh Energon signal from an Energon deposit. As everyone heard their names being called and assembled, Optimus gestured them to follow him to the command center even as Smokeedge questions, "Optimus, who do you have in mind for the commanding officer of this mission?"

Optimus answers, "I have Arcee in mind."

Smokeedge replies, "Understood."

Arcee remarks teasingly, "You seem eager to take orders from me."

Smokeedge frowns as he replies back, "Not funny."

Optimus then says while ignoring the banter, "Now, unless one of you is damaged, Arcee will be ranking officer, and if one of you is indeed damaged, Luna Nova's word as ranking medic takes priority."

Luna Nova remarks, "Really? I'm the chief medic for this mission?"

Ratchet replies, "Why not? You've acquired more than enough training for the job. And I couldn't be prouder of you for succeeding me."

Luna Nova replies back, "I won't fail you, Dad. I guarantee it."

The Autobots are bridged to the Energon deposit at the Valley of Fire State park.

Arcee then says, "Let's move it up. The sooner we do this, the sooner we can finish before the Decepticons come back."

Smokeedge replies, "Statistically speaking, the Decepticons aren't going to receive any transmissions from Megatron about him returning until another 3 months pass, but I understand the gravity of the mission."

Arcee replies back, "Good to hear, Smokeedge."

After a quick scanning of the area, the two hundred Autobots manage to transform to robot mode before going into the Energon deposit.

Cliffjumper then says, "Okay, unless I missed my guess, some Energon might be in each of these various sized rocks."

Assault Star then says, "Logically speaking, we will have to use our laser beam emitters on low power settings to cut through the rocks without detonating the Energon."

Tailgate remarks, "Smart thinking, Star."

Assault Star and the others deploy their laser emitters, provided by the Forge of Solus Prime, and they laser-cut through the fifty big and small rocks to get to the largest and smallest Energon crystal collections, which took five minutes with everyone working together.

And it took another six minutes to laser-cut ninety more rocks to get more big and small Energon crystals.

Orange Beetle then says, "One hundred and forty various sized rocks times one hundred and forty crystals. That might make nineteen thousand and six hundred Energon crystals."

Cranefly then says, "That might be more than enough for our Energon Refiners invented by Fortressimus' use of the Forge to make seven hundred and eighty-four thousand Energon cubes."

Everyone else replies, "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" "Wow!" Deep Dive says, "All right, let's get going before humans show up, and before the Decepticons decide to show up three months early."

Luna Nova then contacts the base, "Dad, we got enough Energon crystals for our Refiners to make seven hundred and eighty-four thousand Energon cubes. We're ready to bridge back to base."

Ratchet replies, "I copy that. You'll bridge back to base from the arrival coordinates."

The Autobots manage to get back to base without much hassle.

In the base, Optimus inquires, "You said we now have enough Energon crystals for our Energon Refiners to create seven hundred and eighty-four thousand Energon cubes?"

Alpha Trion then says in response, "Yes, we did say that, Optimus."

Optimus looks over the Energon crystals being held by Cliffjumper, Tailgate, Arcee, Luna Nova, Orange Beetle, Abundplus, Accordion Bus Prime, Adhoc, Aegis Vanguard, Aeridash, Aeroazor, Aero Raid, Afterbreaker, Afterburner, Afterburst, Aimless, Air Prince, Air Raid, Airazor, Airwave, Akiba Prime, Alan, Alpha Bravo, Alpha Supreme, Alpha Trion, Amazon Prime, Aquafend, Aragon, Arc, Arcana, Arcdegree, Arclight, Argent Raider, Armco, Armorhide, Artfire, Ashtray, Aspen, Assault Star, Astral Knight, Astrotorch, Atlan, Auburncrack, August, Aurora, Autoceptor, Autojetter, Autolauncher, Avalon, Avatar Brave, Azimuth, Backburner, Backfire, Backstop, Backstreet, Balkwhacker, Bantor, Barksnap, Barrage, Barrel Roll, Basher, Battleway, B.B., Beachcomber, Beachtank, Beta, Beta Maxx, Beta Supreme, B.H., Big Bang, Big Bump Prime, Big Daddy, Big Hauler, Big Shot, Birthwings, Blades, Blast Master, Blaster, Blastwave, Blazejet, Blazemaster, Blazing Meteor, Blossom, Blowpipe, Bluebash, Bluefly, Blueshift, Bluestreak, Bodyblock, Boltax, Bombast, Bombhit Blaze, Boomer, Bookbrow, Brainstorm, Brake-Neck, Brave Maximus, Braver, Brawn, Breacher, Breakaway, Broadside, Brontobot, Brontodrive, Brontoton, Brooke, Buckshot, Bucketbutton, Bulkiron, Bumbleswoop, Bumper, Bustroll, Caliburst, Callisto, Cameo, Caminus, Camshaft, Cannonspring, Cargohold, Catilla, Cerebros, Cerise Wraith, Chainclaw, Chaindrive, Chase Racer, Checkpoint, Cheedor, Chela, Cherub, Chevalier, Chromatron, Chromedome, Chrysothemis, Citadel, Citadel Secondus, C.L., Clampstop, Clash Chopper, Clash Steel, Clear-Cut, Cliffover, Clocker, Cloudburst, Cloudraker, Cloudskulker, Code Red, Cog, Cogwheel, Coldwelder, Condain, Converter, Countdown, Cosmic Scratch, Cosmos, Cosmowing, Counter Arrow, Cracksmasher, Crankhandle, Crashbar, Crispbore, Croaton, Cromar, Crossblades, Crossclover, Crosshairs, Crosswise, Crouton, Cruiser, Crumble, Crunch, Crushdash, Crystalcar, Cutrazor, Cyancloud, Cybaxx, D-Go, Daredevil, Darkshadow, Dashshot, Dashwaver, Daytonus, Deaddevil, Deadgripper, Deadthroat, Deceptor, Deep Blue, Deep Dive, Delta Supreme, Desire, Detritus, Devcon, Devisiun, Dibbleborer, Dimday Dancer, Dimicron Prime, Dimshot, Dion, Distempt, Doctor Steam, Dogfight, Doublecross, and Smokeedge before saying, "Well done, all of you. These one hundred and forty crystals to make seven hundred and eighty-four thousand cubes will be able to increase our stockpiles for a long period of time."

Smokeedge then says, "Yes, but we're still gonna have to use my Mini-Forge and my team's Mini-Forges to invent Matter Duplicators to greatly multiply our Energon stores."

Ratchet asks, "Why, Smokeedge?"

Smokeedge answers, "One, because using our Matter Duplicators to power ourselves, our weapons, and our equipment is a smart decision due to the fact that the Earth's Energon deposits and Energon mines aren't unlimited. And second, what's to say we wouldn't need the Energon to deal with damaged personnel? And third, what's to say we wouldn't need Energon to either provide for new Autobot arrivals or to provide for any Decepticon ship's cache of protoforms to bring them online?"

Optimus replies, "That's... actually a series of good points."

Ratchet then says before asking, "Also, Nightimus told us about the three primary humans who will end up becoming our allies around the time of Darkness Rising Part 1. What should we do with them?"

Smokeedge replies, "Simply put, from what I can gather from their memory banks, we should have them registered for U.S. military training in computer science, medicine, martial arts training, weapons training, communications, espionage, speed, and so forth that United States soldiers, Chinese Kung-Fu fighters, and Japanese ninjas are trained in. But at the same time, we need at least three bots to keep a close optic on Miko Nakadai in particular."

Optimus asks this time, "Why?"

Smokeedge answers, "Foremost, because Miko, due to her inferiority complex, her reckless love for adrenaline and adventure, her disregard for school and military authority, and her hatred of her boring life in Tokyo, Japan among other things makes her liable to constantly sneak through the Ground Bridge and charge headfirst into Autobot and Decepticon conflicts. What I recommend doing is the following: first, modifying the Ground Bridge's transmission procedures to prevent Miko from dashing through the portals undetected, in the sense of never leaving the Ground Bridge open for longer than needed for safe transportation no matter how many Autobots go through the portals. Secondly, for every one of us, we have to check ourselves and our environments in the future from Darkness Rising Part 1 afterwards on both sides of the Ground Bridge portals before continuing the missions. Thirdly, if optional, have someone watch Miko and shout at her if she so much as flinches."

But Optimus interrupts to say, "While that may be an option, children do no respond well to being shouted at."

Arcee replies back, "From what I was told about disciplining an Earth child, that depends on how well or how badly they were raised, that depends on the status of their maturity and mental health levels, and that depends on which mental disorders they have integrated into their organic brain modules, either inferiority complexes, autism, Asperger's Syndrome, anti-social personality disorder, sociopathy, a lack of empathy, remorselessness, and/or a complete disrespectful disregard for authority and rules."

Optimus frowns as he realizes, albeit reluctantly, that Arcee is right.

Smokeedge continues, "Fourthly, if she continues disobeying us to the point where she manages to evade even more severe punishments, we'd have to kick her out."

Optimus then says, "That would only result in her becoming embittered or liable to betraying us by either revealing us to the whole world or by joining the Decepticons."

Smokeedge replies, "That may be true, which is why I've got several dozen of my previous troops who arrived to Earth fifty years ago in human form impersonating different kinds of fictional police officers and superheroes to watch over our future and current human allies if in the event they're incapacitated, thrown out of the base, banned from the base, or in case they decide to quit working alongside us."

Optimus grumbles a bit this time.

Smokeedge then says, "Fifthly, as an alternative, we insist that Miko goes back to base no matter how much she protests or tries to put up a fight. I mean, after all, we may be visitors to this planet, but we are giant robots, and thus we do have that kind of authority to throw the weight of around."

Ratchet asks, "And if she refuses to listen?"

Nightimus answers, "We keep her restrained in chains with a mouth clamp and we keep her seated onto a bolted down chair in a room with only one door."

Ratchet thinks for a moment before saying, "Great idea."

Smokeedge continues, "Sixthly, we remind Jackson Darby, Rafael Esquivel, and any other human children brought into the fold to use their own judgements rather than listen to Miko's horrible advice while explaining to her – no matter how many repetitions – the reasons why her advice won't work and why her advice will only continue to cause trouble."

Bumblebee says, "I think that Miko will still refuse to listen."

Jumpbee replies, "Then we'll have to continue the punishments while explaining to Miko in a manner she can understand, even reluctantly, that the more she disobeys us, the more severe her punishments will be."

Smokeedge continues still, "Next to that, since we have the Polarity Gauntlet and the Immobilizer, we're gonna use it to immobilize and magnetize together or into makeshift prisons any Decepticon forces we encounter."

Optimus asks, "And why would we use the Polarity Gauntlet and the Immobilizer in such manners?"

Fortressimus answers again, "One reason above all else: it doesn't matter how many Autobots there are right now or will be in the future if we use the protoforms from every crashed Decepticon ship, if we continue using our cloning machines, and if we continue sending out signals for any Autobots in the vicinity of this solar system to come to Earth.

The reason why is because we're still vastly outnumbered nine hundred and ninety-nine trequinquagintillion, nine hundred and ninety-nine duoquinquagintillion, nine hundred and ninety-nine unquinquagintillion, nine hundred and ninety-nine quinquagintillion, nine hundred and ninety-nine novemquadragintillion, nine hundred and ninety-nine octoquadragintillion, nine hundred and ninety-nine septenquadragintillion, nine hundred and ninety-nine sexquadragintillion, nine hundred and ninety-nine quinquadragintillion, eight hundred and eighty-eight quattuorquadragintillion, eight hundred and eighty-eight trequadragintillion, eight hundred and eighty-eight duoquadragintillion, eight hundred and eighty-eight unquadragintillion, eight hundred and eighty-eight quadragintillion, eight hundred and eighty-eight novemtrigintillion, eight hundred and eighty-eight octotrigintillion, eight hundred and eighty-eight septentrigintillion, eight hundred and eighty-eight sextrigintillion, seven hundred and seventy-seven quintrigintillion, seven hundred and seventy-seven quattuortrigintillion, seven hundred and seventy-seven trestrigintillion, seven hundred and seventy-seven duotrigintillion, seven hundred and seventy-seven untrigintillion, seven hundred and seventy-seven trigintillion, seven hundred and seventy-seven novemvigintillion, six hundred and sixty-six octovigintillion, six hundred and sixty-six septenvigintillion, six hundred and sixty-six sexvigintillion, six hundred and sixty-six quinvigintillion, six hundred and sixty-six quattuorvigintillion, six hundred and sixty-six trevigintillion, six hundred and sixty-six duovigintillion,

five hundred and fifty-five unvigintillion, five hundred and fifty-five vigintillion, five hundred and fifty-five novemdecillion, five hundred and fifty-five octodecillion, five hundred and fifty-five septendecillion, five hundred and fifty-five sexdecillion, four hundred and forty-four quindecillion, four hundred and forty-four quattuordecillion, four hundred and forty-four tredecillion, four hundred and forty-four duodecillion, four hundred and forty-four undecillion, four hundred and forty-four decillion, three hundred and thirty-three nonillion, three hundred and thirty-three octillion, three hundred and thirty-three septillion, three hundred and thirty-three sextillion, three hundred and thirty-three quintillion, two hundred and twenty-two quadrillion, two hundred and twenty-two trillion, two hundred and twenty-two billion, two hundred and twenty-two million, two hundred and twenty-two thousand, one hundred and eleven to one hundred vigintillion. And if the war on Earth continues, we'll all end up dying from Energon resource depletion, and it's also because, as I just said, Earth's supplies of Energon aren't as unlimited as the Energon supplies on Cybertron before Megatron poisoned Cybertron's core with Dark Energon."

Bulkhead states, "Optimus, Ratchet, I hate to say it, but Smokeedge is right. And even though I'm not as gifted in intellect as you all, I have a feeling that if Smokeedge is right, we'd have a serious Energon starvation problem on our hands."

Optimus sighs before asking, "And what other suggestions do you have?"

Smokeedge continues still, "Next, if we encounter any Decepticons turning rogue or considering betraying both Autobots and Decepticons as an alternative method of going rogue, we must always place them in stasis cuffs with their servos behind their backs. That way, they'll be further unable to fight or try to escape captivity. Next to that, I'll contact the manager of K.O. Burger and make sure he tells Jack to remember to keep any ordered food out of reach until it's paid for so that way, he won't have to pay for any stolen food with money from his own paychecks. Next to that, Arcee, if you go to bring Jack to the base, make sure that you're in vehicle mode when asking Jack to come to base. Otherwise, you could potentially be exposed to anyone other than Miko."

Arcee nods, clearly not liking Smokeedge's advice in terms of the underlying warning.

Smokeedge continues still, "Next to that, I'll make sure to tell Agent Fowler that if in the event he reports to his superiors at the Pentagon about him coming inbound from the Autobot base for any reason, he should come up with a fake name or at least say '"that special place no one should know about"' so that way, the Decepticons will never capture him to interrogate him for the coordinates or general location of our base."

Optimus nods and gestures Smokeedge to continue, and so he does as he says, "Next, if in the event Arcee, Bulkhead, and any others encounter Decepticons fighting over the Polarity Gauntlet's replica, you should make sure to sit back and let them tear each other to shreds."

Bulkhead and Arcee exclaim in unison, "What?!" "What?!"

Orange Beetle then says, "Oh! Now I get it. If they allow any Decepticons fighting over the Polarity Gauntlet's replica tear each other apart, they won't team up against them."

Arcee and Bulkhead looked lost in thought for a moment.

Wheelstand then picks up the pace as he says, "Alternatively, if the Decepticons fighting over the replica of the Polarity Gauntlet are subdued to the point of being knocked out cold, no pun intended, you should either finish them off or take them prisoner."

Arcee and Bulkhead looked inquisitively at Wheelstand, but they brushed it off as they considered the options.

Smokeedge then says, "Next, around the time of a specific '"episode"' of '"season 2"' where Agent Fowler is being interviewed by General Bryce III about recent events, I'll make sure to remind Agent Fowler to have Optimus show up in person at the beginning to collaborate any stories about recent events brought to subject."

Ratchet and Optimus nod in understanding.

Ramracer then says, "Up next on the list, if we encounter an opportunity to revive Cybertron, we must make sure that any of our human allies are taken into the base so that they won't be kidnapped, stuck in air-tight glass pods, taken to Cybertron, and ransomed for the unknown mechanism capable of reviving our home. And that particularly falls on any of our medics still in the base at that point in time in the future, including you, Ratchet."

Ratchet nods in understanding, knowing the gravity of the situation without needing all the details explained all at once.

After that bridge was crossed, the Autobots under Optimus' command, old and new, decided that when the time is right, they'll put their new intel into practice. Even if it might mean derailing the timeline or making Megatron and any other Decepticon leader soon to come into the future or be summoned by Megatron himself even more ruthless and desperate.

Optimus and Ratchet knew that they didn't like this, but they knew that their comrades are right; by avoiding those mistakes in the past, they can be saved Energon and frustration.

The End.
