Transformers Prime: No Autobots Are Idiots.
Chapter 9: In Your Arms.
(Transformers Prime Universe #192,394,596,203,495,867,019,183, Sunday, January 24th, 2010, third person POV...)
In a small ship, a Decepticon Seeker by the name of Drabstorm frantically moved to and fro across the bridge of her ship, her strong, steady, and not too large servos messing with the difficult controls.
She knew that the engine leakage needs to be repaired quickly, or else she'll crash land.
She drowned out the persistent buzzing sounds from the computers as she went to the engine room and took out a few spare parts to work with.
She managed to repair the engine leakage, and the computer set course for Earth at her mental command.
But then, the Energon lines run empty, and her ship starts falling.
Drabstorm snarls, "Well, that's just fragging great!"
And in no time, the ship crash lands fifty-nine clicks northwest by twenty-eight clicks southeast from the Autobot base.
In the Autobot base, Ratchet monitors the screens, and he sees the monitors detect Drabstorm's life signal.
Ratchet then says as Optimus, Smokeedge, and Arcee come into the command center, "Optimus! You need to see this at once!"
Optimus studies the screen and says, "That is a Cybertronian life signal."
Arcee then asks, "Smokeedge, is it an Autobot or a Decepticon?"
Smokeedge answers, "It's a Decepticon Seeker looking to defect to our side."
Ratchet and Arcee ask in unison, "What?" "What?"
Smokeedge answers, "According to my foreknowledge intel databanks brought on by my future descendants, the Decepticon Seeker by the name of Drabstorm was compelled to join the Decepticons during the war thanks to her older brother Breezecrasher, even despite her protests and despite her wanting nothing to do with Megatron. And because her brother was a staunch Decepticon patriot, Drabstorm waited for the right moment for her brother to be reported offline so she can take a chance to find any Autobot forces and join up with them. However, some problems with the engines and Energon lines of her ship caused her to crash land fifty-nine clicks northwest by twenty-eight clicks southeast from the base."
Arcee then says, "And considering our history of recruiting Decepticon turncoats, I wouldn't even be surprised if that was the case."
Optimus then says, "Nevertheless, we must assist Drabstorm before the Decepticons detect her signal."
Ratchet locks onto Drabstorm's signal, and an away team consisting of Optimus, Fortressimus, Arcee, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Tailgate are transported to their destination.
The Autobots observed the wreckage of Drabstorm's ship and Bumblebee remarks, "It doesn't look like it belongs to a Decepticon, let alone a Flier."
Arcee replies, "All the same, we must remain cautious."
Optimus scans the area with his optics before spotting a strange red object flickering in the sunlit wreckage.
Optimus takes several steps forward before realizing he was staring at Drabstorm's optics.
He moved several large pieces of shrapnel away to reveal Drabstorm, badly damaged by the crash.
Her left wing was bent at an odd angle, and Energon was dripping from several exterior damages across her frame.
Her red optics were widened, and Optimus didn't know why.
Drabstorm thinks to herself, "Autobots? They have to help me."
Drabstorm whispers, "(Softly) H-h-help... me... please."
Her frame shook when she coughed up some Energon.
Optimus then says into his commlink, "Ratchet, I fear that Drabstorm may require repairs. Prepare sick bay immediately."
Bumblebee says, "Poor Seeker femme. Her ship must've gotten caught in the Earth's gravitational pull by the time she found out about the engine leakage."
Smokeedge helps Optimus gently lift Drabstorm out of the wreckage and carrying her towards the Ground Bridge.
Drabstorm says weakly, "T-t-thank y-y-y-you."
Arcee's optics narrowed at the Decepticon symbols on Drabstorm's chestplate and wings before asking, "Smokeedge, is this the Drabstorm that you told us about?"
Smokeedge answers, "Affirmative, Arcee. My future descendants never lied."
With Smokeedge ad Optimus' help, Drabstorm was taken into the base.
Ratchet shuts down the Ground Bridge before looking over to the returning party, only for his optics to widen when he sees the battered Decepticon femme that Smokeedge had described.
Ratchet gently helps Drabstorm to a medical table and he says, "Don't worry, Drabstorm; with our equipment, you'll be repaired in less than forty-five cycles."
Drabstorm weakly nods in understanding.
In no time, with stasis induced into Drabstorm, Ratchet and the other medics plus Nightimus Prime, Pipelock, and Smokeedge went to work, and they started with Ratchet welding the mesh wounds shut.
After Ratchet finished welding the mesh wounds shut, Smokeedge uses his healing powers on the torched wounds to heal them faster.
After less than forty-five cycles, Drabstorm was awakened from a nightmare she had about the day her brother fully convinced her to join the Decepticons.
Smokeedge asks, "How do you feel?"
Drabstorm then asks back, "Why do you look like Optimus Prime if he was a knight that turned into a car?"
Smokeedge answers, "It's the way my frame was designed."
Drabstorm replies before asking, "I see. Well, who are you?"
Smokeedge answers, "I am Smokeedge. I'm not only an Autobot lieutenant commander, but I'm also a medic well beyond my stellar cycles."
Drabstorm smiles slightly as she replies, "I'm Drabstorm."
Smokeedge nods, knowing that now's not the right time to debrief her about the knight Optimus Prime lookalike with a car vehicle mode standing before her.
Drabstorm then says, "Thank you all for saving my life. Primus knows I don't deserve such kindness just because I still bear the symbol of the barbarians my brother forced me to join."
Primus then says, "And you will not have to worry about your brother anymore, my child."
Drabstorm looks at Primus in shock and disbelief.
True, she had not seen Primus in robot mode, let alone his gigantic robot mode, but she couldn't believe that the creator of the Cybertronian race of Transformers was alive and in a smaller form up to Optimus Prime's height.
Drabstorm asks in shock, "Primus?! Is that you?"
Primus answers, "Yes, it is I. Sorry that you don't believe it, but it is true. I may be the size of standard Cybertronians in this body, but I am still invulnerable, and I am still a god."
Drabstorm then starts shedding tears of lubricant and Energon as she says, "I am so sorry for joining the Decepticons and killing Autobots whenever I was ordered to do so, father."
Primus then says, "The day you decided to join the Autobots as soon as you heard about your brother being reported offline was the day you earned my forgiveness, my daughter."
Primus approaches Drabstorm, and, consciously aware that her damages are still mending thanks to the medics and thanks to the medics and Smokeedge's team pitching in with their respective powers, experience, and equipment, he proceeds to gently hug Drabstorm, and he gently held her as she cried.
From the entrance to the hallway, Arcee couldn't help herself from overhearing, and even though she still has doubts – she had made that clear when she went to check on Drabstorm earlier before it was Smokeedge's shift – she couldn't help but admit that in a way, even outside of Vinepionica and Moonspinner, Optimus and Smokeedge were right. Every sentient being deserves an opportunity for redemption, but it depends on how far they're willing to go to accomplish their goals, it depends on how big their criminal records are, it depends on whether or not they want to really change, it depends on how deep or irreversible their Decepticon programming is, and it depends on how much stress, trauma, abuse, and grief they secretly went through in their life cycles.
Arcee comes over as Primus and Drabstorm break off their father to daughter hug.
Drabstorm then says, "Primus, my father, I promise you, I won't ever screw up my second chance, even if my brother Breezecrasher somehow survived the excursion failure on the techno-organic planet called Thuagawa."
Arcee remarks gently, "Yeah, that is an understatement unheard of these days, but not unwelcome."
Drabstorm replies, "Nice to know you think so, ma'am. But as you were probably told by now, the only reason I joined those horrid terrorists turned warmongers is because of my brother coercing me to join them, even if our parents weren't dead. But now that he is offline, I want nothing more to do with Megatron's army, no matter how much of it is left. I suffered my childhood serving under him, but I suppose Autobots and Decepticons suffer in different ways, correct?"
Arcee answers, "Yes. I suffered interrogation by Vinepionica and almost lost my first partners Strikestreaker and Striking Streakblazer for refusing to give up important intel about attack coordinates for a battle, attack coordinates I wasn't privy to."
Drabstorm then looks over Arcee and notices that even though they're not exactly the same small size, Arcee was still strong enough to pummel her into Energon paste if she ever did anything wrong.
Primus then says, "Drabstorm, if you wish, you can stay here and join our Autobot cause. You said it yourself that you don't want anything to do with the Decepticons anymore."
Arcee then says, "Father, I don't know how many other Decepticon turncoats will be willing to join us, but like with Smokeedge and Optimus, I trust your judgement."
Primus nods.
Primus then says, "However, because of the scale of your criminal record, you will be under constant surveillance until you prove yourself worthy of being an Autobot even after receiving the Autobrand. After all, not every Decepticon turncoat who joins the Autobots are automatically accepted with open arms just because of their criminal records and their kill counts."
Drabstorm replies, "I understand, Primus. I do not know how I can ever repay any of you for helping me return to the light."
Smokeedge replies back, "No repayment is necessary, child."
After the introductions were had, Optimus says, "Now, there are some rules in this base, Drabstorm. First, we live on Earth as robots in disguise until the war is over and/or until we Autobots get accepted by the humans of the world, including their leaders, if in the event we ever become publicized. The humans, all of them except for our charges and allies, must not know of our existence just yet. You will need to scan an Earth-based vehicle mode, and because you are a Flier, you will be given an appropriate fighter jet to scan. Next, you will not harm any humans unless they are part of their species' own terrorist organizations who are obsessed with obtaining advanced technology by Cybertronian and human standards, particularly if they already know about Cybertronians and if they prove to be persistent in leading Autobots and Decepticons into traps or otherwise stunning them with electricity to capture them for experimentation. Outside of dealing with human terrorists, we Autobots are here to protect the rest of the human race from our war with the Decepticons and any form of disregard for this rule will be swiftly punished. Am I making myself clear?"
Drabstorm answers before asking, "Yes, sir, you are making yourself clear. And, when I am fully repaired, will I be allowed to fly for a set amount of time?"
Optimus answers, "Yes. You will be bridged to a random area and your every move will be closely watched over. You will indeed be given a set amount of time to fly and then you will land and return to base. Do you understand that as well?"
Drabstorm answers, "Yes, Optimus. I promise you I will follow these rules to the best of my ability to do so. And I assure you that, unlike Starscream, I am a femme of my word."
In a slew of astro-minutes, Drabstorm fell into recharge after Primus used his holy power to give her her own Autobot symbols.
Optimus then says, "Smokeedge, Primus, I believe we are making excellent progress in convincing even a small enough number of Decepticons to join our cause."
Primus then says in response, "Yes, but do not forget, my son, it will be harder to convince select Decepticons like Vinepionica, Moonspinner, Starscream, Soundwave, and Megatron to join our cause. Even if the Decepticon Justice Division did exist in our timeline, as Smokeedge and Vector Prime described."
Optimus then asks, "And how dangerous is the Decepticon Justice Division?"
Smokeedge answers, "As described on the human website called Redd It in the Quadwal cluster, they're metaphorically and somewhat literally living torture devices, some of them having painful torture tools in their frames, others literally transforming into torture devices, and their reputation is so fearsome that most Decepticons like Starscream, Shockwave, or even the IDW 2005 Megatron, upon learning that they're on the Traitor List that details Decepticon traitors to kill, will often contemplate fighting back at their own peril or committing suicide. And sadly, the only Autobot who is able to take on even one member of the Division, aside from ultra powerful combiners and Titans like Optimus Maximus, Victorion, Volcanicus, Omega Supreme, Metroplex, and Fortress Maximus, is none other than Primus himself."
Primus and Optimus ask in unison, "Hmm?" "Hmm?"
Smokeedge then explains, "Think about it; for a team of supervillains or even Decepticons as powerful as the Decepticon Justice Division or even the Decepticon Headmasters or even Deathsaurus' Decepticon Breastforce, the only Autobots or Autobot allied Transformers who are even remotely capable of taking them offline are Primus and the Primes who preceded me and Optimus as long as power upgrades via Micronus Prime's Chimera Stone are involved."
Primus then says, "Hmm. In a logical manner of speaking, you may be right, Smokeedge."
Optimus then says, "I concur, Primus. But whatever happens in the future, we can only hope that we will not encounter the Decepticon Justice Division any time soon, given our current numbers and resources despite both being abundant."
Smokeedge then says, "In my experience, praying to Primus and to God only works if the timeline's chronological order for the most part in some cases remains unchanged. But that's only when someone like me is in a universe where the race of Transformers is real."
Primus replies back, "Maybe so, but as I am also a god, I can easily help us with problems like the Decepticon Justice Division, even though it means somehow, there'll be a price to pay."
After much discussion, the Autobots decided to be prepared for if in the event the Decepticon Justice Division ever shows up on Earth at some point in the near future or in the far future.
And over time, Drabstorm got along well with the majority of the Autobot forces, even those like Broadside and Springer, who were somewhat coldhearted. But even they warmed up to the new Autobot recruit.
Smokeedge even had her volunteer in Energon retrieval missions from time to time, and Optimus accepted with conditions meant to prove her obedience and willingness to follow Autobot laws on Earth.
But Primus, Smokeedge, Alpha Trion, and Vector Prime knew that eventually, someone on the Decepticon side will discover Drabstorm's treachery.
So, Smokeedge decided to upgrade Drabstorm's frame to the point where she is forevermore invulnerable to electricity-based attacks and to the point where she can shield herself from being detected by Decepticon equipment.
And when Smokeedge was asked about what kinds of upgrades can be thought of to give to the troops, he answered, "Ranging from bigger and stronger frames to better weapons, upgraded T-cogs in order to scan additional vehicle modes, and even being outfitted with rocket thrusters in your feet to allow you to fly in robot mode."
Of course, Vector Prime and Optimus agreed with Smokeedge when he said that it was the wrong time and place to upgrade any Autobots on the primary part of the Team Prime roster; it'd make Megatron's forces even more desperate.
Of course, Smokeedge couldn't help but reveal his latest masterpiece: a replica summoning machine that he used to summon "replicas" of Autobots, Maximals, dragon Predacons, Beast Wars Predacon turncoats, and Decepticon turncoats from all across the Cybertronian multiverse.
And he demonstrated by summoning differently named and differently colored versions of Optimus Primal, 9K, Air Hammer, Airazor, Albitron, Apelinq, Armordillo, Bantor, B'Boom, Big Convoy, Blackarachnia, Bonecrusher, Botanica, Break, Bump, Cheetor, Claw Jaw, Colada, Convobat, Crossblades, Cub, Cybershark, Depth Charge, Dinobot, and other Beast Era, IDW 2005, Rise of the Beasts, and War for Cybertron Kingdom Maximals after explaining the name and paint job differences.
And along with that, Primus also helped out by inventing OC Maximals that not only turn into dragons and dinosaurs, but also turn into other animals.
In no time, the newly upgraded Autobot forces which were upgraded to two million, two hundred and fifty-eight thousand, two hundred and fifty-eight strong, managed to send a signal to any further Autobot forces to come to Earth at best possible speed and pace.
In no time, Primus also made plans to transfer at least five different humans from the Quadwal cluster to this universe while upgrading them into techno-organics.
Smokeedge was a bit skeptical of this, having been forewarned of the consequences and risks involved in such an endeavor. But he accepted that nevertheless.
The End.
