Transformers Prime: No Autobots Are Idiots.

Chapter 34: Unexpected Arrival.

(Transformers Prime Universe #192,394,596,203,495,867,019,183, Monday, July 26th, 2010, third person POV...)

Nightimus Prime was among the many in the ranks of transformatted humans from the Quadwal cluster who knew that soon, another Decepticon sleeper agent would be discovered, and that he won't be easy to persuade to defect. Which is why she wanted to have at least 4 to 9 of her troops prepared to help her out.

Just then, in the command center, Ratchet says to Paywind and Purple Gnat, "Oh, good. You're just in time for your new assignment. We detected a Cybertronian escape pod crash landing in the Willamette National Forest in Oregon."

Paywind and Purple Gnat are Ground Bridged to the location, and they see a youngling in the pod.

After taking the youngling to the base, they named her Deserae and they along with the others discovered that Deserae was abused by her parents for not being the gender that they wanted, and she was eventually forced to kill them.

Paywind managed to have her accept him and Purple Gnat as her new parents, even though the twosome technically weren't spark bonded yet.

Bumblebee asks, "How can any bot do this to an innocent child?"

Optimus replies, "I do not know, Bumblebee, but this is evidence that child abuse existed on Cybertron as much as it does on Earth. Deserae clearly is traumatized about killing her parents, and she clearly views this all as a sensitive subject, so we shall not bring it up again. Every child needs serenity, peace, and joy in their lives, and as such, we shall make Deserae feel welcome."

Elita One then says, "I hope you don't mind me saying this, Optimus, but I wasn't expecting Paywind to be kind and loving towards children."

Ratchet replies, "Well, remember, he was once a human being. He's more human than any of us currently. His mature nature brought a different side of his personality to the surface when Primus made him a Cybertronian. But Paywind clearly doesn't like talking about his past, and I believe it is because he wishes to leave the past behind and start something entirely new and improved in our universe."

Optimus says, "A wise decision on Paywind's part, old friend."

In Deserae's bedroom, Paywind is telling her a bedtime story.

Paywind says, "And then, Peter realized that the spider bite gave him the basic powers of a spider, such as super strength, super speed, an extrasensory awareness of any form of danger which he calls his Spider-Sense, the ability to cling to any surface so he can climb up walls and ceilings, and enhanced reflexes, but without the ability to shoot webs out of his wrists. So, he made himself a spider themed costume and mechanical devices that can shoot artificial spider webs which regularly needed to be refilled and which cost lots of money just for the materials for the artificial web fluid. At first, Peter used his identity and his powers as Spider-Man to win a wrestling match against an unbeatable wrestler called Crusher Hogan to win enough money to financially support his aunt and uncle. But then, the fight promoter cheated Peter of his winning money, and when the fight promoter got robbed, Peter let the thief go as a form of revenge. But when Peter returned home, he found out from the police that his uncle was gunned down in a burglary gone wrong, and that the murderer responsible had been chased to a local warehouse. Peter suited up into his Spider-Man suit and apprehended the murderer. But when he unmasked the murderer, he was horrified to see that it was the same thief from the wrestling arena, the thief he allowed to escape just because he was cheated out of his winning money. Peter could've ended up taking his revenge right then and there, but he knew that meant the police would try to track him down and apprehend him, and that also meant that he'd end up being just as horrible as the man responsible, Dennis Carradine. So, Peter left Dennis webbed up for the police and made like a tree. Since then, Peter decided to never use his powers and identity as Spider-Man for personal gain ever again, now that he knows that any superhero who uses their powers for personal gain always end up losing something or someone in exchange as a form of punishment. He chose to uphold his Uncle Ben's last words of wisdom in his future years as a crimefighting vigilante: with great power, there must also come great responsibility. And that's the basic story of how Peter Benjamin Parker became Spider-Man. The End."

Paywind notices Deserae had fallen asleep, and he smiles behind his battle mask before leaving to his berth room.

In his quarters, Paywind was pleased with what he did: he saved an abused child, gave her the comfort and support she needed at the moment, and took her under his wing for the most part.

Paywind hoped that Deserae would be given the happiness she deserves.

The End.
