Hello, please be warned this is the first time I have ever wrote a fanfic so this will be a horrendous experience for you. Read with caution!
Also if you do decide to actually read this trash that I put out please give me some constructive criticism that I can build off of and make this fic better
The rain splashed on the roof and windows of a house, the pitter pattering filling in the silence of the void that was a boys room. The glow of a computer screen illuminated his expressionless face as he listlessly stared at the news article that showed his parents death a year ago.
He knew he should have been sad or at least should have been angry about it but by now he just grew numb to it and the world around him, the lights in his life have been snuffed out and he was just left to wander in the dark.
All of a sudden the computer screen flashed out brightly, the boy covered his eyes in a reaction to this bizarre event that had occurred. After a few short moments the light subsided and the boy was able to uncover his eyes and see again. In the air just floating right in front of him was a strange colorless device, as he listlessly stared at this strange device it started floating towards him and landed in his palm.
Right as this happened and he touched the strange device, the computer started to glitch out and a digital looking rift appeared on the screen. Within mere moments of him touching the device he was sucked into the computer and hurtling through digital looking space.
As the boy regained consciousness he could feel the cold and damp ground beneath him.
"Well that was a surprise, now… where am I and what just happened?" the boy questioned as he gathered his bearings.
When he looks around he can see that he is in a place quite different from his room, gnarled trees and a fine mist occupy the landscape he is observing.
"I'm definitely not in my room, might as well try to find information on where here is and what this is." he says as the boy looks at the device that brought him here. He pockets said device and then picks a direction to walk aimlessly towards.
Eventually the boy chances upon a castle on his adventure for information. "Huh, didn't expect a castle to randomly be here of all places." he says as he starts to walk up the mountain path into the wide open gates noting that they looked as if they were expecting him. What the boy failed to notice however was the humanoid figure on the roof watching him and his every move.
As he entered the castle the boy could feel the strange device begin to glow and shake, as if something was calling it towards itself. The boy, not caring enough to question why or how, started to follow this strange device's glow like a dowsing machine as he didn't have anything else to realistically do as he would get lost in a castle this big.
After a few minutes of walking and taking in the scenery and atmosphere of the castle he finally arrived at some steps leading to where the glow from the strange device was strongest. As the boy made it down the steps the strange device flies out of his hand and shines its light onto a sleeping digimon, as this happens the humanoid figure following the boy steps out of the shadows and reveals himself.
"Well what do we have here, the digidestined of darkness in my castle? How fortuitous." the strange man said
The boy was confused by the title. "I don't know what you mean by that but I assume it has to do with that strange device and where I am at the moment." he says in response to the strange man
"Everything will be explained in time, in the meantime I would go check on your partner. They have been waiting for you for quite a while." the man cunningly says as he knows that if the digidestined is here that means the other digidestined have arrived.
While the boy doesn't quite understand what is happening he doesn't really care as he grabs the strange device from the air and checks on the waking creature that is supposed to be his partner. As the creature awakens they are surprised to see a human with a digivice standing above them, they initially growl but stop as they realize who this human is supposed to be.
"So you are the one that is destined to be my partner." the creature says, the boy is slightly surprised that the creature could talk but shrugs it off.
"I guess, I don't really understand what's going on right now." he says in a bland tone
"Then let me explain." the creature says, standing up and stepping into the moonlight. "You are my partner and it is your responsibility to make me stronger." they exclaim excitedly
"Ah, ok." the boy says blandly
It is at this point the strange man from before steps in, "While that is true there is far more to the role than that." the man exclaims. "But before we get into specifics perhaps we should go somewhere more comfortable than here."
"Ah! I didn't say it but I am Hackmon, your digimon partner!" Hackmon excitedly says before turning to follow the strange man
"Huh… well it's nice to meet you Hackmon, my name is Yami Satsuki." Yami says in an apathetic tone as he too starts to follow the strange man
"Well if we are doing introductions then you should know who I am, I am Myotismon." the man exclaims with a flourish of his cape. "Now, Yami-boy and Hackmon, hurry up and follow me. You don't want to get lost do we?"
Myotismon begins to walk up the steps and into the corridor as Yami and Hackmon catch up, what they don't see however is the sinister and conniving smile Myotismon has on his face.
