I don't own Tudors.

Chapter 1

July 28th, 1515

"Bring in your brother, Henry!" Catherine of Aragon yelled at her husband in their private chambers. The daughter of Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon is furious.

Because her brother-in-law Edmund Tudor, the King's younger brother, had married last night. Without telling the King or anyone in court.

"Woman, stop your shouting." Henry is annoyed by his wife right now. Everyone knows that his younger brother Edmund Tudor is the King's favorite brother, and his brother had never shown interest in marriage or spoke of lovers until now.

Henry is curious about who this girl he marries and why his brother would do this.

"He insults me! You meant that my niece the Infanta Isabella will marry your brother to be the duchess of York." Catherine of Aragon wanted powerful family members to stay in a stronghold if chances they won't have any sons as long as they bear her family's blood.

"He will be brought in and…." He pointed his finger to hold up to command. She holds her tongue silently. "He will tell me why he secretly marries his new wife."

The next morning, everyone in court is waiting for the arrival of Edmund Tudor, Duke of York, and his new bride.

The door opened, and the page announced their arrival, "Prince Edmund Tudor Duke of York and his lady wife, Lady Ariel of Gloucester and House of Plantagenet!"

Everyone gasped and looked surprised at his announcement. Even the King looked surprised as he looked at Wolsey in confusion as Catherine didn't know there was another claimant to the throne.

The young lady Ariel is a girl about thirteen or fourteen years of age, yet she looks like Plantagenet, like Elizabeth of York and Edward IV.

Edmund Tudor is his brother who looked a bit old since he would go to the army to cease raiders boarding their country since he is a soldier. His brother seems like an older adult despite Henry being older than he is, but in physical appearance, his brother looks more tired and wants a simple life.

They both walked calmly towards the throne and greeted their kins.

"Your majesties." Edmund bowed, and Lady Ariel curtsies but kept their head down.

Henry looked at them and decided to question his brother.

"My Lord Duke, I hear tales that you secretly married Lady Ariel without my permission. Is this true?" Henry questioned his brother.

"Your majesties, you know I am loyal to you and your legacy," Edmund told Henry.

It irked Catherine of Aragon to no end.

"If you say you are loyal to the king, why did you shame my niece, the Infanta Isabella of a promised to marry her?" Catherine sneered at her brother-in-law.

"I had fulfilled my duty to wed at the King's pleasure. I had honored my pre-contract to wed this girl with the King's blessings."

"Speak!" Catherine demanded. "What blessings? We did not bless you to wed this girl."

"We did, for it was our mother, Queen Elizabeth of York had proposed this contract."

Everyone gasped and muttered towards each other as if they were discussing the deceased queen of their royal majesties.

"I'm sure that you didn't remember it well. For your see, our lady mother had discovered that Richard the third had another child from his legitimate wife. It was a daughter named Rosalie Plantagenet that he sent away when our father, the King, led his army to take his crown. His daughter had been safe with the nuns in Europe, where she was kept safe by Louis XII, who ruled France then. Lady Ariel's mother was a mistress for a time with Louis XII, who fathered her and her older brothers, who all perished from illness, leaving her alone with her mother. Our mother told her that if there is a daughter, let her have the title Gloucester as her inheritances and marry one of her sons to remain safe. With our father agreed to allow a Plantagenet to curve the Yorkiest away from taking the throne and bring peace to England. She is the blood of two royals and not a threat to the throne of your grace."

Henry looked surprised and waved to his brother to speak in private whispers as many of them looked and tried to hear as they were speaking. It looked like they both agreed as Henry beamed at his brother with such happiness.

"Then I welcomed our dear lady to England and being our sister!" Henry hugged his brother Edmund and kissed his sister-in-law's hand.

Catherine looked like she wanted to protest and Wolsey sighed as he agreed to the King's decisions.

Henry is pleased about this. If Catherine does not give him sons anytime soon, he knows his brother's offspring could succeed where he could not.

Henry can only pray that he and his brother have children to inherit the throne.

Reviews are welcome.

Sean Bean played Edmund Tudor as he looked and acted like Eddard Stark from Game of Thrones.
