On the bustling streets of New York, a ten-year-old girl walked among the throngs of people. Her long brunette hair fell a little ways past her shoulders with bangs covering part of her face. A Toxic green glared at the people that passed, and She had pale peach skin. She wore a white long-sleeve shirt with a black stripe running down the front and the bottom half had been torn away, exposing a grey shirt. A green skirt and black thigh-high socks covered her legs, and a grey chocker with a green ten hanging from it. It wasn't obvious but the girl was a street rat, and she hid it well.
The girl walked into a crowded arcade and walked to the back. Leaning against one of the games, she crossed her arms and glanced around. The girl stood there for a moment just watching kids play and have fun.
"Hey, this thing ate my token." the girl glanced to the side and saw a boy with an arcade employee. The boy looked around her age, he had long black hair that reached his shoulders, deep brown eyes, and pale skin. He wore a black t-shirt, army green pants, and black boots. "Read the sign kid," the worker said "Play at your own risk." then he walked away. The boy was upset, "This place is a ripoff, Sewermouth." he snapped.
The girl went wide-eyed with a smile and broke into laughter. The boy a little surprised, turned and looked at the laughing girl. "Ok, you are hilarious!" the girl laughed trying to collect herself. The boy chuckled nervously, "Am I?" he asked. The girl laughed a little more and looked at the boy, "Yeah, I've heard the losers working here get called loads of names, but none of them have ever made me laugh like that before." she said moving closer to the boy. The boy smiled, "I was just stating facts, I'm pretty sure he gaggles sewer water." he said.
The girl chuckled again and then looked at the boy. "I like you, so I'm gonna do you a favor." the boy raised a brow and watched the girl. The girl held up her hand and it turned green and glowed before morphing into a mace. The girl hit an arcade game and it began spewing tokens. The boy stared with wide eyes before smiling and gathering handfuls of the tokens.
"Kevin Ethan Levin!!" the girl looked up and saw a girl approaching. She had short red hair, and toxic green eyes, was wearing a blue shirt with a cat on it, white pants, and white and blue sneakers. "Kevin, you can't take those, they aren't yours!" the girl snapped. Kevin looked over his shoulder, "They are now, Gwen." he said and stood up. "Hey, thanks- um?" "Jen," the girl said and her hand returned to normal. Kevin nodded, "So, you wanna play air hockey?" Kevin offered and Jen smiled but quickly frowned when she saw a group of older boys approaching.
"Eh, actually I gotta bail, bye Kev," Jen said then turned and walked away. Kevin stood frozen for a moment, he hadn't been called Kev since she went missing. "Hey!?" "Whoa!?" Kevin was broke from his thoughts when he was knocked off his feet by the older boys pushing past him. Kevin looked up and saw Jen cornered by the boys. Feeling freshly annoyed now Kevin stood up and stormed over, "Let her go!" he snapped glaring at the boys.
The boys looked at Kevin and began laughing. Jen grinned and took the opportunity, bringing her feet up Jen kicked the boy standing in front of her, then backflipped forcing the boy holding her to bend his arms back and hurt them. Both boys cried out in pain and Jen was released, quickly running out of the arcade. Kevin noticed Jen flee and took a look around, it was just him, Gwen, and the boys at the moment.

Jen was outside the arcade catching her breath, she was still worn out from her last fight and wouldn't have lasted long against the boys. "AHHHH!!" Jen quickly turned and saw the boys fleeing the arcade, all of them beaten up and bruised. "you okay?" Jen's eyes widened as she saw a giant, red four-armed creature exit the arcade and look down at her. Jen didn't need to ask who the creature was, it was obvious it was Kevin.
"Yeah...thanks Kev." Kevin smiled and disappeared into an alley. Jen smiled and then saw a red flash and Kevin exit the alley. Kevin approached Jen, as did Gwen. "So, you guys want a tour of New York?" Jen asked. "We need to go, like now, Kevin. Keep my grandpa waiting any longer and he'll blow a gasket" Gwen said putting her hands on her hips. Kevin frowned, "Relax Gwen, it'll be fine." he said and Gwen seemed annoyed. "Kevin, you are not spending all day with some low-life street rat like her!' Gwen yelled and grabbed Kevin's wrist dragging him along.
Jen stood there staring after the two for a moment, tears building up in her eyes. Clinching her fist Jen turned away and began walking, fighting back her tears. Jen walked until she reached a crosswalk and had to wait. "Hey." a hand was placed on Jen's shoulder resulting in her turning and smacking the hand away. Kevin stepped back a little surprised, Jen stared at him for a moment before lowering her hand. "Sorry," she muttered, tears streaming down her face. Kevin frowned and wiped away Jen's tears, "I'm sorry about her, she's in a bad mood because I got us kicked out of a fancy hotel." Kevin said and shoved his hands in his pockets.
Jen smiled and wiped her eyes and sneered her eyeliner. "So, I was heading home, I go get cleaned up and I can give you that yours," Jen said putting on a smile. Kevin nodded and followed Jen.

"A shipping yard?" Kevin asked and Jen nodded pulling back part of the chain link fence. "This way." Jen hurried through the shipping yard and to a small warehouse that looked like it hadn't been used in a while. Jen leads Kevin inside and up a set of metal stairs. "I can't see a thing," Kevin said holding the stair railing. "Yeah, sorry about that, hold on." Jen stopped and then a string of white lights came on illuminating a small part of the upper level. Kevin looked around the upper level, the sting light went all around the railing to the wall, up the wall, and across the ceiling to the opposing wall. Against the wall was an old crate that was serving as a vanity and a broken piece of mirror on the wall. Two mattresses were stacked on the floor with a few pillows and a blanket, a couch, and a few posters.
"You live here?" Kevin asked looking around. "Yup, just me, myself, and I," Jen said walking over to the vanity and fixing her eyeliner. "What about your family?" Jen frowned and her eyes glowed, "I don't have one." she said and finished with her eyeliner. Kevin looked at Jen and hummed and took Jen's eyeliner "Here" Kevin drew two little spikes under Jen's eye and a little heart. Jen looked in the mirror and smiled, "Wow, that's awesome, thanks." Jen said and Kevin smiled. Kevin reached to move Jen's hair to do the other eye but she grabbed his wrist, "Eh, no one sees this side of my face anyway." Jen said and moved past Kevin. "So, ready for that?" Kevin nodded and followed Jen.
"So, tell me more about your powers." Kevin closed the warehouse door behind him. "Oh, well, I have these cool energy powers, I can create platforms, blasts, shields, and other cool stuff," Jen said and created a platform under her feet and floated up. Kevin smiled and hopped on the platform, Jen smiled and began flying the platform around. "Waa-hoo!" Kevin crouched down and looked down at everything that passed. "So, what did you do to get yourself kicked out of a hotel, you never told me," Jen said and flew down snagging two hot dogs from a vendor, and landed on top of the Statue of Liberty. Kevin sighed "All I did was sneak in a play the new Sumo Slammers game." Kevin said waving his hand dismissively. "The one that doesn't come out till Christmas?" Jen asked and handed Kevin his hot dog. Kevin nodded and took a bite, Jen got a devious smile.

"This way." Jen pulled Kevin along and to a warehouse. "I got a tip that a shipment just came in." Jen put her hand on the panel and released a small energy blast causing the panel to short-circuit. Kevin grinned and kicked the door down. Kevin ran over to a crate and Jen morphed her hand into a sharp blade and pushed it open. Kevin grabbed a copy of the game and then tossed one to Jen.
"Best day ever." Kevin cheered. Jen smiled and her heart fluttered a little. The window then shattered and smoke grenades hit the floor before a bright light shone through the windows. "Uh-oh!" Kevin quickly dialed into his watch. "What are you doing!?' Jen asked and began throwing energy disks to prevent anyone from coming in. "Getting us outta here." Kevin slammed down on his watch and with a bright red light he transformed into a large lizard with sharp teeth and sunken eyes. "Whoa," Jen whispered. "Meet Whiplash," Kevin said picked Jen up, and placed her on his back.
Jen held on tight and Kevin took off. "WHOA!!" Jen opened her eyes and saw they were running across the water and the swat team was far behind. Jen smiled and threw one of her arms in the air "WAA-HOO!!" Kevin began swerving and darting around before stopping in an alley. "Ah!" Jen jerked forward and fell off Kevin's back. "Sorry" "Now I understand the name." Kevin chuckled before changing back. Kevin offered Jen his hand and she took it.
"So, that's how you can turn into aliens?" Jen asked and grabbed Kevin's wrist, examining the watch. "Yeah, ten of them," Kevin said. Jen smiled "We should be partners." Kevin raised a brow. "Think about it, with our powers together we can be unstoppable, we can do what we want when we want. What do you say?" Jen held her hand out toward Kevin. Kevin looked at Jen's hand and thought before a smile crossed his face, "I'm in" Jen smiled and the two shook on it.

"This way." Jen jumped over the turn stall in the subway and Kevin followed. "So, what are we doing?" Kevin asked and watched Jen run onto the tracks and switch them. "Easy, a money train carrying thousands is coming this way, it'll crash into the oncoming passenger car then, BOOM! We get an instant payday." Jen climbed back onto the platform. "Jen, we can't do that!" Kevin snapped and Jen frowned at him. "Innocent people will get hurt," Jen growled and her eyes glowed brightly. Before Kevin could react he was pinned to the wall by Jen's energy.
"No one is innocent! No one! They just haven't had a chance to hurt you yet!" Jen dropped Kevin and turned to face the tracks as the trains approached. "No!" Jen gasped and fell as a fireball shot past her head and the tracks were switched back. "No!" Jen stood about about to jump on the tracks, "No!" Jen was grabbed by a set of firey arms. The trains passed and Jen put an energy shield around herself, forcing Kevin off.
Jen fell and looked over her shoulder at Kevin. Kevin was some kind of site alien "What do you call that one, Heat Blast?" Jen mocked. "Heatstroke." Kevin corrected, Jen growled and threw an energy disc at him. Kevin dodged and Jen quickly knocked out the lights. Kevin listened as Jen's footsteps echoed around him then she jumped on his back. "No, you're gonna get burned!" Kevin twisted and turned trying to get Jen off. Jen grabbed the watch symbol in Kevin's chest and charged an energy blast on her hand. Jen fired but the blast caused the symbol to send out a shockwave and threw Jen from Kevin, the energy retreating into her body, but that wasn't all.
"Ugh, that hurt." Jen sat up and examined herself. Jen's eyes widened, her body had absorbed the energy and partly turned me into Heatstroke. I stared at myself in shock for a moment before I began to chuckle before laughing. I stood up and shot a fire blast at the wall my laughter slowly subsiding. "This is gonna be great!" Jen looked at Kevin, he was partly unconscious, Jen scoffed and walked away.

"What were you thinking!?" Max scolded Kevin as he paced back and forth. "Max, I get you're upset but we have bigger things to worry about," Kevin said and Max sighed. "How are we gonna find her?" Gwen asked and they all frowned.
"Attention, citizens are advised to stay off the 39th Street bridge. Fires have been reported along with the bridge collapsing." "Found her," Kevin said and dialed into the Omnitrix. Kevin transformed into a giant bug alien and flew out of the RV.
~~~~~~~~~
"AHH!!" Jen grinned as the boys backed up against the wall terrified. "J-Jen, let's talk about this." one of the boys pleaded. "I didn't come to talk." Jen blasted the bridge and caused it to crash down on the boys. "I should have down this a long time ago." Jen raised her hands but her hands returned to normal. Jen looks at her hands, "You finally ran out of my power." Kevin landed in front of Jen.
"Oh jeez!" Jen gagged and stepped back, covering her nose. "This form is Rotten." Jen stepped further back. "Ugh, so gross!" Jen hit Kevin with an energy blast and then moved to tower over the boys. Jen raised her hand and it shifted into a syth. The boys screamed but Jen wasn't able to swing. Kevin flew and grabbed Jen carrying her up into the air kicking and screaming.
"Let me go!" Jen grabbed the watch symbol and blasted it like she did in the subway. Kevin dropped Jen and she created a platform and flew away. Kevin landed and helped the boys free themselves then turned and saw Gwen and Max approaching. "Where is she?" Gwen asked looking around for Jen. "She's gone, she tried to take more of my power, but I don't think it worked." Max and Gwen nodded.
The trio went back to the RV they had been traveling in all summer. Kevin and Gwen sat at the table and Max began driving. "Do you guys think...?" Kevin asked while glancing at Gwen and Max. "she does look a lot like her." Gwen said and silence fell over the three.
