A/N So I'm doing it. I'm expanding the Immortal Choices storyline. I have to, I ran out of inspiration for about twelve hours. Then the plot bunnies exploded. Reminds me of when my, at the time four old sister, told our mother that our brother's guinea pig had exploded...by having about a dozen babies.

More then a year after the immortal were hyena Xander Harris, now McCleod and the half human half demon Cordelia Chase had been sent out into the multiverse to help people, they've been called home. But they're not yet ready to take the mantle of godhood, there are still some lessons they need to learn. Now they'll be going out with a new purpose, to fix specific problems.

"You've done alot and I'm proud of you." Thor told Xander. "You've helped a lot of people figure out their problems. Now we're going to send you on specific assignments. Before you just randomly helped anyone you encountered. But now you're going to be figuring out solutions to specific problems. You remember Dr. Sam Beckett? He had to solve specific problems in order to move on to another problem. Now he chooses his own problems to solve. You started out the opposite, you chose your own people to help first. Now we're going to choose them for you. And you can't just rush in and fix it. You have to follow the same formula as before, help them to figure out a better way to solve the problem they're dealing with. Both they and you will learn so much more and the lesson stick much better if you do it that way. Understand?"

"Yes. Question though? Is David coming with us? He's grown alot in the last year and super hyenaed out twice, once in the reality with all the zombies and once in that reality where vampires ruled. Mind wise, he's growing even faster, he's at about fours year old."

"I think for now David should stay with us. You won't be gone long on assignments, a day or so at most. So you'll be able to see him often. Besides, Artemis and I want some spoil the grandbaby time. We're entitled, aren't we?"

"As long as you remember Cordy's rules, because seriously Cordy can do scary really good."

"What are her specific rules?"

"All natural food, no junk. Lots of attention, hugs that kind of thing. She's been teaching him to read. The fact that she can read him, lets her know he's actually getting it and not just contemplating eating the book. I like reading to him myself. I've always enjoyed reading."

"Doesn't sound difficult."

"And make sure he gets walked often. Since Cordy can read him, she always knows when he needs a walk. Until you figure it out, just make sure to walk him often. And brush his fur, he really likes that. Cordy got a special brush for it. And if he shows signs he's going to transform into a human form, you call us, right away. Neither of us want to miss that."

"I don't imagine you would. But let's get serious, you're first assignments will involve some realities similar to ones you've already been to. The Doctor was right, visiting the same reality and making repeated changes to that reality, can cause problems. Just as the Doctor found out visiting the same time period repeatedly can cause problems as well. We'll start with realities that are similar to ones you've already been to, but not the same ones, and go from there. You can shape shift into different forms, Artemis is currently teaching Cordelia how to glamour her appearance. Both of you will be able to see your true forms. You, because you See what is hidden, and her, because she sees you with her heart."

"Your first assignment." Artemis said, leading Cordelia over to Xander and Thor. "Will be in a reality with the Stargate. Your assignment will not be easy. It's to keep the alliance between the SGC, the Tok'ra and Jaffa from falling apart. You already know who the SGC is. The Tok'ra are an offshoot of the Gou'ald. The Gou'ald are intelligent parasites. They take control of a host, usually a human and pretend to be gods. The Tok'ra blend with a human instead of controlling the human. Both can benefit from the arrangement. The Jaffa are genetically altered humans created by the Gou'ald to be a slave army." Artemis continued briefing them. Turns out their two very brief encounters with similar realities hadn't shown them much that allowed them to learn alot about those realities. Now they were getting a massive amount of information handed to them.

"What are we supposed to learn from this?" Cordelia asked. "I get what the assignment is, I'm just wondering what we're supposed to learn."

"The same thing they are, that working together you can achieve so much more then you can separately." Thor told them. "A lesson I've had to learn a few times myself."

"Okay, the objective sounds simple enough." Xander said. "It's the getting there part that's going to be difficult. But I'm willing to try."

"Same here." Cordelia said. "Compromise is still something I struggle with. Sometimes I just want to shake people and say, do it my way! I'm sure I'm right!"

"Which is an attitude that contributed to the necessity of the Accords." Artemis pointed out. "As Thor was reminded when he healed Joyce Summers, we're not omniscient. And as you've learned, your solution isn't always the best one. But that doesn't mean you don't stop trying. Good luck, my daughter."

"Luck be with you, my son."

Xander took Cordelia's hand in his. An electric tingle and the world shifted.
