Kaorin awoke fairly late that morning, around 10:30 or so. She was in no rush to get up, however, and quickly fell back asleep, ultimate sleeping in until 11:27. As she awoke, she sat up and rubbed her eyes, placing Penguin back into his hidden place. She got on her knees and said a quick prayer to God, thanking Him that she had Kagura as a friend and that they were having a sleepover later on. For the rest of the day, Kaorin lazed around the house. She listened to music, played some videogames, and patiently waited until the evening arrived. At around 5:00pm, she heard a knock on the front door. "Sweetie, Kagura's here." Her mother called across the house. "Thanks Mommy!" Kaorin replied, making a beeline for the door. She swung open the front door, where she saw Kagura standing outside with an overnight back. "Hey, how's it going?" She smiled and waved. "I'm glad you could make it!" A cheerful Kaorin told her friend. Kagura walked in and took her shoes off, then walked with Kaorin to her bedroom. "Did you bring your weights with you this time?" Kaorin asked as Kagura set her bag down. "Nah, I didn't feel like carrying it." The tomboy replied, batting her hand side to side. She then looked around Kaorin's room for a moment. "So, what do you wanna do?" Kagura asked her friend. Kaorin thought for a moment. "We could play some games together if you want." Kaorin offered.
"Yeah, sure, what games do you have?" Kagura asked. Kaorin got out the few Wii games that she owned and let Kagura decide which one to play. While they were deciding there was a knock on the door. "Hello Kagura!" Greeted Kaorin's mother. "Hey, Kaorin's mom." Kagura replied in a jokey fashion. "I just wanted to remind you girls that we have church tomorrow, you're free to join us again if you'd like Kagura." Offered the mother of Kaorin. "Yeah, totally!" Kagura agreed. The two girls said goodbye to the mother and then played some Mariokart together for a while. Kaorin played as Rosalina, while Kagura played as Funky Kong. While they were playing, Kagura debated on whether or not to tell Kaorin about the sleepover she had with Sakaki the other night. As they kept playing games together and Kaorin showed that she was having a very good time, Kagura decided to keep quiet on the matter. I guess I beat you on that one." Kaorin said cheerfully after coming in second place. "Ha, yeah, you totally beat me there." Replied Kagura, who had just finished in fourth place. Kaorin stretched her arms into the air and yawned. "Are you tired already?" Teased Kagura. Kaorin shook her head as she let out the rest of her yawn. "No, just yawning. Say, are you hungry?" Kaorin asked. Kagura thought for a moment. "Yeah, I think so."
"My mom and I made meatballs with pasta last night, do you want some left overs? If not, we can always cook something like noodles together."
"Nah, I'm cool with leftovers." Affirmed Kagura. The two girls powered the game off and got up to eat some dinner.
Once they were done with their meal, they returned to Kaorin's room where they decided what to do next.
"Hey, I have an idea!" Kagura offered.
"What is it?" Kaorin asked.
"Do you wanna do truth or dare? I've always wanted to do it but I've never been able to."
"Sure! It sounds like fun!" Agreed Kaorin.
"Alright, who should go first?" Kagura wondered.
"Truth or dare!" Kaorin exclaimed, pointing her index finger at Kagura.
"Hmm." Kagura thought for a moment. "Truth."
"Hmm." Kaorin now thought. She couldn't think of anything very good.
"If you could kiss anyone, who would you kiss?"
"You already know." Kagura answered with a normal voice. It took Kaorin a moment to remember.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" She hastily apologized.
"Nah, don't worry about it." Kagura said. "Come to think of it, I haven't actually thought about him in a while."
"Well, that's good, right?" Kaorin asked.
"I guess." Kagura replied. As she she began linger on the thought of her crush, she caught herself and fled from those thoughts as fast as she could. Her mind carried her away from those feelings and drew her back to the conversation at hand.
"Truth or dare?" She asked Kaorin. Kaorin waited before giving me a reply.
"Dare." Kaorin firmly replied, looking Kagura right in the eye. The tomboy took a moment to think of a good dare.
"I dare you..." She began, "...to tell me the name of the person you want to kiss most."
Kaorin blushed incredibly hard and began to heat up.
"Kaguraaa..." She complained.
"Come on, you have to, it's a dareee." Taunted Kagura. Kaorin was still reluctant to give her an answer. They both know who she would say, Kagura just wanted to embarrass her.
"Forfeit! Forfeit!" Kaorin eventually cried out.
"Hmm, a forfeit, ay?" Kagura asked. "Alright, close your eyes." She told the other girl. "Um, why?" Asked Kaorin, getting a little nervous. "Just do it!" Commanded Kagura. Kaorin cautiously closed her eyes, anxious to see what would happen next. Kagura then lunged at her, and began to tickle her violently. Kaorin began to laugh out loud, then tried to tell Kagura to stop over the laughter. Kagura had a giant smile on her face and found herself chuckling a little bit too. She eventually stopped when Kaorin got to the point where she was almost out of breath they laid their backs on the bed together, both still slightly laughing. Kaorin then turned over onto her said and tried to tickle Kagura, but she squirmed out of the way and began ticking Kaorin again. "Say sorry! Say sorry!" Teased Kagura as she kept tickling her friend.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Laughed out Kaorin. Kagura stopped a little after she said this, their laughs almost as strong as when they started to tickle one another.
After the laughed had died down, the pair decided to stop the game and watch a movie together. Kaorin made a bowl of popcorn for them and they sat together on the floor, watching the movie while munching down on the snacks. Soon enough, the movie ended and it was time for them to go to bed. They brushed their teeth, taking turns in the bathroom, and then got settled in for bed. After Kaorin turned the lights off, she walked back over to her bed and reached down for her penguin, only to find he wasn't there. "Huh?" She thought to herself. A little part of her began to panic, as she found it hard to sleep without her plush and she didn't want to make a scene. When she reached her arm down again, Kagura poked at it with her finger. "Are you looking for someone?" She whispered, holding up Penguin with her other hand. "Can you pass him to me?" Kaorin asked. Kagura thought for a moment. "What do you think, Penguin?" She asked the stuffed animal.
Silence looked over them.
"Penguin doesn't want to sleep with you."
"What?" Kaorin asked out of confusion.
"Penguin likes me more."
For a reason unbeknownst to both of them, this infuriated Kaorin. She threw off the covers and karate-chopped Kagura in the head. "Ow!" Kagura let out in a normal voice, dropping the stuffed animal. Kaorin got out of bed and reached over for it, then turned her back to Kagura and went to sleep under the covers. As Kagura finished running her face, she found Kaorin's back was turned against her, and felt as though she had crossed a line with her friend. Another silence loomed over the duo for a moment. "Sorry." Kagura reluctantly let out after a few minutes, her eyes firmly affixed on the ceiling.
"It's whatever." Kaorin said, her eyes tightly shut. Kagura laid in bed feeling sorrowful on the inside. As a way to try and make amends, she sat up and slowly, quietly, made her way over to Kaorin. She lowered her hand and gently began to let her head. Kaorin could feel this, but let out no noise and made no movement, making no indication that she was aware of Kagura touching her. As Kagura lifted her hand away, she laid back down in her bed, still feeling bad on the inside. Kaorin figured she didn't understand why it made her upset, and so decided there was no point in making her feel any worse than she already did. "Kagura?" She whispered, sitting up in bed. "Yeah?" Asked Kagura, looking at at her. "Come here." She told the tomboy, with no sinister in her voice. Kagura got onto her knees and came over next to Kaorin. "What's up?" Kagura asked. Kaorin then opened her arms and gave Kagura a big hug. "I'm sorry I hit you." She told the tomboy. It took Kagura a moment to hug her back. "I'm sorry for taking Penguin." She told her friend.
"It's ok, I know it was a joke. I'm sorry I overreacted." Kaorin affirmed. The two eventually loosed their grips and returned to their beds, where they said goodnight to one another and promptly fell asleep.
