Chapter 5: Prizes for the Taking
At the Morach Kingdom, the citizens cheered when the Cup Trio arrived while the Guardian Pet Trio dragged the unconscious Cagney Carnation over. The Royal Morach Family came over to them, looking proud of them.
"I can't believe it. But you did it. You took down the former Royal Food Supplier. Now my people won't have to worry about famine," said King Makoto.
"So, what are you going to do with him?" Cuphead points to Cagney.
"Place him in jail for eternity, of course. Take him away, boys."
The Bhutan Glory Battalion arrives to pick up Cagney Carnation and takes him away.
"Cuphead, Mugman, Chalice, if there's anything you want, you shall have it for the deed you've done for us," Queen Monica said.
"There is one thing I like," Cuphead said.
"I'm all ears for you, Cuphead," Princess Melissa approached him with hearts above her head while Chalice looked jealous.
"If you don't mind, can we take pictures of your butterfly forms?"
"Eh?"
"You see, we are participating in the Annual Inkwell Isle Butterfly Photography Contest, and I was hoping you three don't mind if we take your pictures."
Princess Melissa looked disappointed, but Queen Monica answered, "Of course. Get in your best poses, Makoto and Melissa."
"Say cheese," said the Cup Trio, taking their Polaroid cameras and taking the pictures with a flash.
Once the flash settles, the scene takes place on a stage with framed photos of the butterfly forms of the Royal Monarch Family seen on the podiums of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
The Mayor said, "Third place goes to Ms. Chalice for her picture of a gold-pierced rainbow Melissa Blue Monarch Butterfly."
His wife hands the hundred-thousand-dollar cash prize to Chalice. She bows to the cheering crowd with a big grin as she winks to the crowd.
"Second place goes to Cuphead for his photo of a red pearl encrusted jade-patched Cattleheart Monarch Butterfly."
The Mayor's wife hands Cuphead the rarest Dirk Dangerous Comics collection.
He bowed before the cheering crowd and said, "Thank you. I like to thank the kind butterfly who allowed me to take their picture. I also want to thank everyone who has given me hope for coming this far. And I'm proud of the participants doing their best in this contest. Furthermore-"
But the Mayor interrupted, "And now for the first place of the two custom-made motorcycles. Give it to Mugman and his photograph of a bejeweled Great White Monarch Butterfly."
But Mugman stood there because of his stage fright, which confused the audience.
The Mayor's wife presents a red motorcycle and a blue motorcycle
She says, "Congrats, Mugman. The motorcycles are all yours. Mugman?"
Cuphead steps in and says, "Sorry, folks. My brother has stage fright. But he's grateful for working so hard to reach the top. See you all next year."
The audience clapped for the Cup Trio's accomplishments. Cuphead and Chalice whistled for the Guardian Pet Trio to help them carry their prizes off the stage, including Mugman's and himself.
Mugman then breaks out of his fear to say, "Alright, Cuphead and Chalice. We got our prizes. Ready to go for a ride?"
He puts on shades and hops on the blue motorcycle before finger-snapping at some girls, making them look impressed. The Guardian Pet Trio sits behind him as they put on shades, too.
"You know it, brother," said Cuphead, putting the comics in his pockets.
He gets on the red motorcycle and puts on his shades before grinning. It made all the girls squeal and faint.
"Hop on, Chalice," Cuphead gestured to the backseat behind him.
"Oh boy," she blushed before putting the cash prize in her pocket and getting on behind him.
He held him by the hips before the Cup Bros rode off.
"I never felt so alive like this before," Cuphead shouted happily.
"Born to be wild and free!" Chalice agreed.
"Let's ride into the sunset, everyone," Mugman exclaimed.
The Devil appeared on the road and said, "Time to catch that Cup's Soul. Now, where is he?"
The Cup Bros ran over the Devil. In pain, he looked up and saw them riding off into the sunset. THE END
